We stayed here for our 30th anniversary and could not have asked for a better experience. Susan and Kim went out of their way to make it special. Gracious hosts and beautiful, historic house.
We spent Memorial Day weekend at this great B&B. The home is immaculate, and the gardens are very inviting. The owners are extremely accommodating, yet let us "do our thing." Breakfasts outstanding, and concierge service from owners very helpful. This was our first visit, but we will return.
My husband and I stayed in the Jacuzzi Room for my birthday weekend. The room was large, comfortable, well decorated and very quiet. The jacuzzi was fantastic! The inn as a whole is wonderful inside and out. The grounds, though not expansive, have beautiful little walking paths with a huge variety of flowers and other plants. Kim and Susan, the innkeepers, are extremely friendly, hospitable and very knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast was exceedingly pleasing to both the palate and the eye.
We stayed in 4 different B&Bs during our 3 week excursion. None, I repeat NONE, compared to the stay we had at the Americus Garden Inn!!! It is so clean, even for this Ms. Cleanfreak, well maintained, offers the guests plenty of comfort amenities - everything from snacks and drinks to heavenly sheets and delicious, health conscious breakfasts. This was our second visit and this time we brought friends with us to enjoy this well run B&B. We especially enjoyed our postprandial evening walks on the path through the beautiful garden and the attentiveness of our knowledgable hosts, Susan and Kim.
If you want a Superior B&B experience, the Americus Garden Inn is a great choice. We are return guests and highly recommend this inn with hosts Susan and Kim insuring your stay is an extremely positive experience...you will not be disappointed!
Al & Cyndee
A wonderful experience. The owners went out of their way to ensure we saw the local sights without being overbearing. They were warm and welcoming throughout and clearly wanted us to experience the best the area had to offer. Breakfast was lovely. We only hope we have the opportunity to return.
This was our first experience at a B&B was at the Americus Gardens. Owners Kim and Susan were wonderful hosts! They were great making us both fell like we were just staying with family. The beds were very comfortable and provided us with one of the best night’s rest that we've had in months. Each morning the breakfast was delicious and the talks with the Kim and Susan and the other quest was something that my wife and I looked forward to. Susan and Kim also made sure we were given maps and information of local events and restaurants in the area which all came in very handy. This is an experience that we will definitely repeat!
The house is amazing, the conversation is wonderful, and I could not even think of giving less than an excellent rating. We have dietary requests that were met with enthusiasm and creativity, giving us delicious breakfasts. Absolutely the best vegan cookies I've ever tasted. We enjoyed every aspect of our stay from the minute we arrived.
The inn keepers made this visit a plus. We were there for one night and couldn't have made a better choice. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was wonderful. If we are ever in the area again, we'll surely go back.
Our stay at the Garden Inn far surpassed our every expectation. Ken and Susan both were so warm, friendly, and extremely helpful in guiding us in our selection of attractions to visit which maximized our times at the sites. Their knowledge of the local history was amazing. The food and accomodations couldn't have been any better. It is "Top-of-the-Line" for sure!
We are three sisters from New York, Georgia and Florida who rendezvoused at the Americus Garden Inn for a birthday celebration and reunion. Our stay at the Inn was perfectly delightful. Everything we could have wished for in a bed and breakfast was provided in a thoughtful, warm and welcoming yet unobtrusive manner. Our room was elegant and very comfortable and the breakfasts were gourmet. The owners were most helpful in providing us with all the information we needed as tourists in that area.
We will highly recommend this Inn to all of our friends and relatives and hope to return for another wonderful holiday.
What we wanted was a well maintained and charming B&B with mouth watering breakfasts and we were not disappointed! Our hosts throw all their energies into presenting their guests with a special experience at the Americus Garden Inn. Our only wish was that we could return when spring or fall brought beauty to the gardens!
Absolutely fantastic place to stay. The innkeepers are warm and welcoming ambassadors for the community. Our stay couldn't have been more pleasant nor the breakfasts more elegant.
The grounds and rooms were beautiful and very clean, the innkeepers Kim and Susan were wonderful, and the breakfast was fantastic !!! We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area. This B&B is worth going out of your way to experience !!
An excellent experience we won't forget! Fabulous food, service and atmosphere!
Susan and Kim have created a wonderful place to vacation! Beautiful grounds with a gazebo, flowering plants, walking trails and a pond with a waterfall. The house is an amazing Victorian home built in 1846. The rooms are big and beautiful with wood floors and carpets, 12 ft ceilings, beautiful fireplaces, large bathrooms, large beds with heated pads, etc. The rooms are very clean and the beds very comfortable. My husband has had back surgery so this was very important for us. We had a beautiful veranda off our room where we could sit in rocking chairs and eat lunch or just sit and enjoy the nice weather we had on our trip.
The breakfasts were amazing! Three couse culinary delights! A fresh baked loaf of bread, babka, muffins, biscuits or scones as the first course, fresh fruit for the second course and one of many varieties of pancakes and a variety of egg dishes as teh third course. Large portions - you won't leave hungry. We rarely had room to eat lunch! In addition, a large selection of drinks, fruit and snacks are left out so you can snack throughout the day. The coffee and tea mugs are even warmed up each morning for you when you arrive for breakfast! A nice touch!
The Victorian house is beautiful with a big staircase, large windows, a big wrap around porch, beautiful dining room, living room , an authentic experience! Kim and Susan are wonderful hosts! It was an amazing experience and we won't forget it!
We stayed at the Americus Garden Inn because we wanted New Year's Eve to be one we would remember. The house is beautiful, Susan and Kim are wonderful hosts, and breakfast was yummy. We felt as if we were visiting friends and will definitely go back when we are in the area to visit my family.
Our first stay at Americus Garden Inn was back in 2009. We selected it because it was a half way point between our home in Florida and family in Tenn. We enjoyed our stay on our way north so much that we reserved a room for the return trip. In December '12 we again traveled north for a family wedding and stopped at Americus Garden Inn going to Tenn and returning to FL. It was like we were going home. Kim and Susan make you feel like you are staying with family. The rooms are large, very clean and well appointed. Breakfast is a gourmet’s delight. You just could not ask for a better place to stay. My wife and I have stayed at many B&B’s in the eastern U.S. and Americus Garden Inn is our one and only favorite.
Thank you so much for my dad & Georgies stay. I think it was the best visit for him ever. Being able to come and visit our extremely loud and busy house but go back to the wonderful quiet and personal accomodations you gave them was great. I love having him visit but I know it gets stressfull with all the commotion and you took the stress away. He got to see the family..all the kids..all the animals...enjoy everything and still wind down at the end of the day and have some "quiet time". His favorite meal is breakfast and that was unbelievable, something I would love to do but not even come close to try to create. Thank you for making his & Georgies Christmas with our family one of the best ever!! Chris
It's been a year since we were able to travel to Americus, but walking in the doors was like walking through our own front door. What a comfortable and peaceful place to enjoy your evening when not out on the town. Kim and Sue are so precious and friendly! The breakfast is always amazing and presented beautifully. It is always spotless and the beds are so comfortable! We ONLY stay here when we're in Americus!
The Americus Garden Inn offers a beautifully restored home with very comfortable rooms, manicured grounds and a fantastic breakfast. The inn is very close to the town center and this offers the choice of a number of restaurants and some shopping. Kim and Susan, the owners, were exceptional hosts and helped make our visit special. They took the time to educate us on the places of interest in and around Americus. I would highly recommend a visit to the Americus Garden Inn if you truly enjoy bed and breakfasts. The inn is truly a special place. Thank you for allowing us to share your wonderful home!
Our stay at the Americus Garden Inn could not have been nicer. The Inn itself is a properly restored 1845 mansion with interesting architectural details. Our room was extremely nice, with an outdoor porch overlooking a garden on which we unwound from our drive by sipping cocktails. Kim and Susan are delightful hosts and conversationalists, making the stay more like a visit to friends (who happen to live in an historic home) than a stay in an hotel. They were very good, and very helpful, in discerning our tastes and then suggesting things we might see in the area and a restaurant we would enjoy. The Inn is right in the historic district, so after a lovely breakfast and good coffee, prepared by Susan, we took a long pleasant walk looking at all of the area's 19-th century homes. Our only regret is that we could not stay longer. Next time we are in the area we will plan for a three-day weekend and, of course, stay at the Americus Garden Inn.
This place was truly the most friendly place to stay. I really wanted to find a cute little romantic spot for a mini getaway vacation, and this place was perfect. The house is so big and spacious but luxurious all at the same time. We were met by welcoming faces, amazing personalities, and tremendous hospitality. Apart from the charm of this gorgeous house and beautiful gardens, the Americus Garden Inn Bed and Breakfast has so much more to offer. The breakfasts are definitely something to rave about. You will never leave hungry for sure because the food is incredible. You will be stuffing yourself for every last bite.
I enjoyed my stay at this bed and breakfast so much and will not hesitate to return. This was my first stay in a bed and breakfast, and I have to say I am now officially spoiled. From the moment I walked in until the second I left I felt transported back in time with the beauty of the house, but pampered from the luxury of the amenities. Can't wait to return!
The Americus Garden Inn does indeed have a beautiful garden, complete with koi pond. The hosts went above and beyond to meet all of our needs. Breakfast was top-notch.
My sister and I stayed for three nights. We loved everything about this beautiful home and the hospitality we experienced here. From the delicious breakfasts to the comfy beds and all the little extras, we were pampered! The hosts are wonderful and very helpful with suggestions, maps, and anything else we needed. We can't wait to come back!
If you want to be pampered and treated like visiting royalty, you have to stay with Kim and Susan at the Americus Garden Bed and Breakfast in Americus, GA. Their home dates back to 1847 and has all the charm and character you would expect to find in a home of that period. Our room was large and extremely comfortable! Susan is a wonderful cook and breakfast each morning was was more like fine dining than simply breakfast. Kim and Susan are great hosts and are very knowledgable about retaurants in the area as well as Andersonville and Plains. I highly recommend the Americus Garden Bed and Breafast !
no need for an alarm clock, the smell of fresh baked muffins will
Kim and Susan are probably the nicest people you could meet. Of course the gardens and B&B are perfect. Did I say perfect, yep that's the right word. These hosts in 2 nights gave me the feeling that I had gotten out of the race we are all constantly running and just stop and smell the muffins. I had all the knots out of my rope in 2 days something hawaii this summer was not able to do in 2 weeks. Will be back. If your heading south out of Atlanta for the big entertainments of Florida, get off the highway for a night or 2 and the rest of your trip may be great but when you get home this will be what you talk about most.
Due to the customer service and the residence Americus Garden Inn was an incredible experience. The Inn was beautifully historic and the breakfast was amazing.
We just had an amazing stay at the Americus Garden Inn. Susan and Kim made us feel like we were staying with friends. Susan made me unbelievably delicious gluten-free breakfasts. The bed and linens were luxurious. This is the perfect choice for a weekend away from it all.
My wife & I stayed four nights for my birthday celebration, and primarily to visit the nearby Jimmy Carter National Historic Site in Plains, GA and Archery, GA, and to attend Sunday School taught by President Carter. There's also lots of other attractions in and near Americus. But we had one of our best, if not the best, B&B experiences! Our room was spacious and comfortable, and we had our own private balcony overlooking the lovely gardens. The antebellum home is lovely, and the owners gave us a tour of the house and its history. The breakfasts are scrumptious yet healthy, and the owners were eager to address our dietary needs. Myrna & Herb West, Bogart, GA
As staff, I accompanied a disabled gentleman on his dream vacation: to meet former president Jimmy Carter. He did indeed meet Mr. Carter and his wife! However, the trip exceeded our expectations because of our stay at the Americus Garden Inn. The home is lovely with beautiful furnishings, pictures of the home over the years, many books, DVDs/ VHS tapes, and a welcoming spirit. Kim and Susan pay attention to the finest details. In fact, Susan called weeks prior to our arrival to find out what special needs the gentleman may have. They were both helpful with tour tips, directions, and restaurant information. The breakfasts were delicious and a work of art! Sometimes they looked too pretty to eat! Kim and Susan are a very hospitable and welcoming couple. The gardens are meticulously kept. We enjoyed both sitting on the deck and the gazebo enjoying the flowers, birds, and butterflies! I was blessed to accompany this gentleman on his trip and at the same time being treated as a queen! As far as the gentleman, he is still talking about meeting the Carter's, Chef Susan's cooking, and how he liked his bedroom! I have stayed in several B&B's over the years, and this was the finest! Kim and Susan's caring spirit And passion for what they do....serve others... is what makes it a fantastic place to stay!
We had a much needed little vacation and stayed a the Americus Garden Inn. It was just what we needed and Susan and Kim are very sweet couple who have restored this lovely home very nicely. It is like stepping back in time when you stay there. Beautiful homes surround yhe Inn. Here are just a few great things about our stay. Warm welcome from Susan and Kim, Lovely Room, Privacy, Heavenly Sheets, Beautiful Gardens, Buyyrtflies, Daylilies, Porch with Rocking chairs, Fish Pond, FOOD, Quiet clean atmosphere, attention to our special needs,Clean,Ample supply od all kinds of goodies,Interesting History, Journal to weite your experience if you wish, Petfect get away. and close to my family so I can see them when we visit. AAA all the way.
Beautifully restored 165 year old home that is in excellent condition. The backyard has a fabulous walking path and well thought out garden that leads you to a serene , quiet gazebo with a large swing . The perfect getaway. The owners were very personable and very caring. It is just minutes from the Andersonville historic Prison site and incredibly beautiful and moving National Cemetery.
Where to start? The wonderful original structure and setting of the B&B itself, the marvelous hosts-Susan & Kim. the sumptous room, the fabulous breakfast, the attention to detail, the rare ability demonstrated in anticipating and exceeding a guest's expectations---or just mention it all! :)
During my career, I traveled extensively in the U.S., Canada, South America and Europe, but I have not had a stay that exceeded the standards of the Americus Garden Inn B&B.
The Inn located so conveniently in Americus itself made my entire visit there a most memorable experiencel
By far one of the best run B&B's we have been in. Susan and Kim are delightful hosts and really take pride in their home...and what a home! They have worked endlessly to make improvements (landscaping is amazing) and you feel welcomed the minute you step in the house which is historic. The breakfasts are amazing, homemade muffins, fruit, eggs, pancakes, etc. We had a room upstairs with a wonderful king size bed and an outdoor balcony. We enjoyed sitting out there reading and relaxing. Definetly worth a stop!
Even though we only stayed one night I feel like old friends. There was a very special feeling that we all felt when we entered the home. Kim and Susan are tremendous people and we felt right at home. The bed was comfortable, the pillow even better and the sheets were so nice that I asked where they were puchised. The breakfast was tremendous. No matter how good the muffins are don't eat 2 or you will never finish the meal. We now have another 1st place.
We went back for our second time to celebrate my Mom's 88th Birthday. We had been four years ago, also to celebrate her Birthday, but this time we were there on her Birthday. Kim and Susan made it even more special this time by hanging a "Happy Birthday" banner over Mom's bedroom door, and made her her own mini loaf Saturday morning for breakfast and put a candle in it. The food is always wonderful, and they have the largest selection of soda's and teas available for us 24/7 that I have ever seen!! I would not hesitate to go again!!
Three features propel this establishment into the top echelon of accommodation. The first is the beauty and historical attraction of the antebellum home. The second is gourmet breakfast, skilfully prepared and presented. The third is the friendly but nonintrusive hospitality offered by Kim and Susan. Altogether, an outstanding experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Americus Inn. We felt at home even as we arrived. After a tour of the house we received information about all the surrounding sites we were planning on visiting. The owners were very knowledgeable about the city and all the surrounding area. Breakfast was a real treat, I'm Celiac and so the gluten free breakfast was delightful. What muffins I couldn't finish at breakfast served as a life saver during the day while we were exploring the area. We would go out of our way to stay here again!
You can't go wrong staying at this B & B - Kim and Susan go out of their way to meet your needs. They kept coffee brewing all day for me and made exceptions for our likes/dislikes when it came to breakfast. The food was wonderful and I asked for recipes :) Cleanliness tops the charts for me, therefore, I never had to put my slippers on! and I think others will know what I'm talking about :) You will drive away with a smile on your face and wonderful memories made. Thanks to Kim and Susan for a wonderful visit!
Our stay was very comfortable. The room was cozy. The breakfast we enojyed each morning was creative and filling. The hosts were a wealth of information about the area.
My husband & I went to the Americus Garden Inn for a long awaited (& postponed) anniversary weekend. Traveling without our children, we were looking for a "grown-up" place to stay. While we love our children dearly, we don't wish to be around other people's children while on a romantic weekend get-away. Breakfasts that were absolutely delicious & snacks/drinks available 24/7 made for a relaxing, nourishing & delightful time away. Susan & Kim are very knowledgeable of the area & a great resource for information on the surrounding activities. A congratulations banner was hung outside our door & rose petals & chocolates were awaiting us on our pillows. We felt very looked after. Our room was beyond our expectations...with some B&Bs, you never really know what you are getting until you stay there. We have had less-than-desireable experiences elsewhere with the "romantic B&B" being nothing more than a couple of extra rooms in a musty old house. Not the premium guest experience we had here. :) We were able to tour the other rooms (except for one) as the inn was vacant when we checked out & we decided on our next room choice. We loved that Americus was less than a 2 hour drive from our house-which made the traveling part of getting away relatively short. Nothing dampens a long weekend of relaxation quicker than a long drive home. We highly recommend this B&B for a wonderful get-away weekend.

