    Nice Host - Cool old Home - squeaky bed!

    We stayed two nights in the Rose Room, which is one of the less expensive options. Bathroom was roomy and clean, bed was comfortable and cool but very sqeaky (not unexpected from such an old, cool antique piece I suppose). I would recommend bringing a small box fan or maybe a 'white noise' machine if you need background noise to sleep. When you get all settled in the place is VERY quiet! Our host was very gracious despite our late check-in around 10:30pm and I have no complaints. I would recommend a stay here especially if you would like a an historical experience; or if you are just tired of boring hotel and motel rooms! There are also many interesting items spread about the house of historical interest. I especially appreciated the basket of 'freebies' where you can grab some allergy meds or toothpaste if needed.     The special attention we received was great. Telling us about places to eat and visit and also giving what they have heard as favorite places from previous guest. Mapping out everything. Breakfast and company was wonderful. We will be going back soon.

    We thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing get away from home. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of hot water for the big claw foot tub. The food was better than many B & B's that I have tried. Shirley and Chris were very helpful and knowledgable about the area. If you are staying in St. Francisville, I highly recommend the Peach Room at the Barrow House.

    Staying in history in a historic Louisiana village

    Our stay at Barrow House was outstanding overall. We arrived and had an "orientation" by the innkeeper which made the most of our 2 day stay. She pointed out where to go, how far each site was, where to eat and how to prioritize our time. We took her advise and had a great stay. We were also upgraded which was a nice treat. The breakfasts were great - real authentic cuisine, and the we enjoyed a little porch sitting. There were lots of extras - movies, a pictoral history of the house, books about the area, coffee in the cottage in the morning, a refrig stocked with drinks, glassware, etc. Our suite was outstanding with lots of room and antiques. The only recommendation I would make is that the innkeeper has a passion for "bears" and has maybe gone a bit too far with the bear theme. and maybe they could be used in the common areas, but would recommend far fewer in the individual rooms.

    The Epitome of Southern Hospitality

    We recently stayed at the Barrow House when we were in the area for a family wedding. We could not have asked for a better stay! Shirley is a shining example of a Southern hostess, welcoming us into her home, sharing the history of the home and furnishings, being a fantastic cook, sharing her knowledge and insight about the area and goings-on, ensuring that all the guests knew one another, and accommodating our needs. We would highly recommend the Barrow Inn and look forward to a return trip ourselves.

    Great B&B central to some fun attraction

    The Barrow House Inn was a great place to stay - quiet, comfortable, delicious breakfast, and very conveniently located. The Magnolia Cafe, one of the best restaurants in St. Francisville by my estimation, was a fifteen-minute leisurely walk away - a good opportunity to check out the shops and information center on the main street. I would recommend this B&B.

      Da New Orleans: Take I-10 in Baton Rouge. Vicino al ponte del fiume Mississippi, si arriva alla divisione nord I-10 e 110. Prendere n. 110 Quindi prendere uscita 8-C a Natchez, l'ultima uscita fuori 110 N a Highway 61. Si auto a nord di questa strada per circa 25 km e quindi venire a una luce di stop alla periferia della città. Ci saranno diversi segni sul ciglio della strada che punta a sinistra su St Francisville, nonché di una stazione di gas Mobil. Girare a sinistra in questa luce di stop Commerce Street. In circa un miglio, si raggiunge un'altra luce di stop (l'unica fermata luce nella città stessa). Svoltare a sinistra in Ferdinando (la strada principale del quartiere storico) e per circa 3/4 mile in auto fino a quando vedrete il nostro Tribunale sulla vostra sinistra. Barrow House Inn è proprio dietro il Tribunale sulla reale, in modo possibile a sinistra prima o dopo il Palazzo di giustizia e auto dietro di essa. Vedrete la nostra grande casa bianca con un segno verde scuro nella parte anteriore.

    • Indicazioni stradali per raggiungere la struttura:
      INDICAZIONI DAL BTR (AEROPORTO DI BATON ROUGE METROPOLITANA) 1. Girare a sinistra di aeroporto all'uscita dell'impianto. In circa un miglio sul tuo * diritto * sarà la rampa d'accesso a 110-Nord, che è necessario per ottenere su (110-Nord è la superstrada attraverso Baton Rouge). L'ingresso non è ovvio che, soprattutto di notte. Semplicemente tenete gli occhi aperti per esso. Una volta su 110-N, prendere uscita 8-C a Natchez, che è l'ultima uscita. Un piccolo segno sul ciglio della strada sulla destra leggerà "San Francisville questo Esci". 2. Vi saranno quindi sulla Highway 61, che va a nord al Francisville St. Sarà guidare su questa strada per circa 25 km e quindi venire a una luce di stop alla periferia della città. Ci sarà un distributore di benzina Mobil sulla vostra sinistra, così come diversi lati su strada su Francisvile St. 3. Svoltare a sinistra alla fermata di questa luce Commerce Street, una strada tortuosa che passa il nostro ospedale locale. In circa un miglio, si raggiunge un'altra luce di stop (l'unica fermata luce nella città stessa). Questo è l'intersezione di commercio e Ferdinando Streets. 4. Svoltare a sinistra su Ferdinand Street (la via principale del quartiere storico) e per circa 3/4 mile in auto fino a quando non si vede il Palazzo di giustizia sulla vostra sinistra. 5. Il Tribunale è un rosso-mattoni da costruzione con colonne in bianchi e nero rame campanile. Grace Episcopal Church e la sua ' cimitero sarà sulla vostra destra, di fronte al Tribunale. Il cimitero è un recinto di ferro battuto lungo, nero con diverse arti di quercia vivi albero appesa sopra la strada. 6. Barrow House Inn è direttamente dietro il Tribunale sulla reale, in modo possibile a sinistra prima o dopo il Palazzo di giustizia. La locanda è una grande casa bianca con un albero enorme quercia vivi all'angolo di Johnson e reale. Semplicemente a piedi fino alla porta e suonare il campanello. :) 7.
