We have stayed at the Wicker Park Inn enjoying the Cape Cod, Wicker Park, and the Garden Apartment. All of which were wonderful rooms. We did stay at the Tuscan this last time and found it extremely noisey. The Inn was booked and only one available. So wanting the closeness of the Inn to activities we booked the room. Please know that if you are a very heavy sleeper this room will not be a problem for you at night. As the "L" run quite frequently at night right outside the building. We knew this going in though did not image how noisey it was going to be. All in all we will return to the Wicker Park Inn as it is a extremely friendly, clean, and the value is outstanding. If time time premits, we will book very early for our next trip.
Stayed in apartment unit; not the Inn.
Breakfast not provided. All other ratings outstanding.
Since you do not have a NA category I
checked unsatisfactory for food but I was aware of this
ahead of time and this is not a criticism.
The guest room includes a spacious king bed with large down pillows ensuring a restful sleep. As a light sleeper, I typically have a difficult time sleeping somewhere new. With the guest room, I fell asleep and remained sleeping throughout the entire night. I did not wake up to the train, but that could be because of the location of the room, which is located on the first floor near the door. The room is always kept neat. If you are out all day, when you return home, the bed is turned and new towels are in the bathroom. The shower never gets hot, but if you prefer warm showers, you will not be disappointed. The breakfast at the Inn is a typical continental breakfast stocked with a fresh fruit platter, coffee, tea, cereal, oatmeal, bagels, cream cheese, and the occasional ham and cheese croissant or hard boiled egg. Unfortunately, there is no place to make a hot breakfast like scrambled eggs and bacon. However, the breakfast is nice, but I recommend waking up early to get the best selection. I recommend staying at this quaint Inn and reserving the guest room for the best sleep.
We stayed in the Chicago room and the pictures did not do it justice. It was extremely spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable! Hosts were friendly and helpful and the food was the best we encountered in similar style B&Bs in the US. The only downside was that our room was not serviced daily but we assume this was an oversight and didn't really impact on our stay. Next time we are in Chicago we will definitely return without a doubt.
We rented the 3-bedroom apartment for our 3 night stay in Chicago for 3. We were joined by our daughter and her finance the last night. It exceeded our expectations. It was comfortable and quiet, nestled between Milwaukee and North Division. With so many fine restaurants nearby, we didn't cook but snaked and made coffee in the morning (supplied by the Inn, along with creamers and sugar).
We would highly recommend the Wicker Inn and will no doubt plan to stay again on our next trip.
For anyone wanting to visit Chicago proper, especially if you are driving, this is a great stay. We had no difficulty with parking. It is a wonderful, picturesque neighborhood, centrally located. We especially liked our room with our own entrance.
We recommend the Wicker Park Inn to anyone visiting the area. The room was comfy, the breakfast was tasty and the service was outstanding. We plan to return again this year. Thanks to Robin for her hospitality.
Great room, terrific location, warm and helpful staff. I had to book an additional night due to cancelled flight, and was glad to have such a good place to stay over an extra day.
We stayed at the Wicker Park Inn February 20-22. I couldn't have imagined a better experience. I would HIGHLY recommend it to any visitors to the Chicago area. The location is perfect for going to the United Center or downtown, which is easily accessible both by car and train. We were greeted by Robin and let into our room at 2pm. She provided stickers to park on the street and we were always able to find a spot very close. Upon arrival, we were given maps and tips about the best local places to visit. The bed was comfy. The closet is large and extra bedding, an umbrella, and ironing board were provided. The kitchen is nice and there is anything you need provided for cooking. There was even coffee already there for you! The bathroom is small but very clean. Cable is provided. On Thursday, the housekeeping asked if we wanted fresh towels or bedding but we declined. It snowed heavily from Thursday to Friday. Walkways and sidewalks were promptly cleared! In the Blue Line room you can hear the Blue Line train as it passes throughout the day and night. I suppose if you are a light sleeper this could be bothersome but it did not disrupt myself or my partner at all. I liked that the room felt very private (the entrance is around the back of the Inn). The area around WPI is young. We enjoyed just walking around and exploring. The Inn is close to the Blue Line station, which took us downtown quickly. The neighborhood definitely felt safe day and night. I would highly recommend this Inn over a hotel experience. Our room was like having our own efficiency apartment in a good neighborhood of Chicago for a few days. After walking around and exploring, it felt like coming home at the end of the day. I was very impressed and look forward to returning to WPI this summer. This place has definitely earned my loyalty for future Chicago visits.
We recently stayed at the Wicker Park Inn for four nights while visiting our son, who lives three blocks away. The Bucktown apartment was perfect for our needs! It was nice and roomy, and we were able to spread out and really settle in for our stay. We loved having our own kitchen for a quick breakfast in the morning, and the fridge was handy for snacks and drinks. The free parking was a huge bonus! The Wicker Park Inn was a wonderful alternative to a large, pricey hotel. We will definitely be back!
location, close to all the wonderful restaurants and shops in wicker park
Our stay in the garden apt was a wonderful time spent. we loved the large area and kitchen to cook. It was a perfect place for my husbands birthday. our son llives in wicker park so we wanted to be close to him and still have fun on our own. wonderful quiet street (the L didn't bother us at all) we loved the deal we got in the winter which allowed us the bigger room. we looked at the b&b rooms across the street and will try next time. the staff was wonderful, friendly and helpful. We got suggestions for local coffee shops a block away and great restaurants! la Bouchon amazing and Big Star for a great mexican (mixing with young and older)
a real find for us and definitely we will be back again and again
The Wicker Park Inn is a lovely B&B in the heart of Wicker Park. I often travel to Chicago but have usually stayed downtown but decided this time to stay in a residential neighborhood. I was not disappointed. Access to downtown was easy via the train, but Wicker Park has so much to offer including cute boutiques and excellent restaurants that I didn't feel much need to make the quick trip. My room (Cape Cod) and attached bath were very comfortable, clean and attractive. The staff were terrific - friendly and full of great advice. I loved that breakfast was available quite late so I didn't feel the need to "rush" out of bed. If you want to get to know a real Chicago neighborhood that has much to offer, you definitely cannot go wrong staying at the Wicker Park Inn.
My business partner and I were in town for a professional development class and stayed at Wicker Park Inn. The room was very clean, we enjoyed our own private entrance and the continental breakfast. Staff was very nice. Short walk to all that's happening in Wicker Park. The room was a little loud, but we weren't use to being in a big city. I would definitely stay there again.
My family and I stayed in the Bucktown Apartment, which is separate from the rest of the B&B. We found it to be a great value, and we wanted to be in the Wicker Park neighborhood to be close to family.
The apartment was much nicer than the photos had led us to believe.
We did have a few minor problems. The front bedroom (the largest) was incredibly cold at night. The rest of the apartment stayed warm. While I understand that it's winter in Chicago, there are steps to take to make sure the room stays warm enough to at least sit in comfortably in a sweater. Also, there was a nail sticking out of one of the floorboards in the living room that we had to be constantly aware of (a couple of us lost socks). Finally, the housekeeping on the weekend was sloppy, with nothing getting replenished. On Monday everything was great.
I'd probably stay here again.
The room was extremely nice, the service was good, breakfast was perfect for our needs and it was wonderfully quiet during the entire time we were in the inn. It is also close to so many things in the city, so it was an ideal location.
