    Martin pescatore è un molto confortevoli e ben arredate bed and breakfast base per escursionisti, festival-frequentatori e i turisti che viaggiano per la bella città di Hay-su-Wye. La casa è un mix di conforto delle vecchie mura di pietra (fresco in estate, bella e accogliente in inverno) e travi e vittoriano di proporzioni al piano di sopra. Esso è cresciuto haphazardly nel corso dei secoli e ora è una forma peculiare e piacevole, con abbondanza di angoli tranquilli e pacifiche posti a sedere. Martin pescatore House ha due ospiti suite, due doppie e situato accanto alla vicenda. Recentemente arredato e decorato, sono confortevoli e luminose, con abbondanza di luce e con camere recentemente rimodernate doccia. Suite dispongono di ampio e fresco biancheria da letto, asciugamani e articoli da toeletta e una televisione / DVD combinazione. Siete benvenuti a prendere in prestito DVD da salotto ospite a guardare a letto. C'è un vassoio per il vostro uso di tè e caffè, troverete il regolamento PG Tips ma anche Earl Grey, Herbal Tea, cioccolata calda e caffè. Gli ospiti hanno l'uso di un superbo salotto con travi a vista, con un grande registro bruciatore, belle immagini, masse di libri e boardgames, Freesat televisione e una vasta selezione di musica e DVD. Divani sono squashy e slouchy, l'illuminazione è tenue e l'atmosfera è rilassata e informale. Prima colazione viene servita nel nostro Dining Hall, intorno a una tabella di grandi dimensioni. Ci serve il tradizionale inglese, preparato dal nostro chef residente prima colazione, Malcolm, o se avete voglia di qualcosa di più leggero provare le nostre selezioni continentali, tra cui la composta di frutta di Jools speciale ricetta, yogurt locale e granola casalingo, focaccine e pane, accompagnata da caffè e tè appena fatto. Ci sarà qualcosa di lanciare un appello a tutti. Venite a gustare la migliore ospitalità rilassata, una grande prima colazione, dolci fatti in casa e letti confortevoli.

    Our stay at the Kingfisher's house we enjoyed very much. Malcolm and Jools have welcomed us very warmly. Even the good recommendations for the environment and the restaurants were great. The location is ideal for exploring the surrounding area. Thomas, Karin, Jan and Myriam from Germany

    Delightful and welcoming

    This stay was one of the highlights of our trip atound the UK. All services offered were given, plus. we were made very welcome and were shown the hospitality and warmth of friendship. Our guided trip around the countryside was extra-ordinary, the views from the hills very beautiful and the cider at the pub in the hills, fantastic. The whole family are great hosts inckuding Bindy, the English Springer. All that we can add is a huge 'Thank you'' and definiyrly value for money.

    We (2 adults, one 5-year old) were made to feel completely at home by Jools, Malcolm and Rowan. Definitely the best B & B we've stayed in for a long time. Very well placed for walking into Hay (2 minutes) and the beautiful border countryside in the region. Excellent breakfast too!

    We stayed at Kingfisher House during the literary festival, and were very impressed. Mal and Jools know just how to make you feel welcome! We had a truly wonderful stay, and they made us feel at home right from the start. Great people!

    Kingfisher House is a thoroughly charming place to stay. Spotlessly clean, wonderfully comfy, warmly welcoming and with the most delicious food. I will certainly be back and will be recommending Jools and Malcolm's hospitality to all my family and friends. Thank you J&M for providing a cosy haven from the snow!

    Wonderful home away from home

    We stayed at Kingfisher house for 3 nights and couldn't have been happier with the very British service that we received. Our room was lovely - decorated in sunny and warm rust colors. The living room was very quaint with wooden beams and a roaring fire, and had some very nice artwork and old military artifacts. The dining area was bright and welcoming. We got very lost on our drive to Hay-on-Wye so it was quite late when we arrived but Malcolm and Julia couldn't have been more accommodating. The full English breakfast the next morning was delicious, as was the wonderful afternoon tea (my first time using a real tea pot!). Julia is quite the baker! The center of Hay-on-Wye is a short walk up the hill from the house and is absolutely enchanting. It is a must-visit for anyone remotely interested in literature and old/antique books. There is literally a bookstore for every genre you can imagine, including a bookstore dedicated to nothing but books on crime and mystery (my personal favorite). Even the castle in the center of town is a bookstore! There is also a lovely walk along the river that starts right across the road from Kingfisher House and ends, via a circuitous route, in the center of town. Malcolm even kindly let us borrow the resident dog, Ben, who was very happy to demonstrate his remarkable agility and swimming abilities! We greatly missed our furry friends during our travels and Ben was very happy to let us adopt him, albeit temporarily! We were quite sorry to leave and promised we would be back again next year, this time during the Hay Festival that everyone raved to us about! To be honest, our stay at Kingfisher House was so much more fun and restful than the remainder of our visit to England which was spent with relatives (but please don't tell our relatives that!). Can't recommend highly enough.
