I stay here routinely as our corporate office is located nearby and the location is very convenient for me. The rooms are beautifully appointed and are a great value compared to other hotels in the area. They are always clean and the coffee is the best! The owners are very friendly and accommodating when I need to extend my stay on short notice. Highly recommended!!!
Amazing! Everything was perfect. It’s obvious that The Old Irish B&B is a labor of love for Jim and Rita. It shows in everything they do. My husband and I cannot wait to go back. It was quite possibly the most relaxing getaway we’ve had. Our every need was met, if not exceeded, and we didn’t want for anything. We stayed in the Nancee Gee Cottage; highly recommend. The Alpaca experience was awesome- an experience in the truest sense of the word. If you love animals, nature, and tranquility, then this B&B is a must.
Hubby and I stayed here Friday and Saturday night as we were attending a wedding in downtown Fort Worth. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the two delightful ladies AND the most amazing chocolate chip cookies. We also met the puppy, Chloe and the neighborhood kitty, who I dubbed Orange Kitty because I forgot his name. The house is beautifully decorated and guests have full run of the downstairs rooms, including the one with recliners and the amazing old typewriter office room! Three guest rooms are located up the creaky stairs, along with a fridge with sodas and waters, a K-cup coffee machine and snacks, including popcorn. They thoughtfully included a microwave in this area, so it's an amazing perk. We had breakfast both days and my fave was the eggs Benedict. Hubby doesn't eat meat, so they dressed his with spinach and tomatoes. We ate every last bite and left two happy pandas! On Saturday evening, hubby and I visited the pool and just quietly paddled around, enjoying the unseasonably pleasant Texas weather. Another wonderful touch is the basket of pool towels and sunscreen! Such a relaxing place, so very close to the happenings of downtown and Sundance Square. It was about $8 for the two of us to take Uber from the YWCA to our quiet hideaway, which makes this an even greater bargain!
My husband and I found this place and were intrigued by the alpacas, being animal lovers. Our room was beautiful and very comfy plus it had a private hot tub! Jim our innkeeper kept us laughing with Irish jokes and took care of all our needs! We will go back for sure!
We booked Alla's for a weekend getaway recently and could not be more pleased with the experience. The lodging is quaint and comfy despite the antiquities!! (which are FABULOUS)… not only do you see them, you experience them as Alla and her husband Rick have lovingly restored the home with functional finds from around the world and throughout the ages…We had a fun time learning some of the stories from our animated hostess and enjoyed interaction with the other guests like a small house party. You will be properly spoiled, be sure to add the organic breakfast filled with delicate crepes, exquisite coffee and homemade jams! Delicious or ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿ as they say in the Ukraine!
This is a fantastic place to stay! I highly recommend it. The property and cottages are very nice and interacting with the animals was a fun and unique experience. The inn keeper Patrick is very welcoming, he has a great sense of humor and is very informative on all things alpaca. Lastly, the breakfast was delicious!
Enjoyed my second stay at the Rosen House Inn. It's a grand old house and convenient to I-30. It's in a neighborhood but quiet and safe. The breakfast was delicious both days that I was there. I plan to stay again when I come to TX.
My husband and I stayed for our anniversary for two nights. Usually we stay at 5 stars hotels but wanted to change things up a bit. We love the significance of the historical presence in the house. The antiques brought back childhood memories and the breakfast was to die for. There's no breakfast like Alla's and we've eaten at the best restaurants in the DFW area for years. Alla certainly made our stay memorable. We will be back for the decedent sit down breakfast we ate at Alla's Bed and Breakfast.
Very romantic and exceptionally clean B&B, with extremely pleasant hosts who were very knowledgeable about the local area for restaurants and places to see. Recommended a quaint little Italian restaurant for dinner that was absolutely excellent that I never would have found much less gone into if I had. The cottage that we were in was gorgeous, with a spacious shower area and cozy yet roomy heart shaped tub for two. It was very quiet in the room despite the fact that it is close to an interstate. You would never know once you were in the room. The breakfast they served was excellent and served to the room just when we asked. A place we will definitely revisit. Impossible to come up with any kind of complaint or improvement to suggest regarding any diminished expectations. It is an old place and currently undergoing some cosmetic exterior renovations that did not impact our stay.