My wife and I wanted to explore some of the history of the Americus Region, mainly Andersonville Camp and the Jimmy Carter Boyhood home and school in Plains, so we selected the Garden Inn as our resting place. The Hosts were great about explaining not only the history of the places we were visiting, but also of the entire region. They certainly added a new prespective for us. The room was excellent, food was fantastic, and the hospitality was beyond our expectations! I would highly recommend this B&B if you are traveling in the Americus area.
Thanks Kim and Susan for a wonderful night and some great memories!
After staying at this Bed & Breakfast Inn (our very first) I will find it rather difficult to ever stay in a motel again. From the time we were greeted at our car to help us with our luggage and the words, "Welcome To Our Home!" I mean.....even our own relatives don't do that! LOL My husband and I truly felt at home, Kim and his wife Susan give you a nice tour of the home, including its rich history, showed us where snacks & drinks were located for our convenience anytime day or night, gave us menus of surrounding restaurants including directions from the Inn. Susan is quite the gourmet cook at breakfast and her love and care is well displayed in the multi course breakfast, which she lovingly wrapped up our leftovers every morning to take with us during our visit (we never had to buy lunch, because of these wonderful leftovers). This trip was a surprise for my husband to his College Georgia Southwestern and to celebrate our 29th Wedding Anniversary. After talking with many friends experiences regarding bed & breakfasts The Americus Garden Inn will be the gauge that we will now measure other B&B, hotels or even relatives homes to.

The Americus Garden Inn was the perfect getaway for our Babymoon! It was just a short drive from where we live in South GA. When you arrive, Susan and Kim are there to greet you and show you the ins and outs of the house, and the house is absolutely beautiful, as is the garden which we were fortunate to see still in bloom. We even got to enjoy the persimmons and figs from their garden in our breakfasts and took some persimmons home as well - yum! Being pregnant I loved that snacks (fruit, granola bars, crackers, cookies, etc) and soda/water were available 24/7, and it was great to enjoy the homemade muffins later that we could not finish at breakfast. Their breakfasts are as amazing as all the reviews have raved about from the muffins to the fruit to the pancakes/griddle cakes to the various egg dishes, and Susan and Kim will make sure to note any dietary restrictions, likes and dislikes you might have to make your experience even more enjoyable. My husband and I enjoyed the movie library available to guests, and the Jacuzzi Suite was amazing. We loved being able to soak in the two-person jetted tub and watch a movie from it and just relax. We slept like babies in our wonderful king-sized bed, with heated mattress pad, luxurious sheets and comfy pillows. We really enjoyed the Rylander Theater, and we highly recommend going if there is a show while you're there. Some of the restaurants we liked: Forsyth Bar & Grill (steak, BLT, soups, crepes); Little Brothers Bistro for paninis; Richelle's for ice cream, sorbet or baked goods; and The Station (tuna steak, stuffed shrimp, fried grits). Susan and Kim can point you in the right direction for whatever you want to do. There is lots of history to explore, beauty to see and relaxation to be had. Our time at The Americus Garden Inn was unforgettable and full of wonderful memories!
I have now stayed at the Americus Garden Inn 4 times over a span of 5 years. As far as I can estimate, my experiences began as surprisingly delightful and have only improved every time. Susan and Kim have turned this already-fascinating antebellum manse into a cozy and romantic haven that any world-weary person will relish. I now find that I crave the opportunity to return to the Inn through the months between visits. This is a rare glimpse of heaven here in this life.
What a wonderful experience! My wife and I just wanted to get away and came across the Americus Garden Inn. From the time we walked though the door, till the time we left, our hosts were great and made you feel welcome! The Inn is great, and the food as well!!! If your in the area and need a place to stay, please give them a chance, you will not be disappointed.
This is a great place to stay. Kim and Susan attend to every detail. The beds, pillows, and sheets were very comfortable. About the breakfasts: they were served in courses, they wrapped up extra muffins so we could snack on them later in the day, they made lovely entree presentations, they served great honey-glazed persimmons. Additionally when they learned we were coming to the area to visit Jimmy Carter sites, they told us of the opportunity to attend Jimmy's Sunday School class. It was a highlight of our trip! We would definitely recommend this inn to our friends and we would return.
We had a wonderful stay at the Americus Garden Inn. Thank you so much for your hospitality and if we're ever there again we'll be sure to stay with you.
We loved every minute of our stay at the Americus Garden Inn. Kim & Susan go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. We enjoyed the clean rooms, comfortable beds, and excellent breakfast! There was also a variety of teas, coffee, soft drinks and healthy snacks available 24 hours a day. Be sure to tour the beautifully landscaped gardens. This was a perfect get-away, and we can't wait to visit again. Thanks so much, Egelseers, for being wonderful hosts!
We stayed here because it was virtually the same price as the chain hotel where the rest of the group stayed and we figured it would be a more pleasant experience. We were correct. The room was spacious and comfortable. Lots of snacks and drinks are available for guests at no extra charge during your stay. Susan is an excellent chef and breakfast was really good.
On day 9 of a 10-day motorcycle trip, my wonderful husband surprised me with a night at the Americus Garden Inn. What a treat! We began our stay by winding down in the gazebo swing in their lovely garden. So peaceful after days on the road. Susan showed us to our room with a birds eye view of the garden. The Inn was beautifully restored and decorated--full of history, southern charm and hospitality. Susan and Kim were gratious and knowledgeable about the area and its history. They made us feel welcome and totally at home. The room was comfortable and nicely furnished. The food was beautifully presented and delicious! Snacks and beverages were always available. The coffee, Susan's own blend, was so good that we purchased a bag to take home.Although we had only planned to stay one night, it was raining the next morning plus my husband wasn't feeling well and really needed a day of rest. Susan was truly concerned and convinced him to stay an extra day for some R&R. We spent a totally pleasant day just sitting in the house reading, relaxing and chatting with Kim and Susan. We like B&Bs and try to stay in them when we travel. This has been my favorite one--we'll definitely return!
A thoroughly enjoyabe experience. Susan & Kim bring Ritz-Carlton type service to Americus, GA. Lovely accommodations & terrific food at a reasonable price. We're looking forward to a return visit
What a wonderful experience. My family of 6 stayed here and were extemely pleased. The owners, Kim and Susan were so accommodating. The breakfast was gourmet and beverages and snacks were available 24/7. The rooms were beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Each has its own bath and TV. You will not find another B & B that compares to this one, and I have been to many.

Kim and Susan are the most gracious of hosts. They provided so many touches to make our stay exceed our expectations such as help with our luggage, Dove chocolates on our bed, snacks and drinks available at all times, the best sheets ever, a gourmet breakfast that tasted as good as it looked, and best of all, a genuine interest in making their guests....FRIENDS! We plan to come again!

It was a wonderful experience in the lovely and elegant home of Susan and Kim Egelseer. Breakfast was delicious and imaginative. I appreciate the time she took in the kitchen to make a tastly yet healthy meal. Wish we could have stayed longer, but we'll be back! Bill and Clare Evon
My sister and I loved our stay at the Americus Garden Inn. It was my third stay and each time the warmth of our hosts, the charm of the home and grounds, and the personal touches just get better. Hope to be back soon!
Best b & b ever. Beautiful rooms, gourmet breakfast, and snacks all day. Our hosts Kim & Sue took care of our every need. They were well versed in the history of the area and were quick to provide directions, suggestions for restaurants and area attractions. We really felt at home and can't wait to return.
Stunningly beautiful and comfortable B&B and extremely warm hospitality!
We stayed at Americus Garden for one night in the Balcony Suite. The place is amazingly beautiful and the hosts went to great lengths to make our stay perfect -- including preparing a delicious vegan and gluten free breakfast to accommodate our dietary restrictions. Highly recommended!
As return guests we were delighted to find that the courtesy and service provided by Susan and Kim was every bit as wonderful as our first visit one year ago. Consistency is key and we found it at the Inn. We will be sure to find our way to Americus on our trips from Florida north as it is well worth the effort. We were amazed to learn that Susan had kept a record of the breakfasts she had prepared for us the previous visit to avoid repeating any dishes. Happy to report that this year's breakfasts were aslo photo worthy and delicious. See you next year!!!
Our stay with The Egelseers was a true delight and one of comfort. It was exceptionally HOT in south GA and it was so nice to know we would go 'home' to a clean, cool, and comfortable room and bed each night. Thank you!

Our experience at the Americus Garden Inn Bed & Breakfast far exceeded our expectations. The Inn is absolutely beautiful and is located in the lovely residential historical area of Americus. Kim and Susan were dedicated to making our stay at their home a warm and pleasantly memorable experience. Our room was spacious, very clean, and beautiful. Susan is a great cook and the breakfasts she serves are delicious, nutritious, and beautifully presented. The grounds are just as lovely as the house. Kim and Susan are a great source of information about things to do and see in the area. When we left it felt like we were leaving family. We will not hesitate to return for another visit.
Lovely historic house and beautiful gardens, friendly and knowledgeable innkeepers, scrumptious breakfast, and delightful room....the Americus Garden Inn has it all including its own blend of coffee from Cafe Campesino (brought some home to enjoy). One night's stay is just not long enough so we'll be going back for weekends. Kim and Susan just couldn't be nicer and truly want their guests to have a great time. Americus is an interesting town, and the Garden Inn is the place to stay while there.
I recently spent a weekend here at AGI and it was the best B & B experience that I have had. Susan and Kim are wonderful hosts and the breakfasts were outstanding. I give it exceptionally high marks!
This was our first 'Bed&Breakfast experience,' and we totally enjoyed the "Americus Garden Inn." Kim and Susay were so kind and the room was fabulous. We thank our friends who introduced us this place and we also want to recommend it to everybody.

We had a wonderful stay at the Inn! Kim and Susan were great hosts - they made us feel right at home, without being obtrusive. They both have the gift of hospitality, going the extra mile to ensure that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The Scarlett room was spacious, and Susan's breakfasts were simply out of this world! We have never had better breakfast food than we had there - Susan has perfected the meal to an art form. The house and garden were lovely. We can't say enough nice things about the Inn and would recommend it without reservation!.
This was my first experience with a B & B and it couldn't have been better. We traveled to the area to attend Former President Jimmy Carter's Sunday School class. Garden Inn owners Susan and Kim were so gracious and knowledgeable about the area, they enhanced our visit immensely. Susan is the Martha Stewart of three-course breakfasts. Our room was lovely and very comfortable. My daughter and I sipped Susan's hand-mixed coffee each morning in the garden's gazebo. An enchanting home with superb hosts.

The owners / innkeepers are great! Everything is immaculate and nicely maintained. Location is close to everything in town yet quiet. Beautiful, serene surroundings.
I found this wonderfuly B&B on the internet for a one night stay on our way home from Florida. I'm so glad I found it!! The owners were so nice. The place is immaculate and so comfortable. Being a first timer to a B&B we didn't really know what to expect but this experience was great. I wish we could have stayed longer. The food is excellent....everything is homemade and fabulous. The gardens are beautiful. Can't wait to return!

We have been staying at the Amercus Garden Inn for several years and always enjoy ourselves. The owners go out of their way to make every visit enjoyable from the beautiful rooms and gardens to the snacks, beverages and wonderful 3 course breakfast. Best of all, Kim and Susan seem to really enjoy meeting and getting to know their guests. When you leave, you’ll feel like you are part of the family. If you like B & B’s, you will love this place. It is a true gem.

