St. Francis Inn

My friends and I stayed at St. Francis Inn from May 28 to May 31st. This was a first experiece for my friends at a B&B and they are now sold on the idea of staying at one. The service was excellent, the friendliness of the staff was superb. The Inn was close to the historic district, everything was within walking distance. We will stay again if in the St. Augustine area.

Let me start by saying "we are not usually B+B types, we usually stay in hotels". However, as we were looking for something to do over the Memorial Day weekend, we received an email from "VisitFlorida" and the St. Francis Inn was displayed. After some research, we decided to book the weekend. Overall, the experience was excellent. The staff member at check-in was amazing. The room was very nice and the amenities included in the room rate made the rate well worth the value if one really takes advantage of all of it. The location was a reasonable walk to the Historic section of Saint Augustine and there are many restaurants and things to do in that area. There are a couple of very minor points worth noting. The other staff members we encountered, while good at their jobs and very professional, were not as warm as the person at check-in. Also, they did not seem to take overly seriously the oncoming tropical storm. Being Floridians and watching the forecasts, we checked out one day early (on our dime, which I expected and understood) to avoid the storm. This was a "tough" decision on their part as they had to weigh up the risks of causing undue concern vs safety. Saying that, the lack of concern for the oncoming storm did match most of the folks downtown that same day as we did a few things before leaving the area). Overall, if one likes the B+B experience, this place is one we suggest.

We will be returning to this place, the staff could not do enough for us and all the other guests. On a quiet street but still very close toall in the historical district. The rooms are beautiful and all have their own twist on comfort. The off street parking was a bonus plus the trolley bus stops just around the corner so the car stayed in the car park the entire time we were there. Would highly recommend the St. Francis - location, service & cleanliness were all perfect.

Booked after viewing website. Service & food was better than expected. Environment was peaceful and quiet at night. Very convenient location. Walked to most points of interest. Our only complaint is that the mattress was not comfortable. Would have stayed a third night but could not tolerate another night of restless sleep.

We just stayed two nights and I was wishing we could stay more. We definitely will stay there again if we're ever in the area. The people who worked there were SO kind and helpful. She seemed happy to offer their service and truly want you to have a great experience. The various food and beverage services were my favorite feature. You won't go hungry there! The building itself is so charming and has all the amenities you need. I loved the patio and balcony with swings

St. Augustine is one of our favorite places, and the St. Francis Inn is partly why. We love staying at the Inn and occasionally at the Beach House. The breakfasts are delicious and the people are wonderful.

Positives: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at St. Francis Inn! We reserved a third floor room which was immaculately clean. The bed was large and very comfortable. The Inn is situated just outside all the major hustle and bustle of the tourist activity but an easy walk to everything you want to see in Old St. Augustine. If walking is a problem for you, you can buy tickets and go just around the corner to the Oldest House Museum and catch the trolley which will take you to every point of interest in the historic district. The happy hour and evening dessert times were pleasant additions to the already great service. Breakfast was delicious each morning! The private parking area was a plus. We liked the fact that they also provided parking at the beach, along with chairs, towels, and water, if we had chosen to access it. Negatives - Since it is an OLD building there is some noise factor ...creaks from the staircase and doors opening and closing as other guests return late and outside street noise (horse and carriages, street sweepers, etc...), which can disrupt your sleep if you are a light sleeper. The large tub/shower in our room had no handrail and you had to step high to get in (which can be a hazard for some who have back or hip problems or are elderly). Also, the shower water temperature fluctuated from very hot to very cold - not conducive to leg shaving, girls! Ha! Bottonline: St. Francis is a lovely old Inn with excellent service and a great location and we would return for another stay as well as recommend it to others. Lisa and Nate -Jesup, GA.

We were greeted by the best staff. The food experience we wonderful. The location was perfect but best of all was the hospitality. It was exactly like it was described, very quaint and very welcoming.

First time at a B & B. The room was adorable, bed comfy and cozy. Loved the little touches, mints on the pillow, sherry in the room, fireplace.Stayed in the "Courtyard". Very quiet. Only down side was the people in the room above were constantly walking back and forth. Loved the social hour with wine, beer and snacks. Even my boyfriend who is not big on socializing met 2 couples from his home town and had some nice conversation. Had a nice waffle breakfast and great cappucino coffee. Would highly recommend it

Pleasant, helpful staff, clean, beautiful rooms, and great food. The Inn location is perfect for the historical district and beach outings. Hve been before and will continue to visit this wonderful place.

The St. Francis Inn was charming and quiet. It is in historic downtown, but is at the other end of St. Georges Street from the bars and loud noise. Everything is within a short walk. The staff was outstanding and it was the most relaxing vacation I have had in a long time. Highly recommend you stay here if possible. I definately will be back.

We have stayed 3-4 times at Saint Francis. Each visit has been a grand experience. The staff makes sure your visit is memorable one. They take Well all the details and the lodging and food is excellent! Saint Francis Inn was our first B&B that we ever stayed. This is an exceptional B&B with fantastic amenities; good food, nice location, even the pull-out couch mattress was great!

We Stay here annually, and although it ia a bit pricey, we have found it to be the best B&B for ambience and amenities.

Location, people, food and accommodations were first class and comfortable. I particularly liked having lunch, (from a locale cafe) on our "private porch" outside our room.

The staff was outstanding, the inn was charming, and the value was unmatched. I can't wait to go back to the St Francis Inn again! We absolutely loved it.

We were not disappointed at all with our stay at the St Francis Inn. Built in 1791, it's old, and that lends to the charm. The Innkeeping staff were great, I can only rave, about the room, the service and the amenties. After walking and driving through town, I did not see another Inn that looked nearly as quaint or remote. What's important for St Augustine? Parking, discounts, quiet, location (near trolley stop) and the St Francis has it all.

From the moment we entered St. Francis Inn, we were made to feel welcomed and at home. The Inn was clean and inviting; the staff friendly and helpful. We stayed in Elizabeth's Suite and thoroughly enjoyed the extra space to relax, read and watch TV. The bed was very comfortable. The Inn is located within walking distance of just about everything, which is a real plus. We have enjoyed staying in B & Bs whenever a suitable one has been located in our travel area. St. Francis Inn rates as one of the best regarding breakfast selections, availability of snacks and desserts - good value for the price of the room.

