Nice place for the price. Very comfortable. Before we arrived they had already emailed with us about our dietary needs regarding breakfast, which was appreciated. Nice people, room was very clean - mattress and bedding looked brand new.
Would stay again.
[Resource Id: innkeeperresponse, Set: reviews] Thank you for taking the time to review our Inn. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay at The Cornell Inn and the Berkshire region. I'm glad Lance was able to address all of your dietary needs.
We hope you return again for another visit!
Cheers,

We found the rooms very pleasant and clean. The host was extremely friendly and helpful in every way. The grounds were lovely and the location was perfect for our plans.
[Resource Id: innkeeperresponse, Set: reviews] Thank you for the kind words regarding our Inn. I'm glad you had a pleasant time in the Berkshires. Lance is wonderful chef and manager, I'm happy he was able meet your needs. We hope you come back for a visit in the not too distant future.
Cheers,
Nell McCaffery
I thought it was a great place to stay for the weekend. Friendly atmosphere, real close to town. Room was nice, and the breakfast was great!

My husband and I recently stayed at the Lenox over the weekend. The hotel is within walking distance to restaurants and shops in town, the staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms and location were charming. I would definitely recommend it.
[Resource Id: innkeeperresponse, Set: reviews] Thanks for taking the time to write us a kind review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay at the Inn and in the Berkshires. We look forward to your return.

The Cornell is like a little bit of home away from home. The managers dogs in and around, with barking were a bit annoying. I would return to the Cornell. Good value for the price.
[Resource Id: innkeeperresponse, Set: reviews] Thank you for your review of our Inn. I'm glad your overall stay was enjoyable. I'm sorry Lance's dogs were a bit troublesome for you. I too am a dog lover, but excessive barking is not enjoyable for anyone. Since your stay I have talked to Lance about his dogs, whom are very nice. He now has both of them on leash at all times and they no longer will be entering and exiting his residence via the main staircase. We hope to see you back for another visit in the not too distant future.
The Cornell in is conveniently located in town and consists of several buildings. Room was well-appointed, comfortable and everything in the main house was well-kept. Breakfast was very nicely prepared and the caretaker offered to let us use the sitting areas in the inn as long as we needed. Our family stayed in the McDonald house, which has a suite large enough to accommodate a family of five.
[Resource Id: innkeeperresponse, Set: reviews] Thank you for such a wonderful review of our Inn. I'm glad you had an enjoyable stay both in the Berkshires and at the Inn itself. Lance is a thoughtful managaer and amazing chef, we are fortunate to have him as part of our team.
I"m glad your room in the MacDonald House was able to meet your needs.
We look forward to your next visit.

Excellent experience on an early Spring weekend at Cornell Inn. Service was excellent meeting special needs and requests quickly. Breakfast area was spacious and comfortable, food was satisfactory. Definitely an excellent value for the cost in the Lenox area. Recommend it highly
[Resource Id: innkeeperresponse, Set: reviews] Thanks for taking the time to give us such a nice review. We're glad you enjoyed your time in the Berkshires and at the Inn. We hope you will choose to visit with us again.

Clean, comfortable, nice breakfast, friendly staff. Buildings could use some sprucing up. It was appropriately priced.
[Resource Id: innkeeperresponse, Set: reviews] Thank-you for reviewing our Inn. We're glad you had a pleasant stay. Indeed, since we took over the Inn last September all three of the buildings are in need of a "face lift." We are working towards that goal. First we had to take care of some structural items and now we are tackling the exteriors of the buildings and the grounds. We hope you come back for another visit in the not too distant future.
Cheers,
Nell McCaffery
I would definitely revisit the Cornell Inn, Lenox.
The staff were pleasant, helpful with all request, and accommodating at all times.
Breakfast was excellent, my room was very clean, and pleasant.
[Resource Id: innkeeperresponse, Set: reviews] Thank you for the kind review. We're glad you enjoyed your stay with us in the Berkshires. Since taking over the Inn in September, our whole staff has been working on improving the overall satisfaction of the guests' needs as well as making improvements to grounds and buildings. Lance and Karen have some fabulous skills in the kitchen and we are fortunate to have them as part of our team. We hope you come back again for another visit.
Cheers,
Nell McCaffery
The Manager/Chef was very friendly and an outstanding cook. The room in the carriage house was clean and very nicely done as shown in the pictures. Our only complaint was that the whirlpool tub was a bit small. Other then that we had an excellent stay.
[Resource Id: innkeeperresponse, Set: reviews] Thank you for your kind review of our Inn. I'm glad you had an enjoyable stay while in the Berkshires. I'm sorry the whirlpool tub was a bit on the smaller size, but within historic homes there is only so much room to try and update with more modern ammenities. We appreciate your understanding. We hope you come back again for another visit.