This was our first experience at a Bed and Breakfast! It was an extremely pleasant suprise! Our gracious hosts were totally responsible for that! Thier attention to detail and anticipating our every want and need is a travelers dream! This historic house is beautiful, clean and comfortable. The breakfast absolutly delicious. I only wish we could have stayed longer. If we come this way again we will! It is worth going out of your way to stay here. We are spoiled and will find it hard to stay at a hotel again!
The only negative is that the Guitar could use a new set of strings. Maybe I'll bring a set with me next time!
Until then..............
We have stayed in outstanding B & Bs around the world. Nowhere have we encountered better ambiance, service, coupled with a gourmet breakfast. Kim & Susan have anticipated every possible need that their guests might require, or desire. Every detail was covered. . .with perfection. We hope to return here soon, even if it means flying to Atlanta and renting a car, just to experience the Americus Garden Inn again.
This was a great weekend retreat. We normally stay at B&B's only one night, but decided to do two this time and I'm so glad we did. Every detail was taken care of and Susan and Kim cater to you like you are the only ones there! Outstanding!
The Americus Garden Inn is truly a wonderful place to visit. Kim and Susan Egelseer are lovely hosts and have created a beautiful and peaceful oasis. I have stayed with them three times and look forward to my next visit.
This was the first bed-and-breakfast we stayed at, and it was on the first day of our honeymoon. It was wonderful. Very nice place, the owners were very gracious and nice, and it was a memorable experience. We might even go back someday!
The stay in this Inn was a great value - same as I spent at chain hotels along my journey. What a great pleasure to be able to stay in such a beautiful room with great service and all the amenities of the chain hotels, but with the personal touch of a wonderful and friendly couple. The breakfast was delicious too!
On our recent visit to Andersonville Ga., The Americus Garden Inn was the place I chose to stay and I could not have been HAPPIER about it! From the time we arrived until we waved goodbye to our new friends....It could not have been ANY BETTER.
Our experience at Americus Garden Inn Bed and Breakfast was outstanding! Facilities are modern with a touch of antique decor. Service was attentive and complete with quick responces to personal requests. Cleanliness is obvious. But the best experience at this very comfortable B & B is the gourmet breakfast. Unique preparation and presentation make the breakfast meals memorable for us world travelers. Kim and Susan, our hosts, made our stay very comfortable, but were not intrusive. Succinctly put, this B & B is highly recommended. Thank you so much for a pleasant stay while visiting family in Americus. John and Virginia Bell, Las Cruces, New Mexico
Kim and Susan made us very welcome the instant we arrived. The Inn is very beautiful as is the garden and its setting in Americus is excellent. Breakfast was wonderful with Susan providing a bag of fresh made muffins to take with us the next morning. We will certaiinly be back to stay on our next trip from Florida
We enjoyed our stay very much. The Inn was so beautiful. The room was lavishly appointed, and the grounds beautifully restored, even after tornado damage! The breakfast was unique and delicious. Susan and Kim were so friendly and informative. The whole experience was so warm and friendly delightful.
I could only stay 2 nights but they were so wonderful. I wanted to get away for some stress relief and it sure took my mind to a calm and peaceful place. The owners were very attentive but not obtrusive. I felt very secure with the way they have things set up. The gardens on their property were nice to wander around, check out all the different flowers and plants, the koi pond with fountain and then to sit and swing in the gazebo. Just thinking about it takes me back. Last but not least was the fabulous breakfast. It was to die for. I would highly recommend this to anyone. If you are a history buff there is a lot more wonderful old homes in the town of Americus and a variety of other types in the surrounding area like Andersonville National Historic Park which is only one of many either in Americus or close by. I loved the old home and the way they have worked to preserve it. Can you tell I had a good time!!
Yes--our recent stay was so restful and wonderful, and the breakfast was so special. Thank you, Susan, for taking time to chat and share. You are a great innkeeper and take care of so many details. The historical events in your area were such a surprise to us both.
ER
We came over from England to stay at this B&B for a week and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Susan and Kim are so welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them, they even lent us some chairs to take to an event! The inn itself is truly beautiful, as is the garden. It must take a lot of work to keep it in good order but it is well worth it!
We took a 3 week road trip and tried using B&B's instead of hotels for most of our stay. This was by far the nicest house and best hosts we had the entire time. Gardens are lovely and the breakfast is delicious! Susan and Kim have thought of everything a guest could possible want or need.
We brought back dinner from town to eat on the back porch and enjoyed coffee in the gazebo.
Thanks so much for everything - wish we had stayed longer.
Also thanks for the pictures you took of us at the end of the stay.
MY wife and I went to Americus for a R/C air show and had never been in the area before, so we checked the rooms available and found this bed and breakfast. The rates were good so we gave it a try. We were very happy we did. The room was great the hosts could not do enough for us and the breakfast was great. We also enjoyed meeting new people at breakfast. We will defintly come back to The Americus Garden Inn.
Susan met us before we were out of the car and escorted around the grounds
and explained everything in detail. The room was large and generously appointed. The amenities were very adequate and the location was in a quiet area along with other historic homes. We were served a very tasty and complete breakfast on our schedule. It was a very pleasant experience and we would highly recommend it.
We stayed on Saturday night prior to going to Andersonville. This was a wonderful location and a great Bed & Breakfast. Very nice and well kept. The innkeepers, Kim & Susan, provided that wonderful southern hospitality. Susan welcomed us at our car and helped us get our bags in, which was nice since it was starting to rain. And Susan did a wonderful job cooking breakfast the next morning. The only regret that we had was that I did not plan to stay longer with them. If my travels take me back to this area, I will definitely stay here again.
Our stay at the Americus Garden Inn Bed and Breakfast was only for one night and we left wishing for more. We expect to return to the beauty of this setting and the welcoming atmosphere. The rooms and garden are lovely and the breakfast quite special. We received some very helpful advice from Kim and Susan on sites to visit and we appreciated the attention to making not only our visit a comfortable one but our sight-seeing better than it would have been on our own. We highly recommend this as a destination.
Kim & Susan at Americus Garden Inn were awesome. Susan gave us a warm greeting, and showed us to our room. She gave us a run down of the town, and the local restaurants. Kim gave us the lowdown on local attractions, like Andersonville & Plains, and suggestions of what order to see things to make their stories come together. The food was good, and healthy. Snacks & fruits, as well as a compliment of beverages were available around the clock. We felt as if we had not rented a room, but a home. We would recommend AGI to our friends & family. Daryl Ray
I had a great stay at the inn. It was beautiful inside and out. Susan was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was yummy and those chocolate chip scones really hit the spot! Wish I could have stayed longer but hopefully I'll be back that way in the future. Thanks again for your hospitality.
We had an absolutely lovely time at this B&B! Our hosts were informative and made us feel welcome - like we were old friends come to visit! The food was delightful and beautifully presented. The grounds were also beautiful and it was very nice to be able to sit outside and simply soak in the gardens and the evening.
Our visit to nearby Plains, GA in early April was made complete by our stay at the Americus Garden Inn B&B. Our hosts were so very gracious and hospitable; our accommodations were comfortable and inviting; and the food was a pleasure to behold and to eat! We would highly recommend this B&B!
Our stay at Kim & Susan's B&B was the highlight of our 10 days away. Wish we could have stayed for more than one night! The rooms were spacious and spotless and the food was amazing, beautifully presented and very tasty. Great place to stay!
Kim and Susan were great hosts! Gave us a historical tour of their beautiful "home", informed us of restaurants in the surrounding area, and fixed an awesome healthy breakfast (pumpkin muffins, fruit, whole grain pancakes with REAL maple syrup). We stayed in the Library Suite...the only guest room on the 1st floor. We loved it! It was a huge room with floor-to-ceiling windows. Wished we had more time to just sit in their beautiful gardens behind the house. Would definitely recommend! We plan on going back and staying with them again.

This is the ONLY place we stay at when visiting Americus! Kim and Sue are such friendly folks and they can prepare a 3 course breakfast like no other! The best pancakes in the world!! Oh, and the scones?!! YUMMY!! Goodness, no matter what they serve for breakfast, you can bet it's going to taste delicious. Always a peaceful place to stay and relax, whether in your room, dining area, music room or garden :-) CLEAN, Quiet, and just a delightful atmosphere~
Our friendly hosts were always available for chatting and sharing local facts. Should we ever be near Americus again we will make it a point to revisit this B&B.
Having never been to a B&B, I wasn't sure what I was in for, but it turns out it was one of the best experiences ever. Susan met us in the driveway and carried my bag in the house for me. She gave us a tour of the inside and outside of the house, showed us where all the snacks and drinks were and told us to help ourselves. She has a very good library of movies to choose from and each room has a nice tv. The room we had, the Magnolia Room is very large and enchanting. The floor to ceiling windows stream in lots of sunshine and you can hear the water in the koi pond beneath the window. The bathroom is huge and equipped as well as any upscale hotel, including the plushest towels and robes you could want. The gardens are landscaped and beautifully laid-out for wandering and marveling at all the beautiful flowers and shrubs. The gazebo and enormous enclosed back porch are perfect spots to sit and enjoy the scenery and the weather.
The gourmet breakfast was cooked by Susan and served by Kim. It was an outstanding meal starting with chocolate chip scones, followed with a fresh strawberry and orange compote, the main course of individual turkey/cheese quiche with "feather" pancakes, so named because they are light as a feather.
There were two other female guests at breakfast and Kim and Susan joined us for great conversation and tales of the house and surrounding areas. We had such a good time, we were reluctant to leave, but have vowed to go back again and take all our friends and family with us. I know now why Americus Garden Inn earned the rating of being in the TOP 10 B&B in the U.S. for four years and last year being rated in the TOP 10 B&B in the world. Thank you Kim and Susan for a great time, your hospitality was marvelous!
This B&B was a new adventure to my wife and I, and after this first time, she has decided that it will be our new tradition. Kim and Susan are more like friends than innkeepers, and the House is beautiful. The Breakfast was excellent, and We could not have been more pleased with our room. If you are looking for a weekend getaway this is a great idea, and I highly recommend Americus Garden.
Such a wonderful, warm and nuturing stay! The Inn is our first choice for all our visits in South Georgia -- and we do have many other choices! This is our third stay, and we're always disappointed that we can't stay longer. Susan and Kim set a standard that other B&B's will have difficulty matching.
This B&B is a lovingly restored and maintained 1849 home in the historic downtown area of Americus GA. The innkeepers, Kim and Susan, are perfect for the job – attentive and accommodating. The Inn invites you to lounge in the common areas exploring the many interesting books and magazines, or socialize with other guests while enjoying snacks from the dining room, or simply relax and get a good night’s sleep before heading out for day time adventure. Susan and Kim are coffee connoisseurs and have developed their own signature blend Americus Garden Inn coffee. It is superb! Coupled with the gourmet breakfast Susan prepares, you have a great start to your day. The bed was one of the best we have slept on away from home and the bed linen was what you always hope for – tight, taught, crisp sheets! We highly recommend the Americus Garden Inn – and the delights of exploring small towns in America from the comfort of a B&B.
I suprised my husband for his 40th b-day by taking him away for the w/e to Americus Garden Inn. The moment I first received the e-mail response from Susan, I knew I picked the right place to go. When I spoke to Susan on the phone she was so friendly and courteous. She asked what type of food I liked. If I had any dietary restrictions. I have never encountered that before. She was waiting for our arrival and arrived at the car to wish my husband Happy Birthday and to help us carry our bags in. Her breakfasts are outstanding! Kim was so attentive to our needs. He was always smiling and friendly. Susan and Kim made us feel at home. We never felt rushed at breakfast. Susan even noticed the day before at breakfast that I didn't like the peel on my pear at breakfast - the next morning she peeled the pear before serving. We have stayed at many B&B's and have never encountered such care and attention to us. If you are looking for a getaway or just traveling near Americus - you must stop in at Americus Garden Inn. The rooms were clean and inviting. The history was fascinating to hear. We made new friends with fellow guest at breakfast. Kim and Susan are outstanding as Innkeepers. Both my husband and I felt like family when we left. We can't say enough good things about either of them and their lovely Inn. We will be going back!
My husband and I spent 2 wonderful nights at the Americus Garden Inn. Susan met us at the door with fresh baked brownies. From the moment we walked in the door we could feel the love and the warmth of the "home". Susan gave us an excellent detailed history of the Inn as she took us on a tour. When we reached our room we had a banner over our door for our anniversary as well as rose petals and chocolates on the bed. It had been cold and rainy and the heated mattress pads were heaven sent. The next morning we woke up to Susan and Kim preparing us a delicious 3 course breakfast. They even sent us muffins to go for the day and went over the best ways to visit the area. There is so much more I could talk about Susan and Kim but I just can't find the words to express the delightfulness they bestowed upon us. They treated us like family. I definately would reccomend this Inn to anyone. Thank you Susan and Kim.
We had stayed with Susan and Kim before and were confident recommending the Garden Inn to our friends riding with us to Americus and Plains. Though the weather was chilly, the reception at the Inn was, as we knew it would be, exceptionally warm. We once again experienced the wonderful hospitality we first found two years ago. It was satisfying to see that our friends (from North Carolina) also found the experience to be first rate. The accommodations were excellent, and the breakfast outstanding. All four of us agreed, we would return again in a heartbeat.
The next day (Sunday) I met a stranger who had stayed the night in another establishment in Americus who asked about the Garden Inn. Without thinking, I told him that if he chose to stay with Susan and Kim, he would feel like he was staying with family.
(Note to anyone considering the Garden Inn for the first time -- although, at this time, renovations were taking place, they had absolutely no impact on the accommodations or quality of service.)
My new favorite place to stay between home and ATL.
Friendly owners with attention to every detail helped me unwind after a hectic business meeting in Atlanta. A beautiful small town setting, bedtime snacks, a hearty breakfast and a heated mattress pad made this inn really stand out.
We had been talking about staying at Americus Garden Inn for over a year, but it took a record snow storm to get us here. Unable to get through Atlanta on our way back from Florida, we decided to stop in Americus for the night. We were grateful that the inn had a room available and the inn keepers were willing to take us on such short notice. After an afternoon of touring Plains, we were welcomed warmly by Kim and Susan, given a tour of the first floor of the inn along with its history, and offered delicious cookies and refreshments.
Once we settled into our spacious room, we went out to eat then came back to watch a video about local history in the privacy of our room.
Breakfast the next morning was delicious. Wish we could have stayed for another. There is so much to see and do in the area, we hope to actually plan a trip back to Americus and Plains and Americus Garden Inn.
The Americus Garden Inn is a beautiful tranquil retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We took a step back in time as we climbed the lovely "Tara" like staircase.
Lofty bed, incrediable ediables served up by such a warm and gracious host and hostess--what more could anyone want??
We are very seasoned travellers and found this B & B to be rated "B B & B"--BEST BED AND BREAKFAST!!

Kim and Susan made our stay so enjoyable! We received a personal welcome and tour of the Inn, which is absolutely charming! Our room was huge and comfortable with an enormous bathroom. Susan's homemade breakfast was delicious! Kim's suggestions as to the best way to see the Andersonville Prison and POW Museum were invaluable. Next time we are in the area we will be sure to stay longer at this beautiful B&B.
I live in Atlanta, but I had to come to Americus, GA on business and will be back and forth for 2 months. Susan and her husband Kim are absolutely the most genuine, welcoming and personable people I've met in a lodging/hospitality setting in a long time. My friends often say that I'm very "particular" about my comfort which is just a nice way of saying that I'm snobby when it comes to my accommodations and they're absolutely right. I don't like to stay in any place that isn't as comfortable, convenient, clean, and safe with lots of character - just like my own home. Well this B&B has all of that with a bonus - 2 wonderful owners who are an absolute pleasure to know. First, the home is in the historic district so driving through the area is beautiful and when you reach the B&B the outside of the home is just gorgeous (huge and nicely lit). Drive around back and Susan greets you before you can park the car and actually asks to help you carry your things! The inside of the house is very immaculate, clean and well pulled together without being overly feminine or pretentious. The King size bed and comfy mattress were perfect for me (firm but a tad soft), sheets were soft and an electric blanket under the sheets to keep it nice and cozy unlike the cold temp outside. The bathroom had spa quality mini bath, soap, shampoo and shower gels if you needed and the shower head was upgraded to project a steady and full flow of hot water. Each room has a VCR and they have a huge variety of movies you can watch, not to mention FREE WI-FI. OMG The breakfast was so absolutely delicious. You just can't go wrong with this place, especially considering the other options in the Americus area. Staying here compared to the hotels chains is a tremendous value and such a no-brainer. I'm looking forward to going back.
Kim and Susan's B & B in Americus, GA is outstanding in every way and if any B & B in the USA warrants a star above our typical 5-Star rating system, then this is it. They have thought of everything. There is nothing more you will need during your trip in Americus that they have not already provided. They are the most wonderful hosts, a perfect example of southern hospitality. The rooms are very comfortable and the breakfast rivals any 5-Star restaurant you will find. You will not be disappointed in this B &B.
We were traveling through Americus and stayed here for one night. Lovely room and accommodations. Every detail was considered to make our stay enjoyable. The breakfast was four star and the service was excellent. Our hosts were knowledgeable about the historic features of the area as well as being friendly. I would recommend to all.

