Shellmont Inn

My wife and I have made the Shellmont our destination Inn of choice for our frequent trips to Atlanta. Every stay over the last two years has been wonderful and we often recommend the Inn to our frieds. Being located in midtown, it provides a very short walk to events at both Georgia Tech and Piedmont Park.

We have stayed at various B&B's over the years but this was our first time at the Shellmont Inn. Overall we enjoyed our 3 night stay. It's location is just a short walk to the MARTA train as well as many of the tourist attractions.

Innkeepers Debbie & Ed helped to make our stay in Atlanta fantastic. The Inn is beautifully restored and our room was comfortable & modern in the context of the historically important house. Breakfasts were lovely & delicious. Debbie & Ed were very helpful in assisting us with making the most of our visit.

Everything about the Shellmont was superior. Great breakfasts, bath facilities, turndown service, everything you should expect from an Inn. The innkeepers were alway available, kind and very hospitable. We have stayed in manyB&Bs and Inns, the Shellmont was by far our favorite. We came as strangers and left as friends. The 900+ miles that we are from Atlanta will not stop us from returning.

As a single traveler, sometimes the biggest worry of going to a B&B is that your requests and general well-being be overlooked by the innkeepers in favor of the couples and families coming through. That definitely wasn't the case at the Shellmont Inn. The McCords were wonderful owners, and made my entire experience 100x better. I chose the Shellmont Inn over the local big-name hotels for my trip to Dragon-Con, and I couldn't be happier with the decision. I was greeted warmly every time I came through the doors or downstairs, Debbie sat and chatted every morning at breakfast and Ed always had a cheery greeting every time he stopped by. One evening when I decided to stay in (and off my aching feet) instead of going out for dinner, Debbie brought up a very nice fruit and cheese spread, a wonderful surprise. I felt like an appreciated guest and friend in their home, not just another customer. The house itself is beautiful and well-maintained. My room (the Downing) was cozy yet had plenty of room and character, just what I was looking for. The location was perfect for attending the convention - a short drive got me downtown, or the train station was only a few blocks away. The street was lovely, tree-lined and very quiet, yet walking only a few blocks got me to several wonderful restaurants suggested to me by the innkeepers. All in all, it was an experience to remember and certainly one to repeat next year. I definitely recommend the Shellmont Inn to anyone coming to downtown Atlanta for business or pleasure.

We visit America at least once a year. On several occasions we have flown into Atlanta to begin our vacation. We discovered the Shellmont several years ago and would not stay anywhere else. From the time you arrive until you are ready to leave you are made to feel sooo welcome. Debbie and Ed are great hosts and Debbie's breakfasts are memorable - we can hardly wait to get up in the morning! The Shellmont is in a great location - lots of delightful restaurants for us to walk to in the evening. Debbie is always there to suggest a new dining experience. When you walk through the front door you are walking back in time - the inn has been decorated with great attention to detail. We always try to stay in the Tiffany Suite. A period bedroom with a state of the art bathroom - fabulous. It also boasts a private porch - perfect for spending a little quiet time. We just love the Shellmont and plan to stay with Debbie & Ed whenever we are passing through Atlanta. We truly feel like part of the extended McCord family - thanks.

The Shellmont Inn was beautiful, it was a pleasure to stay in a such a lovingly restored historic building. The room was perfect and Ed was truly a sweetheart, very attentive and helped us with anything we asked. I would definitely recommend the Shellmont Inn to anyone visiting Atlanta.

This is a beautiful property. Very clean. Wonderful hosts and a great breakfast. If you are tired of the lackluster service at the big chain hotels, you should stay here!

I couldn't have asked for better accommodations than the Shellmont during my weekend getaway with friends. This was my first time staying in a B&B so I wasn't sure what to expect, but my friend (who has visted many B&B's across the country), assured me that I would not be disappointed. The Shellmont definitely did not disappoint! From the minute I walked through the door I was in awe of the beauty of this historical landmark. The innkeepers, Debbie and Ed, were very welcoming and made sure that my friends and I were comfortable throughout our stay. The rooms in the main house (we occupied 2) were absolutely spotless and the bathrooms were newly renovated and absolutely GORGEOUS! The location was perfect, with easy access to all of Atlanta's major attractions. For dinner suggestions Debbie was very helpful as well as providing a nice collection of menus to scan through to aide in our decision making. I highly suggest giving the Shellmont a visit while in Atlanta. I can't wait until my next visit! Sarah Perry

We completely enjoyed our stay at the Shellmont Inn on our mini Valentine's Day vacation. The service was great and Ms. Debbie was very helpful in all her wonderful recommendations. We were even allowed to park our car in the garage, away from the busy streets. Plus it never felt like we were in Atl. it was peaceful and pleasant. We've been to at least five b and b's and this was one of our favorites!!
