A lovely bed and breaksfast. Kristy was very kind and helpful. She made us feel right at home. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely stay again the next time we're in Atlanta.
We enjoyed every aspect of our 2 nights at the Social Goat. A bonus is that this property ended up being less than a mile from family we were visiting. Everything at the Social Goat was done in a beautiful but comfortable way. Breakfast was delicious, the rooms were very clean with lovely soft bedding, and the grounds were also lovely with the animals and several nice seating areas including a fountain and outdoor fireplace. Kristy was so friendly and welcoming, like coming to stay with a friend...........thanks for everything! We'll absolutely be back.
My husband and I enjoyed The Social Goat so much that we booked a return visit with our kids. We loved everything about our experience and we highly recommend The Social Goat to anyone who is looking for something other than the run-of-the-mill hotel experience. Great food, service, accommodations and area attractions!
My wife and I recently stayed in the Carriage House room with our infant, and were met with nothing but kindness and courtesy by both the proprietor and the other guests. When Kristy found out that it was our anniversary, she even gave us a complimentary bottle of wine, and helped us find restaurants nearby that were suitable for my Gluten-free wife. Breakfast was a good time both mornings, and the food was wonderful. The owner's mother even prepared it one morning and she was a real sweetheart - and good cook! The house itself is full of beautiful old furniture and the Carriage House room, though of recent construction, had much of the same older charm due to the inclusion of rehabilitated old trim and antique furniture. It was a great experience to see the friendly goats; the turkeys were beautiful strutting around (and trying to knock each other off the fence in the morning). In all, we had a great time, and we'll definitely consider The Social Goat again if we ever stay in Atlanta again!
My husband and I stayed at the Social Goat this past weekend in the Third Floor Suite. The room was very spacious and clean. Kristy (the owner) was away for the weekend so her sister and mother were our hosts for the stay. Super nice and loved the southern hospitality. We asked for some dining recommendations near the B&B and Julie recommended Six Feet Under which was only a mile from the house and a great hangout! Breakfast at the house was great and they served fresh eggs from their hens. They had a nice porch that we relaxed on at night. The house is in a rural neighborhood, but only took 15 minutes to get to downtown Atlanta. Would highly recommend staying here and if we are in Atlanta again we definitely know where to stay. Thanks for a great weekend!
After spending time stuck in Final Four traffic on our way into Atlanta from a relaxing visit to Tybee Island, we had doubts about our decision to vacation in this busy metropolitan area. However, the minute we drove up the driveway to this lovely Victorian, we knew we had made the right choice on lodging! It immediatley felt like home and it is truly a calm oasis in the middle of Atlanta. Kristy was very friendly and so helpful with all our questions about the area, and she prepared the most delicious breakfasts! We stayed in the carriage house which is behind and separated from the house, and overlooks the lovely yard and small barn. The bed was very comfortable and the living area of our suite was spacious and tastefully decorated. The little balcony off the kitchennette/dining area overlooked the patio with a large fountain and outdoor fireplace, and was a perfect place to enjoy some late afternoon wine & cheese. The owners have done an amazing job in enlarging/restoring the home and cleverly incorporating some of the original materials in the new construction. It was a real pleasure to stay here!
Not knowing Atlanta well, I wasn't sure what to expect. The SG was the perfect location for us! Minutes to the zoo and Marta station and about 10 from great food & shopping at Little 5 Points and Virginia Highlands. Kristy was extremely helpful with directions and the breakfasts were really tasty. The goats were so sweet, the roosters & chickens were funny and turkeys up close are quite possibly the most unattractive animals on the planet. The room was great and the bed (in the yellow room) was the best night's sleep I've had in a long time...once we closed the door on a very loud snorer down the hall. We plan on coming back to ATL and when we do, we'll be booking a room at our new favorite B&B! Thanks for everything!
Drove into Atlanta for a concert, but Sherman The Goat and his barnyard gang definitely gave the musicians a run for their money when it came to entertainment value! Kristy and Paul were there to greet us for our early arrival request and took us right in to visit with all of the charming creatures who are lucky enough to call this little farm their home. Our group consisted of gals between the ages of 17 and 60 years young and we all were enamored with the picturesque setting and the hands-on experience with the goats, turkeys, chickens, and roosters.
The Carriage House was perfect in every way, with an unobstructed view to the animals. Kristy's delicious artichoke and sausage quiche and fruit crisp with goat cheese made for a delectable breakfast, and when she learned a member of our group was a vegetarian, she offered farm fresh eggs as a substitute. Very accommodating! Our only disappointment was that we had not planned a longer visit. We will definitely return when we can take more time to explore the area and just hang out with all of the farm friends we made on this little adventure. Truly an unexpected pleasure!
Our stay at the Social Goat completely met our expectations! The Carriage House was beautiful, comfortable and clean. The animals were a delight, even the Turkeys! Kristy is an exceptional cook and hostess and made us feel so welcome! She is the kind of person that makes you think you have known her your entire life!! We would go again!!!
We had my daughters wedding at the Social Goat last weekend and I can't say enough good things about it. Kristy the owner went above and beyond to make the wedding perfect and everyone that stayed there feel comfortable. If you are ever needing a place to stay while in Atlanta I highly recommend staying here! Oh, Kristy makes a great breakfast as well.:)
We enjoyed a terrific mid-march stay at the social goat. Kristy was a huge help, showing us the bus stop, MARTA station and giving great tips on things to see and places to eat. It was a nice break from the city to get to enjoy the goats, turkeys and chickens. The fresh eggs each morning were fantastic. Great stay!
The accommodations were perfect for a girls (4 of us) getaway weekend. The location is great, and the house is lovely. We enjoyed sitting outside on the porch, visiting with Kristy and enjoying our wine and snacks. The third floor room had plenty of space for us.
The Social Goat is the best B&B I've ever stayed at. Kristy and Paul are so friendly (as are the animals) and the house is absolutely beautiful. Kristy made an awesome breakfast---I would love to stay again.

This is a beautiful house with gorgeous, period-appropriate furnishings and comfortable, quiet, private rooms. There are cute outdoor seating areas with a fireplace, water feature and a great view of the goats, chickens and turkeys on the small farm in the back yard. The host has excellent, reliable suggestions for off-the-beaten path things to do in Atlanta, and she makes a mean breakfast using eggs from the farm. The location in Grant Park is ideal -- away from the traffic of the downtown, but close enough to any of the attractions in the area. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Atlanta.