We can't wait to go back! The warm and friendly innkeepers, Kim and Susan, made us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. The entire house was immaculately clean and beautifully appointed, yet seemed to say, "relax and make yourself at home". Movies, board games, reading materials, and 24/7 snacks and beverages did abound! The bed was possibly the most comfortable we've ever slept in. The grounds and gardens make you long to linger there for hours. While Susan prepared and served us a meal that was absolutely a delight for the taste buds and the eyes, Kim faithfully stood vigil and kept our coffee freshly refilled. This B&B exceeded our wildest expectations!!!!!

My wife and I stayed at the Americus Garden Inn B&B for 3 nights in October. The B&B is located in the beautiful historic district of Americus and only a 10 minute walk (we are from Europe) from downtown Americus through the historical district.
Upon arrival we were greeted by Susan who provided us with detailed information on the area sites, where to dine, etc. The inn itself, the garden and our room were very well maintained and extremely clean. The breakfast was prepared and presented in a fabulous way; a pleasure for the eye too. Susan and Kim were terrific hosts during our stay.
If you are planning a trip to Americus or the area, you should include a stay at the Americus Garden Inn B&B. The B&B does not come recommended. It comes highly recommended.

I was in town for a work function and wanted a place to stay where I could unwind and get a good night's sleep (I don't usually sleep well when I travel). I couldn't have asked for a better experience! I stayed in the whirlpool suite and it was very heavenly! The tub was relaxing and placed where I could look around the room (I loved relaxing to the views of the peacock art on the wall), and the bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in! And the food...well, that was absolutely amazing too. Clearly, this B & B deserves a few night's stay (or more) when you are in Americus. I loved it and am sure you will love it too!
Susan and Kim are the best hosts we've ever had at a B&B. We've never felt more welcome or taken care of. They hung a congratulations banner over our door because we were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. The room was very comfortable and everything we needed was provided. The house is beautiful. The breakfast was amazing! The best part of our stay was getting to visit with Susan for a while after breakfast, learning how her and Kim found their way to Americus, GA. It's obvious they love what they do and it shows. We've stayed at B&B's across the country and this is the best one by far! You won't be disappointed. We would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves in Americus.

We visited Americus with several other friends and occupied 6 suites at the Americus Garden Inn B&B for 2 nights. We could not have been more pleased with the experience. Kim and Susan were perfect hosts; providing us with perfect accommodations, detailed information about area sites and restaurants, and delicious breakfasts. If you are traveling anywhere near Americus, do not pass up the opportunity to stay at the Americus Garden Inn; you will be glad you did!
My sister and I went on a 12 day trip from Alaska to see a part of the country we had never been to. We had a wonderful time away from our usual routines, and the Americus Garden Inn was a highlight. We had scheduled a one-night stay and were pleased when we were able to extend our stay another night. Susan and Kim were delightful - very hospitable and ready to help with any need. Breakfast was outstanding. You won't be disappointed!
My wife and I had a delightful time at the Americus Garden Inn. Located about 45 miles off the interstate and tucked away in a lovely section of town, the owners made us feel so welcome. The food was delicious and the hospitality outstanding. Highly recommend for city folks looking for an escape in the country!!
We have stayed at Americus many times and each visit just gets better. Susan and Kim are wonderful hosts...warm and gracious. Breakfast is always a delight, in presentation as well as taste. If anyone is looking for a B & B in Georgia, this is a MUST stop.
My dad, my friend and I stayed at Americus Garden Inn after visiting the Fair and cemetary/prison in Andersonville, GA. The fair was great but unexpectedly the Bed and Breakfast Stay was the HIGHLIGHT of our weekend trip! We all left feeling very nurtured, rested and delighted with the whole experience! Can't wait to go back!!!!! :)

Americus Garden Inn is a wonderful Bed and Breakfast. The room are clean, beds are comfortable and breakfast is the best. Susan and Kim do a wonderful job to make sure your stay is very enjoyable. We took our 13 year old grandaugther with us on this trip. Susan and Kim took such good care of her that she didn't want to go home. It is a great experience to stay in this stately home with all of its history. They have a beautiful garden that is relaxing to walk through and enjoy. We stay at Americus Garden Inn every chance we get. We always look forward to our stay there and have never been disapointed.
My husband and I traveled to Americus for the Peanut Festival in Plains. Had a lovely 2-night stay at Americus Garden Inn. Kim and Susan were wonderful hosts. Our room, the balcony room, was extremely clean and spacious. Food was fabulous - Susan's brownies are the best I've ever had! Enjoyed chatting with Kim, Susan and the other guests during breakfast, but also had ample privacy. Would definitely recommend!
We had a wonderful stay at Americus Garden Inn. The food was fantastic and our room was beautiful and very comfortable. All of our needs were taken care of and we felt like we were long-time friends of the owners. I would recommend this Bed and Breakfast to anyone looking for a memorable place to stay.
A lovely inn tucked away in a lovely town. Susan is an excellent hostess and couldn't have been more gracious and accomodating. Lovely gardens to stroll or enjoy a glass a wine. Big spacious porch and a porch all our own. A lovely night's stay.

Our stay was wonderful in every way! From the first moment there until the last, it could not have been better. We were made to feel very welcome at all times. These owners seem to enjoy what they do and it shows in the details. Our ten year old daughter was not ready to leave- she loved every minute. The breakfast was fabulous. Susan posts the menu the evening before and you have all night to look forward to the feast. What a way to start the day!!!
Our first B&B and wow.....what an expierence. The friendliness, welcoming attitudes of Kim and Susan, and wonderful breakfast are all unmatched! What a wonderful time we had. By chance I stayed with Susan & Kim about a year ago and thanks to Susan I am living a healthier life. After discussing with her some of my health problems she suggested some helpful reading that lead to my discovery of the cause of my health problems. And that was in addition to staying in the most comfortable room, with the most caring hosts. This year after a trip up to the Blueridge Mountains we went out of our way to spend another night at this wonderful and accomodating Bed & Breakfast Inn. It doesn't get any better!

As we pulled in front of the house we could imagine a grand party in the courtyard a hundred years ago with the ladies in their finest dress and the men smoking their pipes and talking business while admiring the ladies.
As we pulled in the driveway and along side the house we had our first glimpse of the beautiful grounds, a luscious garden that beckoned us to come and sit awhile and just enjoy all that it had to offer. We were given a big smile and an enthusiast wave by a gentleman who seemed genuinely happy to see us, this turned out to be Kim, and he really was genuinely happy to see us! We were met at the door by Susan who turned out to be an amazing person. She truly is the definition of HOSPITALITY; first we were given a tour of the common areas of the house, while also learning some history of the home and the area. We were then shown to our rooms where she explained the little things like how to access the veranda if we wanted to enjoy the porch, and how she had closed one set of curtains but left another open based on the sun rising in the morning. We awoke in the morning to the smell of rich delicious gourmet coffee and the scent of a delicious breakfast being prepared for us…..I could go on and on about how wonderful my visit to Americus Garden Inn was, from the history, the delicious gourmet breakfast, the tranquility of the garden, the view from the veranda, the richness of the sheets, the comfort of the mattress, the wonderful reading materials and the many other special treats that Kim and Susan had arranged for us, but first and foremost in my mind is the level of customer service, attention to detail and sincere kindness exhibited by both Kim and Susan. This was my first visit to Americus and my first visit to a B&B, I will return many times in the future, simply for the pleasure of staying at Americus Garden Inn.
Wonderful 2 night stay while traveling with our 11 year old grandson and visiting Andersonville. Susan and Kim take great pride in their home and in making your stay as enjoyable as possible. Their home is in excellent condition, extremely clean and comfortable with a touch of Southern Charm & Antebellum elegance. Breakfasts are exquisite and presented with style and could easily be on the cover of Gourmet Magazine. As hosts they go out of their way to make your stay hassle free.
We will definitely tell our friends about our experience and plan a return visit.
We simply went out of our way on our trip in order to experience for our 4th time the marvelous inn and its gracious hosts. Lovely, clean, lots of books about the history of the area, and delicious and widely varied breakfasts, and friendly, caring hosts.

We had a great stay at the Americus Garden Inn. Kim and Susan are great hosts who put their all into making certain that the guests have the best experience possible. Restaurant and stght seeing options were great and the breakfasts were a true highlight of our Georgia visit. Susan is great chef, Kim is a great host, and they are a great team of innkeepers. You cannot miss with a stop at the Americus Garden Inn!
When we drove in, we were welcomed by Susan and began to feel the warmth she and the house had to offer. I loved the room we chose, especially the fitted sheets and the special amenities as the drapes being closed while we were at dinner as well as the huge ceiling fans. Susan suggested a movie for us to watch before we went to Andersonville. What a wonderful suggestion!!!! I understood so much more because of that.
Susan explained so much history about the house and the upcoming visit to Andersonville.
The breakfast requires a whole new paragraph. Double chocolate scones were awesome on the morning we were there as well as the morning after. You see, she wrapped them up for us. The shirred eggs, the oatmeal pancakes, the red white and blue fruit compote were great as well as the coffee.
Needless to say, we would love to go back to have the wonderful experience again. A+ for the whole time we were there

We chose the Americus Garden Inn as an ideal location to take us away from the stresses of moving cross country from Virginia to New Mexico. We could not have selected a more perfect place to stay! Susan and Kim are wonderful hosts with big hearts. While making our reservation, Susan asked for our input on breakfast ingredients - something we have not experienced before - and we knew this would be a memorable experience. The spacious balcony room met our every need and the breakfasts were awesome. We enjoyed the conversations and the personal tour through their gardens. If we are blessed to have the Air Force move us back to the East Coast, we will be sure to visit the Americus Garden Inn again.
We loved the area, the home is exceptional. The room was fantastic, beyond comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful. It is hospitality plus, our hosts are extraordinary. When we return to the area, we will stay again.
Best B&B experience ever, all due to really caring and solicitous owners, Susan & husband, Kim!
I was immediately pleased when calling to make our reservation, and mentioning to Susan that first we were going to the historic Andersonville site, she then suggested the best way to get the most out of the trip.
Then upon our arrival, we received a fascinating tour of the beautiful 1847 home. Our room was spacious, as was the bathroom area, and even had robes provided. Even more importantly, the bed was very comfortable.
A generously supplied refreshment area is also provided for you, 24/7, should you require it.
A gourmet breakfast was served to us, in courses of fresh fruits, a delightfully presented ribbons of omelets, with scrumptious pancakes...Susan has a degree in this & it shows...and on our morning, great chocolate chip cappuccino muffins, which she insisted we take with us as we left. Kim does not let your coffee cup go empty! They were lot of fun to chat with, too.
They provided us with maps and directions for finding a dinner spot, as well as the best way back to the highway, for our next destination.
They're a caring couple who want you to have the best experience possible at their inn, and we did!

We had never been to a B&B before, but our expectations were exceeded by far. The room was great, the food was amazing, and the house was so cozy. We could not have asked for a better little getaway. There were many activities we could have never done unless we came to Americus, for example seeing the house Jimmy Carter grew up in or visiting the Habitat for Humanity International Site. We will definately be back and would reccomend this B&B to anyone!
A wonderful retreat in a beautiful and historic location
We stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The room was beautiful and the innkeepers wonderfully friendly. They are restoring the house and grounds after a tornado two years and everything is looking great - especially the gardens in the back.
you really need to visit Americus Garden Inn. The owners couldn't have been nicer. I really felt that I had known Susan and Kim for years and they were just sharring their home, describing their community (where to go, what to see, where to eat) with old friends. Susan is a wonderful cook --- best breakfast I have had in a long time.

My uncle and I just loved the Americus Garden Inn, and especially it's
owner's Susan and her husband Kim. What a wonderful experience in an 1847 mansion. I never dreamed it would be so lovely. I wish we would have been able to stay longer. The garden is breathtaking, the breakfast was out of this world, especially the double choclate scones with almonds. The rooms are gorgeous and very comfortable. A true delight in Americus, Georgia.

This get-away was for our second "Babymoon" and we wanted to stay somewhere different, so we chose a B&B. We chose Americus Garden Inn because of the excellent ratings we saw online and we were not disappointed! Susan and Kim were incredible hosts - so warm and friendly and just made us feel very welcome and at home from the minute we got there to the minute we left! They pay attention to the little details - rose petals and chocolates on the bed, a "Congratulations" banner across our bedroom door and fresh homeade chocolate chip cookies upon our arrival (just to name a few)! The house is amazing and everything was so clean. Our room was beautiful and we really enjoyed the jacuzzi. We loved hearing about the history of this beautiful home, too. Susan is also a terrific cook and even made sure that we didn't have any dietary restrictions! We made memories that we will not soon forget!!
I have never experienced such a warm and loving atmosphere in an inn or hotel like I did at Americus. Susan is the essence of love and warmth and she spreads them all through the house. My room at the B&B was cozy and the best part about it was the balcony. After a long day at work, I would sit on the rocking bench and look out into the beautiful, serene garden and instintley relax. This is the place to be if one is traveling to Americus (or any surrounding areas) on business. Breakfast was AMAZING!!
Our stay at the Historic Americus Garden Inn was delightful! Innkeepers, Susan and Kim Egelseer, were gracious, kind and attentive, we truly felt pampered. During our stay, we visited Andersonville, and as a result of their informative suggestions, the visit was much more meaningful. We attended a wonderful play at the Historic Rylander Theater, which was a real treat. This was also a great suggestion from our hosts. We highly recommend the Americus Garden Inn, you will definitely not be disappointed.
Kim and Susan Egelseer, owners of the Americus Garden Inn, were very friendly and helpful. We loved our room, the Veranda Suite, as well as the rest of the house. The Inn is very homey and cozy-we felt like we lived there. Susan is a fantastic cook, and our breakfasts were delicious. We are already looking forward to going back again.