We stayed in the Bucktown apartment during a weekend in January. It fit our needs perfectly and is a great alternative to a high rise chain hotel! It was very comfortable for our group of 5 and had everything we needed. We will definitely stay in the Wicker Park Inn again! Didn't have breakfast included, but there were a lot of great places to walk to for meals and a well equipped kitchen.
We found this place by accident, but it was a pleasant surprise. The staff was accommodating and the neighborhood was great. I took several walks throughout the neighborhood during my stay and enjoyed myself.
My stay at the Wicker Park Inn could not have been any more perfect. Robin was incredibly helpful, and kind--the perfect host; and the apartment I stayed in was absolute perfection. Not only was the place spotlessly clean, but it was well decorated and felt cozy. Another thing I was incredibly impressed by were all of the things available to me in the apartment, from having coffee on hand, to even having those towelettes we women use to take off our makeup--it was all there, which made me feel well taken care of. There's no other place I'll be staying when I come back to Chicago--I can't say enough good things about the WP Inn.
Centrally located to some excellent bars, restaurants and transportation. Laura is super friendly. Clean and comfortable accommodations. Staff was great. I stayed in the blue line studio. Private entrance, full kitchen, and nice patio. Room backs to the el, but the way its situated I didnt hear a thing. Highly recommend.
We stayed three nights on one of the most uncomfortable mattresses I've ever experienced. There was never truly hot water for showers, and the walls were so thin we could hear entire conversations of our neighbors. I can only assume the innkeepers do not like their guests, as the one and only time we saw an employee was when they wanted a credit card for payment. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. Rather than the typical decadent breakfast most B&Bs serve, breakfast was identical each day and nothing hot was offered. It centered largely around store-bought pastries and cold fruit. The inn was conveniently located to friends we were visiting, but I would not recommend it to anyone looking for the comfort of a B&B experience.
Very pleased with the Wicker Park Inn. Breakfast was not included, which we knew in advance, and we did have a full kitchen available to us. The room was very nice and clean. The only thing that concerned us was that we had no control over the temperature in the room. But, we were comfortable at all times.
We had an excellent stay at the Wicker Park Inn. The Wicker Park room is cozy with a king canopy bed. The television is small and gets Direct TV service. The bathroom was very clean and had new fixtures. Not much space for toiletries but we made do. Parking is on-street and requires use of the inn's temporary parking passes. We had no trouble parking right in front of the inn, but we arrived mid-afternoon and didn't move our car until we checked out. If you're arriving at night, we noticed that parking was much tighter in the neighborhood after 6pm, so you may have to circle the block a few times to get a spot. The neighborhood itself is delightful. The residential streets were quiet and seemed to be populated by young families and professionals. The residential areas were very clean and kept-up. The main streets of the business district had every shopping and dining option you could imagine. We didn't eat in the Wicker Park Inn because we're not really breakfast people.during those hours. When it was breakfast time at 7:30, sleeping became impossible. Fortunately, we didn't want to sleep much later than that anyway. The only other noise was the El train, which came by at regular intervals during the day and evening. I never heard it in the middle of the night, and I am a light sleeper, so it must not be running during those hours. The inn is close to the Damon blue-line stop, so if you're going to the Loop and other downtown attractions, it's very convenient.
All in all, we highly recommend Wicker Park Inn to young (age 20s-40s) couples like us who are vacationing in Chicago. We think you will love it, too.
Great location, fun and well-informed staff, all-around good place to stay. BUT - the elevated train is right out your window - so its great for train geeks and heavy sleepers!
This was a very quite, serviceable. B&B perfect for a business traveler or visitor that knows Chicago well. It is in a residential area that has close access to public transportation, many local eateries and artist targeted businesses. It is located in the newest "hip" area of Chicago.if you don"t care to walk to public transportation then the prepared to take a taxi to your destination. If you are new to Chicago and want to explore the downtown you would be better staying near attractions you plan to view. The Inn itself is very clean and hospitable. The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable. I would ask for any extras like more towels ,pillows etc. at check in or before arriving as there is some delay via phone especially on a weekend stay. They do respond but the manager did admit that on weekends all messages go to voicemail first. The manager was very friendly and helpful to first time visitors like us. The common kitchen was well stocked with standard essentials. A satisfying simple breakfast is available . A common refrigerator can be used for special private items. Depending on the habits of the other people staying there my require noise tolerance . We had early risers when we were there who were part of a family event . The conversations in the common area/next door room were very audible in our room . Conversely, you would be smart to remember this while you are in your room when you are having conversations or doing activities that you want privacy to be maintained. All in all we enjoyed staying here and felt as if we were staying at a home of a friend/relative of a mutual friend.
The apartment is a perfect fit for us because it is close to our family. The apartment is spacious and includes what we need. This was our second stay, and we expect to continue staying at the Wicker Park Inn when we visit Chicago.
Too short getaway to Chicago. Wicker Park is an eclectic neighborhood with hip bars and great options for dining. The Inn is a short walk to the Blue line station so we were 20 minutes from all the great museums and parks of the Windy City. Our room was spotless, with a private bath w/shower, and a full red brick wall with wood-burning fireplace. Every morning we'd go upstairs to the common room for coffee and a great breakfast with fresh rolls, scones, and croissant breakfast sandwiches. There was always yogurt, cereal and toast available throughout the day. Robin, our host, was very friendly, and because she lived in the area, was very helpful to clue us in on great places to eat and drink in the area. Looking forward to going back soon.
We had a great time. There are numerous great vegan restaurants in the general vicinity and access to the L makes transportation a breeze. We are definitely planning to stay at the Wicker Park Inn in the future.
we will come again. amazing place and such a wonderful experience, walking distance to EVERYTHING but tucked in away from traffic. look forward to staying again next time we come to the Wicker Park area!
I stayed in the 3-bedroom bucktown apartment which is across the street from the main B&B. It was lovely to have an entire home to myself for the rate the downtown hotels want for one tiny room! Laura and Robin were attentive and responsive to my requests. The wicker park/bucktown neighborhood has a great vibe: plenty of places to eat and drink, quirky thrift stores, fun shops, art galleries, and plenty more. I'm looking forward to staying here again on my next trip to Chicago! The only think I can't comment on is the food served at the B&B since the apartment comes equipped with its own kitchen and breakfast is not included. Between the cafes/bars/restaurants, independent grocers, and walgreens/7-11, I had plenty of food options.
Other than having our catalytic converter stolen, the neighborhood was quite charming. Only real negative was the lack of internet service and the trouble with keeping a call on our cell phone. Reception was very poor. The people we met were very nice. The accommodations were lovely, the bed quite comfortable, and everything very clean.
We stayed in the Bucktown Apartment. There were 5 adults in our party. The Inn is in a great neighborhood with many options for food and coffee. Easy to get to public transportation - trains & buses. Rooms were very comfortable. A/C worked well and there were some ceiling fans, too.
The Wicker Park Inn is very comfortable, run by lovely people and is in a great location, too. The breakfast was good, too, especially when you head out for a long day walking around the city and museums!
I'd highly recommend this and will definitely stay there again!

