    So much better than a chain hotel!

    My newly-wed husband and I were traveling to our honeymoon destination, and we needed to stop half way and stay the night somewhere. I'm so glad we chose to stay at this Bed and Breakfast instead of a hotel! The location was downtown, so we explored the city a little bit. The owner was very nice and accommodating to our needs. The house was old, antique, formal, and very beautiful. Our room and private bath was very nice with the formal antique furniture. And it was just so nice not to be in a boring hotel room. And breakfast in the formal dining room was delicious!! We loved our stay at Cobb Lane Bed and Breakfast and recommend it!

    We stayed at the 2nd B and B owned by Sheila and her husband! The home Was beautiful! It was still under construction but I love seeing the transition! Everything was perfect! (If you ask my boyfriend breakfast could have been a larger portion). But aside from that he loved the stay too!

    First B&B Stay

    Sheila and Ira were wonderful hosts! Sheila ate breakfast with the guests, was very knowledgeable about the history of her beautiful home, and also was very helpful in giving guidance about what to do and see in Birmingham. The freshly baked cookies in the parlor and complimentary soft drinks and bottled water in the refrigerator were a nice touch. The rooms were attractive and very clean. It was very enjoyable to have breakfast with the other guests. Cobb Lane is within walking distance of the 5-Points area, which has several very good restaurants to choose from. CONS: Wifi connection in the rooms was spotty -- better downstairs in the parlor and dining room. Temperature in the rooms could not be controlled, so it was a bit hot upstairs for our June visit. (We like to sleep with the room fairly cold.) Breakfast on weekdays is at 7 AM. Since we were vacationing and not in Birmingham on business, this was a little early, and I did not check on this before booking the room. (Breakfast on Sat/Sun is at 8/9. They do give you the option of having breakfast served in your room, but we did not choose this option, since we wanted to dine with the other guests.) Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Cobb Lane. If we were to stay at a B&B in Birmingham again, we would definitely come back!

The house was old, antique, formal, and very beautiful. Our room and private bath was very nice with the formal antique furniture. And it was just so nice not to be in a boring hotel room. And breakfast in the formal dining room was delicious!! We loved our stay at Cobb Lane Bed and Breakfast and recommend it!

    Wonderful hosts. A beautiful home...superbly decorated! This was my 2nd stay. Because of my dietary needs (Gluten free, no meat) it's hard to feed me at breakfast. More B&B's could benefit by having food options.

    Exciting Trip to Carousel Land

    Very exciting stay. Met many interesting people. The preservation of the historical site was done with great taste. Owners, Sheila and Ira are very fascinating people. Their love of historic preservation is most wonderful. Ira's talent at carousel "horse carving" is quite a unique talent. And the display in their NEW B&B is beautiful. HIGHLY recommend for anyone in Birmingham to stay here. Close to everything Birmingham!

    Pretty amazing little gem with a perfect location. Interesting decor and inviting staff. I fell in love within in moments of entering. If your looking for modern then your in the wrong place. If your into time machines then please step right through this door.