My family (wife and 2 kids) stayed at the Jefferson Street B&B for a couple nights over a week and a half ago. The rooms were great, and Lee was very friendly. We even got in the Hot Tub (although Texas Heat makes it a short stay during the day). The room was wheelchair accessible which was important to me as I use a manual chair. Parking in the back was a perk on this trip. A "What to do and how to get there" book in the room was very helpful. I really enjoyed our 2 night stay. And she is right, the B&B ruined us for Hotels on the remaining week on our other destinations. DG
I love old victorian b and b's, but my husband doesn't, so this was the perfect place for a girl who grew up with the simpler, and peaceful farm life. I said "practically" in the title to elude to the movie, but you can leave the "practically" off~it was perfect in every way. Read all the reviews to give you a complete picture of the PB Ranch. The reviewers covered every wonderful aspect of the ranch, the hosts, Nancy and Allen the spacious, new, beautifully decorated cottage/barn that we "shared with M and M, an amazing and friendly Palomino. Don't worry about the cute or even elegant victorians and come sample wonderful peace in the country that God provides with your accommodating Christian couple. Rosie the cat welcomed us on our covered front porch where we spent much of our time, but she wasn't a problem even though I'm allergic to cats. Perfect for a secluded get-away or a family with children who will love to explore the beautiful area with all the sweet animals. There should actually be a six star rating for places like this. Thank you again, Nancy and Allen for your fellowship. We will be back soon and can't wait. Your forever friends, Jim and Mary Kay
My husband and I went to Lockheart for my birthday weekend and it was wonderful. Bill and Kelly are really nice and the room ( love nest) was extraordinary. The have many options for breakfast pancakes and ours were really good. We will def go back!
The hosts, Bill and Kelly, are wonderful, very pleasant and enthusiastic towards their guests. The carriage house rooms (we've stayed twice to-date) are incredible. Very quite, peaceful, and extremely relaxing. The open shower and the separate double jacuzzi tub make for a great opportunity to begin relaxing early and staying relaxed. They've provided scented oils and candles for the jacuzzi, which adds to the experience. Although it was July, the weather was perfect (unseasonably cool 69 degrees!) for an outside breakfast on the porch off the garden. The beds are marvelously comfortable, with very soft sheets (which my wife loved). As a recommendation, check out the breakfast options. The roses are a nice touch, as is the soft music that is playing on entry into the room.
I had the opportunity to stay at this lovely B&B one weekend in June as in town for a girls' reunion weekend. The location of the property is terrific - in the eclectic, cool neighborhood with several really good eating places just a few blocks away. The rooms were spacious, decorated perfectly to go with the architecture and style of the whole house. The property has a wonderful pool/patio area which we took advantage of (they actually have many patio areas around the rose garden and front porch, where we also relaxed). But best of all were the breakfasts and the hosts themselves. Very friendly and helpful, eager to make sure our stay was excellent. The breakfasts with fresh coffee were outstanding (full breakfasts with bacon, stuffed french toasts and eggs benedict with fresh fruit and yogurts, muffins). The rooms were quiet at night, even though all of them are on the 2nd floor next to each other. And each room had its own private bath. I highly recommend this B&B to anyone traveling to the Ft. Worth area. it is worth it! Stayed June 2014, traveled with friends
Your website lead me to Rocky Top Ranch and Resort. Rocky Top R & R (more like Rest & Relaxation) was exactly what my wife and I needed. A quiet and out of the way location where we enjoyed Texas country living and hospitality. Their pool and gazebo area behind the house was spectacular. Plenty of areas to choose from for sitting, sunning, or swimming! The Hot Tub had its own view to just sit and enjoy the scenery. Everywhere you walked, there were many areas to relax. Ranch House charm with flare depending upon which room you chose. (You’ll just have to see for yourself.) When breakfast time arrived, it was a treat! Farm fresh eggs, homemade jelly served with other great food items. One of the reasons why we decided to stay was because of Eagle Mountain Lake located about 20 minutes away (just north of Fort Worth). We rented a boat and spent time out on the water. Great lake, friendly people. Before leaving, we took the tour they offer around the property. From the expanse open fields where the cattle roamed (yes….the song is in my head) to the hill top views was worth it. Once on top of the hill it gave a tremendous view of the surrounding area. While the house and surrounding property was enjoyable, what truly made the trip great was the hospitality of Joyce, Jessica her daughter and all of the family members we met through the weekend. From the moment we arrived, they made sure we were taken care of and had everything that we needed. They did not want to interfere with our stay but were so nice to talk to we could not help ourselves. My wife and I did not want to tell everyone about Rocky Top’s version of R&R for fear of not being able to get a room there again! It would be a shame though if everyone did not get a chance to experience this great place themselves. My wife definitely has plans for bringing the kids and grandkids for a weekend of fun.
This was our first B&B experience and we loved it! The Rosen House Inn has set the bar high for any of our other future B&B stays. The breakfast was delicious, the pool was an awesome addition, and the hostess could not have been sweeter. The rooms were spacious and the home had all kinds of interesting antiques to admire. Can't wait to head back to Texas and stay again! Go TCU!
The Hattie May Inn is fantastic! A nice quaint place to stay in Fort Worth that is close to downtown! The couple that owns this awesome historic home are just the nicest and most accommodating people! To top it all off, the wife, Laura, is a Holistic Nutritionist who can tell you just about anything you want to know AND can teach you how to cook healthier on top of that! I can't imagine staying anywhere else!
We had a great time! Reservations for dinner on Saturday evening were made for us at Giuseppe's which was delicious, and we had a lot of fun seeing and feeding the animals the next morning. The room was great and so was champagne in the hot tub. Will definitely return in the future for another stay!