We found the wicker park the night before we arrived on Yelp. What a great place Ina perfect neighborhood. The manager was really friendly and as we were travelling with a car load of stuff it was comforting knowing we had safe street parking at night. We'd recommend this to any of our friends and family.
We stayed here because our daughter lives in Wicker Park and we came to see her for a visit. We stayed in the Garden Apartment and it was perfect. Quiet, clean and the small kitchen allowed us to cook a full meal for our daughter and her friends. We were close to everything and we parked the car right on the street for free, which was great. We will be staying here again! Excellent!
The Wicker Park Inn is a very pleasant and comfortable B&B very conveniently located in downtown Chicago; very nice neighborhood, good restaurants, close to public transportation. We enjoyed our one night stay in a clean but small room, but did feel there was not the attention we are used to at B&Bs we have stayed at before. Maybe that's the "Urban" way: I do recommend the Wicker Park Inn as a clean, comfortable B&B in a very trendy neighborhood in Chicago, but don’t expect a great breakfast or cookies or pie….chatty, informative care takers you may be used to.
A very good B&B. Very close to the metro line and to Division street with very good restaurants. Trendy neighbourhood and safe to go out at night. Friendly staff.
My wife and I stayed here on a weeknight for a getaway from the kids, a baseball game, and to check out all the various shops, restaurants, and bars in the Wicker Park/Bucktown area. These were easily accessible from the Inn, which was tucked away on a quiet side street. Our room (the Garden Apartment) did not come with breakfast, however the owner offered us some of the remnants (fruit, pastries, etc.) during our early check-in, which was very nice of them. Overall the room and service were great, better than I expected. The area of town was good for us too - plenty do to and at the same time close to the train. We decided to stay in the area a second night, which ended up being at the nearby Ruby Room (WPI was full or we would have gladly stayed there again). While both places were great in their own unique way and we would easily stay at either of them again, WPI would be my first choice. My wife and I had a wonderful trip and hope to do it again someday.
We have stayed at the Wicker Park Inn several times and have always had a clean and comfortable room, pleasant breakfast and relaxing stay. The side yard offers a quiet outdoor spot to read the paper in the morning and the location near Milwaukee is very convenient. With the Parking Permit furnished by WPI, we found free parking spots at all times of the day and night. So much better than staying downtown!
There are no individual temperature controls in the rooms; the temps outside were in the 90's. So in order to keep the upstairs rooms cool enough, the Tuscan room was extremely cold. There was an extra blanket for the bed, but getting out of bed to take a shower was a chilling experience!
Parking was a problem. Permits for on-street parking are provided. However, about three spaces directly in front of the B&B are designated "loading zone" and allow 30-minute parking only - 24/7. We came home after 10 pm and there were no available spaces at all on Wicker Park Av.
Breakfast was adequate, similar to what you get at Hampton Inn or Best Western, without the hot entree option.
I love the sound of the El so having it so near was comforting for me. Possibly not everyone would appreciate it.
In spite of preceding negative comments, I'd give the Inn a B grade. It's adequate lodging, the rooms are lovely, clean, and well kept up.
The room was large & clean. However there were 2 questionable items.First, for $199 which is the cost of a downtown hotel with good amenities, I thought that breakfast should be included I saw the breakfast and it was $3 - $ 4 worth of food at most.Because I had a kitchenette room, this breakfast was not included.Since I was staying just one night, it was not practical for me to bring in breakfast supplies.A big box of cereal or a loaf of bread & a jar of jam plus buying a lb. of coffee for one night ... that's silly. Also, there were too many steps and half steps in this Garden Apt.I'm almost 70 and I had a huge fear of falling in the middle of the night. This room with a wide central pillar was too dangerous for me.Luckily I carry a flashlight. And if I tripped going to the bathroom at night, I'd break my head or teeth on the 2 inside steps.I probably won't be coming back.
Given the limited number of lodging options in the Bucktown/Wicker Park area, the Wicker Park Inn is a satisfactory choice. We stayed in the downstairs room which was clean and a nice size. Located in an area convenient to shops, restaurants, and bars. Located on the Blue line, which goes from/to O'Hare.
Negatives:
This is a converted house so it can be noisy; especially on the last morning the person in the room above was walking back and forth continually for at least an hour, and we heard every step. The breakfast was disappointing - basically comparable to Comfort Inn with fresher fruit but no waffles. Central air and heating can't be controlled by guests - was freezing first night/morning but better the next 2 nights.
Notwithstanding problems, would stay here again.
We stayed in the Wicker Park room for four nights in July. The inn is clean and the room was spacious, breakfast was simple but filling. Robin was helpful with any questions we had. If you like a "do-it-yourself" type arrangement in a convenient location in Chicago, this is a good choice.
My fiancé and were looking for a cute little place to stay in Chicago to celebrate our four year anniversary. Given the location and amenities, the price was a steal, and it was an amazing experience. The room was comfortable, the bed was the most comfortable bed I or my fiancé had ever slept in. I took off marks for cleanliness only because as we were packing to leave I saw some trash left under the bed from a previous guest. Other than that the place was spotless. The breakfast was much more than I expected. The fruit selection in particular surprised me. It seemed everywhere we looked there was a new treat or goodie somewhere in the dining room. The location is amazing. A beautiful street in a neighborhood just off one of the main roads in the bustling Wicker park/ Bucktown area. Everything is walkable in the area. Or if you prefer, the train to the loop (or the airport) is less than a ten-minute walk. Would definitely stay again!
My teenage daughter and I stayed here for our first Mother/Daughter Get Away. We enjoyed exploring the Wicker Park neighborhood and the closeness of the el train made our daily trips to downtown Chicago easy. This was just the right amount of "adventure" for two suburban die-hards. Returning to the inn was like coming home each day. The most difficult thing was parallel parking on the street (I am not a city driver), but once parked, the car stayed put for our entire stay! Loved it!
What a lovely place to stay! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our room (Wicker Park) was gorgeous although it didn't have a bath tub (not a problem for us as we prefer showers anyway!) Our room was on the first floor (ground floor) and was accessed immediately as you enter the Inn. I was a little hesitant but noise was never a problem and being at the front of the building we barely heard the 'L' running along behind. The Inn is within easy reach of buses and trains. Breakfast was more than adequate with help-yourself pastries, bagels, breads, cereal, yoghurts and fruits. There was also coffee and a myriad of teas to choose from. You could also go and help yourself to most of this whenever you wished! The neighborhood is interesting with great restaurants and eateries for all palettes. I would highly recommend this Inn.
My wife and I really enjoyed the friendliness and cleanliness of the staff and location. Not only was it close to many great restaurants and the subway, but the free parking pass was a huge help.
The Bucktown is beautiful, really nice rooms, kitchen, nice dining area. The Garden is an accident waiting to happen - little step-downs not delineated in both the bedroom/kitchen and bathroom. And it smells slightly of mold. Wouldn't recommend that room!
The staff is courteous, informative, and helpful. They insured that I had everything I needed, my questions were answered, and that I understood about parking. You get a permit to park included in your room rate. The location is ideal because you are within the city able to get to all areas quickly. The neighborhood is in a great area, and although you have to be careful everywhere, I observed neighbors out walking their pets, jogging, and sitting on their stoops in the late afternoon. The rooms are extremely clean and comfortable. If you want to stay in the city, I recommend this place highly!!!
My significant other and I recently stayed at the Wicker Park Inn for our one-year anniversary and our stay was amazing!!! We stayed in the Garden Unit and the pictures on the website do not give the unit justice! The kitchen had a big refrigerator, stove, pots, pans, dishes, deep sink, and cute dining area. The beds and pillows were cozy! The bathroom had soap, shampoo, and conditioner. This was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast so we were unsure of what to expect but this place made our nine-day Chicago trip so much more fantastic! One feature I really loved about our unit was the drawer space for our belongings! I could write all day about how wonderful the unit and Laura are but you don't want to be reading a novel. Laura is so helpful and sweet! She knows the area, gave us maps, and is great with responding to e-mails and phone calls! Book it now!!! Before I book it again and go back to Chicago! I am definitely staying here again when I go back!
Room was OK but would have liked a better view from the window (looked into another window). Patio was great, used it every night. Location is also very good, nice neighborhood and lots of restaurants close by.
We had the Wicker Park room downstairs, which is gorgeous, super clean, and huge. We loved the leafy street and the location. There's a fold-and-wash laundry just a few blocks away, and we really enjoyed our breakfast at Bongo Room nearby.
We spent three nights at the Wicker Park Inn this past weekend, and were very happy with our stay there. Our room was very comfortable, our hostess and staff were friendly and very accessible, and the location was excellent. Food (breakfast only) was delicious and plentiful, with snacks available at all times. Enjoyed meeting other guests. The only negative at all was the tight parking situation. Parking passes are given to guests, but there are not necessarily spaces that are available close to the Inn. There is, however, a loading zone so at least you can offload and load your luggage when you need to. All in all, I'd happily stay there again next time I'm in Chicago.
We stayed in the Garden Apartment across the street from the main B&B. It's actually a basement apartment. Plenty of room, nice kitchen/dining area. Only concern is the multi-level bathroom that had us all tripping. The staff was wonderful, helpful & responsive! The neighborhood and location is great. Will stay again! P.S. Our room did not get the b&B breakfast, but this site demanded I rate the food. I'm sure it was great!
We stayed in the Blue Line studio. It was great! We didn't get access to the food but there was no need since we were more interested in trying the local fare. The hotel manager was extremely helpful in telling us where to eat and how to get there. She was also helpful in giving us suggestions for things to do and how to get to places. The bed was extremely soft and comfortable. The location was perfect for us. We really enjoyed the area. Since the studio was in the back near the train, we heard low rumbling often but it didn't bother us and I slept through it without trouble. The B&B is also a 10 minute walk from either train stop and it is the Blue Line so it's one of the major lines. There is also a 24hr grocery store near the Division stop. I would definitely stay here again.
Highly recommended accomodations in great Chicago neighborhood
3rd time to stay in Chicago in the last couple of years and this place was by far the best location and well kept (clean). Wicker Park is a great location for a variety of close restaurants and is within walking distance to train station which goes downtown and out to Ohare airport. I felt very safe walking at night with friends and family. You will not be disappointed.
This was our first time to the Wicker Park Inn. We've been to Chicago many times before and have fallen in love with the Wicker Park neighborhood, but we've always stayed downtown before we found out about this wonderful treasure. The spot really makes you feel like you have a place of your own in the city. We were upgraded rooms after another customer extended their stay. The room was awesome and we really didn't hear a lot of noise other than birds and families on the street. It was so peaceful. The food was also better than expected with plenty of choices before a day out on the town. We'll definitely be coming back.
I had a wonderful one-night stay at the Wicker Park Inn. The space was clean and the staff was more than helpful, both in allowing me to come back to re-charge my phone and store my luggage before I could check into my next hotel. Everyone was polite and gave me advice on the city, as this was my first solo trip to Chicago. I'd definitely stay here again!
This was my second trip to Wicker Park Inn. My son lives a few blocks away and I'm able to spend time with him but also feel like I'm having a mini-vacation. The breakfast includes heavenly baked goods, fresh fruit and strong brewed coffee. The rooms are clean and well appointed. There are many brochures provided on Chicago sightseeing possibilities. The Innkeeper is accessible and friendly.
I stayed in the Garden Apartment. I found it very charming. Since it has a kitchenette, no breakfast was provide; however, there was coffee, creamer, sweetner, jellies and jam for my use. The accommodations were nest, clean and well maintained. I am overall pleased with my stay there.
I will be staying here again!! it was so much better then getting a hotel room that offers nothing but a bed unless you want to spend $300+ on it...
It was an apartment not a room!!!
VERY NICE!! CANT WAIT TO COME BACK!!
Such a charming place! We stayed in the apartment and wow! What a lovely place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city but be able to walk to the heart of Wicker Park and Bucktown. This place will definitely be my choice to stay when I return to Chicago.