We were able to see and do most everything we set out to do. We met a lot of friendly people. The breakfast was really delicious and filling. The environment was relaxing and very inviting.
The house was beautiful and we really, really loved those goats! We also learned a lot about turkeys and urban farming, and enjoyed being within walking distance to the zoo and Grant Park.
We booked a room at the Social Goat for my mom for Christmas night when it wasn't convenient for her to stay at our house due to unforeseen circumstances. It is a lovely bed and breakfast! Beautiful house with adorable critters...loved to see the turkeys, the goats, the kitties, a bunny, etc. My mom felt right at home. Everything is clean and decorated beautifully. Kristy was so friendly and helpful! My mom wants to stay there again!
We enjoyed our weekend in the Carriage House. We relaxed in our suite, enjoyed hearing the animals in the yard and had convenient access to all of our weekend activities. Breakfast was great! We will certainly be back to The Social Goat soon.
I stayed at the Social Goat for a girls' weekend. We stayed upstairs on the 3rd floor, which was wonderful because we could all 3 stay in the same room. It was completely affordable - much more so than the hotels downtown - and we could easily drive anywhere we wanted to go. There are a few great restaurants we went to in the neighborhood. The service was wonderful, the couple who runs the B&B is so nice and the homemade breakfasts were to die for! Total southern comfort. The house is absolutely charming, and the goats are so adorable. I would highly recommend The Social Goat, particularly for couples who are looking for a quieter place to stay and a great retreat, right in the middle of Atlanta. Would definitely stay again!
Our family and some friends stayed at the Social Goat for four nights while in Atlanta for a family wedding. It was the most wonderful and relaxing way to share the holidays and the special event.
Kristy and Paul were kind, helpful (with directions and recommendations) and put out a delicious breakfast each morning.
Beautiful outdoor space too. I want go back in the spring and sit by the outdoor fireplace!
Delightful B&B not too distant from downtown and all attractions. Carriage House room provided more privacy and had more than ample room with a seating/TV area and small kitchenette. Well worth the value. Strongly recommended.
We stayed two nights at the Social Goat and had a great stay. The house is beautiful and Kristy made us feel right at home. Breakfast both days was fantastic! We loved watching the goats play in the backyard-- a real treat for any animal lover. Highly recommend this inn for your next stay in Atlanta!
This is one of the best B&Bs I have ever stayed at. We arrived later than usual, but the proprietors were more than willing to wait up for us. The house was lovely. We stayed in the Yellow room. The bed was comfortable, the sheets were warm, and it had plenty of space for luggage and electronic charging. One of the house cats even stopped by to sleep with us. It was too cold to utilize the sleeping porch, but it looked awesome. Breakfast was wonderful and filling. Afterwards, we enjoyed petting the goats and turkeys. I don't often go to Atlanta, but I would be willing to make a special trip to stay here again.
The rooms were gorgeous and the little farm with the cute animals was an original touch ( a true getaway experience). The breakfast was a little heavy.
This place was perfect for our wedding weekend in Atlanta! We could relax and prepare for festivities with ease. Also, the two breakfast meals we had were delicious.
Outstanding accommodations in the heart of Atlanta.
I was in Atlanta for business and choose The Social Goat for its location to Downtown. We where within walking distance to local dining in the Grant Park area. Our room was outstanding clean and private. Breakfast was prepared by Kristy , Quiche on Friday and French Toast on Saturday. The presentation was personal and I appreciated the home cooked attention to detail. The is the best deal in Atlanta in my opinion.
In Atlanta for a one night adventure and the location was nearly perfect. Paul and Kristy seemed to be doing what must be done to maintain a property with such particular demands. The charm defies description and the professionalism is keen. We spent the "day-after" enjoying the special treats of the old Atlanta city history due primarily to Kristy's suggestions concerning what was nearby. A Great Treat! We will return
The Social Goat is a wonderful retreat in the heart of Atlanta near Grant Park. We stayed in the carriage room above the garage for 2 nights. The room is very spacious and beautifully decorated. Kristy cooks a wonderful breakfast and was so helpful to us when we were planning our days in the area. The little barnyard area with it"s adorable goats, that love taking rides in a wheel barrel and friendly turkeys, was a delightful addition to our stay Thanks Kristy and Paul, for creating a delightful getaway in the heart of a big city.
Immacualte house and grounds, friendly and very accomodating hosts, great breakfast, nice animals. Three real turkeys but the B&B is definately not one of them. A must stay B&B.
Our stay at the Social Goat was wonderful--the rooms were lovely and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. Kristy, the proprietor, was friendly and welcoming. Also, BABY GOATS! Which leads me to my new standard for Bed and Breakfasts--BABY GOATS are way better than no baby goats.
We were looking for someplace out of the city and close to our daughter we were visiting for 5 nights. The Social goat was 2 streets away! Couldn't have been closer! We were pleasantly surprised with how nice this B & B was done inside! From the outside it looks like another average home in the neighborhood! Kristyis a very nice host and a very good cook! Our breakfasts were unique and delish! Not huge but like the website says, " a lil more than Continental.". The animals were so cute and loved to hear Kristy explain all of their personalities! They arent as close to the house as the pictues show it is a large property. We will be back again and would most definitely choose this place to stay! You can't find a decent hotel for the price of The Social Goat. The one and only issue we had was that we were on the 3rd floor which was awesome but the squirrels loved running around up there early morning and definitely woke us up!
My husband and I waited until the last minute to make reservations for an overnight stay in Atlanta--we didn't expect it to be so hard to find lodging! After discovering every hotel in Atlanta was booked that weekend (Auburn game, Tennessee game, Dragoncon, etc) I started looking up B&Bs. Never having stayed in a B&B, I likely would not have even called given the prices--however, we were desperate and I called and found out they had one room available. We decided to stay even though it was higher than what we had wanted to pay for aone night stay ... AND IT WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY. The house is beautiful, clean, tastefully (and restfully) decorated. It exceeded every expectation. Breakfast was delicious and the other couples staying there were also very friendly. The goats were, of course, my favorite part. My husband had been skeptical about the B&B experience and he loved it too! Given the opportunity, we would definately stay at the Social Goat again!
