After staying in a Prescott hotel full of noisy kids, I decided to head on over to Sedona. I typed in "Sedona hotels" on my GPS and a bed and breakfast named Creekside Inn popped up on the screen. It was Monday afternoon and as I drove up to, the place was nestled away amongst some rustic homes. There were a few cars, and the place was quiet. I walked over to the office and an English Gent named Mark gave me a tour of the property while giving me a brief history of the place.
The decor was filled with handcrafted furniture and antiques. I stayed in the larger Victorian
Suite and being it was a weekday, Mark gave me a discount. The room was very clean
and the bed was large and comfortable. There was a large stone fireplace in the room
and a flat screen t.v. nestled inside an armoire. The room had a private patio and the bathroom had a jacuzzi tub and separate shower. The bath towels were folded in to decorative fan shapes. The little details like chocolates on the bed made me feel like royalty. I think this room was used often as a honeymoon suite. Too bad I was alone. Definitely a romantic getaway. The Creekside Inn would not be what it is if it weren't for the gorgeous areas by the creek. There are grassy areas for small wedding receptions and I spent the next day relaxing and meditating outdoors. Arizona Highways Magazine was shooting photos the day I was leaving. Breakfast served was pastry, parfait, orange juice, coffee (or tea), waffle and meat patties. The owner offered to reheat my entree when I stopped eating to chat with the other guests. Children are not allowed which made this place especially quiet and peaceful.
The room rates were a little more than I expected before my discount, but was well worth every penny. This Bed and Breakfast was a real gem and the beauty of the creek only adds to it's charm.
I will be back, but next time, for a romantic getaway.
Marvellous, quiet and picturesque situation in Sedona itself, this bed and breakfast is managed by Mark and Tammy (they do not live on-site) in a highly professional yet friendly and caring way. They are both haute-cuisine lovers; this is reflected in the superb breakfasts. The rooms are large, en-suite and full of character. They look out either at the secluded gardens via their own private patios or at the Mountains of Sedona. Added bonus; the couple also own Dan's Bistro, home of truly international cooking in a casual atmosphere, with knowledgeable friendly service; not licenced, bring your own wine for a really excellent experience.
Stayed in Sedona one night at the Creekside Inn and had a wonderful time. Was given excellent directions and suggestions on what to do in the town. The next day we had a great breakfast and took pictures of the snow from the night before in the Inn's back yard. What to do for the day was tough because the weather was not good for a jeep ride or hiking. The recommendation by our hosts was a side trip to Jerome which was terrific. From there, we went back to Scottsdale. Thank you again.
