My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Raynell and Luis are wonderful hosts. Location could not be better. Very quiet. Rooms are nicely decorated. Great breakfast. Only a couple of miles from the French Quarter. Plenty of nice bars and restaurants in locality.
If you are looking for somewhere central that is clean, comfortable and reasonably priced, this is the place to be.
I really enjoyed my stay at the garden district bed & breakfast. Raynell is an excellent host, if you are looking for that Old Southern hospitality this is the place to stay. I highly recommend it. The room was very clean, economical and Raynell can recommend a lot of nice tours and places to eat in New Orleans.
Had an enjoyable stay there. Raynell and Luis are very gracious Innkeepers. My room was comfortable and the in room breakfast met my needs. If you want a big breakfast, go to Magazine Po Boy located about 1/2 block from the B&B. Location great for shopping and eating on Magazine Street, visiting WWII Museum and The Zoo, as well as access to many other New Orleans sites. Highly recommend.

Visited April 2010. E-mail contact beforhand was very helpfull. When I got there felt I had already been welcomed in. Very plesant stay in quiet neighbourhood. Only a couple blocks from trolley into French Quarter. Walked to Quarter first night. Not all that far. Im 64 yo. Raynell Is a very nice and helpfull lady. Raynells recomendations for swamp tour and places to eat were spot on.
This place is truly wonderful. Ray and Luis were so friendly and helpful with anything we needed, including recommendations on good places to go or eat, etc. The building is a beautiful old home with hardwood floors, great furnishings, high celings, fans (and air conditioning--a necessity in June in New Orleans!). Our room (rooms, actually) were large, with a bedroom with a comfy bed, a dresser and desk and a separate sitting room with a daybed, refrigerator, microwave, and huge windows that opened onto a front 2nd-story porch where we sat in the evenings and looked out over Magazine Street.
The location can't be beat--cross the street into the shady, tree-covered Garden District to see the old beautiful mansions. 5 blocks to the St. Charles Streetcar, or catch the bus in front of the building to get to the French Quarter or beyond. Not that you even need to leave the area, as there's plenty to do right there on Magazine, with shopping, coffee shops, gelato and ice cream, restaurants and bars. Before this stay, I'd only ever stayed in the French Quarter--what a difference to stay in the peace, quiet and beauty of the Garden District!
New Orleans is an amazing place, and I can't think of a better place to make your home base than the Garden District Bed and Breakfast. We will definitely be back again!
My husband and I spent 7 nights here in March 2010 and it was wonderful. The house is charming, the room was spacious, clean and the bed was comfortable. The in-room refrigerator and microwave provided the means for us to eat and drink 'in' if we didn't want to go out. However, if we did want to go out, there are plenty of great restaurants & bars within walking distance or an easy bus or streetcar ride away. We spent lots of time walking around the Garden District looking at the beautiful homes and gardens, as well as checking out all the shops on Magazine. Owners Luis and Raynell have exceptional customer service skills and are very accomodating as well as knowledgable about things to do, etc. We go to New Orleans every year and we will absolutely be staying here!
We stayed here one night and would stay again. Our room was perfect-loved the balcony and extra sitting room. Bed was very comfortable and breakfast was as advertised and very nice. Everything was clean and well maintained and we thought a great place to stay. The inn owners were very nice and helpful with directions and places to eat. The Magazine St. area is a lovely part of town, and this Inn adds to the charm of a New Orleans visit. Thanks
The Garden District B&B was a nice place to base our stay in N.O. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and not too "fru-fru" as you often find in B&B's. An in room fridge with water and a light breakfast in the room were perfect for us. We thought is was a good value for the price.
The location is excellent with dining, shopping, and bars within walking distance. Also, Audubon Park, the French Quarter and other local sites are just a short bus, street car, or cab ride away. The owners are very accommodating, gracious, and knowledgeable about New Orleans. They have created a comfortable homey atmosphere that expresses the essence of the city.
I recently stayed at the GDBnB and really enjoyed my stay there. It was a great location within walking distance of shopping, dining, and drinking. The owners were very friendly and attentive to our needs. I will be staying there the next time I venture to the Big Easy
I was very impressed wtih the hospitality I received at this B&B!!! It was very charming and tastefully decorated, and very comfortable. Ms. Dunham made me feel right at home.