Cheers,
Nell McCaffery
Cozy room and breakfast was to die for! Pond was thawing and we got to see fish coming out of their dormancy. New owners seem very kind.
[Resource Id: innkeeperresponse, Set: reviews] Thanks for taking the time to write us a review. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay with us while in Berkshires. Thank-you for the kind words, we hope you come back for another visit in the not too distant future.

I'm glad I found this B&B, it is a"hidden gem!" We absolutely loved our stay in the Nancy room in the MacDonald House and were impressed by the rich history of the house and the B&B. Lance, the innkeeper, was very gracious and provided us with a nightly log for the fireplace. He is also a great cook...loved those pumpkin pancakes! This was a winter getaway, so we visited the museums--look for the combo packages to save you money. We plan to go back for the full summer experience at Tanglewood. Thanks for the Berkshire hospitality!
[Resource Id: innkeeperresponse, Set: reviews] I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay at The Cornell Inn and your time in the Berkshires. Lance and Karen are amazing chefs and we are lucky to have them as part of our team. While the summmer months in the Berkshires are lovely, I love the calm and simplicity of life here during the winter season. We look forward to seeing you this summer.
Cheers,
Nell McCaffery
Our weekend stay at the Cornell was great. The breakfast was great and the people were friendly. The location was idea. The room was a bit smaller than I expected and as unappealing to the eye as I know it would be, it would be nice to have a small fridge hidden in the room to keep leftovers in from eating out for lunches and dinners. All in all, a great place and I can't wait to stay again!
[Resource Id: innkeeperresponse, Set: reviews] Thanks for taking the time to write a review and give us your feedback. I'm sorry the room seemed a bit smaller than you had anticipated. Yes, it would be nice to have a refrigerator in all of our rooms, but because the buildings are historic and have uniquely shaped and smaller sized rooms that simply isn't a possibility. However, we do look forward to your return visit and hope you will be once again happy with your service and stay.
Cheers,
Nell McCaffery
Wonderful B&B at a very competitive price. Recommended for couples that are looking for a weekend away.
[Resource Id: innkeeperresponse, Set: reviews] Thank you for your kind words regarding our Inn. I'm glad we could provide you with a week-end getaway at an affordable price in these tough economic times. While the Berkshires are beautiful and busy during the summer months, I feel Lenox is a hidden gem in the winter as a good respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and a good place to visit many amazing art museums and historic homes.
We hope you come back for another visit!
Nell McCaffery
Beautiful, cozy and affordable B&B in Lenox. Perfect for a weekend getaway! We didn't really interact much with the people there but everyone seemed very friendly. Rooms were small but very pretty and very clean. There was even some candy when we arrived! And the breakfast was pretty tasty and diverse, certainly better than what you'd find at a chain hotel and all for the same price.
[Resource Id: innkeeperresponse, Set: reviews] Thank you for the kind review of our Inn and we're glad you had an enjoyable stay with us during your respite to the Berkshires. I'm glad you enjoyed the candy and found the rooms enjoyble, albeit small compared to today's modern hotels. We hope you come back for another visit as we recently opened our in house pub so our guests can congregate with one another over a pint or two!
Best Wishes
Nell McCaffery
Will come back again. Nice fireplace! They only supply one Durlast log but you can buy more down the street at the 24 hour pricechopper.
[Resource Id: innkeeperresponse, Set: reviews] Thank you for taking the time to review our Inn. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay with us during the winter season in the Berkshires. Since your stay we have decided to provide one complimentary log/evening vs. one's entire stay, as we all know New England winter nights can be a bit chilly. We hope to see you again be it during the summer, fall, or winter.
Best Wishes,
Nell McCaffery
It is a beautiful place with (gay) friendly staff. I really enjoyed the room, the amenities and the proximity to town.
[Resource Id: innkeeperresponse, Set: reviews] Thank you for the nice review. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay with us while visiting the Berkshires. I too like that we are within walking distance of town, but still have some peace and serenity being a bit out of the downtown limits. We hope you come for another visit as the weather is improviing we've purchased new lawn and patio furniture and our in house pub is now open on a daily basis.
Best Wishes,
Nell McCaffery
This inn is a very cute and lovely place. The room (Nancy) I stayed was very cozy and clean in general. May not be spotless, but the inn's laid back and comfortable mood was really wonderful. Don't miss its fantastic breakfast! Finally, its location is terrific for Berkshire tourists.
