The host and hostess are very nice. They provide tourism information and valuable suggestion.
The building is beautiful. Very clean.Nice deco. Would be nice to have a bit more furniture.
It was pouring one night, I had to put on raincoat just to walk to the bathroom. That was not fun.
Also, after 6pm, the office is closed Sometimes, it's not very convenient for guests.
But overall, I enjoyed the stay. We stayed 4 nights, instead of 2 as we planned.
The best part about this wonderful old style B and B was the location and the helpfulness and friendliness of the owners. Graham and Brenda who were always willing to help out even with difficult problems we could not sort out with an airline and other accommodation due to us not being able to speak Spanish. They went out of their way to help with phones calls.
The rooms were more basic than we were expecting but good value for cost. Unfortunaetly it was very hot when we stayed and the fan was struggling to cool the room at night. The breakfast in the huge dining/tango dance room was delicious
I stayed in 'Los Patios' during the first weekend of February 2011 (summer in Argentina). Graham and Brenda are excellent guests and you immediately feel at ease in their house. The rooms are huge with very high ceilings and with a silent fan that is very helpful in the middle of summer! Wood floors in the rooms and the dining room, ceramic tiles in the patios everything is authentic and has a 'soul'. The hosts are ready to help you with touristic places to visit, security recommendations, find a taxi or how to take the subway. The breakfast is good with a proper choice of bread and pastries. Careful: the ceramics in the bathroom can be slippery when wet.
Great location, but private room was not private in summer
The Good: Los Patios is stylish, quiet and in a great location. Graham and Brenda were helpful with answering questions and were friendly. They also went out of their way to store food for us in their personal refrigerator and our passports in their safe.
The Bad: We stayed in a triple room with 3 twin beds. The room did not have a ceiling fan (as advertised on bedandbreakfast.com) or windows to the exterior and was unbearably hot with the doors closed. We slept all 6 nights we were there with the doors open, so that our room was not at all private. Had we not been there during the summer, we expect the room would have been a lot more comfortable. The mattresses were not great (we could feel all the springs). Soap and shampoo were not provided in our private bathroom, which is what I would expect in a hostel but not in a bed and breakfast.
[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] Everyone here at Los Patios were delighted to have you and your friends here for the six days you passed with us. We also had a good time spending a wonderful New Year’s eve with you here at the B&B. Your stay coincided with the celebration of our first anniversary and during the most expensive hotel season we especially priced your room for 3 with private bath at just $16USD per person. At that cool price we could not put you in a room with air conditioning but you did enjoy a room with a fan and an open window to our exterior patio, free Wi-Fi, free phone calls, our complimentary assorted breakfast and as well, toiletries are available at reception.
Is a nice place to stay, the service is really good, very well located and a pretty neat place. My only complain was the bed, quite unconfortable, and some security standars but I understand that is because the general situation of the city.
Anyhow was the place I expected. Beautiful and very Buenos Aires.

The Innkeepers Graham and Brenda are extraordinary nice and helpful, the rooms are big and clean and this bed and breakfast place has a very nice ambiance.
We stayed there in July with temperatures between 0 and 6 grade Celsius and there is only one negative point to mention: there is almost no heating ( like in many other places in South America!), so you have to wear very warm clothes in the breakfast room.

At a centenary building, the friendly owners created a pleasant and welcoming accommodation. Old rooms are being restored. An antique bathtub was installed in our room. Lack of sound insulation between rooms and bathrooms may create some inconvenience. Breakfast simple and fair.
We arrived at 3am; were welcomed by Graham and shown to an amazing room with such high ceilings with a super comfy queen bed. Reminded us of a Riad in Marrakesh. Everything starts late in B.A.; breakfast runs until 11.30am and dinner and tango start around 10pm! Los Patios is right in the centre of things. Graham and Brenda will help you plan your days and nights; and generally share culture and stories with you. We were only here for 5 nights and wished we could have stayed a bit longer.
Great value, super friendly proprietors, comfy beds.

I stayed at Los Patios for ten days in April. I was blown away by the gorgeous interiors, the high ceilings and the patios. The owners are very friendly and helpful, full of advice. I got to know them pretty well during my stay, and shared drinks and even some take-away on several occasions. Great people! Maybe most importantly, I slept extremely well on the very comfortable bed in the room. What a value - one of the cheapest places in the area, which is super-convenient to everything in BA.
I came across Los Patios by accident, but was certainly glad i did.
As soon as I saw the large open areas, high ceiling rooms and European old world atmosphere, I knew I'd found my base in B.A.
Graham and Brenda speak perfect English and treat you more like a friend than a customer. I especially liked the open skylight and wooden floors. A beautiful oasis in B.A.
After reading the glowing reviews we where very disappointed. We booked and paid in advance for 4 nights. 3 out of the 4 nights the bed was not made the bathroom and bedroom not cleaned. The towels and bedding where thin and smelly. the private bathroom consists of a room no bigger then the toilet it houses, the shower is next to the toilet and the draining system are just spaces in the wooden yes wooden slates. After every shower the toilet area is as wet as you are, since there is no propper draining system I leave the smell to your imagination. The only good thing I can say about the place is the closeness to the centre and the price. Graham and his wife are friendly but this not make up for putting up with sub standard accomodation. We had 6 weeks in Argentina and the first 4 nights where spend in Los Patios. The rest of our accomodation in Argentin was splendit.
[Resource Id: InnkeeperResponse, Set: reviews] We are grateful for all feedback we receive from our guests – both positive and negative. Since are opening this year, many of the best ideas for improvements have come directly from our customers. In fact we’ve recently put in shower curtains in the private bathrooms that keeps the rest of the bathroom dry.
As for housekeeping, we ask directly to all our guests if they wish their beds made and rooms cleaned. Likewise, we respect the privacy of those guests who don’t wish for us to come into their rooms during their stay.
Thanks again for all the kind words and great advice we’ve received from our guests!
A beatiful place to stay at the center of Buenos Aires. Location perfect to go to the several "bairros" of the city in few days. Kind innkeepers, always available for information and tips.
It was a wonderful stay. I love the building and all the advice and suggestions from Brenda and Graham. The courtyard was welcoming and the candles were bright!
nice setting; friendly hosts, wet toilet (floor) after shower...
The hosts were very friendly and helpful, everything met our expectations (which were high).
The only drawback of the private bathroom is that the shower is within the same room as the toilet and has no curtains or another barrier such that the whole floor and the toilet becomes all wet after a shower.
The nondescript entryway into this B&B does not do justice for this sanctuary in the city. The owners of the property are lovely people and go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. The rooms are comfortable and you feel at home when you are staying there. A simple but delicious breakfast is served to you outside of your room in the morning.
The location of this property is perfect for getting to know the city and is close to public transportation. I would recommend this place to anyone, and I will be returning when I return to Beunos Aires.
We stayed in a twin room in Los Patios de Montserrat over new year 2009/2010. I can thoroughly recommend it. It is in a beautifully restored mansion house (don´t be fooled by the very modern enterance off the street), with huge rooms, beautiful high ceilings and a lovely airy and atmospheric feel to it. Brenda and Graham are very welcoming hosts, the beds are superbly comfortable, and the location, right in Monterrat is great for wandering the city on foot.