Excellent accomidations and within walking distance to the Zoo. Breakfast was wonderful and elegantly prepared/served. Animals were super cute and very friendly. I would definitely stay again
We were so delighted to have stumbled upon The Social Goat. My husband and I stayed here for a couple of nights during our wedding weekend and it was such a fun and luxurious experience. The house is beautiful and our room held the perfect combination of Victorian antiques and modern amenities. And we loved interacting with all the animals! Kristy was a great hostess and we would highly recommend The Social Goat to anyone who is looking for a nice place to stay in Atlanta that is a bit off the beaten path.
The Social Goat is probably the best example of what a Bed & Breakfast should be- clean, beautiful and exceeding with hospitality. The B&B owners Kristy and Paul were extremely helpful with tips on getting around town and places to visit. It doesn't hurt to have some of the cutest animals in the world among hanging out in the small farm/petting area (after playing with the goats and turkeys you too may not be able to consciously consume turkey again).
Here are some things that I feel have been overlooked by other reviewers of importance to possible new guests-
1. WiFi is available and is quite good (D/L 10Mbps U/L 5Mbps)
2. Toiletries are available (just ask)
3. Kristy's breakfasts are far better than the best breakfast/brunch you'll find in metro Atlanta.
4. The beds are "outta this world" comfortable.
5. The sheer number of oil painting and antiques in the home will keep your head spinning. This place is gorgeous and the pics on this page don't do it justice.
See ya' next year Sherman, Kristy and Paul!
-Chuck & Helena
Sometimes when one travels the world there are places that offer way more than expected. I literally stumbled across this lovely place by accident, when looking for a regular Hotel close to Turner Field. I wanted to spend a week watching the Braves play, and wanted to stay close to the ballpark. My friend and I lucked out when we found the "Goat".
We rented the 2 bedroom cottage for one week. It is just down the street from the main house and had all of the amenities of a regular house. Plenty of room, beautifully decorated and spotless. Everything worked fine, and the beds were comfortable!. The area was very quiet, and access to the games was just a 15 minute walk away. If you prefer to drive it is easy as well. I would be careful with the MARTA system however. The buses were frequently late and crowded. The close proximity to Grant Park was great for running, or a quick visit to a few great restaurants.
But the best part of our visit to the "Goat" were Paul and Kristy, the owners. They were very nice and went out of their way to please. Everything was great, including the varied homemade breakfasts. The waffles, french toast, and quiche were delightful!!! The property with the stars of the show, the animals, is first rate. I fell in love with the goats, especially the babies....the house is beautifully decorated with antiques from all over the world.
I highly recommend staying at the Social Goat. It is truly Atlanta's hidden gem.
We needed a place to stay for a few nights in Atlanta, so we decided to try our luck at the Social Goat. Great decision! The rooms were clean and spacious. Breakfast was amazing. We also got some great recommendations for things to do while we were staying in town. I will be staying here anytime I am visiting the Atlanta area, that's for sure.
Kristy and Paul were awesome host. We were able to ride our bicycles to everywhere we wanted to go without the hassle of driving around Atlanta. Turner Field, Zoo Atlanta, Cyclorama, Grant Park, local resturants and shops fit the bill for us. Even visted Stone Mountain before we left. We had a fantastic time and will be back soon. I would suggest The Social Goat B&B to any savy traveler.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Social Goat B&B. Kristy and Paul have done a beautiful job renovating the 19th century house. I stayed in the Yellow room; the bed was ultra-comfortable. I wish I had been able to take advantage of using the wonderful little balcony porch off of the room. Breakfast was delicious-- Kristy is a great cook! My favorite part of the stay was playing with Olive and Daisy, Talulah and Sherman's twins.
I decided to stay at the Social Goat rather than a hotel because after paying the hotel parking fee, the cost was about the same. And of course, staying at the Social Goat was phenomenally better than staying at a hotel, with it's home-like feel, great food, and wonderful goats (and turkeys, chickens, a rabbit, and a cat). I would most definitely stay here again.
The Social Goat is beautifully restored and tastefully decorated. It is a serene spot in the city. My husband and I loved the privacy and space of the Carriage House. Our three children loved the animals and the fish pond. Breakfast was delicious, Kristy was gracious, and the kids asked to come back again soon! The only downfall is that now my daughter wants a goat...
Conveniently located near central Atlanta but feels out in the country. Kristy and the menagerie did a fine job of making us feel at home and gave us lots of local advice for dinners and entertainment. The room was spacious and comfortable and remained cool even in triple digit degrees outside. I highly recommend The Social Goat!
My sister and I enjoyed staying at The Social Goat. The rooms are comfortable and it feels like you are in your own home. Kristy & Paul are great hosts. The goats, rabbit, turkeys, and other sweet furry friends definitely made us smile and happy.
I have stayed at the Social Goat twice now. Kristy and Paul the owners are wonderful people. Kristy makes a killer breakfast! This is NOT a hotel, so you share a bathroom in the main house but that is a minor thing really. It is quiet and very clean. The place is full of antiques and charm. Great location, right near the Zoo and Grant Park.
Since our party counted 4 persons We were allotted the separate house. Whilst enjoying the privacy we also were able to enjoy the more than welcome breakfast prepared by our host.
Lovely spot in the middle of the city. Kristy was very nice and her other guests were nice as well. She has a low key approach but is very helpful. It was a perfect place to stay and we'll definetely return.
My wife and I were attending a concert nearby and when I searched for nearby places to stay The Social Goat showed up in the search and I'm glad it did! This is a wonderful B&B! Kristy and her mother Myra made us feel right at home. The animals were delightful (there were two baby goats born in June and they are adorable). Monkey the cat was very friendly and always stopped by to visit us when he was nearby. Kriaty makes an excellent breakfast, the pecan waffles were delicious. The house itself was immaculate and filled with old antique furniture. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely do so again when in the area.