The Beach Cottage provided a great place to rendezvous with our two adult sons. We used many amenities, including the WiFi, full size fridge in the kitchen, and jacuzzi bathtub. We enjoyed the breakfast at the main inn and got a recommendation for a French Restaurant in town where we had a delicious meal.

We stayed for a long anniversary weekend and just loved it! I could not get over how comfortable we felt. A big plus for us was how helpful the staff was and this B&B is a "green" B&B, which was so very appreciated.

Me and my husband just returned from a first time stay at The St Francis Inn. From the time we walked in until the time we left, we felt so welcomed and everyone was so friendly. We purchased the Romance package with our room and everything was wonderful! The dinner that was included was absolutley fabulous. We are already planning more trips to this inn. Definetly worth every penny!!!!

My stay at the St. Francis was a great experience. From the detailed directions I was given on the phone while approaching the Inn on my day of arrival, to the friendly staff and the exquisite meals prepared! The St. Francis and all of their staff are a Class Act. It is a great location because it is an easy walk to the historic district, but far enough away so you don't feel like you are packed in with all the tourists. I was at first, taken back, when the staff called me by my first name my first day at the Inn. I had to turn around to see who knew my name. They really take the time and effort to make you feel right at home. I would highly recommend the St. Francis for your next stay in St. Augustine!

The purpose for our visit was to explore St. Augustine. My husband had business there on Friday 2/10, we extended our stay to learn about the history of the city. We are from the west coast of Florida. The location of St. Francis Inn is excellent for walking or biking the town, we did not move our vehicle the entire weekend. The grounds are very attractive and well maintained. The dining room was well maintained, food excellent and kitchen staff accommodating and friendly. The front desk though busy, handled everything efficiently. The Courtyard Room would be the only drawback of the trip. In the bathroom the tub and commode are extremely close together. The size of the bathroom could be a problem for some folks. Over flow towels are placed on the back of the commode. There is no shelving outside of the shower for toiletries. The sink is located outside the bathroom near the queen bed. The only usable mirror in the room is above the sink, I am 5'2' it was a stretch for me. The other mirror was located in the back of the wardrobe but you had to hang your clothing in front of it. The glass tables in the room were sparkling but the wood front of the bathroom sink was extremely dusty as were the blinds and baseboards.

We want to apologize again for the issues you experienced in the Courtyard Room during your recent visit. As we stated in the letter we sent you (shortly after your departure) which included a Gift Certificate to use toward a future visit: we have purchased additional towel bars and a shelf for the restroom and have hung an antique mirror (lower)in the bedroom. We very much appreciated all of your suggestions and are always looking for ways to improve the guest experience.

The history of this 1791 home is amazing. The service was more than outstanding. We felt like we didn't pay enough for all that we received from this inn. The rooms were clean and cozy. You will get a different breakfast each day of your stay. Social hour includes drinks and appetizers. The dining room is so comfortable that you will feel at ease sharing your time with every visitor. To top that, dessert is served every night and it is delicious. The inn has bikes available for use to ride around this quaint historic town. The inn is within walking distance of downtown. Every person bent over backwards to make sure everyone who stays there is happy. We also got free tickets to the lighthouse.

We spent 2 nights at the St. Francis Inn. The B&B was very clean and the staff was extremely pleasant to deal with. We felt right at home. The food was delicious. I would definitely stay there again in the future.

This was our second stay at the St Francis and it was just as good as the first time. The food is better than any B&B we have experienced. They feed you a lot and it is all great.

My wife and I stayed at the St. Francis on a recent weekend and were overwhelmed by the service, the food and the staff's friendliness. Our only regret was we were unable to stay longer and you can be sure we will be back. The rooms were appointed with fine antique furniture, quiet and comfortable. We enjoyed the whirlpool bath and all the modern conveniences. Having wifi in our room was great along with the flat screen televisions hooked to cable. Even the towels and linens spoke of excellence and quality. We highly recommend the St. Francis Bed & Breakfast.

We spent one night at the St. Francis Inn between Christmas and New Year's Eve. The Christmas lights were still up and St. Augustine was in the midst of the holiday season. The St. Francis Inn was decorated in holiday splendor. The front desk staff was highly professional and accommodating. They made us feel like special. They answered our questions, offered suggestions, and set the tone for what turned out to be an outstanding stay.

My fiance and I only stayed two nights and we were sad to leave when our time was up. The management was very kind and helpful. The food was better than any hotel or bed in breakfast I've been to. You can rent bikes free of charge to travel which is almost a necessity when traveling around the historic sites. It was a beautiful place and an incredible experience, and I can't wait to go back!

As a young couple, we really enjoyed everything the St. Francis Inn's close location to St. George Street, the great amenities, and the outstanding service. I highly recommend St. Francis to couples and families of all ages.

I surprised my boyfriend with a weekend at St. Francis Inn for his birthday. I reservered Maria's Room and also purchased the Inn's Sweatheart Fanatsy Package - which is worth every penny! - They helped me make sure every little detail was perfect from what time I wanted breakfast in bed to dinner reservations at the AMAZING restaurant that is included in the sweartheart package. Everyone was so friendly, like they had known us for years. The food was awesome from breakfast in bed to the dessert social in the evening. Our room was so romantic and cozy. The Inn is perfect all the way around. We will definately be back!!!

Our stay at the St Frances was a memorable one and looking forward for our next visit. It was a surprise proposal weekend that I had planed for my Now fiance and everything went according to plan thanks to the help of Adele and the knowledgeable staff. Thanks everyone !!!

We went to St Francis for our honeymoon. It was very nice and we will be returning on our anniversaries.