We planned an evening trip to Chicago's Wicker Park to see a friend prefom at the local Piano Bar there. At the last minute I decided to find us a place to spend the night and read on line of the Wicker Park Inn. The rates were unbelievable for the Chicago area and just a short walk from our destination. We stayed in the Garden Apartment and had a very nice time, the owners were very accomodating as we weren't able to tell them for sure if there would be just us or a second couple as well. We will be back!
Accommodations and the staff were absolutely delightful. It was so refreshing to not have to deal with the hustle and bustle of a big hotel. And Breakfast! Couldn't have asked for more. We'll be back next time we visit our son and his wife who live in the neighborhood.
I had a very good experience staying here. The service was attentive and generous (without being intrusive); there was a continental breakfast for ultimate flexibility; there were snacks available all day; the room was simple, but adequate; and the location is fantastic. I recommend Wicker Park Inn.

Wicker Park Inn is a fabulous place right in midst of the city! Our stay in the Garden Apartment was convenient, comfortable and great value compared to needing a car to drive miles between a hotel and the city action. The staff were all very caring and professional. We felt they had considered every question and need. Our room was very spacious, layout and WiFi very useful for play and work, the suite style kitchen was fully supplied and very clean. We felt very secure and living within a regular quiet neighborhood was very pleasing. What a rare find right in the heart of the city!
This was my first time staying at a Bed and Breakfast. The staff were friendly and the place was clean. The breakfast was good. My kids'enjoyed the fruit that was put out. I will stay there again in the future. It was like being at home very comfortable.
This was an absolutely cozy room and atmosphere. My son lives in Chicago and that is why we visit and I can't imagine staying anywhere else!!

What a great location tucked in the heart of my favorite neighborhood in Chicago. I lived a few block away from this B&B but have since moved away. Recently I made a trip back for personal reasons I was so excited to have this option. It is cozy, cute, secure and walking distance to everything you need. The only 'negative' part of my experience was that it was a little chilly in my room and I had no way to adjust the temperature and didn't have any spare/extra blankets. Other than that I would definitely stay again and plan to on my next trip back.

Excellent experience, on a beautiful quiet street. Enjoyed being within walking distance of Wicker Park, I was allowed to check in very early and was even upgraded, without asking, to a better room. I thought the sound of the "L" might be disturbing, but it was not! Highly recommend the Inn.