We had originally requested the top floor attic room for a 3 night stay because the room that I wanted was already reserved. The attic room was huge. Plenty of room. Twin beds on one side, big beautiful bed on the other, with couch/sitting area in the middle. I loved the use of antiques, even down to the bathroom sink. Well, after we settled in, we were asked if we didn't mind to move into the carriage house over the garage for the following two days. I was happy to do so as it was the room that I wanted in the first place. The carriage house apt was large enough for 2 people, with mini kitchen. It also had a very comfy king size bed. I loved their small farm. Turkeys, chicks, roosters, and 4 fabulous goats. Some cats and a bunny in the mix too. The breakfast was the best I have had at a B&B. Yummy pecan pancakes, French toast, delicious yogurt. I will definitely go back.
My mom and I stayed here in early July. We loved the cottage and decor of the main house. The breakfast was absolutely lovely and exceeded our expectations. We were charmed by the farm animals and were swept away by the serenity of this little oasis. Why would anyone stay in a hotel when you could stay at a charming B and B for the same price or less? Whether you're traveling for business or pleasure, you will find The Social Goat an island in a sea of hustle and bustle. We were thoroughly impressed with Kristy's antique and vintage shop recommendations. She is the epitome of a warm and thoughtful host.
The house was redone beautifully. The goats were adorable and made the trip extra special. It is not really in walking distance of any restaurants or shops, but the neighborhood is nice. It is only about a 10/15 min quick drive to the aquarium/Coke World etc. I would stay here again. It was beautiful, fun and relaxing.
The animals are all so cute and friendly! Breakfast was amazing and Kristy was so helpful during our stay! The location is fabulous, too...walking distance to the Atlanta Zoo and a short 10 minute drive to the Aquarium.
The Social Goat was an amazing quaint bed and breakfast. The yellow room has a nice private patio complete with daybed that overlooked the animals. It was a wonderful place to nap during the thunderstorm! The animals were all approachable and the 2-week old baby goats were so sweet and adorable. Breakfast each morning was wonderful and we loved that the location was close to everything we wanted to visit in Atlanta.
My family and I, plus our dog, stayed at the Cottage which is on the next street over from the main house. The inside was fine, not as cute as I thought from the pictures, but it worked. We were extremely disappointed in the outside of the Cottage, particularly the yard. It is in need of some serious TLC and overall needs to be in better shape as it did not look inviting at all. We specifically chose the Cottage because we brought our dog knowing there was a backyard, however, the backyard wasn't a yard but full of weeds and overgrown trees and bushes. :( Breakfast was great though.
We had such a great time staying at the Social Goat. I surprised my husband for our anniversary with a night's stay in the carriage house and he couldn't have been more pleased. There were two new baby goats to ooo and aah over, and Kristy and Paul were super accommodating and nice. We enjoyed walking to Grant Central for dinner, riding our bikes through Grant Park, and enjoying a bit of respite. The carriage house is perfect for privacy and very comfortable. I have a feeling we'll be back again soon :-)
Very nice atmosphere and beautiful design. My wife and I have stayed at a several B&Bs and by far, The Social Goat had the most character. Seeing the animals (even the newest members of the clan) was a treat that made the stay that much more interesting. The location is great... only minutes from Turner Field and downtown Atlanta made the stay even more enjoyable. Kristy was very personable and eagerly engaged in conversation. My only complaint is that I wish we could have stayed longer to soak more of it in.
Our family of eight (ages 4 - 83) recently stayed in five different rooms for three nights. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beautiful furnishings, delicious breakfasts, comfortable beds. All of our tourist destinations were between 5-15 minutes away. We appreciated Kristy's quiet manner and dedication to her guests. And the animals were the icing on the cake! We hope to come back some day.
The Social Goat was a gorgeous little oasis conveniently located in the heart of East Atlanta. The owners made us feel right at home, introduced us to all the animals, and treated us like family. Kristy made AMAZING breakfasts, and offered lots of good recommendations for food, entertainment, etc. We would highly recommend The Social Goat to friends visiting Atlanta!
Quiet neighborhood with friendly service and close to downtown Atlanta. The room was a bargain and very clean. My wife and I stayed there for our anniversary and the owners made us feel very welcome and we enjoyed our time. My wife loved the baby goats. The only negative comment would be that I am allergic to cats and there was no posted information stating that two cats roamed freely in the house. Since there were wood floors and everything was clean, I only had slight discomfort with runny nose and sneezing. I guess it is a given that animals would be present since its kinda like a little farm. Regardless, I would recommend it to anyone wanting a quaint B&B near Atlanta at a great price.
Not only was this our first trip to Atlanta, it was our first stay in a Bed & Breakfast. I was a little nervous about not staying in a chain hotel. Who would guarantee quality? What about service. All of my worries were unfounded. The room and cottege we stayed in were beautiful and immaculately kept. Kristy and Paul were delightful caretakers. The breakfasts were amazing. And of course, the animals are adorable. I enjoyed three of the most relaxing days of vacation at the Social Goat and have heartily recommended it to all my friends. Should the occasion rise for a return trip to Atlanta, I can't imagine staying anywhere else.
We were in Atlanta for a concert. The Social Goat was the perfect location. It is minutes from Downtown, the house is beautiful, it is comfortable, and the owners make you feel right at home. I will never stay anywhere else in Atlanta.
Stayed in the cottage down a street from the main house. It felt like we were at home. The breakfast on Saturday morning was great! Friday night 2 baby goats were born. This was a great place to stay. Will definitely recommend.
would never had known this little gem was there, it is not until you drive up the drive way to the back of the house. It was a little bit of country in the city. It has been lovingly restored, some of the photos are out dated as they have now purchased more antique furniture. The only critism was breakfast, I think it would be nice to be asked what we wanted or providea menu. Other wise very good value for the money
We were in Atlanta to attend a concert and celebrate a birthday with a son. Kristy and Paul are wonderful hosts and obviously love the B and B. They were always out and about making improvements in the grounds and taking care of the animals--yes there is a social goat! Of course they took good care of their guests, including a tasty breakfast. The location is excellent for being downtown, but not in a big hotel. It is in a middle class neighborhood and convenient to practically anywhere you might want to go.
We reserved the carriage house for one night, and enjoyed it very much. Didn't stay long enough to take advantage of all the room's amenities, but it was handsome and spacious, with a nice view of the barnyard :) Kristy was a great host, and breakfast was especially lovely and delicious. Perfect for our one-night staycation!