My husband and I spent a wonderful long weekend with another couple to celebrate the holidays and enjoy the beautiful lights of St. Augustine. Although we've been to this historic and magical city before, this was our first time for the Nights of Lights. We didn't want the weekend to end. The staff at St. Francis was incredibly friendly. The food and daily social hour was absolutely fantastic. Everything about our visit made it all the harder to leave. A special thank you to everyone at St. Francis Inn. We are recommending you to our friends.

Took my grandson to St. Augustine for pre Christmas gift and stayed at St. Francis Inn in the Garden Hideaway. Very pleased with all the food and refreshments. The Inn is lovely and we were made to feel very comfortable and welcomed. Was impressed they took the time to know each guests names. I was a bit disappointed in the Garden Hideaway for the price of the room. Other rooms we saw while exploring the second floor were very nice and rates were well worth them. Will certainly stay at St. Francis Inn again on my next visit in April but not in the same room.

We loved the Inn. The people were great and the added food options were a pleasant change. Drinks (coffee, tea, hot choc.,sodas and iced water) were available 24/7. Then there were hors duevers before we would leave for dinner and dessert when we returned to the Inn. The breakfasts were great also and the options to eat in the dining room, out on the patio or in your room was a welcome change. The room was nicely appointed and a good size. The bathroom was very comfortable, especially the Jacuzzi tub. Our only complaint would be the bed. It was an antique four poster (very attractive). The mattress was a very nice pillow top BUT there was no support for this mattress and it sagged terribly AND the noise made by the bed whenever one of us turned or got out of bed was alarming. Every night, I thought it would be better as we adjusted to a strange bed, BUT it only seemed to get worse. So as much as we enjoyed our stay, we couldn't wait to get home to our own bed.

The St. Francis Inn met and exceeded our expectations. We have stayed at other B&B's in St. Augustine and the St. Francis is the best one to date. The breakfast buffet on Sunday morning along, with Mimosas and Bloody Mary's, was a wonderful experience. We were going to miss the evening dessert and asked them to save us apiece of cake they were kind enough to leave it in our room. What service. If you get the munchies there are snacks in the office that you have access to along with sodas, bottled water, tea and coffee. It is well worth the price of the room and we do plan on returning the next time we are in St. Augustine. This is definitely a five star B&B.

My wife and I just recently returned from a weekend visit to our FAVORITE Bed and Breakfast, the St. Francis Inn! This was our 7th time staying at St. Francis, and as always, everything was fantastic. The staff, Kelly, Bev, Adele, et. al, are all so friendly and accommodating. When we noticed that the breakfast menu had changed, and that the seasonal pancakes were now served on Wednesday instead of Saturday, I was a little disappointed. However, on Sunday morning, when I said "good morning" to the staff as we came down for breakfast, what did I see being brought to our table? It was Janice, with a platter of pumpkin pancakes!! (Yum!) If you want a nice, quiet, bed and breakfast in St. Augustine that is close (walking distance) to the historic district without being in the middle of it all, definitely stay at the St. Francis Inn.

My daughter and I stayed in the Elizabeth Suite. The suite was very comfortable and we had plenty of room to spread out. The inn and the guest rooms were decorated for Christmas giving it a very homey, personal feel. The outside grounds were also nicely decorated with a Christmas tree and lights. We will definitely stay here again and would not hesitate to recommend it to others.

Nice little place with caring management. The grounds are kind of down at the heel as are some of the public spaces. We were not interested in the afternoon and evening snacks but the other guests were pleased with them. All in all OK

Came up to see the beautiful lights in St. Augustine. We had a very peaceful night stay at the St. Francis Inn. The Inn looked wonderful with all the Christmas decorations inside and out! The food was fantastic! Would love to come back next year!

The St. Francis Inn is the oldest (1790's) Inn in the oldest city in the U.S, how appropriate! The Inn is very cozy, well decorated (especially for Christmas), with lovely courtyards! what atmosphere! the extras are truly extra - great breakfast, free happy hour (ith wine and beer and great home made snacks), desert hour late in the evening, free bicycles, movies, DVDs, you name it. The rooms are small, but comfy. a great place to stay!

For my Fiance's 35th Birthday, I made reservations to stay at St.Francis Inn. I chose the "Romance Package" for his special weekend. Keeping this a secret from him was a very trying task. The staff at St. Francis - BLESS THEM! They went above and beyond to help me keep it a secret and to have everything ready when we arrived. For 2 weeks, I planned. By phone and by email, the staff at St. Francis made it the most memorable experience the both of us have ever had together. By the time the planning and details were done, the staff and I were on a first name basis with each other. Again, Bless them for all the effort and hard work they put in. When we checked in, they also knew my Fiance's first name due to all the planning. Some winked and said "Oh, so YOU are the Birthday Boy!" It was as if the entire staff knew the both of us. They are so very gracious and personable. They greet you as if you're family. The ambiance of the St. Francis Inn is unlike anything we had ever experienced. It's taking a step back in time. Absolutely beautiful, comfortable and very clean. Beverly led us to our room on the 3rd floor. Waiting for my Fiance' was a Birthday cake I asked them to make for him, alongside a chilled bucket of wine with two lovely glasses, flowers - and the letter I had emailed to them written from me to my Fiance'. They typed it up and had it sitting next to the roses. IT. WAS. PERFECT. I am so grateful to the staff at St. Francis for all they did for us. The food, the staff, the gorgeous rooms - St. Francis is THEE place to stay when in St. Augustine. My Fiance' and I have been together for almost 14 years now. In our magical weekend staying at St. Francis - we fell in love with each other all over again. There is so much more I can say, but to sum this up - because of our time spent at St. Francis, we know in our hearts this is the place two soul-mates were meant to become one... and so we have decided we will be getting married at the St. Francis Inn.

Great location, easily accessible to the Old City within walking distance; terrific breakfast offerings and delicious Cinnamon Mocha to celebrate the season!

Stayed in the Overlook Room. Nice and cozy but a little strange to have the bathtub in the corner of the bedroom as well as the sink in the room. Social hour was nice but the selection of food served was just a veggie tray and some hummus. Breakfast on Thanksgiving morning was fine. Good selection of items. Think we may have had a visit from the ghost of "Lilly" as our clock radio went off at midnight!!! No explanation but fun to think that it was a visitor.

our stay at the st. francis inn was absolutely perfect. the staff is super courteous and accommodating. the food at all times delicious. and the inn's location is the most convenient as is the parking. we hope we can return soon.