[Resource Id: innkeeperresponse, Set: reviews] Thank you for your kind words regarding our Inn. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself while staying with us during your visit to the Berkshires. Lance and Karen possess amazing skills in the kitchen and we are fortunate to have them on our team. I'm sorry our Inn a/o your room was not spotless. That's a big no-no for me, as I'm a bit type A. I apprecaite your understanding but have talked to housekeeping about what I expect from them on a daily and weekly basis. I'm glad you enjoyed our casual atmosphere. We hope you come back for another visit as our in house pub is now open on a daily basis and our our rebuilt pond, new patio and lawn furniture will provide wonderful comfort to our guests this spring and summer.

Our stay was absolutely fantastic. The room was warm with an excellent and the breakfasts were wonderful. The inn is located close to lenox but far enough out that it's nice and quiet. When we requested late checkout and needed a place to store our bags on the last day, the front office staff were understanding and accommodating.
Overall, I highly recommend this inn.
[Resource Id: innkeeperresponse, Set: reviews] Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and time in the Berkshires. I'm glad you enjoyed our amazing breakfasts and location. Thank-you for recommending our Inn to others and we hope you'll be back again soon. FYI, our in house pub is now open on a regular basis and our newly rebuilt pond and new patio and lawn furniture will give our guests some extra comfort and relaxation this spring and summer.
Cheers,
Nell McCaffery
Wow from the moment we waled in and met Lance the innkeeper we knew this would be a treat. We arrived late in the day got great advise on resturants and the room was great. Next morning to our delight the breakfast was nothing short of sensational very creative in this bright room overlookng fresh snow.
[Resource Id: innkeeperresponse, Set: reviews] Thank you for your kind words about Lance and our B&B. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay with us while visiting the Berkshires. I'm glad Lance was not only able to help you with local destinations but impress you with his amazing cooking skills. We are fortunate to have him as part of our team.
We hope you come back for another visit. Our in-house pub is now open daily for our guests enjoyment and we know our rebuilt pond as well as new lawn and patio furniture will enhance our guests level of relaxation this spring and summer.

Staff was friendly and help, room was cozy and clean, breakfast was excellent and the price was right. Overall this place gets an A+.
[Resource Id: innkeeperresponse, Set: reviews] Thank-you for such a nice review. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself at our Inn and in the Berkshires. We hope you'll come back for another visit!

Everything in Lenox during the summer is expensive and this place is no different, even if the quality of the room is merely "quaint". No TV, no refrigerator, no desk/table in the room, no place to put your stuff in the bathroom. It was tedious to stay there for more than a day.
[Resource Id: innkeeperresponse, Set: reviews] Thank-you for your review. While your stay at The Cornell was not during our time of our ownership I did want to tell you that we have made significant changes. Since your stay we have put on a new roof, all of our rooms with fireplaces are fully functional, most of the rooms have new AC/Heating units, the majority of the rooms have TV's, (though due to some of the sizes of the smaller rooms and in addition to some people not wishing for TV's in their rooms so do not), we rebuilt the pond, purchased new beds and pillows, as well as lawn and patio furniture. We also upgraded our tolietries and our in-house pub is now open on a daily basis for our guests' enjoyment. Because The Cornell Inn is comprised of 3 historic buildings not all of the rooms have tables, or refrigerators, though some do. I'm sorry you did not enjoy your stay but hope if you did come back to the Berkshires we'd love for you to give us another try.
Best Wishes-

The Cornell is a wonderful B&B! This was our first time staying an a B&B, and it was an outstanding experience. We would do it again in a heartbeat! The room was well maintained and everything about this quaint little Western Massachusetts inn was spectacular! You MUST stay at this inn...
We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Cornell. The breakfast (egg, cheese, and spinach bake) was delicious and the chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon were a lovely surprise. Lance and his family are very warm and welcoming. Highly recommended!
We sought a last minute get away, and found The Cornell! It was wonderful! The breakfast was definitely outstanding, with really special preparation. There was coffee, tea and hot cider all day with cookies in the afternoon. Our room was really lovely, with a wonderful fireplace and whirpool tub, and a deck! It was cozy and really relaxing. The staff could not have done more for us. We will return!
Comfortable, quaint B &B. A little pricey though. Breakfast was a little disappointing. There was a cooked breakfast, but no sausage/bacon, lots of egg dishes and breads.
This was my first time in the Berkshires, and the Cornell in Lenox made this visit absolutely wonderful. We stayed in a suite-like room with the bedroom up in the gallery and a double pull-out downstairs. There was a kitchen and 2 TVs, which made life much nicer. The breakfast at the Inn was amazing and very different both mornings. The place is beautiful and the staff was very warm and helpful.
