Nice location with similar buildings close by, but close fairly to sketchy areas. We watched a bowl game after dinner and the TV was small and difficult to see, as there was limited ability to adjust the line of sight. A good value and we'd likely go back if we visit Macon again.

I recently stayed at the 1842 Inn in Macon, GA and everything was a pleasure! From the beautiful decor, only enhanced by touches of Christmas, to the fabulous service, I was truly pleased and will back again, when I travel from Atlanta to SC. I found the advice and assistance of all the desk staff to be particularly helpful as were the printed directions and maps to the recommended spots. Lastly, the Mint Juleps were fabulous (we asked for the recipe the next day!) as were the wonderful selection of aperitivo items to accompany the pre-dinner drinks. I felt as if I was at home -- thank you 1842 Inn and your excellent staff for all the attention to detail, and your hospitality!

Lovely inn in a charming city. Pay up for the bigger older rooms, it's worth it.

We were passing through from NC to FL and knew we wanted to stay in Macon. My mom and I had a lovely time immersed in another time period. We toured the Hays House and Cannonball house the next morning. The service at 1842 Inn was very courteous. I loved the evening tray of tea and cookies, very elegant and gave a warm, homey touch. I appreciated the cleanliness of the Inn, inside and out. A bit pricey for an overnight, but if you appreciate old homes or architecture, it is more than an overnight--it is a memorable experience!