My wife and I stayed at theInn at Camachee Cove which is part of the St. Francis Inn. We found the place to be very relaxing since we were overlooking the water on the Marina. The best part was that we were close enough to enjoy Downtown St. Augustine but far away enough to be away from all the crowds. We have recommended it already to our friends and will definitely go back again. Furthermore, we have recommended BedandBreakfast.com as well.

The staff was wonderful and was there to take care of all our needs. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend St Francis Inn as a great place to go for a getaway vacation.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at St. Francis Inn! The food was great and the staff was very accommodating.

This was the first time we stayed in St. Augustine and we couldn't have picked a better B&B. We stayed 3 weeknights in October in the Balcony Room - spacious with a balcony on 2 sides. The whirlpool tub in the middle of the room was fantastic. We really enjoyed the variety of foods at breakfast, which is a "serve yourself" and then you can eat in the large dining room, in the courtyard or in your room. I'm a vegetarian and could find something to eat every day - and all fresh! Zeke the cat met us every morning as we headed out on our walking excursions - everything is close (Flagler College, Oldest House, Old City area, restaurants, the Fort, etc. The innkeepers suggested local places to eat and they were spot on! They also gave us great tips on what to do while we were there. There are a lot of inns in the area, but the St. Francis has ample parking - something the other inns don't have. We will be back. We have more exploring to do!

Though there are numerous B&Bs in St. Augustine, I am so delighted I selected this one. Exceptional in all ways!

I have stayed in the Garden Hideaway, Courtyard Room, Balarina Room, Elizabeth Suite, and Anna's Room and loved them all. Plan on trying the Wilson Suite next. Breakfast is amazing and the Inn offers lots of perks which increases the value in my opinion. It is a great place to get away with your husband. Loved it!

This is the third B&B we've stayed in in St Augustine and it is the best yet. The "extra" amenities are wonderful, the service is exceptional. We felt like it was the perfect balance between privacy and the kind of community you often have in a B&B. This will be the place we return to!

My Husband and I stayed at The St. Francis Inn for the night back in July. Before our trip I did a lot of research and came upon their website. After reading many fantastic reviews we decided to book with them. Let me tell you when we first arrived we felt like we were taken back in time. The grounds and surrounding area were amazing!! Our room was clean and super comfortable. The food was fantastic. Our favorite was the delicious breakfast. There was something for everyone. This is not only a place we will be coming back to but we will also recommend for others to go and stay at!!

My husband and I went to St. Augustine on a spontaneous whim as we had not had the opportunity to celebrate our anniversary. St. Francis Inn was recommended by a good friend- whom I cannot thank enough!!! We had a separate entrance to a courtyard room that was perfect- bikes to ride, swimming, separate beach access, delicious breakfast with strawberry "soup" to die for... but it did not stop there. Everyone was so thoughtful and kind .. Carolyn ensured we had every need met... we have stayed at many hotels over the years- but this was by far our most romantic and memorable stay. The only complaint? They asked us to stay another night.. and we had to leave too soon. Trust me.. we will be back.. sooner rather than later if it's up to me!! We had 4 days and 3 nights in the St. Francis Inn. We had a private entrance that opened to the courtyard and 2 rockers. The food was wonderful! Beautiful desserts every evening, coffee and tea anytime and snacks were available through the night. Staff was really helpful and made everything available to make the stay enjoyable and efficient. Everything was perfect. We had a wonderful stay. The picnic basket was delicious. Service was wonderful, especially Heather at the front desk. We will be back!

We stayed at the St. Francis and found the location and hospitality to be great, but the mattress had well worn wells in it and the pull out sofa rolled everything to the center. After a night of holding on to the side to not roll to the middle, I needed my chiropractor, and wanted to go home.

We stayed at the St. Francis Inn to celebrate our 5th Anniversary, and had a fabulous time. This was our first visit to St. Augustine. The entire weekend exceeded our expectations, the Balcony Room was fantastic; everyone at the Inn was welcoming, friendly, and accommodating; my massage with Kelly made me a fan of hers for life, she has the “touch” and is extremely talented and knowledgeable; the food was great and Mary the chef shared a dip recipe that was fabulous; our visit into town was invigorating…we had such a memorable and outstanding time we can’t wait to go back and play again!

Our stay was fantastic. We have stayed in St. Augustine several times and will NEVER try another place. We loved it. The room was great, food was awesome and service outstanding. We will be back~again and again.

I took my daughter to St Francis Inn for her graduation weekend. We stayed in Lillie's room. Everything was perfect. We had a great time and are planning another trip in the fall. Everyone there was wonderful!!

My husband and I took a mini vacation to St. Augustine and we were having a very difficult time getting a room for one night. We drove up to the hotel and I went inside to check vacancy. Adele was at the front desk and she was so pleasant and informative. She helped us make reservations for dinner and helped us with anything that we needed. I will be going back to this B&B in the future. We stayed at a 4 star resort the next evening and we missed being at the St. Augustine Inn. We stayed in the Garcia Suite, it was worth the extra money that we put towards it. I really cannot say how much my husband and I enjoyed our one year anniversary, they made it so special for us. From the minute I walked in the door I fell in love with the St Francis. The ambiance & warmth in this old building are amazing & you can't miss the positive energy all around you. The staff truly make one feel as if they are really glad you're there & want you to enjoy your stay & they make it clear they will do anything to make that happen for you. The service & friendliness were exceptional. There are countless extras & bonuses for guests included in your tariff, discounts at area businesses etc. The food served was fresh, delectable & plentiful. We stayed in the lovely Ballerina Room which was perfectly situated for privacy & quiet, we loved it. The bed was more comfortable than our own! The free parking is a gift in St Augustine!-we parked our car when we got there & didn't move it till we left, you can walk everywhere from this inn. There is nothing I would change about our stay at the St Francis other than making it longer! Be sure to spend some time sitting in the lush courtyard, day or night, it's peaceful & lovely. We will go back & I can't wait to get there-this place is special.