My husband and I stayed recently at the Wicker Park Inn. We had a nice stay - hotel was within easy reach of downtown Chicago and the Wicker Park area was great - lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. The breakfast was fine - continental self serve with fresh fruit (which was appreciated). Only cons were that the El ran right behind the hotel so if you are a light sleeper it may bother you and the room could have been cleaner (ceiling fan had an inch of dust as well as the molding on the bathroom door). Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Really enjoyed out stay at the Wicker Park Inn. It is only a 10-15min walk to either the Damen or Division stop on the Blue Line. Lots of cool shops and restaurants nearby.
We were greeted by an attendant who also lives in the area and proceeded to suggest a few local gems. She took the time to show us around our room, and mark things down on our map. The train is nearby, but we soon got use to the short, regular sound as it passed. New and clean Kohler amenities were in the bathroom, and the shower was roomy and had good pressure.
This was our first stay at a B&B and were very, very happy! Checkin went very quickly and area suggestions were given and any questions we had answered. We stayed in the Chicago room and it was very clean and we felt right at home. The kitchen area offered hot tea and snacks along with breakfast in the morning. We would highly recommend staying here and will stay here again when in the area.
We spent 5 nights in the Garden Apartment in October and thoroughly enjoyed it. The kitchen and dining area is fully equipped and comfortable.
So were the beds and dining area. The shower in the bathroom was strong and hot. Our only complaint has to do with the sound of footsteps and activity overhead - on one night only. After we commented to the proprietors they promised to remind their guests about the 9 pm 'quiet time.' It must
have worked. We most appreciated all the helpful tips, maps, guide brochures and personal recommendations provided by the staff we met. Thank you for making our first visit to Chicago so easy.
Overal a good experience and I WOULD do it again.... biggest prob is parking .had to park5-6 blocks away in eves and bring car in closer the next ams as people left for the day.Innkeepers I imagine have no control over this. I was concerned about the noise from the train from the outside of the room but it was reasonably quiet and in contrast added a little white noise that actually HELPED me sleep. Many nice touches and a well stocked kitchen.I never had to think about going out to get something if I didn't want to.
Comfortable, affordable and convenient. Located within easy walking distance of two El stations. Only a seven to ten minute taxi ride from the downtown area. Lots of restaurants nearby. Quiet and peaceful both during the day and in the evenings. Very kind and helpful staff. Would stay there again.
Needed a room for one night in the Wicker Park/Logan Square/Buckland neighborhoods in Chicago. I found the Wicker Park Inn in a google search. The website said that a two night minimum was required, but I made a quick call to the Inn and they very obligingly agreed to a one night stay. The price for the room was very economical, check in was easy, the room was lovely (it looked even better than the photo on the website, and it looked nice in the photo!) - generous sized with a very nice private bath - all spotlessly clean. The continental breakfast was generous and an easy self-serve. I'll definitely stay at the Wicker Park Inn again, when visiting Chicago.
Great location, great price, clean & comfortable accommodations!
We stayed in the Wicker Park Inn's studio garden apartment and loved it! The neighborhood is bubbling with activity and conveniently located near lots of public transit options, nightlife and an abundance of restaurants & cafes. The apartment was quiet, private, spacious and has a fully equipped kitchen, perfect for those on a budget who want to cook some meals onsite. The staff is very accommodating and helpful. Wicker Park Inn is a great alternative to expensive downtown Chicago hotels!
Absolutely loved this Inn. It was conveniently located to everywhere we wanted to be. We had the option to walk or take the train. Our room was amazing. We are looking forward to staying there again in the future.
I have never stayed at a bed and breakfast before--only hotels, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Their website gave a pretty accurate picture. The rooms (a family member also stayed there) were clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast was excellent and the many choices and quality of the food far exceeded my expectations. The only drawback was that the pedestal sink, which looked nice and helps with cleanliness, didn't provide nearly enough space to put our many health and beauty products. However, there were so many positives about this place, we will definitely stay there again.
Our stay definately exceeded our expectations. We stayed in the Wicker Park room, it was gorgeous and extremely well decorated. We loved the fireplace, loved the freedom, loved everything about this place. This will absolutely be put first choice above anywhere else from now on!! :)
Great value in a great neighborhood. We liked that breakfast was just put out on the table and we could eat it whenever we wanted. The room was cute and very clean.
This is deemed an Urban B & B and appropriately so. It provides great location, solid breakfast table, and privacy. Only a few blocks from lots of major happenings. I'd stay there again if in Wicker Park area.
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Wicker Park Inn. Laura was very friendly and accommadating. We loved being able to stay in our son's neighborhood and see what his day to day life is like. We also enjoyed visiting with the other guests. We were a little apprehensive about backing up to the blue line but it wasn't a problem at all. We will most definitely stay there again as we just learned we have another son moving to the neighborhood.
directly behind the appartement is the room for the central heating for the house. The burner is running the whole time and is extremly loud. This makes you hopping mad in the night when you would like to sleep.
In the room you have many different levels and due to that steps, meaning you have to be extremly carefull not to stumble and fall.
Dining was not relevant in our case
Overall enjoyed the stay. Very helpful on checking in, addressing issues, etc. I was able to just call the number and get a hold of someone to come over and help. Good explainations in book that was given in room, helpful with parking, etc. Made it pretty easy. The only complaint I would have is that the noise level is a bit annoying. I stayed in the wicker park room which is right by all the noise, especially with the upper level. At 630am I could hear everyone walking around which woke us up. Sounded like someone in high heels or boots. Perhaps carpet could be put in? Some sort of sound barrier. I could hear everything pretty clear. Typically not an issue, but for so early in the morning it was kind of annoying. Other than that, everything else was great. I wouldn't mind using them again for future stays.
I stay at Wicker Park Inn on Agoust 2011. I find a very nice and quite place to stay like home so far away from home(Italy). If I'll come back to Chicago one day I would love to stay again at Wiker Park!
My husband and I were really pleased with our stay at the Wicker Park Inn -- it's a lovely little B&B and has a nice little shaded patio space, next to the building, where you can sit and relax. We were in the smallest room (The Blue Line) but it had everything we wanted -- a full kitchen (more than we needed), a queen bed, big closet, wifi, tv and a big bathroom. The innkeepers were wonderful and provided personal service, checking in with us, very friendly. The location is great - very close to the Blue Line CTA (in fact the elevated passed by our window but it wasn't disturbing -- more like background or white noise. I slept like a log.). There are great restaurants and shops in the area on Milwaukee and Division. We picked the inn because it was close to our daughter's apartment but it really is a great area for shopping and eating and for getting downtown. We are definitely looking forward to staying here again. I highly recommend the Wicker Park.

Great place to stay, terrific location, and the rooms and building are lovely. Very clean, staff was terrific. Loved Wicker Park! Although the breakfast did not include our favorite bacon and eggs, there was plenty of food, very nice pastries, fruit, organic stuff and really good coffee. My daughter is 9 and uses a wheelchair sometimes; staff was great about helping us out. Be advised: no elevators on the trains in this neighborhood. Otherwise, we had a wonderful stay!
We loved our stay at the Wicker Park Inn. It's close to everything and you don't have to pay for parking at the B&B! The room we had was so beautiful. The neighborhood was quiet and cute. The breakfast was good too with lots of baked goods, cereal, juice, yogurt, coffee, etc. We would definitely stay there again.
Our stay at Wicker Park Inn was very nice. Our son lives in Wicker Park and we usually stay downtown. This was perfect, close to his apartment, we had parking (a big plus since we drive to Chicago), and we could walk almost anywhere in the area nicely. We tried several restaurants in the area that our son had wanted to go to by simply walking.
We prefer bed and breakfasts so we were happy we found WPI. The room was fine, very roomy, the furnishings and bedding were a bit dated. The bed had a horrible squeak and the side table had a loose leg, but neither was a reason to be unhappy. I just thought they needed a little attention.
Breakfast was nice, nothing out of the ordinary, and the common room was stocked with a few snacks also. We very much enjoyed sharing breakfast with other guests and had several lovely conversations. One BIG drawback for us, no coffee available except at breakfast. My husband and I usually enjoy a cup in the afternoon, and sometimes after dinner. If there had been a coffeemaker in the room that would have been perfect, but no. I then went to the common room, figuring they would have a small pot or a single cup brew machine, but none there either. I had to walk several blocks to find a coffee shop, wait in line, and pay quite a bit for coffee, each day we were there. When we arrived we had been driving for over 6 hours and would have loved an easy cup of coffee, not a walk.
Will we stay here again, absolutely!! The location is perfect, the price was acceptable, the room was fine. If I had felt the need to, I would have called the phone number for assistance, since you never see the management people. They leave you alone to enjoy your stay but are available if you need them. Fine by me. I have already recommended Wicker Park Inn.

We had a wonderful stay at The Wicker Park Inn. The breakfast was really enjoyable, not only was the food really good but we liked meeting people from all over the globe. It was a very charming place to stay and we will definitely come back to stay again.
We like the quiet street with easy access to shopping and dining. We appreciate the snacks and tea available throughout the day, the great breakfast and the friendly welcome and service.

