    Our experience to Ivy Manor and Bar Harbor was exceptional, just what we were looking for! The food and service wer topped only by the quaint appearance of the inn itself. it was like visiting an Old English cottage.

    We had an amazing time at the Ivy Manor Inn in June 2013. The owners made us feel right at home and the dinner we had the night we arrived was amazing. Highly recommend the blueberry pie (it's warm)! The breakfasts were three courses and always delicious and the location couldn't be beaten. We stayed in the Amore room and enjoyed every minute of our stay! Highly recommended.

    The owners were exceptionally welcoming and friendly. The breakfast, although free, was outstanding. And the location right on the main road of downtown Bar Harbor can't be beat. Would absolutely stay there again.

    Feels like your visting old friends...

    John and Christine Poole have done an amazing job resurrecting what was once a stuffy overpriced B&B in downtown Bar Harbor. Christine greeted us as if we were old friends being welcomed into her home. John entertained us each evening with conversation and stories. I felt as if I'd known them all my life and we were just old friends catching up. Our room was welcoming and comfortable, the fireplace and the claw foot bath tub were welcomed treats on what turned out to be a cold and wet weekend. The smell of fresh brewed coffee welcomed us up from our room each morning and the warmth of the sitting room fireplace relaxed us as we sipped our coffee and chatted. We began each day by eating breakfast in a beautiful dining room; it was light and airy and brought elements of the outside in with the natural decor. Christine cooked an amazing breakfast each day, strawberry rhubarb French toast accompanied with cantaloupe and cilantro, eggs in ham cups with a hash brown casserole filled with creamy cheese and onion that brought me right back to one of my most cherished childhood memories. The final day rewarded us with a frittata and candied bacon. The bacon was to die for; it was salty and sweet, crisp and cooked to perfection. We were so impressed with the morning offerings that we chose to dine at the inn on our last evening there. We began with a Sambuca shrimp that was a little sweet for my taste but my dinning partner devoured. John then tempted my palette with a deconstructed crab ragoon dip that made me extremely happy. The wontons were baked to perfection and the dip was full of crab and creamy. Our next course consisted of a stuffed filet and the Ivy Inn lobster. The filet was cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth, it was packed with flavor and made every bite an experience. My lobster was shelled and served in a white sauce that brought out the tender flavors of the lobster. The lobster was tender and luscious as I bit into it.

Rilassatevi sul terrazzo ombreggiato albero, o, in una serata di fredda, godere il calore del camino. Eleganza, privacy e molto tranquillo. Perfettamente adatto per coloro che desiderano il meglio.

    Best place to stay in Bar Harbor. Great value!

    Great place to stay in Bar Harbor, right on Main Street. You can walk to everything. Be careful of other places that say "convenient to town". Some of them were pretty far out. Not much parking in town. Ivy Manor has parking for customers. Great decks on the back offer privacy. Owners were wonderful and worked especially hard to insure that we were comfortable and happy.

    Wonderful breakfast. Right in the center of town so close to everything. Lovely rooms. The hosts (owners) made us feel welcome and comfortable. I would certainly want to return to Ivy Manor if back in Bar Harbor.

    While the location was very convenient to downtown Bar Harbor,and the price was low, and the room was super comfortable to stay and to sleep in, and the dining,both breakfast and dinner, was scrumptious indeed, the best thing about the Ivy Manor to me and my wife were the owners, John and Christine! They were so friendly and helpful with directions to visit and to have local lunches (they do not serve lunch). Our only regret is that we could not stay longer! I would highly recommend this place for staying in Bar Harbor and having a memorable visit there!