This B&B is excellent. Breakfast is absolutely wonderful. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. We will return next March as this B&B is a must; a real gem!

The inn has an old fashioned but quaint feel to it. We stayed in Marie's room which was small but comfortable. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. They even gave us a break down of the city and sights to check out. The inn offers a lot of amenities including a full breakfast, social hour and dessert hour and complimentary hot beverages & iced tea all day. Our fav was borrowing bikes and riding all around St Aug. Def an enjoyable stay!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The food was wonderful, service exceptional. Many extras such as wine and appetizers late afternoon, dessert and coffee in evening, cappucino or lattes available. We would definitely go back!

My girlfriend took me here for my 24th birthday last june and we stayed in St. Francis actual living quarters. It was an awesome experience! The staff and Bed and Breakfast was great! Love the Nightly Sangria and Cheese! Will be going back very soon! I would not recommend this place in June because thats when I would like to be going back and would love the availablity!

I would love to give the St. Francis Inn a 5 star review but I cannot. Our stay in the Marie Room was NOT acceptable. We were not notified that this room is located on the other side of the Inn’s kitchen. We woke up every morning before 6am to pots and pans clanging, and cabinets slamming. When my husband and I would return for a midday nap – the noise continued. The clatter rattled into the LATE evening each of the 3 days we were there. It was insufferable. Not to mention the bed was extremely stiff, and hard to sleep or relax on. As the Inn was completely booked, I saw no point in asking for another room to be moved to. This made me feel very sad, as the staff ladies were all sweet as pie – save one. The lady in question was terse with my husband when he complained that neither the phone nor the fireplace in our room were working. What’s worse is when a tire on a bike we borrowed from the Inn was needing to be changed – a nice repair gentleman there offered to fix it for us, and while he was doing so – this same lady rudely interrupted his fixing of the bike and conversation with us, to say “Here is your work order for that” and look at us irritated. I am sure the paperwork could have been handed to him at a more appropriate time. She made asking for assistance awkward and unwelcome. All in all, I am disappointed in the St. Francis Inn, as there was so much ambiance and culinary things to love. I think that people get swept away by the ‘uniqueness’ of a B&B and feel bad about commenting on things that might damage the reputation of the Inn. But if it were a hotel……. A stiff bed, constant racket, and a rude staff member would be badly rated – would it not? I would like to go back to the Inn personally – and stay in another room – as it IS a beautiful property, ideally located, offering delicious food & complimentary spirits, and most of the staff truly were welcoming. I would recommend the Inn to travelers – only do NOT stay in the Marie room!!

My son and I came to St. Augustine to visit Flagler College. We really enjoyed our stay at the St. Francis Inn! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The Breakfast was delicious! The social hour and and late night desserts were my son's favorite. We stayed in the Elizabeth Suite and were very happy with everything! I can't wait to come back and visit again! Barbara & Zachary

This was our second visit to the St. Francis. It really is an outstanding value and a wonderful romantic getaway. Add one of the many package deals to your reservation - you won't be disappointed. Unlike most B & Bs where you only get B & B, here you also get a social hour in the afternoon with wonderful snacks and beer and wine and a sweet dessert time later in the evening. The staff is always pleasant and patient and will accommodate any request. Historic old St. Augustine is a short stroll away with wonderful restaurants and lovely old architecture. We plan to visit at least once a year!

Hi my name is Sonny, I got to go on vacation with my Grandma, Mom, and Sister. Just so you know I am of the four legged variety, some say I am a dog...but I think not! I was a little nervous when I first arrived at St Francis Inn but not for long. The staff and other guest treated me just like family they gave me treats, pats on the head and nice chats. The two story Cottage that me and my family stayed in was perfect, we had our own entrance so my family could take me out whenever I needed to without disturbing the other guests, a pull out bed downstairs so my Mommy could stay with me (I am too old to climb stairs) and a lovely courtyard that my family had breakfast and snacks at and I got to join them! The inn is located right by a really nice park and if you go down the street a little there is a really nice pond that my Mommy walked me around. I liked that a lot! My family really liked walking around St Augustine, they said it was really nice and they felt safe...they said you can walk everywhere and see everything but the trolley is fun also. My Mom said that we will come back to visit, I can't wait!

My husband and I live in Daytona so we always only stayed for the day in St Augustine. This time we decided to stay, and I'm glad we did. The st Francis Inn was Great! We stayed in Lillys room ,although Lilly was a no show We had such a great time! The Inn was so clean and the food!!! WOW It was great! We are planning to to come back and stay in the spring. I am counting down the days!!

The Balcony Room was a true romantic experience. From the comfortable four post bed, soothing whirlpool tub and the historic charm, this inn is a winner. The staff was extemely helpful and the daily breakfast was delicious.

If you are looking for a quiet stay at a superior value the St Francis Inn is for you. The staff went out of their way to help us and it was greatly appreciated. Food was OK. Rooms were clean. Lily’s room lived up to our hopes.

we enjoyed our stay at the St. Francis. it's in a quiet part of historic St. Augustine. the food was fabulous! breakfast, wine and appetizers and dessert and coffee...all complimentary. the fact that the Inn has parking was a plus in that narrow section of downtown.

This is a wonderful place to stay! The place is just adorable, the staff exceptionably friendly and helpful! I really can't say enough nice things about St. Francis! The rooms are so cute and cozy. We stayed in two diffrent rooms and each had its own unique character and charm. Staying here made our whole vactaion and we can't wait to return!!!

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to spend our wedding Anniversary. The Courtyard room was very quaint and clean; the food was above our expectations. What a wonderful idea to have a Social hour, it was a great way to meet other people who were staying at the Inn and the employee's were always there to answer any questions. Everything about St. Francis Bed & Breakfast was exceptional and we most certainly stay there the next time we visit St. Augustine.