My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Americus Garden Inn. We have stayed in many B&Bs in the U.S.A., and this one is the best ever! Susan and Kim are the epitome of how customer service should be. However, they exceeded! The breakfast was awesome, and every morning, Susan packed up the remaining muffins to enjoy later in the day. Finally, our room was spotless. I loved the tall ceilings throughout the house, too. Needless to say, we will return to this enchanting B&B.
Romantic, cozy, private, delicious food & super hosts!
Well, we are home following our wonderful Georgia vacation and going back to work today-------However, I am still in vacation mode and very slow to wake up to my normal 5:45 a.m. alarm. My eyes still closed, trying to pull it together, I hear the song birds outside my window. I immediately think, "I'd better wake Jim up so we won't be late for breakfast!" I pause for a moment hoping to smell the special blend coffee that I have learned to love so much during our five-day-stay here at the gorgeous Americus Garden Inn. With eyes still closed, I make my way into the bathroom, knowing that the other friendly guests will soon be in the dining room for our fantastic breakfast and visiting. I make it into the shower, then reach for the fluffy, green towel that I know will be waiting for me on the towel rack. I've learned that the elves keep everything organized, supplied and polished, but you never see them. Wish I had some of those elves back in Oklahoma. Wait! Is this a joke? This towel is not thick and fluffy. I force one eye open, and find that it's not green. Is this a bad dream? Forcing the other eye open and realizing I'm in my own bathroom, the old line from The Wizard of Oz comes to mind - altered a bit - No, Carole, you're not in Georgia anymore!" BUT, I will be this time next year!

The Scarlett O'Hara Suite is absolutely beautiful. Susan is a marvelous chef. We were enjoying our conversation with our hosts so much at breakfast, we were late getting started on our visit to nearby Andersonville.
The best of history and modern comforts in one fabulous place!
My mom and I were on a short trip and, enjoying old places the way we do, wanted to stay in a B&B with some history to it. We thoroughly enjoyed everything about Americus Garden Inn. Room comfort was unsurpassed, with fine linens and high quality mattresses, and the bathroom was updated and offered more than the trickle of water from the shower that you sometimes find in neat old places! Owners are primary caretakers of the inn, and they work hard to be sure each guest feels special and welcome. Breakfast alone is worth the stay, with delectable courses such as chunky apple oatmeal pancakes and shirred eggs, blueberry muffin tops and tangerine and kiwi sections! Susan creates breakfasts to meet not only guests' dietary needs, but their preferences as well, and she and her husband Kim take great care to ensure their visitors have a wonderful B&B experience. Together they have great knowledge of the area and they are happy to share what they know. Treat yourself!
My husband is at Fort Benning for OSC training and he had a break for Easter weekend. All he wanted to do was sleep and enjoy the quiet. So he came across this B&B and we book a room for 2 nights. WOW, we just LOVED it. The house is beautiful, everything was blooming. Even the frogs were charming. Our room was so nice and comfy we hardly left it. Then there are the owners Kim and Susan, what can i say they are super great lovely people who made us feel so welcome. Susan can make the best breakfast you have ever eaten. (blueberry muffins yummy!!!) We are hoping to go back in May and bring our parents with us so they can enjoy it just as much as we did.
Our first stay was basically to attend Sunday School with Jimmy Carter. The hospitality was teriffic and when we needed a stopover with a friend from Hilton Head Island to home we simply rang Kim and Susan and booked. On both ocassions we visited the Andersonville Prison site. The Windsor hotel is a gem to visit and reminisce of yesteryear and have a good meal as well. Wonderful experiece overall, especially the food. Go Susan!!!!
It's what you wish for in choosing a bed & breakfast!

From the moment I spoke with Susan in March 2007, I knew we were in for a special experience.
Heading up to Andersonville National Historic Site, we waited almost too late to find a place to rest. My husband and I pulled off the road to phone a few places, on the off chance we'd be able to find something late in the day. By sheer luck, we reached Susan. She sensed our exhaustion (and my husband’s frustration) and identified our backroad location, patiently guiding us back to Americus ... by phone. She waited for our late arrival, offered suggestions for places to dine late, and, best of all, offered a truly comfortable night in an absolutely lovely old home. Of course, we didn't realize until we arrived in Americus the extent of the devastation and that the Inn had suffered significant tornado damage, as well.
We stayed that night and, because of the treatment we received, even under the most trying of circumstances, made the decision to extend our stay another night. It was the best ever. My husband is NOT a B&B guy. He likes a big comfortable bed, air conditioning and great tv reception! All that was just the norm, so he was very happy. I loved the personal attention visible in the rooms open to us, painstakingly restored to style with every effort made to cater to updated needs. The baked cookies and special breakfast fares are perfect … all the way to the “presentation.”
We returned to the Garden Inn this year because of the treatment we received. This visit was even better, if that’s possible. From that first connection, my husband and I were made to feel like part of their family. We were reluctant to leave and are already planning our next visit there! Don’t pass this one up! Diane and Mike
Kim and Susan made us feel at home from the very beginning of our stay. Fresh coffee and home-made cookies were just the thing we needed after a long drive. Our room was both comfortable and quiet. Susan is a wonderful cook; our breakfast was delicious! We even took a chocolate muffin with us to snack on later. We will definitely stay there again!
What a great experience to be had by all who are looking for a Romantic getawy or just some time to relax and refuel. This was a surprise given to me by my husband in celebration of our 31st wedding anniversary and my 50th birthday. Kim and Susan go out of their way to make you feel so welcome and comfortable in their home and go out of their way to may every day special. This was our first experience at a B&B, and I may never stay at a hotel again. Loved every minute, wish it could have been longer, and will be back as soon as possible. The Americus Garden Inn is clean, comfortable, welcoming, and warm with special toushes every where. The breakfasts are not only amazing but beautifully presented. The conversation wonderful, the area beautiful and friendly, surrounded by history and plenty to do. We left feeling like we were part of the family and have definitly meet two very special people. What gracious and kind hosts. Thanks for everything and for making our stay a treasured memory. We will be back :D
Bed was very comfortable , breakfast was great, Kim and Susan were gracious hosts -- that's what B and Bs are all about. Highly recommended.
We liked the cats, too.
Kim and Susan have thought of everything to make their guests feel welcome and pampered. Your "home away from home" is lovely and immaculate. Their breakfast is the best you've ever tasted, and the presentation exquisite. Their topics of conversation are interesting, funny, and informative and they are sincerely interested in your stories. To us, their unspoken goal appeared to be to make their guests as comfortable as possible, and to make this B&B experience an enjoyable one. Mission accomplished!
Warm(er) Weather Escape, History, Southern Charm, Great Innkeepers
As we were escaping the cold and somewhat sustained upper Mid-west winter, we realized it was the 47th anniversary of our meeting in 1963! The weather was also unseasonably cold in the south as well, and, it was late February (mid-week), so the occupancy was low. The beautiful yard and landscaping looked as chilly as Michiganders. Non of that mattered; Kim and Susan were very cordial, gregarious and wonderful innkeepers, and they out-performed on every item they could control. Since 1982, we had enjoyed SE Georgia and the Golden Isles area for years while the girls were at home and traveling with us. It turns out Western and SW Georgia is also a great region for adventure, discovery, kicking back, and at the same time, learning a lot of history.
Home and gardens- historic and well done. Library Rm was optimally sized and appointed. Service- didn't feel like service, but more like spending time with old friends.
Cleanliness- excellent; absolutely no complaints.
Dining- Americus has several fine options; Susan's breakfasts were absolutely the BEST.
Value- for a couple that likes relaxed refinement in beautiful old homes, it's great.
We still have lots of things we want to do in W and SW Ga, so the Americus Garden Inn is at the TOP of the list of B&Bs we would make a destination. If you normally travel the interstates, get off and find your way to this Inn.......... but you better make a reservation! Bill & Marie- Pleasant Ridge, Michigan
This was our second stay at this warm and wonderful B & B. We were greeted like long lost friends. We took our visiting niece to Plains and Andersonville and Americus is a good stop over point to do both. There were 3 in our party and we had the ground floor Vernada and Library rooms. The Veranda is perfect for readers with a sofa and two wing chairs with a reading light. We took advantage of the large VHS library and watched the movie, Andersonville, which prepared us for the next day. This room also has a soaking tub and a separate room for the WC. It is great for a couple who likes privacy for their ablutions. It was great to be right across the hall from the dining room where you can get a soda (many sugar free options), coffee or tea and homemade chocolate chip cookies. I was able to retrieve my first cup of coffee for the day in my bathrobe. The bedfast was more than you could ever want. I hated to see one of my oatmeal pecan pancakes go to waste but I was full after blue berry muffins, juice, egg and cheese pie and the pancakes. My husband and I have stayed in many B&Bs over the years and this one is on the top of the list. You will not want for anything and the innkeepers will feel like friends in short order. Kim and Susan have some good stories or ask about Scarlett or Isabella when you visit. I want to return when the gardens are in bloom. Another couple arrived that evening and we ended up getting pizza and eating in the dining room sharing the delivery fee. No one wanted to leave the B & B after our arrival.
The Americus Garden Inn Bed and Breakfast was a wonderful discovery for my husband and I when looking for an overnight stay from Florida to our home. We felt welcomed from our initial phone call booking our room by Susan inquiring about our needs and preferences. The historical home was beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a gourmet delight. Kim and Susan excel as innkeepers in offering not just a "stay" but an "experience".
Finding the Americus Garden Inn on our trip home from Florida to Minnesota was a real serendipity. We have stayed in many B & B 's in the U.S. and Europe and this has to be one of the best. Kim and Susan are perfectionists and it shows in all they do. They are warm and genuine and very conscientious about every detail. We will definitely stay there again.
The food was wonderful, the hosts were wonderful. Every little detail was thought of and taken care of. The hosts went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful stay. Everything was great!
Staying at the Americus Garden Inn Bed and Breakfast, in Americus, GA, was like living the life of royalty in a lovely antebellum mansion. We felt like family with all the amenities of home: dining room open 24 hours a day with fresh baked cookies, snacks, coffee, wide variety of teas and soft drinks, bed with fresh ironed sheets, and warm and sincere hospitality. And the breakfast was a gourmet delight. Since we indicated upon reservation that we were chocoholics, one morning we had chocolate muffins, and the second, chocolate chip scones, along with juice, fruit, and then the main dish.
Centrally located between the Andersonville Civil War Prison and National Cemetery, the quaint community of Plains with the home of President Jimmy Carter and his childhood home, and recreation activities at Lake Blackshear, Americus has much to offer for a leisurely vacation. The Americus Garden Inn is a great home away from home where southern hospitality shines.

My husband and I spent NY Eve at the Americus Garden Inn, and it was a lovely and peaceful way to start the New Year. Susan and Kim were wonderful hosts as well as chefs! Our gourmet breakfast was just right... beautiful, plenty, fresh and delicious, not stuffing you mercilessly like some other B&Bs we have stayed at. The Scarlett room was very cozy and charming.

My husband and I spent two nights here and enjoyed every minute of it. The house is absolutely beautiful! Our room was just perfect....large AND cozy! Attention to detail doesn't even begin to describe how things are handled here. Cleanliness is always very important to me, and the Americus Garden Inn was immaculate. The breakfasts that Susan prepares were the best I've ever had. Both Susan and her husband Kim made us feel totally welcome, at home, and pampered! We highly recommend this B&B and will be returning there ourselves.
The day after Christmas we had an amazing visit to Americus Garden Inn.
The house was beautiful and well kept, rich in history and very inviting.
Kim and Susan made us feel like family from a wonderful historical tour in the beginning to

We found the Americus Garden Inn when we planned our visit the see the Andersonville historic site a few miles away. We were very impressed with the friendliness of the owners. Kim when we called for a reservation, and Susan who made a special call back to us to tell us about other tourist attractions in the area, and find out our likes an dislikes for breakfast. This is the first time anyone from a B&B has asked that question – and our breakfast was superb. Susan also alerted us to the fact that we could go to church in Plains, Georgia and see President Carter teach a Sunday School class there – which we did and had our photo take with the Carters. We loved every minute of the weekend.

We cannot say enough about the wonderful amenities, fantastic hosts, charming surroundings, and to-die-for breakfasts. The Americus Garden Inn is truly a pleasure. Hosts Kim and Susan could not be more gracious in their welcome and attentiveness. The accomodations are exquisite - extremely comfortable and charming in presentation. We stayed in the Scarlett room, and it was quite simply ideal. Kim and Susan went above and beyond in making our stay one which we wished would not come to an end. Our interest in the Civil War and the nearby Andersonville Civil War site and National Cemetary brought us to Americus. Kim's knowledge of both made our visit so much better than it might have been without his suggestions. Susan's breakfasts were beyond description and we could have easily spent all of our time lingering in the friendly atmosphere of the dining room. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, felt like Kim and Susan were our newest "best friends", and plan on returning soon. We also enjoyed the quaint atmosphere of downtown Americus and the great dining at "The Station" another wonderful suggestion of Kim and Susan. Bill and Brenda, Pace, Fl.
First time B&B stay was outstanding. Beautiful home, spotless rooms, ironed linen, 24/7 refreshments, 24 different kinds of sodas - all at no cost. Just great!
Breakfast that you could not order at the most exclusive restaurant.
We have travelled all over the world and this experience was in our top 10 destinations. The house is immaculate and the service/atmosphere was outstanding.
I recently stayed at the Americus Garden Inn B & B while in Americus attending a conference. It changed my whole business trip experience. I was more relaxed and rested than usual. The house is lovely, the rooms large, well-appointed with comfortable beds, and private, modern baths. Every thing is extremely clean and there is incredible attention to detail to help travelers feel at home. There is free wireless access, although I admit I never checked email -- was simply feeling too relaxed! Kim and Susan are gracious and informative and serve an incredibly delicious breakfast. It was wonderful to have the opportunity to chat and network with colleagues in this home-like setting. We also got a chance to walk around the neighborhood and enjoy the historic homes as well as visit the downtown and the Habatat for Humanity Global village - which was very interesting. I really can't say enough about it and will definitely stay again should I return to the annual conference. Thanks so much to the innkeepers!