A couple of notes:
1. The Inn is right off a major roadway, which we could still hear from our window
2. The bed was quite firm and the couch wasn't super comfortable
3. The kitchen was only partially stocked
The Cornell is a great B&B a short distance from the Main Street shops in Lenox. The rooms are very nice and the service is friendly and accommodating. We stayed in the Hannah room, which is 2 floors and includes a fireplace. The breakfast was fantastic every day and had several choices for anyone's appetite or dietary needs.
This place was fine, but nothing else. The breakfast food was good, but the dining room was overcrowded and they were not very quick to replace food. If you came down later on in the service, the buffet was very much 'picked over'. There were tip jars and envelopes left everywhere, despite me finding rubbish from a previous occupant in my room under the bed. Whilst the staff weren't rude by any means, they were not overly friendly for a small inn. There were cookies and cider in the afternoon for example, but no one told us about this: we just happened to find them. To sum up, it was fine but i would not go back.
very charming. Good value for the money Room had fireplace, however they charge $5.00 for a duralog so bring your own. Breakfast first day was good. Second day things were a bit cold, and the seating area is sort of cramped. Over all a great experience!
The breakfast was unbelievable, all seasonal food. We stayed three nights so enjoyed something different every day. Inn is quaint and cozy. Service was prompt and everything very clean.
Nice place, nice owners, good food. We were disappointed that we were told by owner to buy our own firewood for fireplace in our bedroom (especially since we were encouraged at time of booking to book that room for the fireplace). We spent over an hour trying to find firewood in the area because we were unfamiliar with the surrounding area and several places were out. I really think this should have been offered as a courtesy at the B & B.
Our Fabulous Stay at the Cornell over Columbus Day Weekend
Four couples were lucky enough to find availability at the Cornell B&B this past Columbus Day Weekend and we had a wonderful time. The manager Lance, his family and staff were very helpful and accomodating to any request we had. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious and there was always hot cider, coffee, muffins and cookies for us to enjoy during the afternoon !! And we all enjoyed watching the Patriots defeat the Broncos in the Cornell's Pub!! I will highly recommend the Cornell to my friends and family!!
My wife and I took our first overnight trip to the Berkshires recently. We went midweek after peak season. We were looking for someplace reasonably priced, good location, and clean and functional. The Cornell Inn exceeded all our expectations. It is a very warm and friendly Inn and a great location. The breakfast was outstanding. The next time we travel to the Berkshires we would be very happy to stay there again.
We stayed here for a little getaway for our first year anniversary and we will definitely be coming back! We were only there for one night and began calling it "home" when we referred to returning to the Cornell each night after our excursions in the Berkshires. The Inn Keeper was the most friendly, accommodating gentleman and the entire staff made us feel like family. We couldn't have asked for more for our stay and what a value! We'll return with our family to stay in a Suite next year for sure!
I was able to get a great room (Martha) at the Cornell in Lenox last minute for a trip to the Berkshires with my wife. We were greeted warmly even though we arrived late in the evening. Our room as great. Very comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic both days. Home made with a lot of local ingredients. The grounds are very beautiful. The location is great.
The staff at the Cornell in Lenox did a great job helping me with my engagement proposal while I was staying at the inn. They put in extra effort, came up with great ideas, and really helped make it a success.
clean just as described in the web page. The Inn had just changed ownership and there were a few bugs they need to work out. None of these issues had bearing on how we enjoyed the time there. They neeed to up date their computer system, mak
My friends and I throughly enjoyed our stay, the rooms were clean just as described in the web page. The Inn had just changed ownership and there were a few bugs they need to work out. None of these issues had bearing on how we enjoyed the time there. They neeed to up date their computer system, make a few minor repairs on the grounds and some of the deck furniture should be replaced. We plan to return there next summer.
I usually do not enjoy staying at B&Bs and was a bit hesitant when booking at the Cornell. What I was drawn to was the fact that there were several buildings to choose from when picking a room. The grounds were lovely and the breakfast was outstanding. I would recommend fro anyone who is not sure about B&Bs.
Nothing exquisite about this place, nothing awful either. One piece of advice, the road it is on is quite busy, so if traffic bothers you, book a room in the back of the property. The balcony that came with the "Pat" room was unusable due to the traffic noise. Food is so-so. Lots of sweet sticky things, but if you're looking for something a little healthier, this isn't the place.
This was our third stay at the Cornell and it was another perfect visit. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the rooms are clean and quiet and comfortable.
I do love visiting The Cornell and have done so on two occasions! Very friendly, personal, helpful, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very adequate; no complaints! (I was spoiled during my first visit, though, being there during off-season!!)
My room (Rachel) was comfy and included a large bathroom with full shower and jacuzzi. My mattress was firm which is how I prefer it. Everyone on the staff was very accommodating. This is a rare bargain in Lenox, and I'm already planning a return.