My wife and I recently stayed here in August and it was a great experience. The staff went out of their way to help us and the morning breakfast was nice. We really loved the history of the Inn and the location in regards to St. George Street. We also took advantage of the Beach Cottage and the swimming pool! We will be back for another stay guaranteed !!!

Me, my mom and sister had a great time staying in the Saffron's suite. It has a lot of room and super clean. It is so relaxing to sit on your own front porch and watch the horse and carriage go by. The Inn is just across a cobble stone one way street. The Chef made my mom a outstanding birthday cake. Very quaint!! Love the St. Francis Inn!!

My husband, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, Westie (dog), and I stayed at the Beach-House on Sat & Sun, July 10-11, 2010. The Beach-House was very large - 2 floors; 2 bedrooms each with a bath; 1 bedroom with a queen bed; 1 bedroom with 2 twin beds; a sundeck with outside stairs; inside a wrought iron spiral staircase down to first floor; first floor had a living room with a pull-out sofa bed, a fireplace, & cathedral ceiling & lots of light, kitchen, bath, washer & dryer, iron & ironing board. Very pretty & romantic. House was 1 house back from the beach. Great location - quiet and relaxed. And beach and house are dog-friendly! A few blocks away were a Caribbean restaurant, Jack's barbecue restaurant, and a taco restaurant. A good Italian restaurant, Verrazano's, delivers pizza & other food. The beds were very comfortable, even for Mom who's in her 80's. We only went to 1 breakfast - at the downtown Inn on Sunday but it was wonderful - lots of variety and homemade goodies, plenty of choices to please all ages. We were in St. Augustine for a family wedding, so didn't really have time to check out the sights but it looked like there was lots to see and do. Even our dog had a great time! Our only regret was not having enough time to stay longer & have more breakfasts, social hours & dessert hours there!

Wonderful place to step back into time! Our 2 rooms were beautiful. One was in the main house and the other across the narrow street. The food was wonderful, the patio was so peaceful, having several tables with chairs. It was filled with calming plants and flowers and a goldfish pond. We were 4 blocks from the waterfront and 2 great restaurants The service was superb. We were delighted with every person we dealt with at all levels. Lind curtious and eager to help. Wish we could have stayed longer!

I am not sure where to start. The Inn is on a quite street just blocks away (walking distance) to the hustle and bustle of Historic Downtown St Augustine. We were able to walk everywhere to explore and not worry about finding parking. Secondly, the access to beach parking, beach chairs, bottled water, and a bathroom just steps away from the beach was priceless. We were able to explore historic downtown and relax on the beach without having to stress out about parking, etc. They really do think of everything in terms of amenities. The food served at the Inn is savory. I have nothing negative to say about this Inn, its staff, food, or amenities. We would go back there in a heartbeat, and i can't wait to refer people to the Inn to enjoy everything we did.

My hubby and I spent a Friday and Saturday night (May 21-23,2010) in Marie's room at the St Francis Inn. The room is centrally located - right beside the lobby, kitchen, and pool and has an entrance that opens to the courtyard. I loved our stay here. The employees were so friendly and the amenities are far superior to any hotel I have stayed at. I am used to being nickeled and dimed to death, not so here! Wonderful breakfast, delightful social hour with complimentary adult drinks, and even a nighttime dessert! I can't forget the free bikes to ride and towels already on the poolside furniture. And in the lobby there are plenty of drinks to sip on - coffee, flavored water, tea - and even some fruit at the receptionists desk. I can't complain about anything significiant except one little detail - the showerhead in the bathroom in Marie's room is very short. It is probably installed at about 5'6 level and I am 5'8 and hubby 6'4 so you can imagine the dipping we had to do to get hair washed :) It is a small one person shower just so you know. The biggest compliment from me aside from the long list of amenitites and fab food, would have to be that it is a bit from the "main action" of historic St Augustine so the nights are very quiet and peaceful. I have friends who have stayed right in the middle of that section and had miserable nights. Much better to ride over to it on the bikes or pay under 20 a person from Ripley to ride their train around, the pick-up is right down the sidewalk from the Inn. We had a great stay and recc. it to anyone!

We booked 2 rooms,and one suite for a other's Day family reunion..Oh My,so pleasurable,we loved everything.The service,the brunch was extraordinary,as we took it outin the court yard.We all either had a jacouzie bath tub,and/or a FP...So very nice,Will definitely stay again.One more thing, we walked everywhere,or took the trolley which stopped around the corner and took us all over the historic downtown...Loved it all...

We just stayed at The St. Francis Inn for the second time. We LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. Very quaint, quiet, comfortable. The staff is fantastic (Bev was absolutely cracking us up!). Very comfortable beds with nice linens. Absolutely LOVE the age of the building -- creaky floors, slightly slanted stairways, doors that don't quite meet the frame. If you love old architecture and history, this is the place to stay!

Outstanding B&B. Except for stairs (we were on 3rd floor!!) it was very nice. Staff helped carry up luggage so it wasn't really so bad. Next time we'll reserve larger room..."Lily" is a little small but adequate for our short stay (2 days-3 nights) & very late reservations. Did not have a "gourmet breakfast" as advertised, but again it was adequate - not outstanding & certainly not "gourmet". Fun evenings with wine & munchies & great desserts later. Very nice. Overall we enjoyed our experience.

We just returned from a three day stay at the St. Francis Inn and it was wonderful. The staff was so friendly and really made you feel pampered. The building is beautiful and well kept. We stayed in the Balcony Room. The breakfasts were fabulous. We also enjoyed the afternoon coffee and cookies, the cocktail socials and the evening desserts. We can't wait to go back.