We frequent B&B's for the extra amenities and friendly innkeepers; this one is incomparable. Clean, comfortable rooms, world-class breakfast, serene gardens, and Kim and Susan's special brand of hospitality all made for an exceptional stay.
It was my most memorable lodging experience . . . ever
The trip to Americus was picturesque, we saw the exterior and was enamored, we entered the lobby then our room and were enchanted. Our morning breakfast and our host and hostess, made us feel enriched. This is my best lodging experience ever.
This was the most wonderful place to stay for any ocassion. The room was large and romantic. The Inn has a great history and the Kim and Susan have the best hosts ever. They really know how to make your stay well worth every moment. Do yourself a favor and come spend time in this beautiful Inn with the best of people.
Kim and Susan are as attentive or hands off as you desire. They will give you all the local information you want and will sit and talk about the history of the area and the Inn....or will wish you a good stay and let you do your own thing. The room, Inn and grounds were immaculate...the food, wonderful and imaginative. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Coming over from England to the USA for our first wedding anniversary was an easy decision for us - we love it here! however, trying to find somewhere romantic, cute, clean and helpful but still be reasonably priced wasn't so easy!
With the state of Georgia as our playing field we had a wide variety of places to stay!
However, after a long and hard trawl through hotels and B&B's, we finally booked Americus. I think it was the best decision we made for our entire holiday.
Communication before our trip was fantastic, we were greeted personally as we were getting out of the car, had a lovely tour round the beautiful inn and was then shown our wonderful wonderful room. We stayed in the Jacuzzi suite (which, by the way, the pictures do not do justice to!). We were welcomed to our room by a 'congratulations' banner over our door and scattered red petals and chocolates in a heart shaped bowl on our bed. It was such a beautiful personal touch.
The room was clean, bed was comfortable and jacuzzi to die for! We were sad we only had one night there but it was a fantastic stay and beautiful B&B.
Highly recommend it.
This is a beautiful Inn and the Innkeepers are warm and friendly and anxious to please. This was one of our most pleasant B&B Stays. Kim is most helpful in helping find things to see and places to dine and his recommendations are spot on. Susan is a wonderful chef and the breakfast is a dream and culinary delight. Highly recommend.
My mother, my sister and myself decided to stay at a B&B as our final destination to a wk long trip through Georgia and TN. This was all of our "first time" stay at a B&B. We did our research online for all B&B from Atlanta to Valdosta. This particular one kept us coming back to it, so we booked our night stay there.
Upon Arrival, Susan and Kim, (the innkeepers) met us at our car to help us carry our belongings in. Susan gave us a wonderful tour of the house as well as history. We were greeted with fresh baked cookies! Our room was huge and delightful. Kim called several restaurants to see who was open and still serving dinner. After dinner we took a bottle of wine and sat out on the balcony and enjoyed the evening. They even had movies for us to borrow and watch that night.
In the morning we were delighted with a great southern breakfast, and I mean Yummy!! along with great conversation. We were sad to have to leave after only one night there. Susan wrapped the remainder of our muffins for our trip home, and they supplied us with drinks as well. We will be returning for a longer stay soon. What a wonderful first time experience we had thanks to the care of Susan and Kim to make sure our trip was a success. Great place to stay!

As a single business traveler, I felt the need for a safe and secure place to stay. I definitely found that with the Americus Garden Inn Bed & Breakfast. The hosts of this beautiful house made me feel welcome. Every afternoon, I was greeted at the door with a "Welcome Home". After staying with them for 14 nights, it was most definitely home. Any one who travels to Americus, GA needs to investigate this place. Due to training with my job, I traveled for six months. This was absolutely the BEST place I stayed. I am currently planning a return visit to the Americus Bed & Breakfast - this time for pleasure and not work. This is the place I will stay anytime I have the need to be in the area and to stay overnight. I can not say enough about how wonderful Susan and Kim are.

I wanted to do something unique to celebrate my husband's 49th birthday, so part of my plans included an overnight stay at this lovely home. This was our very first experience staying at a Bed & Breakfast, and while I knew it would be a memorable experience, I had no idea how luxuriously pampered we would be! Our room was so beautiful. So elegant and comfortable. And there was a little dish on our bed, filled with an assortment of chocolates. We truly felt spoiled. That evening, we enjoyed a glass of wine on the balcony glider swing. The gardens were lit and we could hear the soft trickle of the water fountain in the koi pond. And that morning, we watched the sun rise to some fabulously brewed coffee and gazed at the gorgeous gardens. Once we headed downstairs for breakfast, we could smell such delicious aromas coming from the kitchen! A 3-course breakfast awaited us ~ all homemade, and some of the items were Susan's very own recipes. Everything was absolutely delicious. This was the best breakfast of my LIFE! I highly recommend this beautiful Garden Inn Bed & Breakfast to anyone. Once you've been here, you'll probably never be truly satisfied to stay in a hotel.

We've stayed in dozens of bed and breakfasts around the country, but our experience at the Americus Garden Inn was the best ever. Susan was simply remarkable! She was incredibly thoughtful in every way. She learned that we were vegans and then prepared special breakfasts and cookies that were delicious! (We certainly didn’t expect any special treatment!) She called local restaurants to find a chef who could accommodate us – and then called to get a table for us.
She was wonderful with our young niece – really listening to her ideas and making lovely suggestions regarding some plans the child was considering when she returned to school.
And she provided interesting information about questions we asked about the area’s history.
Susan is an engaging, knowledgeable, and gracious host -- really a gem of a person. We came away extremely impressed – AND the place was spotless, too!
A+!

This is a wonderful Bed and Breakfast. It is one of the best places we have stayed. The food, hospitality, owners were excellent. Very comfortable surroundings, very clean, just perfect. We will be back.
I just stayed at this B&B and was very impressed. This was my first time at a bed and breakfast and Kim and Susan were wonderful hosts. They were interested in knowing what we were wanting to see and do. They also let me know what special events were going on in the area. That led to some unexpected and fun memories. My sister and I were spending some time together and because of Kim and Susan's hospitality we had a great weekend. I would recommend this B&B to everyone, especially if it will be your first experience with a bed and breakfast.
In town to hear Jimmy Carter teach SS at Maranatha Baptist in Plains, my husband and I stayed at the Americus Garden Inn for 2 nights. Our room was absolutely perfect, the grounds beautiful and peaceful, and the atmosphere warm, restful and relaxing. The owners, Kim & Susan, are an amazing husband and wife team who felt more like our long-lost friends rather than the inn proprietors. From fresh baked cookies each evening to Susan's ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE gourmet breakfasts, the dining was fabulous. Their attention to detail and the personalized service with which we were taken care of made for a very memorable and special weekend for us. Both my husband (who HATES to travel) and I are looking forward to returning soon!
The Americus Garden Inn is a true gem in Georgia. It is the cleanest, most comfortable, and best staffed of any B&B my husband and I have stayed at both here in the US and abroad. Kim and Susan offer the best of southern hospitality right down to chocolates in your room, snacks in the dining room, video library, and the best breakfast we have ever had. Susan also told us how to best see the attractions nearby. Both Andersonville and Plains, Ga are just minutes away.Whether you are sightseeing in south Georgia or just want a romantic getaway, this is the place to stay. Our only regret was that we only had one night to enjoy. We will definitley be back. Thank you Kim and Susan for sharing your beautiful home and gardens with us. Debbie and Joe
This was the first time that my wife and I have ever stayed at a bed and breakfast. Kim and Susan, the owners/operators/hosts, were wonderful. Susan's breakfasts were delicious, and Kim and their cats kept us entertained. These two are the definition of "southern hopitality". We are already looking for another reason to go back to Americus so we can stay with them again.
My daughter and I stayed two nights at the Americus Garden Inn and enjoyed every minute. The garden was lovely, the rooms were spacious and beautiful, and we could not ask for better. The food was delicious and Kim and Susan could not do enough to make us feel special. I highly recommend a visit .

We stayed in Americus for one night one Saturday this summer as we were driving through to get to Jimmy Carter's speech the day after, and one of the friends I was travelling with found this lovely B&B on the web. It looked gorgeous, and we were not disappointed!
The owners were very friendly and warm, and gave us a tour of the house and showed us directly to our room - we were in the Burgundy Room on the 2nd floor, and it was a very nice room; to top it all off, there were chocolates, snacks and home-baked cookies waiting for us! What a treat! Snacks and drinks were included for the duration of our stay, and we could help ourselves to whatever we wanted - a nice touch, I thought.
The gardens around the property are excellent for an afternoon of reading or sunbathing (there are several hammocks dotted around).
Breakfast is a story in itself - 3 courses with fruit, juices, pancakes and quiche. Amazing!!
All in all a super B&B and we would definitely come again if we're ever in the area.

I knew after talking on the phone with Susan, that we were in for an absolutely wonderful experience. When we pulled into the driveway, we took a step back in time. The Garden Inn is a beautiful antebellum home with an expertly maintained garden and landscape. We were welcomed on the porch by our hosts Susan and Kim and were offered fresh baked chocolate chip cookies still warm from the oven. It was like coming home from a very long trip. Susan and Kim are simply wonderful caring people who love their inn and catering to their guests. They were very helpful in suggesting places to eat and area attractions. The Magnolia Suite was magnificent down to the smallest detail and was absolutely spotless. The highlight of our stay had to be that "Welcome Home Feeling" from Susan and Kim and Susan's gourmet breakfast fit for a king. The only thing that we didn't like was having to leave on Sunday morning. We will definitely be back in the Fall, hopefully for a longer visit.

It was a pleasure to slow down and enjoy the historic Americus Garden Inn with clean, cozy rooms, an excellent three course breakfast, and friendly hospitality. The innkeepers are very accommodating and will make sure that your visit is a memorable one. Don't pass up this B&B!

We wanted a relaxing weekend and thought this would be a beautiful place to visit…and we were right!! When Susan called to inquire about dietary restrictions and likes/dislikes – we laughed like old friends. I knew we were in for a treat and it only got better once we got there. The house and gardens are spectacular! The gazebo and koi pond are my favorites! Breakfast was an amazing feast…chocolate muffins, cinnamon roll griddle cakes, and fresh fruit…yum!!! We had a great time with the other guests - sitting in the parlor and getting to know each other while listening to a live piano concert. We all arrived as guests and strangers but left as friends! We can’t wait to come back!
Wow!!!What a pleasant and fun getaway!!
Kim&Susan are beyond outstanding and made our
25th wedding anniversary&first stay at a B&B
equally outstanding!!!The other guests were also
awesome and it really almost felt like a family
reunion! Our "journey" continues!!!
We will definitely go back to this lovely and warm
home to which Susan&Kim have put their heart
and soul into.Thanks for everything!!!!
We just returned from an incredible stay at Susan and Kim's B&B! The house and grounds are beautifully landscaped in this historical GA town. It is within a short driving distance of so many places to visit! Susan and her husband, Kim, are superb hosts and genuinely nice people. Their hospitality was warm and the food was outstanding. We enjoyed the parlor, the music, and the atmosphere. Other guests staying there were awesome people. It was for my husband and me, a special moment in time, being one of four couples, complete strangers, becoming friends in this lovely place. Thanks for providing such a clean and well preserved historical home for others to enjoy - even if only for a short time! We'll be back!
My husband and I wanted a quiet getaway for our anniversary. We had never stayed in a B&B before. I found this one on the internet because it was close to Providence Canyon and Plains and we had never been there. I read all the reviews and decided to take a chnce. We are glad we did. Susan and Kim's home was beautiful. Our room was so pretty and so inviting. We had a private balcony overlooking the Koi pond and part of the beautiful gardens. Susan met us in the parking lot, calling us by name like we were long lost friends or family. She was so friendly and nice that we felt right at home. She has a world of information about the house, the area. Places to see and places to eat. We had the run of the house, lots of snacks and drinks. Also Susan cooked the most wonderful breakfasts that you ever tasted. She also made sure before you got there that she would not serve you anything that you didn't like. It was scrumptious every morning!!!Thank you both for loving what you do and sharing with the rest of us!!
We had an amazing experience! It was our first stay in a B&B, but it will not be our last. Kim and Susan were so kind and excited to see us. The little tour of the house made us feel right at home. The other guests were another highlight. As we came back from dinner, we were pulled into the parlor with requests for someone who could play piano. After several hours, our new fast friends all parted ways to our room. We restarted the party at breakfast. I joked that I'd been ruined for hotels, but I think even the B&B bar has been set high!
Beautiful house and garden, Susan & Kim make our stay a wonderful adventure. Stories, great breakfasts, helpful suggestions on what to do and see. A superior B&B. We will go again.
My wife and I just returned from a weekend at the Americus Garden Inn. I must say it exceeded my expectations. Susan and her husband Kim were fantastic. The best service we have ever gotten at a B&B. They went out of their way to make sure we had a great anniversary weekend. The food was excellent...Susan does a fabulous job. You will not regret a stay at this B&B.

The home is beautiful, the breakfast was fantastic and the way Susan made us feel right at home made it worth the trip. I wish we could have stayed longer.
Stunning! Awesome! Delicious! Mysterious!
Just a few words to describe our stay at Kim's and Susan's Inn. Although my husband Wayne and I were there for business purposes, Susan and Kim turned our stay into an exciting adventure. The food was delicious, the house was magnificent, and the Innkeepers were very knowledgeable on what to do and see in the area. I found a new and exciting side to Americus, GA. But we are still looking for Isabella! (could she really be my great grandmother?)Kitty

Loved this B & B-perfect location, also great area for walking in the local neighborhood, lovely room,-and the bed was superb! great dining room with refreshments, nice areas to relax and read along with a great living room open to guests. lovely porch. highly recommended. exceptionally clean!
This was my first B & B experience and it was fantastic! Susan & Kim are the hosts and owners of this pre-Civil War home turned B & B. Each of the 8 rooms have a different theme. We stayed in the Magnolia Room, a bright room with bay windows, comfortable beds, large bathroom, and very clean. Just down the hall was a balcony where we enjoyed the sunset. There is a large parlor/music room and an inviting dining room. And the food! Susan is a master chef, preparing a delicious 3-course breakfast including made-from-scratch chocolate chip & peanut butter pancakes, blueberry muffins, quiche, fruit... and the food presentation is like something seen on Food Network. Susan is very knowledgeable about the area and gave great suggestions on restaurants and info about historical sites to visit. She is charming and makes you feel at ease. Susan & Kim have made this a 5-star B & B and I will definitely return!
Homey and inviting with lots of personal touches....a great place to be
Spotlessly clean, spacious quiet rooms, great variety of snacks and drinks available 24/7, warm hosts with great knowledge and tips about the area, and to top it off - Susan's great breakfasts. One thing we loved about the inn was the many different areas both inside and out where you could sit, have a snack and talk with our friends.