Great value for a unique , beautiful and comfortable Inn. Kristy is the ultimate hostess and the breakfasts were exceptional. Our family had such a good time, especially appreciated the tip to visit Madison. Thanks
We only stayed a few nights but loved every minute we were there. The location of this B&B could not be any better. It is tucked away from the hustle of the city but walking distance to Grant Park for a great jog. Also there are plenty of great restaurants within a couple of miles. Our room was nicely decorated and comfortable with enough room for the two of us. There are plenty of places to sit with a book or tea and relax. The owner of the B&B was willing to accommodate any request and made us feel right at home. She encouraged us to use the upstairs balcony which was lovely. The breakfast each day was wonderful and was nicely presented. We enjoyed meeting Sherman the goat and his gal! We highly recommend a visit to The Social Goat and cannot wait to return.
This was such a magical B&B! I have stayed at many B&Bs, but this is the best thus far. Kristy and Paul are really nice and accommodating. The animals really set this place apart from the other places. Tallulah & Sherman are sweet show stoppers. The turkeys even allowed some petting opportunities. I have never been close to a turkey, much less petting one. I know I will return to this beautiful and welcoming place.
Jason & Barbara
The Social Goat was charming and lovely. Very affordable, and the owners were very nice and great cooks! The only thing that bothered me was that I made a very specific request, was told that it would not be an issue, and then essentially had to make my special request again when we arrived.
Pros: Romantic, wonderfully redone Victorian...the upstairs suite is at least as nice as the pictures! The location felt safe and is close enough to highways, etc. yet the house manages to feel secluded once you make it up the driveway. The animals and grounds are charming and the owners sweet about showing you around. They seemed willing to be as social as guests desired, and were never intrusive or overly familiar. Also, Kristy was very willing to work with dietary restrictions; she has gluten free down pat and breakfast was delightful.
Cons: along with the dietary restrictions, do make sure you are explicit. We requested no pork and were given chicken sausages...in pork casings. We only realized it after confirming my husband's reaction and looking up the ingredients. That was our fault for not being diligent and checking the packaging before consuming (which Kristy would have gladly let us do). As I said, Gluten free was no problem and the food was very, very good. Every thing else was great :)
We stayed with our toddler and had the most amazing experience. We stayed in The Carriage House which is a separate building to the main house and it worked so well for us. Close to the zoo. Easy to catch public transport. Beautiful home and area.
I stayed here with my 5 year-old daughter and we only wish we could've stayed longer. Kristy was great and very accomodating to our schedule and vegetarian diet. The house is beautiful and the outdoor spaces are a complete surprise. Totally gorgeous. I will definitely stay here when I am back in town next year.
You MUST stay here!! Amazingly charming and peaceful.
My wife found this jewel in Atlanta while we were in town. Walking distance to the Zoo. The property has a whole host of farm animals that are all very social, not just the goats. I got to hold and pet Velvet Elvis the rooster. I wanted to take him home. The home is absolutely perfect. I couldn't imagine anything better. We will be back for sure.
I was so looking forward to this stay, mainly because of the quirky factor. A little farm in the middle of Atlanta? Really? Well, it is, and it was GREAT. Kristy and Paul were fun, knew the area very well, and wonderful hosts. I instantly fell in love with the animals, the area, and my room. I will definitely stay there again WHEN I return, not IF I return. Very warm and inviting home (I met Kristy's mom, dad, and neighbors). If I could have, I would have sat on the porch with a good book or played with the critters all day. Love this place!
My wife and I spent a weekend here recently while in Atlanta. It's a great, very relaxing place---a bit of the country in the heart of the city. Finding it you're gonna worry you're in a dicey part of Atlanta, but once you pull onto the street and see the place those worries vanish. It's very secluded on its own lot, and yet the Boulevard to I-20 is only yards away. The rooms are very comfortable and the atmosphere wonderfully homey. The most unique thing, naturally, are the animals. I loved getting up early and drinking my coffee with turkeys wandering all around me. I really recommend the Social Goat. The price is affordable, the comforts luxurious, and the hostess very helpful. We had a great stay and will go back again.
We had a wonderful stay at the Social Goat. The farm animals are precious. We walked to Zoo Atlanta and stopped by one of the houses used in filming The Walking Dead on the way.
It was just a short drive to the East Atlanta Village Market and Atlantic Station. It truly is a retreat inside the city. Looking forward to returning soon.
My wife and I recently stayed at the Social Goat B&B for two nights. We really enjoyed our stay and had a relaxing time. The inn is close to many restaurants and cafes, and a short drive to many of Atlanta's attractions. Kristy made sure our stay was enjoyable. We fell in love with the goats. We look forward to coming back.
We loved our stay!! Hate to promote it too much or it might be booked next time we want to visit! We stayed in the little house close to the main house....perfect for us and our three children! The location was ideal. Our breakfast was excellent. The goats were friendly:-)! Our accommodations were exactly what we needed! Hope to visit again soon and highly recommend to anyone wanting a getaway, or wanting a convenient place to stay while visiting the sites of Atlanta! Kristy is a wonderful hostess and was flexible with our schedule. Couldn't have asked for anything more! Now.....just don't plan your visit when we want to be there:-)!
We enjoyed our stay and it was SO close to the Zoo where we wanted to see the Giant Pandas. Kristy was very helpful in helping us find places to eat. It's a good area if you want to avoid the commercial stays. Kristy is a good hostess. I would recommend this place.
Beautiful home, stunning Master Suite with all the amenities two road-weary women could want, including a bathroom to die for. A gracious, informative hostess, very accommodating of our unanticipated change of schedule. Great location, with proximity to the zoo, Little Five Points shopping, and Underground Atlanta. Best of all, the friendliest wheelbarrow-riding goats, strutting turkeys, dancing roosters and gingham-clad hens ever. Wish we could have stayed a week ! Will definitely return. Lovely inn, lovely rooms, friendly innkeepers, great breakfasts,.... and children are welcomed. The kids really loved all of the animals. We'll definitely stay here again.
I never expected such a warm and welcoming environment as we experienced. Our little girl (and the big ones too) enjoyed interacting with the animals. It was an educational experiene as well as a wonderful place to come home to each night. Christy made us feel so welcome and did an outstanding job of accommidating our needs. She's a great cook too. We had six in our party and every one of us would stay again. .