My husband and I stayed at Alla's B&B over 4th of July weekend AND IT WAS AMAZING!! We were instantly greeted in the driveway by Rick and he escorted us into the house. Shortly after Alla came from around the corner and greeted us like we were family or long time distance friends. The antiques that they keep in the house are unreal!! The original Thomas Edison light bulbs that still work great and are over 100 years old! Incredible!! We were then given a tour of the house and offered hor dourves and wine. We seriously could have just stayed there the rest of the night talking to Rick and Alla it was so much fun! They recommended a fabulous little italian resturant to dine at and after we came back we began our spa cabana, which was lovely. European chocolate candies are delish so try and get those if you can!! We got to pick the bottle of wine from a wide collection directly from Alla's cellar! PLUS outside was lawn furniture that was already covered in plastic if your hot tub experience gets to hot. We had robes and slippers awaiting in our room just for this purpose. Divine!! The best was very comfortable, there are air conditioners in each room so YOU control the temperature, and don't worry if you forgot ANYTHING because she has literally EVERYTHING stocked already in the bathrooms!! The european king breakfast was a personal favorite. We LOVED EVERYTHING about this experience!!! And will stay NO WHERE ELSE but Alla's when we visit the Dallas area!!
We stayed at MD Resort Vacation & Retreat Center in Dallas Fort Worth Texas for our niece's wedding in April. We stayed in the main lodge and had a wonderful time. The resort is lovely and relaxing and the staff is excellent, the made sure we had absolutely everything we needed or wanted. This would be a wonderful place to stay to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city for a weekend.
Booking process was very simple. Since we were arriving late on Friday for a 2 night stay we got that night for half the normal rate. We arrived about 8:30pm and followed the instructions on the door to ring the bell and go around to the right. At that point we were met by a maintenance man I think who spoke almost no English. We got the key and made our breakfast choices then were told where the room was. We stayed in room 10 known as"The Penthouse". Different in that the bathroom is upstairs from the living area. Knew that going in and it was no problem. What isn't very clear from the pictures is the size of the living/bedroom area. To say it's small would be an understatement. Tiny is better. Watching TV or relaxing is only comfortable on the bed. Back to the bathroom. There is no TV as pictured - not a big deal but it shouldn't be pictured. Plenty of hot water for the huge tub - just know it will take a good 30 minutes to fill. Road noise really isn't a big detractor as long as the window A/C unit is running. Breakfast was average but the service was very prompt and it was hot. Room was very clean. If you're looking for a destination stay I would say Weatherford overall would be a C-. Having stayed in several other B&B locations with about the same price I would give this a C.
Words can't describe the service and pleasure that I experience while staying at Alla's Bed n Breakfast. Everything was what I expected and more. This will be my choice of lodging everytime I'm in the area.
We had a great time! This was our first Bed and Breakfast and our honeymoon as well and we loved how old-timey the place was decorated and how comfortable our bed was! Wonderful hospitalify and great food! Ala made me special gluten free breakfasts becuase I'm allergic to gluten and it was so nice of her to go the extra mile to find food that I could have. We will definitely be going back!
Clean comfortable room. The breakfast available was more like the type found in a Motel lobby. The food available was located in a storage room. Only available tables were patio table outside or taken back to the room. The places that I have been that advertise themselves as B&B serve hot home made meals at a dining room table usually set with flatware, tablecloths or placemats and napkins. The arrangement was not very appetizing.
Our son gives us gift certificates to B&B.com several times a year as gifts. We love getting away every once in a while just to wind down and relax. We just spent the weekend at the Rosen House Inn and had a fabulous time. We stayed in the Fairmont Suite. It was very lovely. I loved the claw tub and my husband enjoyed the large shower. The bathroom was HUGE. We enjoyed the pool. Kelly turned on the music for us. Lil Jimmy Buffet to swim by.... The grounds are well kept. Deb served us a delicious breakfast both mornings and was very accommodating when we need a bucket of ice in the early evening. I got up early both mornings and sat on the front porch and listened to the birds singing. We will definitely go back!
My husband and I live about 45mins out of Ft. Worth and stayed here over night for our anniversary. We enjoyed our stay and the owners are very personable and love to serve on you. We ate our breakfast out on the turret which was amazing! Our room had an enclosed balcany/porch which was my favorite part.
Staying two nights in the Hattie May Inn this weekend was a sheer delight. It was relaxing and there is plenty to do in the area. It is close to the revitalized areas on Magnolia and also very close to Ft. Worth's Downtown, Sundance Square, and the Historic Stockyards area. There are very good restaurants all in these areas. The inn keepers are very nice & the breakfasts they prepared are very good. They want to make sure your stay is enjoyed. We plan to go back!
Deb and Kelly made our two days in Fort Worth extra memorable. Their dining suggestions on Magnolia St. (short distance from the B&B) were spot-on as was Deb's recommendation at the Stock Yards. Breakfasts were excellent and the flexible timing was appreciated.
