Seal Cove Inn

This place is immaculate and amazing. We arrived late and the staff had a welcome package for us at the door. We happily made our way to our luxurious room and then to explore the gorgeous grounds. WOW! We were able to enjoy the flowering gardens a bit before the sun set and we were just in awe. It's a peaceful haven and so close to the ocean. After a delicious self-serve breakfast in the morning, we went down to the marine reserve for a walk and to explore the tide-pools. What fun! We wished we could have stayed much longer at this peaceful retreat. The only negative was that the lady at the front desk in the morning didn't seem to enjoy her job much. At other B&B's we've stayed at, the hosts have been inquisitive and bubbly. That was not the case here, but we still enjoyed our time so much.

After lots of research, I chose Seal Cove Inn for a short get away with my mother, and I am happy I did. Driving into the grounds of the Inn we were very plased with the secluded and charming Inn. The grounds and building are lovely - old world styling by the sea how can it get better? Seal Cove In met my expectations overall. I did exepect a lovely experience and was not disappointed. Our room was spacious, a bit understated in terms of decor, but very nice. The view out of our balcony was what we came for - overlooking the backcourtyard and onto the forest of cypress was breathtaking. We enjoyed the special touches; a bottle of wine in the in-room fridge and the fireplace ready to go for a cozy fire. The only part of the experience that was not on par was the breakfast. Unlike the generous and plentiful evening treats of fresh artichoke dip, cheese and breads, the breakfast was scant and not well hosted. When we arrived downstairs for our breakfast, along with another couple, it was awkward because there was not enough food left in serving dishes for us and no host/hotess there to greet us or let us know they would be serving more. More food was eventually brought out - and it was good - but the breakfast service in general could be improved. I will go back to Seal Cove Inn, this time for two nights. I am also now interested in visiting other Four Sisters Inn locations.

The staff was amazing....this is a well apportioned property. Very cozy, clean and welcoming. This was the perfect getaway and not very far from home....but it felt as though you were in another world....very relaxing. I highly recommend staying at Seal Cove.... We loved our stay and will be back again.

This was a great secluded inn with a beautiful walk through the trees to the ocean. It was a great place to get away from the crowds. The room was clean and nice. We would stay here again.

Our son and his fiancee rented Seal Cove Inn for their wedding this weekend and both families stayed for two wonderful nights. The atmosphere was very inviting and comfortable, the service exceptional, and the afternoon tea and hors d' oeuvres, plus the breakfasts, were very tasty and plentiful. Icy pitchers of water with cucumber slices, hot coffee and hot water with large choice of tea always available, as were fresh baked cookies. Wood fires were all set to light in rooms as well as in the large comfortable living room full of books and games. The 17 of us all agreed our stay couldn't have been nicer, and the atmosphere inside and out, the lovely garden complete with quail family, really contributed to a beautiful wedding! Although Saturday was cloudy and overcast much of the day, The sun broke through as we all sat on the terrace to watch their wedding vows. Perfect!

It was a wonderful weekend all though it rained most of the time. Electricity went out on Saturday night due to a storm but there wa a gallon of water and extra wood for the fireplace at the door the next morning. Lights went on at around 5 a.m. so extra supplies were not used. Very quiet and comfortable. Will stay again

The inn was relaxing and beautiful. We enjoyed the little quail families playing in the beatiful garden! The hike around the property down to the ocean was an adventure! Great special deals offered. Ballons were there to greet me for my birthday. Dinner at the Distillery was great.

