We stayed in the Lang room for a night and got a wonderful family atmosphere experience. The food was great, the room was nice, but the innkeepers were what made the stay special. Jim's knowledge of the decor was fantastic and his ability to snip a tale rivaled the best of them. We'll definitely be back and will try a larger room. It was nice, but a bit tight with the giant bed.
Beautiful old home, friendly innkeepers in a great location for a good value.
Enjoyed a stay in this beautiful historic home. Location is great for seeing the sites of downtown Denver. Hosts were a delightful family who made us feel at home and were helpful as far as suggesting places to eat and things to do. Feel it is a good value for a downtown stay. Enjoyed the complimentary tea and sweets as well.
This B&B was the start of our 5-state and 9-night road trip. We began this trip in utter luxury. From the comfortable bed, beautiful décor throughout the home, friendly staff, delicious home-baked cookies that accompanied teas in the evening and nighttime, to the helpful and informative hosts, we couldn't have been happier or more content. I wish we could come back to see the garden in full bloom. I loved the stained glass and the staircase. You should spend some time looking around this beautifully restored home. Off-road parking and quiet neighborhood add to the attraction of this B&B.
We stayed in Castle Marne for our wedding anniversary in the Tower Room. It was spacious, comfortable, and delightful. We seek out places with character and charm. Places to make memories, not just places to get a night's sleep. Castle Marne was wonderful and the innkeeper was like a friendly character from an old movie. Highly Recommended.
First off the shortbread cookies are the most amazing things I've ever eaten... I love the tea times throughout the day! The staff is extra friendly and very helpful with recommendations on things to do around in the area. Will come back here on future visits!!
I stayed at Castle Marne in Denver during a business stay in September 2012. The "castle" is outstanding and the history and restoration is just wonderful.
The food and service was excellent and I would recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone wanting to stay at a beautifully restored home built over 100 years ago....complete with an English Garden.....I'll stay there again.....JoBeth
We were in Denver for two night and rather then stay at a hotel, we gave Castle Marne a try. What a gem!
The rooms were cozy and well appointed. The owners and staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast, tea services and evening cookies were amazing. The location was exactly where you want to be - within a short walk from almost everything in the city you'll want to see and if you have a car, parking on the street is easy. And, the price was less than you'd expect to pay for such a place.
All the above would be enough of a reason to return, but the kicker is the building itself. This place is a piece of Denver history and is such a star.
Unless you have to be at a certain hotel for a conference, give this place a try.
We only had a brief stay but wish it had been longer. The property is incredible -- so hard to believe it used to be a single family home.We stayed in the room with the private jacuzzi on the balcony, which was a nice treat. (The bed is a little small in that room so be aware if you have two large adults). The house is on a quiet neighborhood street, but there are several great restaurants and bars nearby. The hosts treated us like family. When we had to leave before breakfast, they made us fresh muffins for the road so we didn't go hungry. I'd highly recommend this property.
I was looking for something outside of another chain hotel for a recent visit to Denver. As someone who travels for business, hotels do not feel like home no matter how luxurious they can be. The Marne is first and foremost, a home. Outstanding innkeepers and incredible breakfast!
I stayed here one night using a bedandbreakfast.com gift certificate when my friend and I met in Denver. We stayed in the Raymond room because we knew we'd be hiking a lot and wanted to use the hot tub, plus it was affordable! Especially with the gift card.
The inn was in a great location! Walking distance from some great restaurants and close to a lot of great attractions.
The innkeepers were so friendly, nice and funny. We had a great bunch at breakfast who were all very interesting and chatty. And we had a GREAT breakfast! The food was wonderful right down to the edible flowers. I would love to come back if I'm ever in Denver again!
The castle is a beautiful, romantic place that helps you step back into history. The furishings and decorations remind you of a time long ago when things were simplier. The innkeepers were very attentive and accomodating to all our needs. The accomodations were excellent and so was the food. A perfect place to stay to get away from it all.
Very charming B&B. The staff is very friendly, helpful and charming. The breakfast is great. They provide tea and cookies in the afternoon, and you can sit or in their lovely garden.
