Our family of 12 had a wonderful time at the Imperial Hotel. The staff was so friendly and they went out of their way to make us feel at home. The food was great and the rooms were clean and well maintained. We definitely are going to make this an annual event. Thank you!

We intended to stay here while we toured nearby wineries but we had so much fun we stayed close to the hotel the whole weekend, for breakfast and dinner both nights. Hit a few wineries but had more fun at the hotel and walking in the area! Quaint, quiet, welcoming. There were a lot of us too!

We will have very good memories about the Imperial Hotel. The five course dinner was absolutely AMAZING! The French Toast served the next day was like I have never had, moist, with very good flavor. I have already referred all my friends and family. I will be back. Thank You, David Whitney

Since I have family in the Gold Country, I've been making a point to stay in a different old hotel in the area when I visit. The Imperial has been on my list for a while, and I finally stayed there over Thanksgiving this year. The owner and staff were all very nice and friendly. The hotel is well taken care of and has a lot of antique charm. I stayed in Room #1 which is a balcony room at the top left (facing the hotel). It's a good sized room with plenty of sun. The balcony is a real treat, great for sitting with coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at night as you look out over the town of Amador City. Part of the charm of these old hotels is the imperfections, and as long as you expect them, then your stay will be great. In this case, the mattresses could be better, but then I've been spoiled by my Tempur-pedic at home. The hotel is also pretty noisy; I don't mean the people are noisy, but the floors are creaky and the doors are squeaky. I love it, because reminds you that you are staying in a piece of history, but if you are a light sleeper, it could be a bit much. The bathroom and plumbing were are perfect, everything worked, hot water stayed hot, and everything was very clean. The room was furnished with a space heater and a hair dryer which made my wife happy. The coffee in the morning was very good. I will definitely stay again! Thanks for everything!

We stayed at the Imperial Hotel during a tour of the Shenandoah Valley wine country. The hotel is old and not very soundproof, and our room was tiny. Both room and private bath were spotlessly clean, there was plenty of hot water, and the bedding and towels were first-rate. Coffee was brought to our room in the morning, and breakfast in the dining room was excellent. All told, the service was good and the price was reasonable, particularly in comparison to other places in the area. We would stay there again, even though we did not get to see the much-touted resident ghost!

Perfect place to recharge your batteries while enjoying sterling service and priceless Gold County ambiance. Explore the small town then enjoy cocktails on the balcony. Eat dinner inside or outside depending on the weather.