My partner and I had a wonderful time at the Social Goat. Sherman and Tallulah (the goats) were fun to meet, as were the turkeys, chickens, and cats. Our host and hostess were very friendly and helpful, doing everything they could to make our short stay in Atlanta interesting and convenient. We highly recommend the Social Goat for a unique bed and breakfast experience.
I had a wonderful experience at The Social Goat. The rooms are so nice and clean, I stayed in the Yellow Room. The bathroom is nice and large. Host Kristy is incredibly friendly and helpful. I enjoyed waking up to the sound of turkeys frolicing and going out on my porch to see the goats playing. Definitely going to stay here again!
Kristy and her husband Paul will make you feel like a long lost relative in town for a visit. Beautifully restored home will have you wanting to stay longer and Kristy's tasty breakfast will more than satisfy!! Her french toast could become and Atlanta legend!!
Staying at the Social Goat gives you a small taste of what life in Olds Atlanta must have been like. I am so impressed and was so comfortable I will be staying there again.
This B&B is impeccably put together from the beautiful, warm decor to the delicious breakfast spread. It is situated in a quiet residential area literally minutes to downtown. The mini-farm is a big, big draw. Love all the farm animals and the social goats themselves--Sherman and Talullah. If you want to step away from "the city" without the commute, this is the place.
Kristy and Paul were very accommodating and went out of their way to help us get to our football game the night of our stay; they dropped us off at the Georgia Dome! The bed and breakfast is so unique to be in the middle of downtown Atlanta, we enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!

We stayed at the Social Goat in April of last year for my birthday. We loved meeting Sherman, Tellulah and the other animals. The accomadations were wonderful - an absolutely beautiful home tucked in the suburbs of the big city. Breakfast was delicious - fresh eggs from the hen house!
We even received a christmas card this year from Sherman and Tellulah! A great experience, can't wait to go back!!
Kristy and Paul were extremely kind host with extensive knowledge of the area. They have an amazing home/bed & breakfast. I would of stayed longer had I had time in my schedule. It is probably the nicest bed and breakfast I have stayed in before.
Had a great summer weekend here, and hope to return soon!
We stayed for a weekend in July for my fiance's birthday. He loved it, made great friends with the animals, enjoyed big, delicious breakfasts and the serene surroundings. I, too, was thrilled to meet Sherman and Tallulah, the resident goats, and their companions. The home is decorated beautifully, Kristy was so warm and knowledgeable of area activities. We'll be back soon, I hope! Oh, and the rooms are also very nice, with comfy beds and interesting nick-knacks. :-)
We had a delightful stay and have already recommended this B&B to others and booked our next stay. Setting is very attractive, loved all the animals, interior is gorgeous with lots of warm, inviting wood. The breakfast was excellent and service warm, accommodating and friendly.
My family (three of us--my husband, 4 year old son, and I) stayed at The Social Goat B&B on recommendation from a local friend, as we came from out of town to take my son to the Georgia Aquarium back in August. We're so happy we found this place! It was much nicer than any of the downtown hotels, and it was right in Grant Park, which is a funky neighborhood with lots of stuff to do (farmer's market, playground, zoo, awesome cafes, great food). We stayed in the third floor suite, and it was enormous and beautiful. We had brought a toddler aerobed for our son, only to find when we got there that Kristy & Paul had made up a separate bed for him, which was terrific. Kristy was great about showing my son the goats and turkeys on the property, which he loved. The house is pristine, spotless, and beautifully restored and decorated, and the hospitality (and breakfast) were wonderful. Kristy & Paul were welcoming, let us store stuff for our son in the fridge downstairs, invited us to join them for lunch, and gave us local tips and pointers. The B&B is also literally right next to the great zoo, and a super-short drive (less than 5 minutes) from tons of really kid-friendly restaurants in Grant Park. Highly recommended for families with kids--we definitely want to find an excuse to return!
Our family was very grateful for the hospitality of Kristy and Paul.
Breakfast was generous and delicious. Their home is beautifully restored and maintained. The Grant Park location was perfect for visiting the zoo and the off street parking was a real plus. It was evident that Kristy and Paul expend a great deal of energy keeping this B&B in top condition. They are a dynamic duo.

It was important to our daughter who lives in Atlanta that our entire family be able to stay together the weekend of her wedding. I found the Social Goat online, and it ended up being perfect for our needs. We stayed there twice during the weeks leading up to the wedding and then booked all the rooms for the weekend of the wedding. All of our family would tell you that we loved it, from the little grandkids all the way up to the great grandma. It helped make the wedding weekend very special. Kristy is very flexible and hospitable. Friends were able to stop by and visit with us. Breakfasts were great. Incredible to find such a special little oasis tucked away near downtown Atlanta.

My first exposure to 'Southern Hospitality', was a delightful experience! The house and grounds are beautiful, peaceful, and calming. The house is filled with wonderful examples of victorian furniture. Thrown in for good measure, a mini zoo consisting of goats, turkeys, and chickens. The chickens provided the eggs for a lovely country breakfast every day. Christy and Paul are gracious, friendly, hosts and I look forward to my next visit. Pat G. New York, N.Y.

Kristy is a very welcoming host and her breakfasts are amazing! We stayed in the Yellow Room and and enjoyed an afternoon nap on the daybed out on the balcony. The interior of the house is beautifully decorated and well-kept. It's also just minutes from downtown and several good restaurants and bars.. Fair warning, if the rooster doesn't wake you up early in the morning, the pots and pans in the kitchen probably will. I highly recommend this B&B.

If looking for a relaxing break in luxury surroundings, with the added bonuses of cute goats, turkeys and chickens aswell as the friendliest, most helpful Owners, then the Social Goat is the only choice you can make. The B+B is a beautiful, spacious Victorian with large, elegantly decorated rooms. The breakfasts are as sumptuous as you could hope for. The presence of a "farm" environment gives The Social Goat a unique and appealing mixture of a rural/ urban feel. But it is in the sheer friendliness, helpfulness and willingness to "go the extra mile" that makes this B and B such an outstanding one. Kristy and Paul made our stay such a pleasure through their cheerful assistance throughout our stay, with advice on things such as restaurants, sightseeing and the all- important directions. Through Kristy's help, we almost became masters of Atlanta's Marta system!! They made us feel completely at ease, almost as if we were staying with friends.
