Small villa with only four rooms for maximum of ten people that is approx. 15 mins drive from Ubud centre. Villa charges IDR 100k for a return transfer to Ubud with a 10 seater car. Rooms are spatious, due to the location there´s no need to use aircon. All the staff were really friendly, helpful and looked after us really well. Ideal place for relax and enjoying magnificent views of the forrest and rice fields from a infiniti edge swimming pool that was reasonably sized. If you want to dine you have to let the kitchen know in advance as they don§t keep a stock of food but after the notice they go to the local market to buy fresh stuff and prepare it for you. For our last dinner we ordered 4 ducks and it was delicious. The food little bit pricey compared with prices in Ubud city. Suprisingly not too much issues with insects. Definitely would return back if I´m back in Ubud area.

Villa Santai is a beautiful place to stay with family or friends. We enjoyed the superb food, beautiful sunset and views, friendly staff and the spacious rooms. Nice to wake up with the sounds of the jungle. Maybe not a place to stay a week or more but absolutely worth it to spent some days during your stay at Bali.

I read a few amazing reviews and the photos on the website also looked amazing. The villa is 15 years old, so in it's day it would have been more impressive. It seemed like the villa needs a bit of work. The setting and the staff were great. The food at the restaurant was quite expensive. We were only there a few nights.

Thank you for posting a review and I'm very sorry that your expectations were not exceeded. We are entirely at fault for having guests stay at the villa during our extensive renovation, as it is difficult to suspend reconstruction and expect that it will go unnoticed by our guests. We have now learned that that in the future we simply must complete the projects that we commence, while suspending guests accommodation activity, in order to maintain our standards. I recognize from your review that the service was not an issue, which is nice to hear. Great service has always been our halmark and it would be very discouraging to hear otherwise, as we have only received high praise and compliments in the past. I do understand how the villa could have looked in disarray. I hope that you were able to still enjoy your holiday with us. As far as the food prices, we only charge cost plus 35% preparation fee plus tax. There is not much flexibility in this area, as it is mostly a breakeven venture that we undertake in order to please our clientele. I do know that food grocery costs are up 150% in Bali over the past 3 years, which might help explain things. Again, my sincere apologies. London Perry