I stayed at Wicker Park Inn arriving on Thursday 7/28-Sunday 7/31. My check in was very easy. There were several problems. The first evening when I returned to my room, the security light did not go on making it rather difficult to open the door in the dark. Then after getting into the room there was a huge centiped going across the floor. Also, there was a flashlight on a desk that wasn't there earlier. when I checked in.
I left a note for housekeeping about the flashlight and the security light. The next day on returning late the security light still wasn't working. On Saturday a housekeeping staff was at the door and I asked them to remind someone about the light. The staff person was locked out of the back gate and wanted to cut through my room.
This wouldn't keep me from staying here again but the security light should have been taken care of. This room was a lower level room so it was an issue to me.
We could have stayed at a chain hotel or this lovely B&B. This was so much better! You get a feel for Chicago that can't be beat. We will do it again, for sure.
Warm and inviting room. Very clean and well designed. The price was just right and you can walk to so many great restaurants and shops in moments though the inn's lovely tree lined street is a wonderful place to be. A nice little continental breakfast awaits you every morning. Innkeepers and staff incredibly nice, accommodating, and responsive. Staying here every time my husband and I visit Chicago!
I would recommend The Wicker Inn to anyone. It's in a great location for the restaurants on Division Street and the tree lined streets and homes are wonderful.
Have stayed multiple times. Fabulous every time! The Bucktown Apt would be perfect for a family or couples stay. Quiet respite from hectic Chicago. Great restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance.
A nice place to stay, was a little disappointed in the breakfast. Usually when we stay at a B & B we share a hot breakfast with the other clients and get to know new people. Here although adequate was a serve yourself on the way out in the morning. The noise of the L did not bother us at all.
Staying at your Bed and Breakfast made our trip to the Wicker Park neighborhood perfect. The apartment we stayed in was so large that two couples could stay in relative privacy. The parking was easy and the location perfect for getting around Chicago. We will stay again soon!
The weekend of our wedding happened to be the same weekend as a huge doctors convention, so every hotel in the city was booked or insanely overpriced. We happened to find the Wicker Park Inn, thankfully. We enjoyed our stay in the Chicago Room.
Both my wife and I had lived in the Wicker Park/Ukrainian Village area for several years before moving away to North Carolina. We had our wedding in Chicago, and the Wicker Park Inn was a perfect location for us. Close to old haunts and good friends. The staff was great and our room was very nice. The balcony faces the train tracks for the Blue Line, but the noise, in our opinion, wasn't bad at all.
Overall, we loved our experience. We would highly recommend. I did not get a chance to eat the cooked breakfast Saturday morning (I was staying in a different location the night before our wedding), but my wife did and she said it was delicious. We woke up late Friday morning, however, and there were plenty of pastries, fruits, bagels, coffee, etc. still available.

We love to find locations in the heart of vibrant neighborhoods so we can explore all day and evening, and spend a comfy night in our PJs with wine chatting. The Wicker Park Inn's Bucktown apartment was AWESOME! It's got a kitchenette (a grocery within walking distance) Robin is a very considerate and congenial hostess (she found us a Groupon massage deal immediately) gave us maps and recommendations--we all got comfy beds, and quiet nights save for the distant rumble of the train (but that was actually cool, if you love cities like we do). Highly recommend it.
Everything about the Wicker Park Inn was as promised and I was very appreciative of their flexibility when my arrival time was delayed at O'Hare. It is also a very convenient location for the El and bus lines. That being said, I also found this property boring, and as a result, would not recommend it if you enjoy the sense of community that other inns provide and are opting for an inn rather than a hotel for this reason. There was virtually no interaction among the guests and the common dining room is rather dark, small and poorly designed. No one from the Inn was in evidence any time other than at my check-in at night, so there was no host experience that I have come to expect of bed-and-breakfast stays. The other thing that you need to know is that the guest rooms open right out into this dining area, or into the front foyer. There is no sense of privacy beyond the four walls of your room, and I felt less than comfortable with the lack of a deadbolt on my door. (Just a little button on the knob, and kind of rickety.) There is one guest room which has a bathroom across the dining space from the door to the bedroom. When those guests needed to use the bathroom, they dressed first in their room, took their showers, redressed and crossed back to their bedroom. It was awkward for them when just using the bathroom facilities and others were at the nearby table drinking coffee. I would not like this arrangement at all. The nearby neighborhood has a lot to offer by way of restaurants - both Milwaukee Avenue and Division Street - and it was easy to come and go to other parts of the city. Not a bad experience, just nothing special about it.

Reserved a room here so I could spend the night after seeing a show at the Double Door. Excellent place, very cool owners and all around great value and location. Will definitely stay here instead of a hotel.
Staying by the L line I thought it would be louder than it was. It was like a soft rumble of a thunderstorm. If there was a rental bike option, that would have made the stay.
close to downtown via blue line or by car. We were in the downstairs front room and it was kinda noisy...heard every footstep from upstairs, half the conversations (from upstairs and the rear suite), and snoring from somewhere! We kept the bathroom fan on all night to create "white" noise. Other than the noise ALL was great! Guests were very friendly too!!!

Loved the Chicago room. It may not be for everyone but it was the perfect room for me and my daughter. It was a great urban experience! I cannot compliment the inn keepers enough on how squeaky clean everything was. Yet it was amazingly comfortable. Thanks again for a great stay.
We stayed in the Blue Line Studio and loved everything about it. The innkeeper was so super-helpful and gave us such great recommendations for places to eat and check out, almost all of which we tried. The train really didn't bother us and we liked the privacy of the back entrance.
We only stayed at the Wicker Park Inn for about 6 hours so I can't really attest to the dining, etc., but all other aspects of our stay were great. The best part was this is an urban bed and breakfast and not in downtown Chicago which was wonderful! If you like to get lost in a big hotel, this is not the place for you. It is very small and quaint which was what I was looking for, but keep in mind, it is essentially a bedroom of a house. It's like coming home....
Area was safe, interesting and accessible by transit. Could get dinners and espresso with short walk. Breakfast was cereal/toast/fruit etc ... which is my expectation. I always hope for a cooked breakfast! Rooms are excellent.

This is the 4th time we have stayed at the Wicker Park Inn, and we always have a good time! The Wicker Park Room is very cozy and quiet, and the breakfast and company was great. It's our 1st choice for our Chicago visits.
We really enjoyed our stay at Wicker Park Inn. The room was a good size and everything was very clean. The room we stayed in had the bathroom down the hall, but it was private and very well done.
Breakfast was great..lots of good options and great selection of teas (my fav morning drink)
Ideal for people whose interests are on the Near Northwest Side, or who would like convenient access to the Loop. Lovely rooms, accommodating innkeeper. Self-serve continental breakfast.
We stayed in the Cape Cod room which was comfortable and very clean. The train went by the back of the place but we didn't notice it much. You do hear it go by but we live by a train track at home so wasn't an issue for us. Lots of food choices for breakfast. We'd stay here again.
We had a wonderful time at the Wicker Park Inn. The Cape Cod room was so relaxing and beautifully clean. The hosts were so friendly and breakfast was delicious. I loved the homey atmosphere. Definatly a relaxing weekend.
I stayed in the one room downstairs, with the king bed. The room was stunning! Very Clean....A Great Bed! However....it was loud. The rooms upstairs were all taken, everytime some one moved and talked...I could hear everything. I had to go upstairs around midnight and ask them to keep it down. When I arrived the Inn Keeper just showed me my room, never mentioned the common area upstairs. The breakfast was ok.....just fruit, yogurt and some rolls. I had a coupon so it was worth it....but without it the place was $$$.....you could so better some where else.
We spent three nights at this lovely inn and can't wait to go back. It's the nicest b&b I've ever stayed at, honestly--great location, inviting, clean and tidy, nicely decorated room (the Cape Cod), lovely bathroom, and wonderful breakfast--fresh fruit in a big bowl out for snacking all day, too. A great value, the stay was refreshing in every way.
Quiet, comfortable, immaculate. Substantial continental breakfast is set out in the morning to either eat at the table in the common room or to take back to your room. Excellent coffee! Vibrant neighborhood and a quick L ride downtown.
The Wicker Park Inn is adorable! Everything was super clean. The breakfast was great and different everyday. The owners are super friendly and helpful and made us feel at home.
I got bumped from the room I chose online, and although I wasn't notified of the change, it worked out to our advantage. The Wicker Park room was lovely. We unfortunately did not stay for breakfast, but it smelled delicious! Early in the morning, we awoke to people moving about above us, but it was no worse than being in an apartment.