In short, we can not praise The Social Goat or it's owners Kristy and Paul highly enough. If you are planning to stay some time in the fantastic City of Atlanta, make sure you choose this one.

This was our first stay at a B&B of any sort, and it was amazing. The house and rooms were immaculate, and the "farm" atmosphere just added that little something extra. Kristy and Paul were excellent hosts. Even though we live in the metro Atlanta area, we WILL be staying here again.
Other reviews have mentioned that the neighborhood is dicey, but it is nothing of the sort, being rather typical of an older in-town area.
My wife and I stayed in The Carriage House room. This was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast. The pictures on this site are exactly what we got. It felt like we were staying at a friend's/family's house. Kristy was very warming and welcoming. We didn't get a chance to meet Paul. Breakfast was awesome (eggs, waffles, coffee, fresh pineapple, strawberries). Located a short drive from ... basically everything Atlanta has to offer. Everything was pleasent, the only negative was my wife felt a little closter phobic in the bedroom. I think the location and design of the room being above the garage and in the A-frame portion of the roof had to do with the confined-ness of the room. The room didn't make me feel confined and her feelings definately had no impact on our stay. Comfortable bed with lots of pillows and blankets. We recommend this B&B to all our friends and family.

We were in town for the Music Midtown festival and made last minute reservations at the Social Goat B&B. It worked out beautifully; the management assured us a late check in would be no problem and the location is at a quiet area. We stayed in the studio above the garage and had plenty of room and a balcony to sit on to look over the koi pond. There's a little farm area with chickens, turkeys, and the two miniature goats that the B&B are named after and it was very cute. Breakfast was homemade waffles, bacon and fruit, very delicious. We plan on coming back in November.
The goats, turkeys, chickens & cats are great. Super location just a few blocks from the ATL Zoo & Grant Park. Very close to downtown, Olympic Park, the GA Aquarium, etc.
Breakfast included fresh eggs from the chickens.
Kristy & Paul are wonderful hosts.
We stayed in the seperate carriage house room and it was very comfortable and quiet.
Definately will go there again.

Loved the location on the edge of Grant Park and the zoo. The goats are cute as can be and the turkeys strut about with such imperious dignity you have to respect them. The innkeeper (Kristy) was very accommodating and friendly and went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of. We will definitely return to this location on our next trip to Atlanta and hope for a more extended stay!
Absolutely amazing bed & breadfast. We loved every aspect of this place. Our room was super clean and comfortable, the breakfast delicious, the animals just precious, and kristy was wonderful. The location is perfect. It is close to so many wonderful things but you feel like youre away from it all. The house and furnishings are unbelievable. We highly recommend this place!
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. Sherman and Tallulah are a hoot as are all of the animals. It's hard to believe it, but this place feels like a farm even though it is in the middle of downtown Atlanta. Kristy is very knowledgeable about the area. She told us about some great places to visit and one of the best restaurants we've eaten at! We are definitely going to stay here again.
Exactly what I needed for my parents for the night. They loved every minute of it! The breakfast was excellent, and Paul and Kristy are lovely! Totally quiet retreat in the middle of town!
Kristy and Paul were friendly and accommodating. My husband, my two kids and I stayed in the roomy 3rd floor suite. It was clean and the breakfasts were delicious and fresh. We would definitely stay there again when we return to Atlanta.
The Social Goat Bed & Breakfast is a must stay location for anyone looking to get a real feel for Atlanta. Located in the Grant Park Neighborhood, one gets a feeling for everyday life in Atlanta at an Inn that is anything but ordinary. It's close to the Zoo, Turner Stadium and Downtown ATL. My family had a great time and will definitely check to see if they are available for our next extended stay in Atlanta.
Recently, I joined other family members who were staying at the Social Goat in Atlanta. This is just an amazing place located near Grant Park and the Atlanta Zoo. The pictures on this website are accurate but can't begin to do justice to the quality and quanity of the beautiful Victorian furniture and the multitude of paintings. The gardens surrounding the main house are lush with a interesting variety of plants and the "backyard farm" is fun and unique. I loved watching & learning about the care of Tallulah, Sherman(goats) and Old Spice, Smokey & Sugar( turkeys). The B&B was clean, comfortable & spacious. Kristy is a delightful and hospitable host who really wants guests to enjoy staying in her home. You will love The Social Goat!
My fiance, step-daughter and I stayed at the Social Goat B & B and had a wonderful time. Kristy and Paul's hospitality was truly gracious. The carriage house was comfortable and the grounds lovely. Breakfast was deliciously gourmet and unique, sweet potato waffles, blueberry pancakes and stuffed french toast. Sherman, Tallulah and the other barnyard animals were delightful. We felt like long-time neighbors when we left. The Social Goat B & B was a beautiful venue for our wedding and a wonderful place to start our memories together as husband and wife and a family.
My family just spent a perfect weekend at The Social Goat. We were in town to watch our nephew play for the Rangers against the Braves. Since there were other family members in town we hosted a small family reunion for twenty after the saturday game. It could not have gone better. Everyone loved the place. The kitchen was perfect for serving buffet style, and there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out in the dinning room, sitting rooms and porches. The children loved the farm animals and the fish pond.
Kristy was prepared for every possible need. She fed us two incredible breakfast with enough variety for everyone to enjoy. She even had bubbles for our 18 month old grandson. You won't be disappointed.
Staying at The Social Goat was a great decision. We absolutely loved the buildings, architecture and decor but the best part is all the B&B inhabitants (human and non-human!). Kristy and Paul were so nice and welcoming and all the animals were hilarious and cute. We would most definitely stay here again in a heartbeat.
We enjoyed ourselves so much while staying at the Social Goat Bed and Breakfast. The Innkeeper was so helpful, friendly and took care of everything. The Inn is nicely furnished and decorated and very clean! The breakfast was delicious and the location perfect for exploring Atlanta. We felt very safe. The goats are sweet! We highly recommend the Social Goat B&B!

I could not have asked for a better place to stay in downtown Atlanta. Kristy was such a magnificent host, and we enjoyed her so much. She is so easy to talk to, very helpful, and just overall pleasant to be around. We would definitely stay there again and recommend this Bed & Breakfast to our friends!