It's hard to put into words about the level of comfort and hospitality we have recieved on our visits to the St. Francis Inn. If you are the type of person who enjoys the ultra modern 5-star accomodations, its not for you. However, if you are looking a relaxing, no worries, no schedule, trip to grandma's house type vacation, then you have found it! We discovered the inn about three years ago while visiting family in Florida, and have visited the inn 6 or 7 times since. We love the Balcony Room. The food is great, and we really enjoy social hour in the evenings. The staff is wonderful. They do an excellent job of making us feel like we are part of the family. WE LOVE IT!! Many visits to various hotels and guests house"s have been enjoyable. You have not experienced the best until you have been to the St.Francis Inn,from the moment of are arrival you felt the welcome.The food and presentation was outstanding anything you wish for was available. Our stay at St.Francis was Heaven sent. We found a location with courteous and professional staff members who would soon become like family. They couldn't do enough for us. The charm of a historic property, along with the gourmet breakfasts, evening happy hours and late evening desserts and coffee was more than we had expected. My boyfriend and I found St. Francis on the web and booked a room. I was excited because my boyfriend loves to Sail and we would get a free schooner romantic ride with the room. I was then disappointed when they advised they were not running the week we were there - The Inn graciously had Champagne a Birthday welcome note and a free carriage ride instead. I was absolutely thrilled!! When we got there, it looked exactly like the pictures. Everyone was so helpful, kind and wonderful to wish me a Happy Birthday - The breakfast was adequate and met our needs. It was so wonderful and private in the Garden Hideaway - Everything truly is within walkin distance, we enjoyed our surroundings, and we really enjoyed getting in our private Jacuzzi after a long day of walking on our feet - It was by far the best Birthday I have ever had, and the ambiance and people of the Inn made it that much more enjoyable. I would absoluetely reccomend the Inn and have already to my Family and Friends.

We so enjoyed our 3 day celebration in such a beautiful bed & breakfast. We stayed in the Garcia Suite and found it to be roomy and very beautiful. The bed in particular was very comfortable which helped greatly since I tend to have a really bad back. We hope to be able to bring our teenagers the next time because St. Augustine offers alot to any age group. We parked our vehicle on Thursday and didn't get back in it until Sunday when we left.

My fiance' and I spent 3 days at the St Francis Inn Bed and Breakfast in early October. We had been to St Augustine several times, but this was our first stay in a Bed and Breakfast. Everything about our stay was perfect. Our room was across the street in the Wilson House. The room was bright and charming. We especially enjoyed having an evening cocktail on our back porch. The entire staff was so helpful. Caroly's cooking was delicious! We will be recommending the St Francis to all of our family and hope to return again soon!

We travel quite often and primarily stay at B&B's. We recently stayed at this inn and found it to be probably the BEST that we have ever stayed at. The staff was very helpful and friendly, especially our new friend, chef Gary. The room and grounds were beautiful. The food was incredible, with many different options. We just loved the granola and that homemade strawberry jam! We'll be back.

We stayed in Elizabeth's suite the weekend of Nov 6th. We were disappointed. While we loved the grounds and the staff, we found the room below what we had hoped for. We were traveling with our adult daughter and the pull out couch was so uncomfortable. She said it was the worst 2 nites sleep she can remember having in a hotel. The rugs were in great need of cleaning. While I adore the old charm the room needs to be updated. We were also a bit disappointed with the food or lack of it when we came to breakfast. I think you would want to know how we felt.

The Beach House was one of the best B&B locations we have ever visited and included the sumptious breakfast and other amenities that the historical inn offers - the best of both worlds. The staff was exceptionally accommodating and hospitable.

We recently stayed at the St. Francis Inn for a weekend getaway and I will never stay anywhere else on future visits to St. Augustine! It is a perfect location and the off street parking is such an added bonus!!! They have wonderful accommodations, beautiful ambience, great amenities and an absolutely wonderful and friendly staff who even took the time to research a specific store on their computer for us and put the coffee on extra early for us one of the mornings! We all felt so relaxed and comfortable. It was a perfect weekend and a perfect place!!

To me, the St. Francis Inn and St. Augustine go hand in hand... one inextricably connected to the other. The inn itself is of historical significance and has charming rooms of varying descriptions. I like to try a different room each time I visit. To visit the inn is to step back in time. Regardless of the room you choose, you will feel at home. The innkeepers are nice and all the staff is courteous. In short, many of the wonderful memories I have of this most unique city include the St. Francis Inn. I've stayed in many B&B! In several different Historic districts. St. Francis Inn surpasses them all. The staff is SOOOOOOOOO friendly and ready to help or answer any questions! I love the bicycles to enjoy the town! The food is beyond fabulous and they'll even share the recipes!! Woohoo!

Since my only experience with Bed And Breakfasts was through the romanticized versions in movies, I really wasn't sure what to expect at St.Francis Inn. It turned out to be an amazing experience, and I've already booked another stay there.

I was searching for a place in florida to visit and I had been told by many people St Augustine is very quaint town to visit. Well I searched and bed and breakfast places came up and then I started reading reviews. Well of all the B&B in the area St Francis Inn had the best reviews... Well they were not wrong from the very pleasant check in to seeing the Saffron Suite I was totally hooked the various services that they provide my boyfriend and I felt like we were the King and Queen for our stay. I totally enjoyed the town and I felt like a tourist and yet when I came back to St Francis Inn throughout the day I felt special and relaxed. I loved the Breakfast and the social hour was so very nice and what can I say about dessert time YUMMY!. Thank you for making my vacation awesome and I honestly can't wait to go back because I will most certainly be planning a long weekend in the winter time. NormaJean and Joshua

We've never stayed in a B&B and I thought we'd start with the oldest established Inn there in St Augustine. We were not disappointed from the moment we parked. Quant and Quiet. Wonderful staff. My family recently spent three nights at the St. Francis Inn (8/4/09) and absolutely LOVED it! Our daughter's (15 & 12) can't wait to go back too. A peaceful location, yet close enough to walk to the center of historic St. Augustine. They have plentiful parking, a beautiful courtyard, pool, free bikes and the use of lounge chairs, towels and a private bath/shower and parking area at the nearby beach. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the food divine. This was our first Bed & Breakfast experience and we are totally hooked! Can't wait to return this coming winter for a long weekend.

