Blackberry Buttermilk Buckwheat Waffles

  • 1 1/2 cups Buttermilk Pancake/Waffle Mix
  • 1 1/2 cups Whole Buckwheat Flour
  • 2 cups Whole Milk
  • 3 Eggs
  • 4 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 8 oz Fresh or Frozen Blackberries
  • 1 1/2 cups Water

  1. Mix up buckwheat flour, buttermilk mix, milk eggs, and olive oil with a whisk. Blend frozen berries and 1 1/2 cups of water in blender and then add to mix.
  2. Blackberry Buttermilk Waffle mix will last up to one week in the refrigerator. Do not over pour the mix in your waffle iron. Usually I pour the mix to about an inch of the mix spreading to the edge. Let is couple a few minutes till a nice golden brown.
  3. Toppings: Honey, Maple Syrup, Blueberry syrup, Fresh Strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, pine nuts and of course Whipped Cream.
  4. I use the Vitantonio Premier Five-of-Hearts Waffler. This waffle iron is great at the waffles are thinner and lighter. The hearts can also be separated when sharing. Couples really love them.