We stayed in the Raymond Room, which has a private balcony with a hot tub. The hot tub was great, but the room was very little, so we felt a bit cramped. We had to coordinate our sleep, turning in the same direction at the same time to avoid bumping knees. Other than that, the stay was great. Walking distance from good restaurants, nice ambiance.
We loved the Castle Marne and its owners! Everything was beautiful and perfect for our 35th anniversary. Melissa gave us tips about where to go and what to see and she even made reservations for us! We felt right at home. They go the extra "mile high" by serving tea at 5 and night-time tea.
We were looking for a different way place to celebrate our 30th anniversary and the Castle Marne was the perfect choice. They really made it extra special. Our hosts made us feel at home and was hard to leave.
This outstanding show home from the 1880's is just minutes from downtown Denver. The Van Cise room had a private hot tub on the balcony with a queen bed and private bath. The innkeepers were top notch and the food offered was delicious! Would definitely go again.
My husband and me stayed in May this year at the wonderful Castle Marne. We were greeted warmly welcomed by the owners of the stunning historic and beautiful building that is so lovingly and detailed prepared, and they have done the best that we feel homelike. It feels like being on a journey through time. The rooms are comfortable equipped and clean. Breakfast and tea cakes were so delicious that I absolutely had to have the recipe book to take a bit of Castle Marne to Germany. The charm and the whole atmosphere of the Castle Marne will be unforgettable. If we come back again to Denver, the Castle Marne is our first choice, and we can highly recommend it. We thank the entire family Peiker for the wonderful time.
It was our first trip to Denver and we couldn't have wished for a better introduction to the city. Our Castle Marne hosts were lovely: generous with their knowledge and time, and happy to share their wonderful stories about the area. It was a pure pleasure to stay in this beautiful old historic mansion. We hope to return for another stay soon!
This beautiful historic building has a great location for sightseeing in Denver. The whole
family contributes to running the inn, and all are very helpful and service oriented. We stayed
in the Tower room. It was a little inconvenient having a bath down the hall, but I believe all
the other rooms have the bath en suite. A restaurant that was only 1 block away was suggested by the owner of the inn and it was fabulous. Defiinately have a meal at Il Posto
during your stay at Castle Marne.
My husband and I stayed at the Marne in March and had a wonderful time. The innkeepers are friendly and knowledgeable. They truly go out of their way to make you feel at home. The room was clean and comfortable. Keep in mind that there is no air conditioning. I am pregnant and we stayed on the third floor, so I was very grateful that it was cool enough overnight to open the windows.
We reserved the six-course dinner and enjoyed having the dinning room to ourselves. The food was delicious and we made sure to pick up a copy of their cookbook.
My daughter and I started our castle tour of Colorado close to home at Castle Marne. We had a wonderful stay... and plan to make it an annual tradition!
Greeeted warmly with luggage assistance to a 3rd floor room that made the climb easier-great dining advice-delicious tea with bedtime cookies-wonderful breakfast. Add the surroundings of a lovely neighborhood and beautifully restored Inn -- we've found our home in Denver!
This bed and breakfast is so wonderful, I'm extremely glad we chose it. We stayed for one night, and everyone there was very friendly. The afternoon tea was perfect, and breakfast was one of the best meals I've ever had. The castle itself and all of the rooms and decor are beautiful, and the family told us all about the history and art of the building. We stayed in the Raymond room, and the hot tub on the porch was great! If I ever need to stay in Denver again, it will be at the Castle Marne.
We had a wonderful time at the Castle Marne! Jim is a wonderful host and chief! The entire family is so sweet and gracious! The food is amazing! The afternoon and evening tea is fabulous! The atmosphere was so warm and welcoming! We felt right at home! They are also wonderful concierges with maps and coupons and info on when to go where and what great places to eat! Fabulous all around! I still want your recipe for Sour Cream Poppyseed Muffins! :) Blessings! Faith and David
My husband surprised me with a weekend at the Castle Marne. I highly recommend it. The people are friendly and helpful. We had a candle light dinner and the meal was fantastic. The only improvement I can see is breakfast. The eggs in the dish were a bit dry. Other than that we had a lovely time and it is close to 16th street (not walking distance). We will be back!!
Such a lovely, old, yet beautifully restored, mansion!

