Great room,close to streetcar and walking distance to everything,Owners are very friendly and helpful .We loved this place. No Dinning but breakfast is o.k.

My husband and I stayed here for a quick little getaway since he had never been to New Orleans. I didn't want to spend a fortune by booking a hotel nearby so we decided to go with a bed and breakfast. After searching a few hours for a great place, I found Fairchild House. The price was great and almost seemed too good to be true. When we arrived, the host was very helpful and sweet and guided us on where to park (which is gated and locked - very comforting). She then led us to our room which was quiet and dainty. The house is old so don't expect top notch quality. But it was great for the price! We found the area to be pretty quiet too which was nice after a long day of walking in the French Quarter. Also, the streetcar is located a block away which was extremely nice. When morning came we headed downstairs to the breakfast room where the host greeted us and welcomed us to the continental style breakfast. Nothing too fancy but we enjoyed it. Overall it was a lovely stay. No complaints here.

My boyfriend and I had a great week away here last month. This was our 3rd trip to New Orleans and our first time in a "bed and breakfast." We absolutely loved it here and plan to stay here again on our next trip. I think some of the people who have stayed here and have given it bad reviews are just too picky! The breakfast consists of bagels, toast, fresh fruit, coffee etc. It is nothing extravagant and it certainly doesn't claim to be. We started our mornings off with a cup of coffee there and then went on to eat breakfast else where because I LOVE beignets and can't get them anywhere in MO. Also there is a great breakfast place called the blue plate a block down the road. The room was perfect for us! I didn't mind the A/C as others have complained about being noisy. The house is a musty old smell but what do you expect in a 100+ year old building?!? Besides, we didn't spend much time in our room as we were out enjoying ourselves anyway. Beatriz and her mother are very sweet and make you feel welcomed. I also felt extremely safe at the Fairchild. Everything is locked and even our car was in a locked gate. There is also some kind of officer that stayed and patroled the neighborhood every night we were there. Great location as well!!!!!

We had a great time at Fairchild House during our stay in NOLA for Jazz Fest. Beatriz is very friendly and we loved the yards. Wish breakfast service was a little longer than 1 hour, but other than that can't complain!

This was our first stay at a bed and breakfast. My hubby had a business meeting on Monday, and since we had never been to New Orleans we decided to make it into a mini get away. Unfortunately, I did not know that Jazz Fest was taking place, but stumbled upon the Fairchild B & B after much searching for reasonably priced accomodations. We had no difficulty in locating the Fairchild, and were happy to have secured off-street parking for our car. The room was comfortable, clean and both my husband and I slept like rocks each night. The rooms have "character" and "charm". The highlight or our stay was going down for breakfast each morning and chit-chatting with the Beatriz and her mother while enjoying coffee. My husband and I are both early risers and Beatriz let us slip in for "early" coffee. Breakfast was fabulous with breads, jams, fresh fruit and then a warm prepared breakfast dish. A wonderful way to start off each morning. The location of the Inn is fabulous, you are within walking distance of everything, and the trolley is one block away. Restaurants are abundant ranging from high end fine dining to a pizza joint. We had a great time in New Orleans, and the entire experience was enhanced by the Fairchild B & B. I can't wait to return in the Fall. Thanks Beatriz and Rita!

Enjoyed at Beatriz' and Rita's B&B. Delightful atmosphere, both in the room and with the breakfast room where there was plenty of foods to choose from. Healthy choices, too. Our room and bathroom was immaculately clean and had everything anyone could want for a two-night stay.
