    Located on a quiet street near city´s famous ascensors, on the hill aptly name Bellavista(beautiful view). Its doors open to the Open Sky Museum. Atop the Inn´s facade of brick, wood and iron massive doors sits a structure looking at Valparaiso´s Bay and City. Its terrace offer spectacular views. It consists of 11 lavishly appointed suites including in suite rooms, penthouses and townhouse units. Its architecture combines the aging of a wine cellar dating back to the 19th century with a U shape elegant iron structure rival to Eiffel´s genius.

    Valparaiso Vineyard Inn Valparaiso Chile

    We stayed five nights, booked it ourselves based on the website and gave credit card for the deposit. Day 3 we were approached by the hostess who said we must pay now and in cash. We said we couldn't. We queried why and were told their credit card machine wasn't functioning.She said go to the bank and we refused saying it would cost us more money to take cash out on our card. A man called Philip arrived and repeated that we had to pay cash.We told him we couldn't. He called someone and we could hear this man shouting and swearing at Philip that it was not his problem. It was all very embarrassing and we felt threatened and intimidated. Philip said he would get back to us. A bit later we were asked to provide our credit card which Philip copied front and back and that document was faxed to Santiago and payment put through. We were asked to sign 2 different receiptsand were given copies. It left us worried as to what was charged to our card and no wifi available to check. No TV either. The breakfasts are terrible. Day 1:11/2 pieces of dried toast, diluted juice and it was made very clear that we got only one coffee each. Day 2 and 4 we got an omelette which wasn't bad. Breakfast isn't served until 9 a.m.so we had to miss day 3 as we wanted to do a tour which started early. The last day we got 2 pieces of dried toast. This Inn looks and sounds good on the web site but clearly does not live up to the web description and we were not the only ones fooled. All the guests we spoke with were disappointed. One couple who were on our cruise told us that they had to call the police the day before they left as they had had 250US$ stolen from their suitcase. The Inn has no in room safes. We would like to see this Inn investigated for misleading the public. Most guests are from other countries and have no way of knowing what they are really getting for their money. We would never recommend this Inn to anyone.

    Rooms were excellent and very clean and comfortable Access is in a difficult location and parking was on the street so also difficult Service was exemplary Value was acceptable
