  • Carter House Inns Video: The Carter House Inns is an enclave of 4 magnificent Victorians perched alongside Humboldt Bay at the gateway to Eureka's historic district. The Carter House Inns and Restaurant 301(1998-2008 Wine Spectator's Grand Awards) have been welcoming travelers since 1981. Each Inn is distinctively designed and graciously appointed. Guest rooms feature antiques, private baths and luxuriant amenities soothe the soul and delight the senses. Marble fireplace, whirlpools with marine vistas, immense 4-poster beds and generous honor bars hint at the myriad. Dinner at Restaurant 301 is truly a celebration of the senses. Our gardens provide herbs and fresh vegetables for the chefs.

    Nurture your adventurous side during your visit to the Redwood Coast. The North Coast Adventure Centers is the area’s leader in guided outdoor adventures. We’ll set up a Redwood Canopy Tour with them for you and your partner to venture 70 to 100 feet up into the tops of the Majestic Redwoods in Arcata’s Redwood Park. You’ll begin with some basic safety training on maneuvering through the canopy. Then, you will ascend in to the beautiful Redwood Canopy to ride a series of ziplines. This fun and adventurous tour is the perfect way to challenge yourself while enjoying the Redwood Coast! This Package Includes: One night’s stay in a Really Nice Room, 2 Redwood Canopy Tour Tickets, a champagne toast for two, Wine and Hors d’ Oeuvres in the evening, Cookies and Tea in the evening and a full breakfast. Price $400 (Must be at least 12 years old and over 5 feet tall to participate)

    The Carter Cottage is the most luxurious property. This turn of the century victorian was renovated by the Carters in 1997. Decorated in bright sunny colors and a simple but gracious style is reminiscent of the Victorian -Colonianl era. The Carter Cottage features a deep marble spa tub, fireplaces in the sleeping and living areas, and a state of the art demonstration kitchen. The cottage is spacious, light and airy, and no imaginable amenity has been overlooked. The Carter Cottage also features an inviting large private deck with a wonderful view of Humboldt Bay.