We spent a night at the Cornell and I wished I could have stayed longer. The service was friendly and very accommodating.. The breakfast was plentiful and beyond my expectations. Being able to enjoy it outside by the pond and waterfall was a wonderful way to start the day.
I was very impressed by the helpful and positive attitude of the staff. The manager, Lance, is a hard working pleasant gentleman who, when not managing the property, dons a white coat and becomes the chef. In this day and age I think this performance is extraordinary.
The Inn was charming and the staff was very friendly. We felt right at home as soon as we walked through the doors. I'm a bit of a food snob so 3 stars is actually a very good rating for me. The dining staff was enjoyable and fun to chat with which made the experience very relaxing and welcoming. We would definitely chose to say at the Cornell in Lenox on our next visit.
We stayed three nights in "Pat" and had a great time. I'd particularly like to mention Lance, who was very nice, very thoughtful, and very helpful!
Room was fine, and breakfasts were amazing!
Thanks to all at the Cornell.
Very enjoyable visit. Management very involved and proactive. Had reserved the wrong weekend. They were very accommodative. Exzcellent location. Outside physical area is excellent and enjoyable.
We stayed only one night at the Cornell but would stay there again. It has recently changed hands and the new owners are beginning upgrads in several areas. Our rooms were comfortable, and clean and quiet. The breakfast was excellent with several choices on the buffet: pancakes, fritata, potato dish, muffins, bagels, etc. and an abundance of fruit which was particularly good.
Staff was helpful and friendly. The grounds were lovely and on the whole, well kept.
Girls getaway for two nights and theCornell in Lenox worked out great.
Good location to many sights. Rooms were spacious and comfortable.
I stayed in the Mamie suite which was very spacious with two rooms and 2 baths,
only downside was Wifi did not reach to this room. Grounds are well kept
and they are working on painting the exterior of the buildings. We sat on the porch each evening enjoying our wine and cheese. Breakfast each morning was plentiful.
Was pleasantly surprised by the room we stayed in, Hannah. Was a terrific rate for a huge room - duplex with lofted bedroom, kitchen and living room. We had come from a few nights in Williamstown where we stayed in much more standard hotel room for the exact same rate (in all fairness, our stay at The Cornell was on a Sunday, so off peak days). Great place to stay ! I highly recommend!
This inn is ideally situated to enjoy Tanglewood and downtown Lenox. The lovely antique house was comfortable and our room was spacious and well decorated. The innkeepers were very welcoming and helpful. We had a very enjoyable stay.
The inn was lovely and met my expectations. The place is a bit shabby, but a great value and preferred alternative to a hotel. While the staff was friendly, none of them introduced themselves or 'welcomed' us as I've become used to while staying at Inns and B&B's. Be aware that while a great breakfast is provided, the pub and dining room are only open on Friday and Saturday nights....that was very disappointing. Also, the mini fridge in my room did not work and we lost food we had stored there.
Except for some needed exterior maintenance, the physical appearance was very good. The room was very spacious and comfortable - we took advantage of a week day special when all rooms are the same price to stay in one of their largest rooms with a king bed; our 1 complaint was that the TV remote did not work properly because of some vague problem with their provide and our multiple requests for assistance from the rather small staff went unfilled. We particularly enjoyed having our own drinks and meal in their extensive outdoor garden/terrace and enjoyed a delightful and ample breakfast.
Lovely place - nice rooms, lovely sitting areas inside and out - great price, great hosts, convenient to town of Lenox and surrounding area. I would recommend staying here!
We enjoyed our stay at the Cornell. We were there for the James Taylor concert at Tanglewood in July and found the Cornell to be conveniently located. Our room was on the second floor of the MacDonald House and had a lovely deck which we took full advantage of after the concert. The room was comfortable and nicely decorated although the bathroom was small . For the one night we were there it was perfectly adequate for our needs.. The bed was comfortable and we didn't hear any noise from the other rooms in the building. There is a fabulous deck off the main building which was a great place to enjoy cocktails in the evening and then breakfast the next morning. The staff was very nice. We will definitely stay at the Cornell again. Our only suggestion would be that they offer a shuttle service for guests to and from Tanglewood. It would be a nice value added service for the guests.
We stayed in the Martin Van Buren room on Friday night, 13 July 2012.
This B&B is in a lovely setting. There is a pretty landscape in the back year with different deck levels and a small pond. It is a pleasant place to sit in the afternoon or to eat breakfast. Our room was fine, reasonable space with a small but adequate bath. All was well until breakfast. They serve a "quiche" in a large pan that was cool, rubbery, and tasteless. There was also a doughy pancake mass with sausage. There was also fruit--okay--and a choice of cereals--overall very disappointing. They need a new approach to breakfast! Not up to the standards of most B&Bs.
