If you have your own car, this B&B might suit you. If you do not have your own car, consider something closer to town. From this suburb (Sabanilla) a taxi ride into the center of town (about 6 km/3.6 miles) takes 10-15 minutes (on a weekend morning) and costs US$8. Double that for one round trip per day and your US$25 - $30 cost for lodging rises to $41-$46/day for lodging and transportation, which is about what a decent hotel room costs in the center of town. For US$45-US$60 you can have a full-on modern hotel room rather than being in a small room in the back of someone’s suburban house stuffed with two twin beds, a small nightstand and a 12 inch color TV with no remote. Lat/Long location: N 9° 56’ 55”, W 84° 2’ 20”

Last summer I was on a mission trip to Costa Rica. Due to some confusion, my contact was not at the airport to pick me up when I arrived in Costa Rica at around 9:30 at night. I, an 18-year-old girl on my own with only four years of high school Spanish, was pretty worried, and I didn't know what to do. Then Madeleine, the owner of B&B Madeleine, approached me and very graciously offered her bed and breakfast for the night because her intended guest had not arrived on his plane. She took me to her comfortable and safe-feeling home where I stayed for the night, and in the morning provided me with delicious breakfast, great conversation, and a taxi to the bus station. It was comfortable, affordable, safe, and clean. I highly recommend it.