Perfect location for us near family---very nice Chicago Street and no difficulties with parking. We had the place to ourselves so it was very quiet. Breakfast was adequate but not out of the ordinary.... we could fix it ourselves which was convenient. Would definitely stay there again and would want the room with the king bed again as it is separate from the other rooms and away from the dining area so definitely quieter.
The Wicker Park Inn is fantastic and a great little retreat in the midst of the hustle and bustle of the city. We gathered here for a girls weekend and I must say that we chose the perfect spot. We reserved the Tuscan room, it has a private entrance and perfect for those who might hit the town a little late. Nothing like sleeping in an waking up to a nice little breakfast. We got to interact with other patrons and it didn't feel as stuffy as it might in a hotel. Aside from the awesomeness that is the Inn, we were also within walking distance to great restaurants, bars, and shopping! We all had a great time and we felt like we were staying at a friends house. I couldn't ask for anything more.
I hope to return soon to The Wicker Park Inn. My son lives in Wicker Park and in the past I slept on his couch. No more. The Inn was homey, clean, on a quiet street with just the hum of the train in the background and is located to the many independent restaurants and businesses of Wicker Park but also close to public trans to go elsewhere in the city. The breakfast was delicious in a lovely room with fresh fruit, baked goods to die for, cereals, breads, PB, coffee, juice and set with pretty dishes. I highly recommend it!
The location was perfect and close to the L and room was clean. It was refreshing to stay in an urban B&B. The breakfast met my expectations. I thought overall the price was fair for the amenities.
We stayed at the Bucktown apartment for 3 nights in November 2010 and had a fabulous experience. My sister was getting married in Wicker Park and it was the perfect place for us to convene, for us to get dressed and feel at home right before this major event. The apartment was spacious and clean and the service was impeccable. We definitely plan to stay at the Wicker Park Inn again and will likely forego any hotel stays in Chicago for a stay at the Inn! We highly recommend it!
Stayed in the blue line studio for 3 days during thevweek. Can't beat the location and price. Plus free parking! This little studio comes with a kitchen ready to cook in. We barely heard the El directly behind us. Great neighborhood, and Robin was a pleasure to deal with. Will be back soon!
Chose to stay in Wicker Park area while visiting my daughter and on a road trip with a college buddy. The accomodations worked, but no access to internet in the basement apartment and hesitant suggestions to ask the owners for access to their computer/printer made it seem as if the accomodations were sub-standard in this age of internet capabilities. I think it is reasonable to expect access to a printer from a hotel/B&B in this day and age.
The owners accomadated my early check and was very helpful acclimating me to the city. The room was clean and in a good location. Though the train was close by, it was not too noisy.
My friend and I stayed in the Blue Line room and had quite a lovely time. The inn keeper met us at the door and was friendly, kind and offered many suggestions on local restaurants and activities (which were helpful, even though I have been to Chicago before). The room itself is cozy and well kept, with a comfortable bed, and as big a kitchen and bathroom as you'd expect from a nice studio apartment. The Blue Line room does not come with complimentary breakfast, but the kitchen was great; a gas stove, and all the pots, pans and cookware you need (we cooked breakfast and dinner many times during our stay). The best part about the kitchen though, was that they do your dishes for you. We came in November, so the price was exceptionally reasonable. Also, the noise of the blue line train didnt bother us at all, I can imagine it might be a problem for very light sleepers, but with the window closed it is not much more than occasional background noise. All in all, it was a fantastic time, I cant recommend it enough!
We enjoyed our stay in the Bucktown Apartment last weekend. The place was clean and very well located. The only thing we'd say is that we were disappointed the apartment didn't have a couch. The dining room table was nice, but it would've been more comfortable to have a couch to relax on.

If you want to stay on the West Side of Chicago in a great neighborhood, stay here. Right off N Milwaukee and close to the Division and Damen blue line stops, it's easy traveling to and from the Wicker Park Inn. The blue line "el" wasn't that loud when we had the door and windows closed.
I would definitely stay here again.
The only thing was the train noise at night but we both quickly got used to it and it became kind of lulling. Robin who works for the owners of the inn was really great and made an effort to accommodate us in anyway she could.

I came across the Wicker Park Inn by accident and was very pleased with room, accommodations, neighborhood, access to transportation, distance/proximity to nightlife, downtown and airport. The WKI has made the top of my list for future Chicago overnights.
My daughter and I stayed in the garden apartment across from the main inn. It was spacious, comfortable, and very private - a real home away from home. Although a stay in the apartment doesn't include breakfast, there were many excellent dining options in the neighborhood. The location was great with easy access to buses and the blue line. I would definitely return.
My son and I (from The Netherlands) visited Chicago to celebrate his high school graduation and admission to Med School. We stayed two nights at the Wicker Park Inn. We could not imagine a more homely, comfortable and "free to stay and go" lodgings for such a trip than the Wicker Park Inn. Accessibility from O'Hare, proximity to down town Chicago are just ideal, rooms are very clean and comfortable and breakfast was great without being overdone. Great value for money!
I really enjoyed the Wicker Park B&B. It is about the least stressful stay I've ever had while traveling. If you want to feel like you live in the Wicker Park neighborhood, this is the place for you. We stayed in the Chicago room which in the back of the building and about 25 feet from the elevrated subway tracks. I'm a light sleeper and was worried about this, but it wasn't a problem. I actually enjoyed hearing the trains go by becuase if reminded me I was in a big City. I do carry ear plus any time I travel and did use them, but question if would've had to.
The breakfast is simple self serve continential style with fresh cut fruit, bagels, pastries from quality bakery, cereal (hot and cold) all available as much as you want, milk and OJ are in the fridge (just like home!) This is my style! The dining area is common, but we didn't see any others while we there, we all managed to eat at other times and we didn't hear the other guests.
Easy walking distance to cute neighborhood eateries, and easy access to downtown via short subway ride. Ride all Chicago transit with unlimited day pass for $5+/person! We easily found a parking spot in front of the B&B and just left our car alone all weekend. (and we were there in February!)
Overall it met all my expectations a great value for a relaxed hassle free place to stay. Nothing super fancy which is how I like it. If you want to be waited on hand and foot or want to stay in a brand-new luxury you may want to look elsewhere but be prepared to pay!
I had a late flight in to Chicago and was able to check in around 9:30PM. The room was amazing; decorated very charmingly with a California King! I was going to be in Wicker Park all weekend and this was the perfect solution to keep me from having to travel to and from downtown.
My mom and I took the train into the city and spent the night here. Because of the recent turmoil with the economy, we made a conscious choice to stay at a B&B (it was our first time at a B&B). We loved it!! The staff was super friendly and helped us with directions and suggestions for things to do and places to eat. Our room was clean and far better than any hotel room in our price range. I really enjoyed the Wicker Park Inn, and Bucktown was really cool, with lots of good eats, shopping, and pubs. We would recommend this Inn to all!!
Had a nice weekend stay with my mom to visit for some local art festivities and it was really pleasant. We had the Blue Line room but weren't really bothered by the train. We walked everywhere and enjoyed having somewhere to come back to and relax.
Breakfast wasn't included with our room so I can't report on that portion. Price was definitely worth while.
We stayed at the Wicker Park Inn for Lollapalooza weekend in the Bucktown Apartment and I could not have been more pleased!
I have traveled to Chicago frequently and have stayed downtown and Gold Coast many, many times. The price you pay at Wicker Park Inn was phenomenal compared to other places. Me, my fiance, and our FOUR kids had ample amount of living space to make us feel right at home. Three bedrooms, a kitchen, a dining room table that seated all of us, bathroom, and plenty of storage room all for the amount they charge is a steal! If we would have stayed in a hotel, we would have needed 2 rooms, and if anyone has stayed in Chicago, they know, rooms are not that "roomy", cost a ton, and we would have had to eat most meals out. We saved so much money by staying here....
Quiet neighborhood, 2 minute walk to Walgreens, 7 minute walk to Jewel, and 10-15 minute walk to the blue line which leads straight down town! Even when we caved and called a cab, it was a $12 dollar cab ride to Grant Park....
One cool thing.... We had a friend come in to sit with our kids on a Saturday night. Reading the policy, I discovered that we were supposed to report all visitors and made a call to the owners... my call was returned and I was told that it was completely fine, I didn't even need to ask permission, and it was "our place" for the weekend! Awesome.
I can't recommend this place any more highly! It is family friendly but also young and single friendly as well :) We hope to book with them again next time we come into town!!
LOVED the location! The bed was super comfortable in the Wicker Park room. Was a little disappointed with breakfast, only because some of the other guests didn't understand the concept of sharing with the other 4-6 guests. We had a strawberry theif in the house while we were there. Maybe have a little more fruit? Definately will stay there again when apartment searching in spring.
We stayed for 5 nights in the Bucktown Apartment. It was a charming & roomy place for 6 people to stay. I would love to come back to this B&B stay. There are a lot of local places to eat, shop & it is only a few miles from the famous Michigan Avenue. The rooms are warmly decorated & the beds are comfy too.
Spent six nights at The Wicker Park Inn and I would thoroughly recommend it. Very convenient for O'Hare Airport and downtown both with the CTA Blue Line and the number 56 bus so it is very easy to travel to The Loop and back. Just purchase your CTA visitor's pass at the airport on arrival. You can enjoy a couple of genuine Chicago neighbourhoods in contrast to the more touristy downtown. Accommodation and breakfast were great. A good place to return to after a hard day's sightseeing.
We were litteraly amazed by our stay in the beautiful wiker park inn last summer. The neighbourhood is amazing, the room was absolutely perfect, decorated with taste, not to mention the beautiful bathroom. The bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast was also very good. We'll make sure to go back.
Stayed for three nights in mid-September in the apartment opposite the main inn. Great place with good parking and really helpful staff. They even brought a baby-bouncer up for our 6-month old to use!
Mikky is everything a host should be - informative, attentive and discreet. I have no doubt that next time we're in Chicago, we'll be staying here.