A+++++, This experience will be hard to match! This Bed & Breakfast has to be one of the best in the country! This "Pre-Civil War" home has been cared for by people with big hearts. They take care of the guests like they have this big, beautiful house. The rooms are great, the breakfasts were outstanding, and the garden is becoming a wonderful place to relax. Susan mixes "Northern Class" with "Southern Charm"! What a combination! We have and will recommend this Bed & Breakfast to everyone we know and hope everyone that reads this will choose to stay here also. You can't go wrong with a special place like this!
The Americus Garden Inn B&B is gorgeous and an excellent example of the beauty of pre-Civil War Southern architecture. The rooms are beautifully restored and decorated, and my room (jacuzzi suite) was perfect. When we first arrived, we were greated by Susan and within minutes we felt as if we knew them our entire lives. We were given a tour of the house and its history and we felt like we were at home.
All in all, Kim and Susan are tremendous hosts, and we will definitely visit again. They are great folks and have a tremendous B&B in a great location. We can't say enough about them and the top-quality people they are. New friends for sure!! First Class people and First Class B&B!
We have visited many B & B’s in our travels over the years and after visiting Americus Garden Inn Bed & Breakfast we must give it a 5 star rating. When planning a trip to Knoxville, TN from Florida we wanted to stay some place about half way between. After researching the internet I called Americus Garden Inn B&B to check on accommodations. What a wonderful conversation we had with Susan Egelseer and when we arrived at the B&B we were greeted by one of the most gracious hostess’s we have ever experienced. Susan received us like family and treated us like honored guests. The beautiful old home has spacious clean rooms and is located on a large landscaped lot in a quiet neighborhood. Good restaurants and shopping are just a short drive away.
The breakfasts that Susan served us were all home made and have just the right portions to satisfy your appetite and start off your day not to mention the presentation of the meal. Homemade muffins (if you like blueberries, she is the champ), fruit, eggs, specialty pancakes and something I can never get at any restaurant, V8 juice.
On our return trip from Knoxville we arrived early in the afternoon and visited the Andersonville Civil War Village and Historical Site and National POW Museum and Cemetery in nearby Andersonville GA before heading to the B&B. Our evening stay and morning breakfast was just a wonderful.
If you get an opportunity to stay with Kim & Susan at the Americus B&B you had better take advantage of it or you will be missing a wonderful experience.
We can’t wait for our next trip to Knoxville

Very nice innkeepers. We went to celebrate an anniversary and they made it a very nice, quiet, relaxing experience. Before we got there Susan called to check on food preferences/needs and to talk about our trip and make suggestions on time planning (which was VERY helpful). She let me know about events that would be going on the weekend we were there. Her and her husband both gave great advice on places to eat dinner, and asked where we ate and how was it. They are very friendly and make you feel very comfortable. My husband travels a lot and this is the first time he actually got a good night sleep on his first night in a place other than our house. The house is set up so you can easily have complete privacy or meet the other guest, which ever you prefer. Over all it was as comfortable as if I were at home, but not having to worry about cleaning or cooking. Speaking of cooking...the breakfast is incredible.
My husband and I stayed at The Americus Garden Inn for a romantic getaway and we were not disappointed! Everything was perfect--beautiful inn, clean, spacious room, wonderful owners/hostess, incredibly delicious breakfast. We hope to go there again.
We stayed at the Inn February 11-13, 2009. After 13 years of marriage, this was the first time my husband and I were able to get away together. We were incredibly pleased with our decision to stay here. Susan and Kim are wonderful hosts. The mansion itself was very warm and inviting. We felt very comfortable. This was my husbands first experience at a B&B, he was hesitant at first, but quickly changed his mind. Susan gave us great insight as to the area attractions, as well as restaurants. I can't express enough how great our stay was. Beautiful home, very romantic, comfortable rooms, many little touches to make the stay even more special, wonderful hosts, and the best breakfast out we have ever had. Susan went out of her way to plan a special breakfast each morning to our liking. If you love homemade specialties, and great accomodations, than plan a stay at the Americus Garden Inn B&B.
The old house is lovely, but the service and food are the features that make the Americus Garden Inn a real bargain. The service included a restaurant recommendation that also proved to be outstanding and a show at the Rylander Theater that made for a very enjoyable evening. The food was well beyond expectations for a breakfast and included everything we could have wanted, delivered to our table by the proprietors. Best of all was the warmth of the host and hostess who greeted us as friends and saw us off as even better friends. My advice -- drive out of your way for this one!
Planning a trip to Florida in June, 2007, we searched on the internet for a B & B to stop at along the way. Americus Garden Inn had great reviews and looked appealing so we made reservations.
Just arriving at this charming home and meeting Kim and Susan assured us that we had made the right decision. After seeing our lovely room and all the amenities that were available throughout the day, then experiencing a gourmet breakfast in the morning, we knew this was the best B & B ever.
When making our plans to visit Florida again in January of this year, there was no doubt where we would be stopping along the way. Once again, it was a wonderful experience. Kim and Susan have a real knack of making you feel like friends or family.
It's a must stop for us when we travel south. Make a reservation today...you'll love it.
My husband and I wanted to stay at a B&B in a different part of the State - not too far away but far enough to feel that we had gotten away (since it was a quick trip). I found Americus Garden Inn B&B through the Internet. Great reviews, so we thought we'd give it a try. We booked for one night and it turned out to be a great experience!
We truly felt that we had a special 24 hours. The B&B is charming. Susan and Kim are wonderful hosts - friendly and welcoming. Everything was so CLEAN. We felt right at home and very comfortable. We learned some history, were steered to a very good restaurant for dinner, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious.
It is obvious that Susan and Kim enjoy what they do and we felt that they really cared if we were happy and comfortable.
Will we stay there again? - do doubt about it!
Americus Garden Inn is one of my favorite places to stay for a relaxing respite. Kim and Susan are wonderful hosts! Susan even noticed my husband's picky taste and tried to accommodate it the next day at breakfast! Speaking of breakfast, yum! Getting to read the menu every night really made your mouth water for the next morning, would going to bed earlier get breakfast here quicker? What lovely rooms too! Can't wait to get back!
We can't say enough about this place! We're always looking around for a good Bed and Breakfast to get an escape away from home. Conveniently located an hour from our home, this was the spot! My husband and I celebrated his birthday there and upon arrival, Susan was ready to greet us with a Happy Birthday! From beginning to end, all the amenities and comforts of home were available along with the gracious hospitality of our hosts Susan and Kim. All the good stuff that others have written about Americus Garden Inn is true! Thanks for a wonderful New Year's and birthday!

From the moment I walked in the front door until the moment I left, I had a truly wonderful experience. Susan and Kim are terrific, and committed to making your stay just perfect – truly like spending a few days at the home of a good friend. What a jewel the Americus Garden Inn is!
Recently my husband and I stayed for two nights in December, 2008, at the Americus Garden Inn Bed and Breakfast because of the wonderful reviews. The reviews were accurate. We made an excellent choice. Susan and Kim go out of their way to make sure that your stay is relaxing and enjoyable. They treat you as treasured friends and guests. We rate their bed and breakfast as 5-Star! Breakfast is served in a lovely dining room. Susan prepares delicious gourmet breakfasts while keeping individuals' tastes and dietary restrictions in mind. You will not leave disappointed nor hungry! Kim is a fine host, too. Drinks, fruit and snacks are available around the clock in the dining room. They have a large collection of movies and reading material. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious. The beds have beautiful linens. The entire bed and breakfast is kept immaculately clean. The house features high ceilings, wide halls, original wood floors and fireplaces, etc. Landscaping is beautiful. There are so many things about the Americus Garden Inn Bed and Breakfast that you will love. Staying here is a grand experience. Americus, GA, is fortunate to have such a gem. We plan to stay here again.
I stumbled across the Americus Garden Inn B&B looking for a place to stay as close as possible to the Magnolia Manor campus there in town. It was such a wonderful experience, I know I will return. The rooms are described on their website, but the extras are what will bring you back.
I slept each night in jacquard sheets in a very comfortable king size bed, and woke each day to a breakfast that was exquisite.
Kim and Susan did everything possible to make me feel at home.
The historic house has modern anemities that blend into the Southern history and hospitality. Business travelers will find all they need to conduct business while staying here.
Others will find Americus charming and welcoming. Plan your days to see the sights around Americus, but save a morning or two to just enjoy the conversation at breakfast and the gardens surrounding the house.
We couldn't be happier with our choice of the Americus Garden Inn. The room was beautiful, the hosts couldn't have been nicer, the inn was charming and we loved visiting Americus, Ga.
Americus Garden Inn is a glimpse into the Old South. Kim provided us with a history lesson of the home which was built in 1847. The rooms are large with very high ceilings. We stayed in the Burgundy room which has a ceiling fan and we found it to be spacious and clean. Snacks are available at any time of the day or night. A video tape collection is available for lending. There is a piano in the front parlor. Guests come and go but you may opt either to meet others or maintain privacy as you choose. A homemade breakfast was prepared by Susan and was delicious. We sat on informal soft leather couches for our first breakfast and at a more formal table our second. Kim and Susan proved to be gracious hosts and we had an interesting conversation about the Southern way of life, then and now. We would like to give Americus Garden Inn our highest rating. 5 stars.

Owners were wonderful and friendly. When we checked in they provided a history lesson about the area including the B & B. Our accommodations were great. We stayed in the old school house out back of the B & B which was a large suite including a kitchen, bedroom with a large bath and walk-in closet. Provided a diabetic breakfast each morning as my husband has diabetes. It was wonderful. We had a keyless entry to our suite plus the main house. We loved this because we have a difficult time keeping tabs on our keys. Susan even called me direct after I had made the reservations on line to let me know that President Carter would be teaching Sunday School the Sunday we would be in Americus if we would like to attend his church in Plains, GA. We thought this was very nice. We did attend church with President Carter and was a wonderful experience which we would recommend anyone to do so regardless of your faith. We will be returning to this B & B when we vacation again due to the wonderful accommodations and friendly treatment we received from the owners of this B & B. We would recommend this Inn highly.
This was our first bed and breakfast experience for our 14th anniversary. Susan and Kim were great hosts with friendly conversation and delicious food. We felt welcomed from the first phone conversation. The house was beautiful and the room romantic. They even included warm bathrobes and chocolates on our pillows with a banner over our door. Won't see that at most hotels! They were easily accessible, if needed, in additional building on the property, not in the main house. We loved our time spent with them. A great romantic get away!

Americus Garden Inn is the ultimate stay in Georgia! Every day I was greeted by Kim and Susan, the lovely innkeepers, who are first class. This was my second stay at this outstanding Inn and lovely property. I will be back again...need I say more?
This is a lovely historic home built in the 1800's. The owners greeted us warmly and started the stay with a small tour and history lesson about the house. Our one night stay was part of my husband's birthday weekend and the owners had taken the time to hang a "Happy Birthday" banner over our room door.
We reserved the jacuzzi room and enjoyed it very much. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and the innkeepers were some of the friendliest and most welcoming that we have met. Our only regret was that we only booked one night. We plan to visit again.

Great experience. Great value.
We really enjoyed our only one night stay with Kim and Susan. This is a wonderful bed and breakfast and we will definitely return. The room was great and the bed, bedding and sheets were super. Best nights sleep I have had in a while. Quite and comfortable. The breakfast couldn't have been any better. I am diabetic and Susan prepared for me just what the doctor would have ordered. The oven double cheese omlet was over the top and we left with a couple of extra blue berry muffins.
This was our 4th stay at the Americus Garden Inn. It is such a wonderful place to stay. The room are big and every detail is taken care of by Susan and Kim. The new landscaping is beautiful. We had special diet request and Susan went out of her way to make sure that it was taken care of. Breakfast is one of main hightlights of the stay at the Inn. It is always so delicious. Everythings Susan serves is homemade and wonderful. Kim mans the dinning room and keeps the coffee cups filled while having good conversation. The Inn is a great place to stay.
I don't regularly stay at B&B's, but while I was on a business trip to Americus, GA I decided to stay at the Americus Garden Inn. I travel frequently with my job and stay in a lot of hotels, but the Americus Garden Inn was without a doubt the most enjoyable and relaxing place that I have stayed in all year. Susan and Kim were so welcoming and kind and they went out of their way to make sure that I was comfortable. My room was comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious! I could not have asked for a better stay and I would recommend the Americus Garden Inn to anyone staying near Americus, GA!

My wife and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at Kim & Susan's Americus Garden Inn. We could not have picked a better choice. They create the perfect B&B environment, warm, friendly, outstanding food and conversation in a great setting provided my wife and I with the perfect relaxing weekend.
After a long drive, it was so nice to arrive to a warm welcome by Kim in the parking lot. After a personal tour of the ground floor with many wonderful stories about the original family, we were escorted to a magnificent room ("The Scarlett O"Hara") complete with portrait over the mantel. Spacious, tastefully decorated with a large attached bathroom including both a shower and a jacuzzi. Kim took a lot of time to point out eateries in the area and things to see. He also told us about the opportunity to hear former President Jimmy Carter teach an adult Sunday School lesson at the Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains, GA, one of just a few times a year. We decided to attend and had one of the most interesting and enjoyable church experiences. Afterward, people were allowed to have their pictures taken with Mr. and Mrs. Carter so our photo has definitely become the centre of discussion among our friends.
I would be remiss not to mention Susan's outstanding breakfasts. Her menus vary every day and we were treated to huge portions which kept us going well into the afternoon. Always with healthy selections, they started with scrumptious muffins hot from the oven, then fruit followed by interesting pancakes or egg dishes with meat. My husband asked for the recipes which Susan was quite willing to share. The meals were always accompanied by Kim's attentive and friendly service. Our conversations ranged over lots of topics and on our last day we did not want to leave.
One night, we took a stroll through their gardens and enjoyed the many plantings, elegant gazebo and the lovely fishpond with its huge koi.
This is definitely a gem of a B&B. Even if you are not interested in the area, (and there are many neat things to see including the Habitat for Humanity complex), it is worth the drive to relax in this wonderful setting and be pampered by these most hospitable folks.
For Business or Leisure - Southern Hospitality at its Best!
Americus Garden Inn is a wonderful place for business travelers to stay. Kim and Susan go out of their way to accommodate the needs of a business traveler. They made arrangements to see that my husband had an opportunity to have breakfast even though he had to leave for work before the standard time breakfast is served. Kim went beyond the call of duty to make certain my husband had Internet access so that he could work way into the night. No problem was too large or too small for Kim and Susan to address, and they always did so with big smiles.
I myself experienced the Inn as a lady of leisure, and I have never felt more at home while away from home. Susan is a wonderful cook. I so enjoyed waking to mouthwatering treats such as Spinach Frittatas and Strawberry Yogurt pancakes. Every day was a culinary delight, and if Susan knows of any special dietary needs or desires, she will do all she can to meet those needs.
The facility itself is lovely. You need only read the other reviews that highlight the 1847 home’s charms. I so enjoyed rocking on the porch in the mornings or reading a book in the sitting room in the evenings. It is a short drive to Andersonville and Jimmy Carter’s compound, so history lovers will enjoy the area, too.
Americus Garden Inn is not only a wonderful location for honeymooners, those on vacation, those interested in history, and those who find rest and relaxation in small towns, it is also a great place for business travelers. I look forward to my next chance to spend a night or two or more with my new friends, Kim and Susan, in their lovely Americus Garden Inn B & B.

Our recent stay at the Americus Garden Inn was a wonderful experience. Kim and Susan were very gracious hosts, and very helpful in helping us to decide where to dine while in Americus. Breakfast was delicious. We would recommend this B&B to anyone who wants outstanding service.
Susan and Kim are excellent hosts. The "breakfast" in "bed and breakfast" takes on new meaning in Susan's kitchen. Every morning a delicious, healthy and visually beautiful culinary feast. (She gladly accommodated a food allergy or two, as well). The rooms are varied one to the next (over the years I've stayed in 4 different ones) but each is decorated with exquisite taste with no sacrifice in comfort. The setting benefits from Kim's lovely gardening and tons of light. It's worth heading south (or north) with the Americus Garden Inn as your destination. One of a kind, for sure.
Such a soothing and relaxing inn. Loved all the attention to detail. This was my first B&B experience. This will not be my last. Kim and Susan are excellent hosts. Even my 21 year old son who I was visiting loved the inn. This beautiful inn is less than 2 miles from my son's college campus. Will absolutely stay here again. All other B&B's will have to measure up to the Americus Garden Inn. Susan's breakfast is absolutely spectacular. Much, much, more than I expected. I highly recommend this inn.