We destressed in the comfort of this charming inn for two nights and did not want our stay to end. There was a Heavenly, peaceful feeling that surrounded the Inn and we could feel it as we arrived at guest parking only for the peace to overflow within us at the entrance. We were greeted by Bev, an inkeeper, and she greeted us with a lovely smile. Bev was a joy to talk with during our stay. Bev took us up to our room, "The Elizabeth Suite." Our suite was charming and comfortable and we could hear the sound of the horse carriages as they drove past. At night we could see the flashes of cameras from the ghost tours. The Inn is said to be haunted although we did not see any apparitions. It would have been nice if we did. Happy hour was fun with complimentary wine which we enjoyed. We also enjoyed a yummy breakfast of 5 Cheese Strata and Cranberry Oatmeal. Coffee, teas, and delicious cookies were always on hand. We were given complimentary tickets to the lighthouse. The Inn also has an extensive movie collection if you feel like watching a movie. The coutyard of the Inn is filled with the beauty of St. Francis statues, plants, flowers, Koi fish pond, and Zeke the cat is their to make it all complete. We enjoyed swinging and rocking on the porches. We could not have asked for better hospitality from all the innkeepers. We could tell the innkeepers wanted us to be happy! We are so happy that we chose the St. Francis Inn and hope to visit again soon!

after staying for three nights at what they call their best room we couldn't wait to leave. Our room was over the dining room and from 7:30 AM to late at night it was so noisy we had trouble sleeping. The lady who checked us in was very rude and we felt uncomfortable. We won't be back!!!!!!!!!

It was my first time at a B&B, and it won't be my last. The staff knew us by name. We purchased the 'Savor the Flavors' package. Great dining package if you don't know what restaraunts to choose. We stayed in the Ballarina room. Very comfortable. Loved the balcony and courtyard. We also loved the courtyard and balcony. Great location. We parked the car and didn't have to move it for 3 days. Historic St Augustine was only a few blocks away.

Our stay at the St. Francis was wonderful! We decided to stay an extra night. The staff is outstanding and Joe (owner) is always around and very accessible to speak to. I can not say enough about the service, from check in to check out someone was always there to help. I walk with a cane and Carolee went out of her way to tray my breakfast and help me to the courtyard to enjoy. Bev, George and I just love you!!! Joe has top notch employees on his staff who love the inn and it's guests. Chef makes a mean latte!!! Thank you Chef for all of them! Our room was SPOTLESS, you can walk barefoot and not be afraid. Growing up in Florida, there are many sights and scents that make me happy and content. At the St. Francis Inn, which I discovered six and a half years ago, all these memories come alive in the tranquil garden courtyard, the overly-soft and comfortable beds, the romantic whirlpool tubs, and the bench swings on the porches. The owners are always sincerely amiable and meet your every need. The rooms/suites are well kept and immaculate. Any food served tastes amazing, always above average standard. The many "perks" offered to the Inn's guests make the stay complete... I return every year to the St. Francis Inn. It has become a special escape from the every day! I recommend this Inn to everyone, and will continue to do so!

I've been comming to St. Franicis Inn for 3 years this year will make the 4th. I always enjoy mt stay the people are great and thier Boss Zeke is wionderful greats his favorite customers I couldn't ask for a better place to stay I recomend this Inn to everyone!

Larger than normal B&B (at least for us) but still better than a hotel and very nice. It's on the edge of this historic district and very quiet at night.

This is a first time stay at a bed and breakfast, and St. Francis was terrific. They had a social hour, free wine or beer. And later a desert hour, which we missed as we were relaxing in the hot tub for about 3 hours. We got complementery tickets to the St. Augustine lighthouse, and I walked to the top. The Inn offers bikes to ride around town, and their court yard was relaxing and peaceful. It was fantastic. My wife and I are already planning to go back again next year.

We took our 5 adult kids , along with their significant others for a 2 night stay at the St. Francis for a mini family get away. This was the first time in 16 years we had them all together for a vacation. The Inn exceeded their expectations in every aspect! We were all able to eat together, enjoy the beautiful courtyard, enjoy the nearby historical sites, and enjoy the pool. The food was excellent, even my son-in-law, who is a chef, had nothing but compliments on the food. The staff was exceptional in making sure everyone had everything they needed and went out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. My husband and I have been going there for several years for mini getaways and decided to expose our kids to the bed and breakfast experience for this trip. They all want to return on their own for this truly unique experience, and all of us want to thank the Inn and their staff for an unforgettable time with nothing but happy memories in every single aspect. First time for a B&B (children are finally old enough and well-behaved), and we can't wait to do it again! Although the "pickins" were few that allowed children, we chose the best! The Inn was lovely, making us feel right at home, and the location was superb!

We spent a 4-day weekend at the St Francis Inn over Thanksgiving (also our anniversary). The staff could not have been nicer. Our room was lovely and they even had a small flat screen tv. The food was great and location very convenient. We were able to walk to most everything. Definitely would buy the 3-day train ticket (you can pick it up at The Old House around the corner). With the exception of the first evening, we left our car parked and walked or took the train. For the uninitiated, St. Augustine has narrow one-way streets and little parking. It was so nice not to have to think about it. The courteous and friendliness of the staff just added to a very relaxing and enjoyable weekend.

The room was beautiful, complete with the antique decor to the flat screen TV. The service from owner and staff was personable and friendly. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Due to an unfortunate incident, 1 of our rooms had to be changed. However, the move was pleasant and exceeded our expectations. We were made to feel at home. Everything is convenient, including parking, a rare thing in St. Augustine.Thank you for a perfect stay!!!

We stayed at the St. Francis Inn in December. The inn is within walking distance to Old St. Augustine and has free parking right across the street. The breakfast(s) were very good. The service and people at the inn were very nice.

We have stayed at St Francis Inn many times over the past 20 years and it is still the best. Our last visit was the middle of dec 06 for a much needed get away. Their gift is Hospitality and it done with such flair. The staff are all wonderful, friendly and helpful. The food is delicious with a wonderful chef who knows what works. Had room service one morning and it was over the top. Plus you can have a massage therapist come to your room for a relaxing massage. Returning guests get a bonus with percentage off too! Lots of complimentary wines and gourmet teas and coffee. You must visit soon and fall in love with St Francis Inn.
