The breakfast served each morning is delicious and is more along the lines of Sunday brunch. You eat like kings! Max had great tips for places to visit and had good stories too.

This was our first stay at a B&B, and we are sold! Our room was large, and we loved having windows on 3 sides. Max made sure coffee was available every morning before breakfast, and he kept the pot full, so I never ran out. Breakfast each morning was delicious! Offerings included vegetable frittata, homemade coffee cake, rosemary potatoes, French toast bake, fruit strata, banana bread, fresh fruit each day, and orange juice. Our room was on the first floor, and the smells from the kitchen helped encourage us out of the comfortable bed each morning. Max and Sherri are the nicest people and truly want your visit to be wonderful. We highly recommend the MacArthur House for your next visit to Grand Marais!

My husband and I spent one night at the B& B. The owners are very nice & friendly. Our room was really great. We stayed in the Harbor Suite and would have loved to have stayed longer. Bed was very comfortable 2 person spa tub very relaxing and the rooms were very clean..

The B and B was warm and inviting and so were its owners. The rooms had an abundance of natural light and were as clean as a whistle as well as simple and elegant. My room had a view of Lake Superior and was very cozy. I thought the breakfasts were well prepared and the coffee was strong and delicious. It definitely surpassed my expectations and the stay was one of my best yet in this area. It is easy to walk to the Lake and get to restaurants but was quiet and peaceful too. I will never stay anywhere else in Grand Marais.

We stayed in the beautiful Harbor Suite, and were very impressed with the room's appointments. Max and Sherri were very nice, and made sure all our needs were attended to. Would definitely stay here again!

The main building is brand new and constructed as a B&B. The rooms are large and well furnished. (Including a large live plant in each room.) Beds are king size with big pillows. There is a "living room" available to all with giant TV, movies, etc. The breakfast is substantial and well-prepared. Note: there are two separate cabins adjacent and the owners have just purchased an adjacent motel. I think they all are being re-decorated. When they are done, I suspect they will be great too. However, my review does not include them -- only the main building.

Friendly laid back hosts, excellent food, easy coming and going, could use a few more special touches (special shampoo, lotion, conditioner, artist's works displayed, offer of coffee as early as "needed" )
