"My wife and I along with another couple recently stayed at High meadows for 2 nights. We did our own vinyard and brewery tour in this beautiful part of VA. High Meadows is a nice setting with a small vinyard (pinot noir) on the property. Some nice grounds to walk around. We made new friends with the two outdoor cats, a peacock, and some pretty cool chickens. The place is quite old and unique. Rooms were very clean and nicely decorated. Our bed was comfortable and the place was nice and warm. Breakfast was wonderful both days. We also got a cheese platter on our first night that was nice. The wine, different cheeses, and fruit were a nice mix. The manager Nancy was very nice and full of info about the area and the historic property. I have stayed at many B&B's and not all of them can pull off making you feel "at home" comfortable like High Meadows did. Great place! Highly recommend staying there. Also, Scottsville had a couple of decent restaurants/bars just down the street from High Meadows!"
