We visited Blue Agave B&B recently to escape the cold and snow of Minnesota, and we completely enjoyed our four-night stay! The Blue Agave is located outside of town at the edge of Saguaro National Park, and the private terrace gave us beautiful views of the mountains, saguaro cactus and starry nights. There is a trailhead just down the hill from the B&B, and taking the Yetman trail to an old stone house and back is a great hike. Our room was comfortable, colorful and nicely decorated, and we loved the quiet and privacy. The Blue Agave as a whole is spectacular and very inviting, with the beautiful pool (which we didn’t use this time) and the hot tub (which we did!). Dana and Peter were welcoming hosts, helpful with recommendations for local restaurants and sights, and their dogs (Happy and Loopy) added to the feeling of home. We especially enjoyed Pauline’s wonderful breakfasts and warmth. Our stay at Blue Agave B&B exceeded our expectations, and we will definitely be back! We found the perfect private romantic getaway for our son and new daughter-in-law after their wedding. Dana and Peter went out of their way to make it special for the new bride and groom and even let us in early to decorate .The Adobe Rose was a perfect honeymoon suite with a private balcony. The views are spectacular and it is so peaceful being in the middle of The Sonoran Desert. Fabulous sunsets. Could not have gotten anything better. The bride and groom were thrilled.

We stayed here for 4 nights in January 2014. It was wonderful. Dana and Peter are were such gracious hosts. It is very quiet but near the city. There is good hiking adjacent to the property. The property was very clean. The breakfasts were delicious. Dana and Peter were attentive but not intrusive. We would love to stay there again. We loved sitting in the sun and soaking up the peace and beauty of the place.

The views are amazing! The B&B is close enough to all of Tucson, yet out of the city where it is quiet, dark at night, and peaceful. The casitas are very charming. The best part are the wonderful proprietors, Peter and Dana, who make you feel like long term friends. I would love to stay here again!

An extremely quiet setting with views that are not to be believed! My husband and I had the most amazing breakfast of the Blue Agave's Famous Oatmeal Blueberry Waffles and their homemade granola. the hosts were two of the nicest people we have met. We look forward to visiting the Blue Agave Bed and Breafast again. I am already missing their wonderful dogs Happy and Loopy!

I was in need of a quiet location to complete some important work (and R&R) in the Tucson area; the Blue Agave was recommended by a good friend who resides nearby. For years I have seen and admired the setting and stunning structure of the former 'La Zarzuela' from afar on my trips to the Az-Sonoran Desert Museum and was overly pleased and fortunate to have the opportunity to stay. There is no place like this anywhere -there is something immediately special about driving up through the grand wrought-iron gates to this secluded, peaceful hilltop location overlooking a glorious, lush desert valley nestled in the Tucson mountains. The Blue Agave is majestic in all respects.Every view, every turn, every corner, every detail was spectacular and inspired a calm, euphoric feeling throughout my stay. a beautiful, colorful sunrise over the mountains and lush desert flora, feeling the warm sun on my private patio under the arms of a huge Saguaro, sitting with a steaming cup of delicious coffee..amazingly watching deer as two cactus wrens explored at my feet –what a wonderful way to start a day. The nights…a little fire in ‘my own’ chimenea…stars, owls and desert wildlife…so peaceful. The room was luxurious –intriguing art, a carved armoire, mesquite furniture, Tiffany lamp, the tile sink, decor -were all so well done and constantly pleasing. The hosts are wonderful welcoming people and add to the comfort of this amazing place. There is so much to explore within the home, courtyards, patios and the expansive grounds -one can find oneself easily wandering into the canyons and desert mountains of the adjoining park. Though so private there is easy access via a relaxing, meandering saguaro-studded road to nearby (~7 min) shopping or delicious ‘real’ cultural food. If you wish to truly experience the warmth and serenity of the Southwest in addition to the unique sensation of ‘belonging here’ the Blue Agave provides this and more. Highly recommended!

The Blue Agave B&B was truly an amazing desert experience. This gorgeous property is tucked away in the Tucson Mountains and offers absolutely stunning desert views. To be honest, my husband and I have never stayed in a bed and breakfast, so we weren't really sure what to expect. I was secretly afraid that it was going to be like having strange roommates for a few days, filled with awkward silences and sideways, uncomfortable glances. In the spirit of trying new things, however, we gave it a shot. And we were so pleasantly surprised, I will now be looking into B&Bs when we travel before we look into hotels. Dana and Peter were so fantastic to us, words cannot describe. They made us feel right at home, and gave us the privacy we wanted, but also the fantastic customer service that you expect in a five star resort. They are Tucson natives that can tell you anything you want to know about the area, and offer a variety of activities, no matter what your interests are. The property is full of Dana's beautiful artwork that is so unique, yet so fitting for the space. It's like their whole home is a museum you could spend hours in! Peter also works at the local University and has such a fascinating background, my husband was talking his ear off for a couple hours one night. Lastly, my big thing is cleanliness. I've spent enough time traveling on the east coast that I go straight for the bed to check for bed bugs when I'm staying in a hotel. Now, I know you don't necessarily need to worry about bed bugs as much in a hot, dry desert - but it's always worth a check! Our room was spotless. You can tell that Dana and Peter take great pride in their property, and it shows in the lovely design, cleanliness, and character of the guest rooms. Thank you again so much Dana and Peter! Next time we're in Tucson, we'll definitely be back!