We arranged a stay at the Cornell for my parents as an anniversary gift to them. Our folks are a delightful couple but are not always the easiest to please and have high expectations for service and accommodations. They were more than pleased with the Cornell and I was thrilled with the attention and patience demonstrated by the staff. Kudos!
Our stay was wonderful. The staff was extremely accomodating and friendly. We have been coming for many years and this year was fantastic. We highly recommend this Inn as a great place to relax and enjoy the Bershires!
Needs a facelift. Air conditioner not working and though management tried to fix it, to no avail. No other rooms available. Breakfast room is too crowded with tables with the buffet set up - people are getting their food and walking around the tables while others are eating. Nice that we only had to stay one night despite this being high season.
Stayed 2 nights at Cornell Inn in July in the Rachel Room. The Inn is located close to Lenox and all its attractions, within a walkable distance. Breakfast was great with something different on the menu each morning. Enjoyed the lovely courtyard where you can eat you breakfast, read, or enjoy drinks at the end of the day. Kennedy Park is right next door and provides lots of trails for those interested in the outdoors.
Very convenient location. People friendly and trying to please. Our particular room was dark and rather musty. No opportunity to change rooms but would have if possible
We treated our parents to a weekend in the Berkshires which included a two-night stay at the Cornell. The staff and grounds were just lovely and the proximity to Lenox center was a plus.
Excellet B&B experience! Making reservation was easy on-line. Location was ideal for access to area attractions. Upon arrival, our rooms were available and very inviting...even nicer than appeared in on-line photos. Breakfast was outstanding with a variety of freshly baked pastries, freshly cut fruit, cold cereals, potatoes and egg options. Eating available indoors or outside on the spacious deck. Quiet area, off the main road with plenty of convenient parking. I will stay here again and highly recommend it to others.
My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary in June. The rooms were nicely furnished, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious - so nice to sit on the deck outside and listen to the waterfall. Lance and the rest of the staff were excellent. The location of the inn was central to everything we wanted to see and do, yet it felt relaxing. We can't wait to return.
We enjoyed a week long stay in Barbara located in the main house of the Cornell. The decor was lovely, service was excellent, breakfast was always delicious. The grounds provided many lovely spots to sit and enjoy afternoon conversation. We enjoyed getting to know Lance Fyfe and his family.
We usually stay at a place in town when we visit Lenox, but this year it was fully booked so we had to try another place. What luck! The Cornell had a room and we plan to stay there when we visit Lenox in the future. It is an easy walk into town from the Cornell, so the location is still primo. The room was very nice. We could hear people in other rooms, but that's to be expected in such an old inn. The breakfasts were amazing. Loved the gingerbread pancakes the first morning. The service was also outstanding. We were looking for a trail map of Kennedy Park so we could go for a short hike after breakfast. There was no map, so the woman at the desk went online to get one for us. It was unreadable when printed out, and she directed us to a local bike shop to see if they had a good copy, which they did. When we saw her the next morning, turns out she had also gone to get some maps so they'd be available for others. A great experience, and we will definitely go back!
What a find! Lance and his team are truly the best hosts ever. Nothing was too much trouble, a genuine interest in conversation with you, a minefield of information or else willing to find out if they don't already know. Everyone was so friendly we felt a part of the household from the very first minute. Charming, amusing and very easy going. Above and beyond all expectations. Many thanks Lance, especially for the lifts to the Wedding activities we needed to get to. The umbrellas have already been out advertising in our local town due to the unlimited rainfall we are suffering! Cannot recommend highly enough.
This is one of the best places I have ever stayed at. Every room is incredible and the atmosphere is so great. There is a nice sitting area outside with a coy pond. Each room has its own theme and I got the chance to see many of them. They are all fantastic. I would recommend this B&B to anyone who is staying in the area.
Everything at this place really is outstanding.
Came here for weekend, and it was just like staying ant grandmas house. nice beds, albeit a touch stiff, clean rooms, working AC. Food was good, simple, but delicious.
Owner was exceptionally friendly and fed us home made cookies as soon as we walked in the door, very accommodating. Gave us great dinner recommendations and over all friendly guy.
I would definitely stay here again.
Several of us took over the inn for a wedding. We had four different rooms. I stayed in the Frances. Each of the rooms were clean and comfortable. And I loved the whirlpool tub. There is a coi pond, and chimenela outside for gathering. Lots of nooks and crannies to hang out, and equally the ability to retreat and hide in our respective rooms.