I have to say I was very impressed and so delighted at my stay at the Social Goat. I enjoyed every second of my stay there. My children had a wonderful time with the goats, chickens, roosters, turkeys, the cats, and even the fish. The rooming was very relaxing and an escape from our busy daily living. It originally was a gift to my love and our children but I have to state that it was a huge gift to myself as well. Much love and thanks to Kristy and Paul. It was definitely a pleasure and an honor to be in your presence. You gave us so much love and comfort, for that I am so grateful!
If you're looking for a fun, unique place to stay, this is it! The small barnyard and 2 adorable miniature goats (Sherman and Tullulah) give unbelievable charm to this Atlanta Bed and Breakfast. We were able to spend quite a bit of time in the large pen area with the animals, and learned a lot about them from owners Kristie and Paul. You have to watch Paul play with Sherman...he can get the goat to hop around on his back legs, hilarious! The goats really do like to socialize and I ended up with one of them in my lap at one point.
When we returned from dinner that night one of the sweet cats came running over to us for attention. So we sat on the comfy wicker furniture on the back porch and petted him for a long time before retiring to the Carriage House.
The Carriage House was so lovely! Very spacious and oh so private since it's removed from the main house. The living room has a cool peaked ceiling and stained glass windows. Nice bathroom and bedroom, cozy soft bed. Overall very roomy and private which is what we wanted and didn't mind paying for.
Kristie noticed a comment I made about liking to sleep in, so she offered to bring our breakfast to the Carriage House at 9 am so we could enjoy it at our leisure. Wow that was so thoughtful! There's a microwave and stove so you can heat anything up if needed, and you can brew your own coffee in the kitchen when you're ready.
I am a very light sleeper, so I always travel with a small fan for white noise. If I didn't have my fan, I may have heard the air conditioning cycling on and off since the mechanicals were on the other side of one bedroom wall. But it wasn't an issue. We were also glad we brought the fan because it helped move the air- there's no ceiling fan in the bedroom and the a/c wasn't super-strong in that room.
Spending time with the animals was really the highlight of this place for us. It was something different and we enjoyed it immensely!
This B&B is absolutely gorgeous and peaceful even though it is in the middle of a busy city. It is very centrally located and in a nice neighborhood. Kristy is incredibly nice and a great cook! I highly recommend this B&B!

I would recommend this B&B to anyone who wants a beautiful place to stay with the most glorious of animals, the goat. We had our 14 month old son with us and he loved the Tellulah and Sherman (the two dwarf goats)! The owners are great, they even gave us a CD of a local band from Asheville where we were headed. I would recommend it to any of our friends.
My husband surprised me with a stay at a Bed and Breakfast...neither of us has ever stayed in one before. He said that he chose a Bed and Breakfast because it was actually a little bit cheaper, if not equal to staying in a hotel, and he had remembered me saying I'd like to go to one. When we we're driving through, it wasn't exactly the greatest part of town, so we were both a little bit skeptical, but hey, it's Atlanta right? But when we pulled up to the house, we both thought it was beautiful. We were greeted by the nice lady that owns the Bed and Breakfast and she showed us to our room. She also showed us the goats! They're so awesome! We loved petting them! Sherman was my favorite... (he's the one in the picture). We were pretty impressed with our room. We stayed in the one on the 3rd floor. The house itself was absolutely gorgeous. The next morning, we had breakfast with two other couples and enjoyed some great food and conversation. Kristy even talked with us about the house a little bit and the things she's done to it to make it was it is today. We really enjoyed looking around the home and thought it was very cool. We enjoyed the different of not being in a crowded hotel with lots and lots of guests and enjoyed the relaxation of it.
Incredible place all the way around. 1 block away from Grant Park and the Zoo, 5 minutes to almost every other destination in Atlanta and you'd never know you were in downtown Atlanta. The Social Goat is very close to all kinds of eateries and shops. We stayed in the carriage house overlooking the barnyard. Watching the goats play around and getting wheelbarrow rides makes staying in this great neighborhood even better. Why would you stay in one of the impersonal hotels downtown when you can meet Paul and Kristy and experience the great history and ambiance of the Social Goat?
We recently had a wonderful overnight stay at The Social Goat, which does indeed have two very social goats on the premises. I had looked for a B and B near my daughter's home in Atlanta so that my husband and I could take our two young grandsons off for an 18-hour "vacation" that would make them happy. And The Social Goat did. We stayed in the lovely one-bedroom apartment over the garage and enjoyed an excellent, boy-appropriate breakfast, but we also got to pet and feed animals, be woken by a rooster, and feed fish in the fish pond. Christy was a very thoughtful hostess, and I just wish that I could recommend her beautifully restored farmhouse to more people.
Cristy was great. The rooms were clean and well-appointed. My kids loved playing with the goats and feeding the turkeys. Breakfast was yummy with truly fresh eggs, bacon, french toast, homemade biscuits - way more than we could eat. Definitely a place we'll return to.

This worked out so well for the 4 of us. The entire property is beautiful, clean and well maintained. The kids had a blast interacting with all of the animals. This bed and breakfast has a lot to offer. The rooms are clean, beautifully decorated with antiques and fairly priced; the location is great--within walking distance of restaurants and attractions; and the farm animals add a unique experience! Our hosts were gracious. Breakfast was delicious. We look forward to returning to Atlanta and The Social Goat.
A beautiful house, and very nice hostess, but breakfast was not what I normally expect from a B&B. It was good but I could have cooked scrambled eggs and bacon at home.
The Social Goat is a treasure in Atlanta! The home is beautiful and the owners were friendly and gracious. What a treat to walk outside and visit with the four-legged social goats--as well as assorted chickens and turkeys. The neighborhood is incredibly quiet and walkable. We enjoyed strolling to a local restaurant for dinner, and we went to the Atlanta Zoo, which is nearby. Next time I am in Atlanta, I will stay there again.
Our stay at The Social Goat was absolutely perfect. It's a great place if you don't have the time to get far away, but want to treat yourself. We felt as if we were miles away from home (we live in Atlanta). Kristy was respectful of personal space and let you do your own thing.
We will definitely go back!
I stayed at the social goat b&b and couldn't believe how close it was to all the downtown attractions. You could walk to the park and the zoo, as well as restaurants. I want to come back when the braves baseball season starts again.