What a fantastic find! We really, really loved our two nights there. The fireplace was fantastic and struck just the right note for a somewhat chilly evening. What a romantic ambiance this Inn has. Such a nice place to stay together, by yourself or to reach out and connect with other guests. Whatever you feel like, this place makes it possible. My wife and I celebrated a marriage anniversary here this weekend. We were blessed with sunny clear weather, so we did not try the wood-burning fireplace. But we thoroughly enjoyed everything else about this quiet, peaceful, out-of-the way inn. There is a lovely garden in back with footpaths and benches for enjoying the fresh air and birdsong. You can hear the ocean in the background at night if you leave the balcony door open a crack, and it is a short walk past tall cypress trees to a protected shoreline. Hiking along the bluffs and bike routes are nearby when you feel like stretching your legs. But it is also a pleasure just reading on your private balcony or in the bright and clean living room with peaceful background music. A VCR and DVD player in each room, with a plentiful video closet downstairs, makes for relaxing bed-based viewing. Historic Moss Beach Distillery is a short walk from the Inn and highly recommended for ocean view, atmosphere, drinks, and good food. More than enough other fine restaurants are within an uncrowded 10-mile drive along Highway 1. For those inspired to transplant to home a bit of the natural beauty abundant here, a small flower and plant nursery is right next door. The innkeeper told us that excellent live music is readily available each weekend evening in the local restaurants, but we just did not have time to partake during this two-night stay. But we will be back, since this delightful spot is such an easy drive from our home in the East Bay.

My husband and I stayed for one night hoping for a relaxing getaway, which is exactly what we got. For only being 30 minutes from the city you really escape the hustle & bustle of the city. The inn is a beautiful, romantic and serene place with contemporary country decor more like Pottery Barn than Grandma's. Our guest room had a view of the garden, complimentary sodas & bottle of wine, kindling for the fireplace, and cozy rocking armchairs with throws. The only complaint about our room is that the pillows are terribly uncomfortable. There isn't much to see of the town though we were content with walking the trails to the coast, tide pools and sea haul. At tea there was a yummy selection of snacks in the parlor. The parlor also has a selection of books, games and movies. We had dinner at Mezza Luna then returned back to our room for some wine & dominos. Though it was a cool evening my husband was worried the fireplace would make the room too hot. The fireplace provided just the right amount of warmth and even more ambience. I recommend asking for a second bundle of kindling, we wish we had! Breakfast consisted of Irish oatmeal, granola, yogurt, fruit salad, scones, hard boiled eggs, selection of breakfast breads and an artichoke quiche. I tend to eat a small simple breakfast so I was very content. My husband however is more of breakfast eater and was a little disappointed to not at least have any breakfast meats. Overall our stay was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It was fantastic to not have to drive 3 or 4 hours away for such a romantic escape!

My wife and I went to Seal Cove Inn and had a great time. The room we had was very spacious with a nice fireplace, sitting area, and view of their flower garden. The bathroom was a typical hotel bathroom; bathtub, sink, etc. It was always quiet while we were in the room so it felt very relaxing. They also had a closet full of vhs movies you could watch at your leisure, for free. The flower garden was nice with various paths, all of them ending in different areas with a bench seat in case you wanted to be alone. it also over looks the forest. you may be able to see the ocean from the 2nd floor rooms, but definitely not the first floor or the garden. the central area past the clerk's desk was very nice and spacious as well. The inn is in walking distance to the trails of the forest that run along the cliff, so you can get a great view of the ocean. you can also walk to one or two of the restaurants that rest on the cliffs (about 15 minutes to walk). The 2 things that I didn't much care for was the driveway and the food. the driveway is a hardpacked lime instead of concrete or asphalt. while this makes the inn look nice, it makes you regret washing your car for the weekend. it also becomes quite messy if it happens to rain while you are there. they use the same stuff for their gardens, so you definitely don't want to go barefoot in the back. the other thing i didn't much care for was the food. while it was good, it wasn't anything special. I guess being a guy who likes his breakfast to have more substance, eggs and fruit don't really do it for me. the afternoon snacks were great. My wife and I would love to go back since we live in the bay area, but they recently changed their policy to a 2 night requirements for weekends. Since we have responsibilities that don't allow for 2 nights, we won't be going back. It was such a nice place for a 1 day get away from the fast paced work life we lead in the bay area.