We had a wonderful stay in Lenox. I am sorry I did not plan to stay a longer time. The gardens are wonderful, very peaceful and inspiring!! Everybody was very friendly and the breakfast was varied and delicious. I will come back!!!
Lance and Anna were so sweet and helpful. We had such a nice mothers day weekend. Highly recommend the Cornell Inn for a romantic weekend. And there is a state park just down the hill.
Lance and his staff couldn't be more accommodating! We had a big group and needed breakfast an hour earlier than the usual - a delicious and generous breakfast was served daily with a graciousness we all appreciated. A warm reception and continued investment in the quality of our stay was far superior from the many other B&Bs I have experienced in Lenox. I am looking forward to my next stay at the Cornell. Many thanks, Catherine B.
We've stayed here twice in the last two months because of the great $99/night deal they had on. Each visit was incredibly relaxing, and would have been worth the regular rate. Since it was off season, the inn was quiet, making the stays even nicer. Breakfast was delicious, too, though I'll admit that I missed the bacon from the vegetarian breakfast menu (but appreciate their ethics).
The manager, Lance, was there both times as was incredibly helpful in getting us acquainted with the Inn and the area.
The Cornell is a lovely inn in Lenox, MA. The owners are friendly, the food is phenomenal including the breakfast which is home made by the owner/cook. It is included with the room. The grounds are well kept and beautiful complete with a small water fall and a fish pond. The rooms are clean, spacious and antique. The price is very competitive. Overall great stay! My second time and WILL go back.
The Cornell was great. The room was perfect and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast and the staff were beyond what I expected. If there was any negative it was the closeness to the street and the noise from traffic. I'm sure if you have a room facing the back of the building it would be fine.
My husband and I spent one night at the Cornell as a mini-getaway for our anniversary. We know the village of Lenox and have always liked it, but previously have only been there on y trips. The Cornell rooms are charming and the manager, Lance Phyfe, extremely pleasant. We felt welcome and at home, and hope to return soon.
Me and my girlfriend just spent a lovely weekend at the Cornell. Fantastic Value overall, I would recommend staying in one of the rooms closer to the back however as the street is a bit busy in front.
Otherwise, great and friendly service. Lance is very efficient and available, and makes a wonderful host. He also cooks up a hearty breakfast. I would definitely stay here again!
The Cornell is better than most other B&Bs in the Berkshires and a fraction of the price. The staff is super friendly and accommodating to all special requests. The rooms are average size for a B&B but very clean. Breakfast is superb with the chef open to any special requests (omelets, eggs benedict...etc.).
We were there celebrating our 25th wedding annniversary. The Room was spacious; the Inn was quiet; the grounds were beautiful; the breakfasts were delicious; and the innkeeper bring us a bottle of Champagne really tooped off our stay.
We have stayed in at least 3 other inns in Lenox and this was the nicest!
I was very impressed with the property, beautiful garden, cozy breakfast room. Great selection for breakfast with lots of fresh fruits. I had the Abigail room, the bed was comfortable, the only drawback was the bathroom was tiny! The property was well kept & everyone was very nice. I will definitely come back again
We stayed at the Cornell Inn for just one night for a quick getaway. We loved the location as it is close to the Outlets in Lee, there were several festivals going on in the area, and we loved the setting of the inn.
My boyfriend and I truly enjoyed our stay last weekend. The house was gorgeous and well kept. Michele and Eiran were lovely hosts who were warm and informative. The breakfasts were filling and delicious, especially the cheese and fruit selections! Its in a very convenient location in Lenox right next to a lovely park for hiking. The pub is a great place to cap off a night in town. Ask Michele and Eiran for recommendations of things to do and places to go!

For my husband’s 50th Birthday we stayed at the Cornell Inn – weekend of October 9th, 2010. I have been planning a surprise party for him since April! For several months I was trying to find a B&B that can accommodate a large group of people on 10/10/10 – but it seemed hopeless. Many places were booked ahead of time for weddings, anniversaries, etc. At some point I came across Cornell Inn’s phone number. Immediately, after explaining my problem to Eiran (the manager of the Inn), I found understanding, support and readiness to help. I ended up booking almost the entire Inn for our group. I was in touch with Eiran for almost half a year, seeking his advice for restaurants options and organizational issues. After all, everything exceeded my expectations! When we came back from the surprise dinner party, balloons, champagne, coffee, tea and a wonderful cake made by Michele
(Eiran’s wife) were waiting for us. Most of our group stayed for the entire weekend. Everything was perfect: the rooms, the cleanness, comfort and warm atmosphere. Eiran made an upgrade for some of our friend’s rooms without any additional
charge. Delicious breakfast (mini egg quiches were amazing !) was served every morning in a very sunny charming breakfast room. It was the one of busiest weekends of the year (Columbus Day), yet in spite of that, Eiran and Michele had time and warm words for all their guests. All our friends enjoyed the experience and had a great weekend.