We found this beauty through Groupon and absolutely will recommend it to friends! The hosts were all so nice, the room was comfortable, the breakfast was delicious...what more can we say! They directed us to a gem of an Italian restaurant that was only a block away. The Tower room was roomy and even though the bathroom was just down the hall, it was our own private facility so no waiting in line! Very highly recommended!!

We chose the inn for its close proximity to the Denver Zoo and Botanical Gardens, and found even more to like in the immediate neighborhood.
Our two night stay was so enjoyable we may choose to go out of our way to stay there again on future visits to Denver.

My husband & I were definitely happy with our stay here. The location is awesome for downtown & sporting events. The staff was extremely friendly & knowledgeable about the area. Would look fwd to staying again.
Castle Marne was a very good experince. the stay was very confertable. i was directed to very good palces in the serounding area to visit and explor durning my stay in colorado. i will defenetly be staying in the same place again soon.
The owning family of this B&B exceeded our needs, always with a cheerful attitude and winning smile. It is obvious that they take great pride in maintaining this historic property, and love to share its history with their guests. The beautiful mansion has been painstakingly restored to its former glory based on old photos of the interior. Although the Raymond room, where we stayed, is rather small, it was comfortable, and a soak in the private balcony hot tub was a welcome amenity. The large portioned breakfasts were all delicious, and each plate even included edible flowers freshly picked from the on-site garden. We especially appreciate the hospitality shown by Melissa, Jim, and Louie Jr, who were the proprietors we had most contact with. We look forward to our next stay if we are ever in Denver again.
I just had the pleasure of staying here last week. The hosts were friendly and wonderful, and the rooms were great. They serve a quaint afternoon tea, and the breakfast was wonderful. If you are staying in Denver, I highly recommend this place as it was comfortable, very well priced, in a nice location of town, and the service is outstanding. I will definately stay here again the next time I am in Denver!
Castle Marne provides a pleasing blend of warm welcome, dedicated family service, in a quaint and inviting Victorian setting, with a fascinating history.

My sister and I had a wonderful stay at Castle Marne. The rooms were clean and comfortable the breakfast delicioius and the owners and proprietors were kind and helpful. Thank you Castle Marne for a memorable stay.
The host, Jim, was the perfect example of a host. Charming, kind, thoughtful and entertaining. He made the best carrot muffins I've ever had and I didn't even think I like carrot muffins! He even made a to go bag for my sister and I tied with a ribbon. We loved our room with the large bathroom, beautiful tiled fireplace and balcony with a hot tub. I wish we'd had more time to stay and chat with Jim. Loved the antiques and architecture as well. Amazing visit!
My husband and I recently traveled to Colorado from Arizona. Colorado is a stunningly beautiful state and we were impressed with the amazing scenery, cool temperatures and we loved the town of Denver. Hidden in the heart of the city is the most amazing B&B called Castle Marne. What a marvelous old place! Being a mystery writer, I'm always interested in experiencing new places and Castle Marne brims with charm, elegance and grace. I must find a way to work it into one of my novels! Our friendly hosts couldn not have been nicer, the breakfasts in the gracious dining room were simply scrumptious, our room was clean as a whistle and the comfy bed afforded us two restful night's sleep. We admired the beautiful paintings, wall hangings, antique furnishings and grandather clock. We very much enjoyed the tasty afternoon tea while listening to the calming strains of classical music in the backgound. Staying at Castle Marne was such a memorable experience for us that we plan to return again as soon as we can. The old castle is perfectly aged like a good red wine and we highly recommend it for a romantic getaway you'll not soon forget!

We stayed here for part of our honeymoon. When we arrived, we were upgraded to the Presidential Suite for free. The room was absolutely beautiful and the service was great. The staff was very friendly. Our breakfas the next morning was excellent. We felt very pampered and we will definitely be returning to the Castle Marne again soon and on future anniversaries.
My husband surprised me with this for Valentines day last year, and it was superb! It's also a haunted mansion! I didn't realize this until the middle of the night, when I woke my husband because of the super loud music being played in the other room. He heard it too, and went to talk to someone downstairs. There was no one there, but the music stereo was turned way up on old classical music. No one else in the entire place heard it, and the staff swear they left/turned it on. So! It was a marvelous place, with mystery and appeal! I'd highly recommend it!