We had a wonderful stay at the Americus Garden Inn. The home is beautifully historic, wonderfully kept and warmly inviting. It is the second oldest home in the community.
Kim and Susan are excellent hosts and made us feel at home immediately. Kim gave us a great orientation to the home, surrounding area, sights-to-see and eating establishments. He helped us with our bags and got us settled right away.
Susan's breakfast--lovingly served by Kim--is beyond description. The three courses include her scrumptious homemade muffins, then fruit, and finally the main, mouth-watering course. Kim even packed the extra muffins for us as a snack to enjoy later in the day. Each meal was delightfully unique and served in such a way that we felt like it was "just for us."
When I consider the difference in price between the Americus Garden Inn and run-of-the-mill motels, I can't imagine staying anywhere else.
We hope to return to Americus next year and will definitely stay, space permitting, at the Garden Inn.

The Inn has all the details you would want in a historical property. From the grand staircase, high ceilings, and great woodwork details. Our rooms were charming, comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast in the mornings were always hot and satisfying and beautifully presented. We had three different breakfast during our stay and each were truly the best, from the muffins,to egg casserole, to pancakes, Yum! Kim and Susan went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. They definitely take pride in what they do. It was a wonderful experience.
We were celebrating our first wedding anniversary and was greeted at the door every time we came and went, which made us feel like we were at home. The food that Susan made was fabulous. The room was very spacious and the bed comfortable. It was a great weekend to spend time together and would recommend Americus Garden Inn for anyone who needs to get away for the weekend.
If you want to get a good feel for southern living, this is a great place to start. Kim and Susan make you feel like your part of the family. Kim was very helpful in what to see and do in the area and Susan made the most wonderful breakfasts! We would recommend this B&B to anyone. Thanks again for everything!Terry & Sally

Came to Americus Garden Inn for 3lst anniv. Was wonderfully surprised with the greeting, room, food and most of all the friendship we established with our innkeepers Kim and Susan. I would recommend highly for anyone looking for a special weekend to schedule a visit to Americus Garden Inn
Susan and Kim are very gifted at making all their guests feel right at home. They offer great hospitality, a charming Southern setting, local history lessons, and creative and tasty food. I'd highly recommend it!
Our stay at the Americus Garden Inn was an experience that we are glad that we did not miss. A beautifu and immaculate old home with all of the amenities one could possibly desire. The room wa lovely and spacious, the bed comfortable and the bath had all the modern luxuries. The hosts, Susan and Kim Egelseer provide the finishing touches including books, DVDs, games, 24 hours of access to homemade snacks and drinks. A breakfast prefared by Susan from scratch every morning, is a culinary treat and she is also an interesting , caring and knowledgeable guide to the area. The location in Americus, near Plains and Andersonville, GA, provides access to fine dining as well as home cooking and opportunities to explore American history at its roots. We loved it
My only regret about the Americus Garden Inn is that we could not stay longer! My husband and I went for a quick weekend getaway in mid March and had an absolutely wonderful and very relaxing time. Kim and Susan are great and so knowledgeable and willing to please in any way they can. They are very knowedgeable about the house, the history of the area, and getting around especially. Not to mention, breakfast was terrific! The grounds and house were beautiful and they have been very careful to make upgrades and add ons while still keeping the structural and historical integrity of the house in place. I give it an A++++ and am definitely looking forward to going back there again soon.
My daughter and I had a fantastic time at the Americus Garden Inn. Kim and Susan Egelseer are superb. We loved the 3-course breakfast. We felt comfortable and at-home, but also pampered and special! I was delighted to see bluebirds from our private balcony--we can't wait to go back!
This was the best Inn for friendliness, romance, history and an excellent breakfast. It is a beauitful place to escape to in the middle of our busy lives!! Treat yourself to a pleasurable experience!
We were amazed at how this home was modernized to please modern day travelers!

We had a delightful stay at the Americus Garden Inn. Our balcony room offered a balcony large enough for a two person settee and a table with two chairs. Our spacious room with king bed was clean and comfy. Each breakfast menu was varied and DELECTABLE. Kim and Susan have set the bar high.
I was reading guest reviews of various B&B's in order to select one for my wife's birthday. I selected Americus Garden Inn and was very pleased with my selection. The best part was that my wife was even more pleased than I was. Upon arrival, innkeeper Susan greeted us and promptly gave us a tour of the B&B as well as giving a history of the mansion. We later met Kim, Susan's husband , who was very knowledgable of activities of interest in the area. Between the two, we received a great overview of the Americus area. We stayed two nights and our room, "Scarlets Room" was very large and comfortable. Susan's breakfasts each morning were delicious and far exceeded anything my wife and I had experienced at any other B&B at which we have stayed. I had read that Susan's specialty was pancakes, my wife's favorite, and I mentioned that when I made online reservations. Later I was surprised by a call from Susan, who ask if there was any special pancakes she could prepare for us. This extra attention to detail was quite imperssive. We especially enjoyed the hospatality and conversation with other guests each morning over breakfast. Kim and Susan suggested a very nice restaurant for my wife's evening birthday meal. It turned out to a great recommendation. The only recommendation we could offer would be to improve the landscape. Due to a previous tornado, many trees on the property were lost. This has left much of the area open, however, Kim and Susan have a landscaping plan prepared and as weather permits were eager to implement it. Of course February is not the best time of the year for yard beauty. We loved this inn and would certainly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good B&B. If we are in the Americus area, we will definately stay here.

My husband and I travel a great deal and often stay at B&Bs and Inns...we must rate this as one of the finest B&Bs that we have experienced. From the moment that we arrived to a tour of the facility until the time that we left with a zip-lock bag with muffins from breakfast...the stay was wonderful.
We just visited the Americus Garden Inn B & B for the third time, experiencing everything good there is to sleeping away from home. We return again and again because it is quite simply the best run inn, by the best hosts, that we have ever found. The Egelseers are true professionals while maintaining their warmth and seeing that the inn is the most inviting place one could hope to find. We're already looking forward to our next visit.
We have stayed in quite a few inns, bed and breakfasts, and hotels and both of us feel the Americus Garden Inn is by far the best we have ever been in. Kim gave us a wonderful overview of the inn and the town and we enjoyed knowing some of the history of the area. Our room was spotless and welcoming and was very comfortable. And Susan's breakfasts were unbelievable. I don't know how she does it, but I sure would like to be able to make pancakes like she does!
We originally booked our room for just one night but after spending a night there, we decided to add another night so that we could stay and have another wonderful breakfast!
All in all a great experience. We are telling everyone about it and hope to get back and stay there again.

We were traveling to Americus for a family reunion on Thanksgiving day. We decided to stay at the Americus Garden Inn and are so happy that we did. We were greeted by Kim and Susan. Kim spent a lot to time with us even though we arrived the night before Thanksgiving. He showed us around and made us feel very welcome. Susan was very busy preparing for the next mornings wonderful breakfast. But she still took the time to welcome us and make us feel at home.
Everything was wonderful. We had the pleasure of staying for 2 nights. We didn't get to spend a lot of time at the Inn during the day because of the family reunion, but the time that we did spend was wonderful. Both Kim and Susan work very hard to add special little touches to make your stay very welcoming and pleasant. Kim was very knowledgeble on the area and he was happy to share his knowledge and answer questions, including patiently answering our sons questions. I hope that we have another reunion in Americus so that we will have the opportunity to visit the Inn again.
Thank you Kim and Susan for a wonderful time.
We just stayed a Saturday and Sunday night at Americus Garden Inn. The entire stay is worthwhile.
With a greeting at the door, owner Kim Egelseer tours new guests through both floors of the pre-Civil War era home. He is more than cordial, outwardly friendly and is a gracious host. Susan, his wife, was alread busy in the kitchen but peeked out to say hello.
The morning breakfasts are wonderful starting with a round of muffins (including ziploc bags to take the extras home), a special Susan fruit concoction, a substantial egg creation with thee homemade pancakes and syrup.
Snacks, homemade biscotti, drinks and coffee are available in the Dining Room all day long.
There is a wonderful Baby Grand Piano in the parlor suitable for playing. Should you not have the ear to tap out a tune, simply follow along with the vintage sheet music atop the instrument.
Wonderful conversation with owners Kim and Susan, a beautiful 19th century home in a quiet historic district, unique rooms and incredible breakfast make for a worthwhile stay.
Susan and Kim have mastered the art of making people feel at home while staying at their charming B&B which has been tastefully decorated and maintained. The three course breakfasts are delicious. Much thought and care has gone into the preparation and presentation of these breakfast meals. They are always present on the property and willing to help in any manner. Such a charming and caring couple. There information on the history and local area sights is also very helpful.
Susan and Kim are in the business of spoiling all of their guests. They have thought of everything to make your visit with them beyond enjoyable. The breakfasts are to die for! Seriously, we have never had a more delightful (and scrumptious) breakfast. Wonderful coffee was always available to us, as well as other beverages and snacks. Susan even makes her own biscotti!
We ordered the bistro basket, which was waiting for us when we arrived. It was very evident how much love and kindness went into the preparation of the basket. It was so complete, that we did not need to go to dinner the first night. This was our first step to a very relaxing weekend.
We stayed in the Veranda Suite, a downstairs room with a private door to the veranda. The room was beautiful, and the bed was one of the best we have ever slept in away from home. Everything was meticulously clean.
Susan and Kim are very knowledgeable about the area and provide excellent tips for visiting interesting places. Our personal favorites were Andersonville and The Telephone Museum. Susan suggested we watch a video that explained the story of Andersonville. We are so glad that we took her advice. The video was very interesting and well-documented, and helped explain a lot of what we saw the next day. The Telephone Museum has to be the best-kept secret in Georgia. It was definitely worth the trip. It is an unbelievable display of the history and various stages of the telephone.
We cannot say enough good things about our visit. We will definitely be back.

Upon our arrival at Americus Garden Inn, Susan immediately made us feel completely welcome and provided us with a tour of the house and information regarding local sites we might want to visit. Her home was both beautiful and invitational. My husband enjoyed the delicious and healthful snacks that were available throughout the day and evening. For people wanting good but healthy food, Susan's breakfasts are unbeatable. One of the most enjoyable parts of our visit was our conversations with Susan and Kim. We left feeling like we were leaving friends.
I was just looking for a nice place to stay with my wife while we were touring an area which had been important to my wife early in her life, but to which she had never returned since our marriage. What we found in Americus Garden Inn was so much more than just a place to stay while we were doing other things. It is worth making a destination in itself. Kim and Susan are the perfect hosts: warm, friendly, accommodating in every way. The gourmet breakfasts are truly amazing. The home has so much character: historic, well-appointed, and comfortable. It is a wonderful place to retreat and relax, well worth making a destination in itself.

The Americus Garden Inn was such a beautiful, peaceful stay and just what we needed from our busy lives. Innkeepers Kim and Susan were like coming home to two old friends. Waking up to the smell of fresh baked bread and a gourmet breakfast was heaven! We'll definitely visit again soon!

We left her home early on a Friday morning for what should have been a 6 hour trip. After sitting in 3 hours of bumper to bumper traffic in Atlanta (ugh) and then driving through a torrential downpour, we finally made it, 9 hours later, to Americus Garden Inn B&B. We were so kindly greeted by Susan and Kim. Kim even carried our bags up to our room and we can't tell you how much these road-weary gals appreciated that. While Kim was lugging our bags, Susan gave us a tour of the B&B and then got us to our room so we could unwind. Our room was beautiful as is the rest of the old Victorian home. Susan's breakfasts are delicious and we felt right at home (and spoiled) with Kim's attentiveness and interesting conversation. Susan and Kim also are full of information as to where to dine and what to see while in the area and, wow, is there a lot to see and do.
It was so good and comforting to get back to the B&B after our long day of sightseeing. I love that you can get yummy snacks, fruit and coffee/tea any time of the day or night. We had coffee with Bailey's (we brought our own Bailey's) each night before bedtime out on the back porch and it really hit the spot. The beds were so comfy. We also were delighted that there was a journal in our room that had many entries from other visiting guests and we had the best time reading the entries before we penned our own thoughts.
This was my first experience at a B&B. I didn't think I would feel comfortable staying at a "stranger's" home, but Susan and Kim were able to change my way of thinking in short order. It was almost sad to leave them because you really feel like you're leaving family behind. From now on, it's B&B's for me and I can't wait to get back to Americus Garden Inn B&B for what will hopefully be a longer stay. There is so much too see in that area, we barely scraped the surface. And, besides, I like being spoiled for a few days :-)
Thank you so much, Susan and Kim!
We have been staying in Inns and Bed and Breakfasts for 30 years, and the Americus Garden Inn ranks among the best. The sleeping accomodations were well appointed, clean and crisp; the bathroom was impeccably clean; the breakfast was sumptuous and our private evening was relaxing but enjoyable with the opportunity to have hot chocolate and homemade biscotti while playing Trivial Pursuit. Susan and Kim were wonderful hosts.
We enjoyed every aspect of our stay. The room was perfect, the house was beautiful, there were plenty of games, movies, and other things to do while we were there. The breakfast was delicious! We hope to return soon, and we have already recommended Americus Garden Inn to others, and will continue to do so. This was our first experience at a B&B, and it was by far a more relaxing atmosphere than staying in a hotel. It exceeded all of our expectations. The innkeepers were knowledgeable about the area as well as the home. Two thumbs up!
My wife and I had a long weekend from work so we thought we'd do a "history" get away. We chose Americus because of the rich Southern history of the area, and Americus has quite a bit of history preserved right there.
We had never stayed in a B&B so we thought we'd give it a try. I chose Americus Garden Inn after reviewing their website. After speaking to Susan on the phone I made reservations confident I chose the right place. Susan is a joy to talk to. What a great weekend it was. Susan and Kim were fantastic hosts, greeting as we pulling into the drive. Susan gave us a nice tour of the B&B meanwhile sharing the history of the Inn from the time it was built to now. We were shown were everything was in our room and instructed how to get in touch with them if we needed anything. They also went over several restaurants in the area as well as the area attractions which include Andersonville Civil War prison, the 1840's town of Westville, downtown Americus historic buildings as well as Jimmy Carter National park and homeplace amoung others.
Susan is a fabulous cook, no I should say Chef, and spoiled us with a wonderful breakfast every morning, even accomodating me on my diet. Kim visited with us during breakfast helping us to plan our day by answering any questions and making our breakfast plates or coffee cups weren't empty until we had all we wanted to eat. It was nice for Kim to spend some time with us even though 2 weeks earlier they sustained substantial yard damage from the tornado and Kim had lots of work to do to get it all cleaned up. The breakfasts Susan prepared were top knock. Not only did we enjoy our stay in a beautiful house, in the historic district in a very comfortable room with snacks, videos, and books available for no extra charge, we made new friends with Susan and kim. Great hosts, but also just good folks. I can't wait until we can do it again.