We really felt at home in this B&B. The location is perfect – very close to everything, hiking, kayaking, biking, galleries and charming New England towns. Tanglewood is just around the corner! I highly recommend this B&B, and will come back soon.
"Lay your head in this comfortable and charming inn"
We arrived late on a rainy, chilly afternoon and were met by Lisa who welcomed us with hot apple cider and freshly baked zucchini bread which instantly cheered us. She provided us with valuable info about the area as well.
Michele's breakfasts the next two days were delicious and offered variety. The breakfast room was not overly formal and relaxing. Our hosts were gracious and room was very inviting.
We spent a mid-week stay at the Cornell, and were very pleased with the management, staff and facilities. It will without a doubt be on our itinerary in the future. Great relaxation, day-trips and hiking.
Warm and welcoming hosts; very accommodating. Good location. Beautiful grounds. Beautiful room. Delicious breakfast, especially on Saturday. Free use of computer and phone.

The friendliness and knowledge of the owners and staff were exemplary. The location was very central to all fun activities and the grounds were very well kept. Breakfasts were outstanding and creative. I would like to take the chef home with me.
I plan on coming back same time next year.
I love the Cornell. The innkeeper and his wife are lovely people. The room was very nice, well ventilated (we didn't need to use the ac and it's mid July!), and VERY clean. Breakfast was delicious and accompanied with nice conversation with guests and staff. The yard area offers a wonderful spot to sit and relax by a pond. I highly recommend it!
My husband booked us for the weekend to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We had never stayed in a B&B before. We had a wonderful experience. When we checked in Eiran welcomed us and showed us around the facility and to our room. We stayed for 2 nights. The first night we enjoyed a nice evening at Tanglewood and came back and relaxed in the pub chatting with other guests. Breakfast both mornings was nutritious and delicious! We had mentioned that we were celebrating our anniversary and were surprised with a bottle of champagne in our room. Eiran and Michelle are wonderful hosts and made our first B&B experience so pleasant. We will be back!
My husband and I decided to take a long weekend (July 16-18, 2010) to attend a concert at Tanglewood as part of our 30th wedding anniversary. We were able to book at The Cornell (think we got the last room) at a reasonable price and were also able to book only two nights. Most Inns in the area required a 3 night stay. Eiran, Michelle and Lisa were so friendly and welcoming. They were great about making sure there would be breakfast waiting for us even when we thought our early morning horseback ride would prevent us from making breakfast on time. Breakfast was very good and varied. I especially loved the creme fraiche with french toast. We would go back again in a heartbeat!
My wife and I recently spent two nights at the Cornell for a wedding in Lenox. Our room, the Dolly Madison was spacious and the period furniture enhanced the room setting. The grounds were well maintained, as was the inn. The management were very accommodating, pleasant, and knowledgable. The breakfasts were delicious and there was ample variety. The private bath was nice to have. The only concern was that the toilet was too low. A new ADA approved toilet would have been easier to access. It was also nice to have a bar on the premises and the bartender was personable. The Inn was only a short walk into Lenox center and was scenic. I would recommend the Inn , without reservation, and my wife and I would gladly return.

We wanted a perfect place for to celebrate that would be relaxing, with beautiful grounds and welcoming inside in case the weather wasn't perfect. The room we rented actually looked bigger than the photo on the website and the other photos were better than true to form. Eiran and Michelle were perfect hosts and very easy to get along with. Lisa checked us in and she showed us around and got us settled in. After going out to dinner we returned to find chilled champagne, balloons and candy waiting outside our door. Breakfast was yummy and plentiful. We enjoyed our stay and intend to return. Thanks to Eiran and Michelle from Bob and Judi!

I have only wonderful things to say about my stay at the Cornell Inn. The property is lovely, my room was very comfortable and charming, and the proprietors made every effort to insure that I enjoyed my stay. Oh did I mention that the breakfast was delicious. So go and stay with Michele and Eiran Gazit, and Lisa and feel like an honored guest.
We were at the Inn for a wedding on premises. The staff was incredibly generous with time & attention to our needs & desires. The breakfasts included freshly baked fruit breads, muffins, fresh local fruits & vegetables, wonderful teas and coffee (which were available at all times). Local cheeses were presented as well, including goat cheese which is the only cheese I can eat.
The wedding was organized wonderfully with the same attention to detail as everything else at the Inn. The staff followed the direction of the wedding couple and the event was just lovely.
The staff is more than willing to please and more than capable to do so.