My wife and I recently spent two nights at the Wicker Park Inn and it turned out to be a great find on the internet. An outstanding location and value-near restaurants and shopping and the El (although we had a car and parking was not a problem). The Wicker Park neighborhood is an interesting and enjoyable area for walking. We stayed in the Tuscan room and we particularly liked the private entrance. We would recommend the Inn and we would definitely stay there again.
We have stayed at the Wicker Park Inn twice, and it is great. The location is great for walking around Wicker Park and it is easy to get a taxi or get to the EL. The price is great for in the city. I really cannot say enought great things about this place.
I've stayed at the Wicker Park Inn three times, and each time I've had a great experience. Laura & Mikky are very nice, helpful and friendly. The rooms are great --comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. And the location couldn't be better -- nestled on a beautiful neighborhood street with gorgeous trees, the inn is blocks away from tons of shops, bars and restaurants.
I and My husband loved staying in The Wicker Park Inn. Everything was perfect. The room is charming and the neighboorhood is really nice, and it is close to the subway and lots of restaurants and bars. Really goog staying away from tourists and enjoy Chicago live style.
Quaint, convenient, comfortable, clean. Felt free to just come and go. Bed was so comfortable. Everything I needed was there but not overdone. Just right!
The information given by the Innkeerer about Chicago was "right on." He even adjusted his schedule to have breakfast ready to meet my flight schedule. The convenience and location were above and beyond what I expected. I'll be back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My boyfriend and I stayed in the Blue Line Room. We loved the stocked kitchen, private entrance, and proximity to restaurants, shopping and bars.
Just a short walk to the El, we were able to do all the touristy stuff and then relax in what felt like our own apartment in the city.
Don’t let the closeness to the train scare you – we barely heard it! We had a wonderful trip and would definitely stay at Wicker Park again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Wicker Park Inn. Rooms were clean and well-appointed, staff was attentive and friendly, and amenities such as the free breakfast and wi-fi were nice surprises. Looking forward to staying again in the future.
We had a large group and reserved several rooms within the Wicker Park Inn. We had a wonderful stay there. The owner is very friendly and helpful, the rooms are lovely, and the location is perfect. We'll be back!
I would highly recommend the Wicker Park Inn. It is in a very nice neighborhood and close to blue line el train. It is also very close to Division Street, which has plenty of nice restaurants and other shops. The owners are friendly and accommodating.
We wanted to experience a Chicago neighborhood and happened upon Wicker Park Inn. We loved it! We stayed in the Garden Apartment, which is across the street from the actually Inn. It offered more privacy and had a full kitchen with breakfast items. It was a little apartment which made us feel like we were living in Chicago, if only for two nights. It was within walking distance of a great number of little shops and local restaurants and the Blue Line of the El. The hosts were friendly and helpful and included the little things in the apartment that made it even more comfortable. Overall, we were extremely pleased with our stay and would highly recommend it to others.
The neighborhood is a bit shabby, but there are several nice restaurants with outdoor seating. The Inn itself sits on a pretty, tree-lined street. We stayed in the garden apartment and it was very nice. There wasn't much to the breakfast foods provided, but the coffee was good. The location was great. If we had stayed right in the city we wouldn't have seen nearly as much. The Inn is easily reached by the Blue line. We bought a three day visitor pass and became very comfortable jumping on and off buses and using the CTA rail system. We had a great time and plan to return soon.

We had the Wicker Park Inn as our Headquarters for visiting Chicago and to see Ballgames of the Cubs and White Sox. The Wicker Park Inn exceeded our expectations. We had the two appartments and it was a great time.
This bed and breakfast is perfect if you want to be close to everything and want the comforts of your own home while you travel. The location is great! We used to live in Chicago right in this area so it fit us perfectly. The rooms were all very clean, comfortable and very nicely kept. The breakfast was healthy and tasty with a variety of fresh fruits, muffins, and scones to choose from as well as many other options including coffee and tea. It is close to the train and easily accessible to taxi cabs and a drug store in case you need to pick up some extra toiletries you couldn't pack. The only thing that might be a downside to travelers (not to us, though) is that you can hear the train go by and the room was a little warm at night (but there was a ceiling fan in our room so it kept it comfortable for me more so than my partner). The innkeeper was friendly, helpful and accommodating but not over bearing like other b & b's I've been to.
Great location....very close to metro station. Right next to rail but not a problem for us, but might want to bring ear plugs/tylenol pm. Great Italian Restaurant within walking distance on Division St. Overall a great stay.
Charming B&B in on of Chicago's great neighborhoods. It is the place to stay to get the real feel of the city. Innkeeper's recommendations for places to eat in the neighborhood met the mark. Easily accessible to public transportation and minutes from downtown Chicago. Look forward to our next visit.

My husband and I really enjoyed our visit at the Wicker Park Inn. Our spacious room, which was on the main floor, was very charming, clean, quiet, and cozy. A very comfortable stay - a little bit of country in the city. This Inn is definitely our first choice now when staying overnight in the City.
My husband and I just returned from our stay in Chicago, and we both agree that the Wicker Park Inn is outstanding. David, the innkeeper, is an AMAZING host. He was pleasant, kind, informative, and beyond helpful. Our room was cozy and clean, and we enjoyed the neighborhood very much. We highly recommend this Inn to anyone traveling to the area.

This was a romantic getaway for us and the Inn provided a great, friendly home from home. The proximity to bohemian shops and a host of excellent cafes and restaurants (especially Francesca's Forno) around Milwaukee Ave, and rapid access to downtown Chicago, made this a wonderful experience. David is charming, more than helpful and a fantastic resource when planning activities.
My wife and I were in Chacago visiting our daughter who lives in the Wicker Park area. We chose Wicker Park Inn primarily for the close proximity to our daughter's home. We stayed in the Wicker Park room at the inn and were pleasantly surprised by the accommodations and found the Innkeeper, Dave, to be helpful and friendly. Wicker Park Inn is just a short pleasant stroll away from Division Street, the location of many shops and restaurants. Wicker Park Inn helped make our visit to Chicago a very enjoyable experience.
My husband and I came to Chicago to celebrate his birhtday! We were forgotten about in the morning and had to wait outside for about 10 minutes and it was COLD. We called and the problem was addressed. Other than that we enjoyed our stat and the innkeeper David was extremely helpful and friendly!
