    Great Value

    I stayed at the Halcyon Heights B&B for 5 nights in May 2013 & had a wonderful time. I wanted an active week. Though I was traveling single (harder to line up activities as most have a 2-person minimum), Juxia was able to use her contacts to connect me with guides, water taxis and tours to get me kayaking in Peterson and China Poot Bay, out to Seldovia and hiking several trails in Kachemak Bay State Park. They also provided great tips on local restaurants (good and not so much) and sights to not miss for both my active and artistic interests. The view both over my sumptuous daily breakfast and from my deck was awesome, further enhanced by the local moose and smaller wild life. It was a great value and I won't stay anywhere else next time I'm in Homer.

    great place, great people

    Halcyon Heights is a great place to stay. The room was very comfortable, quiet, with a private bathroom and great view. It also has a private entrance. The hosts are very warm, friendly, knowledgeable about the local area, and also about what to see, where to eat, and what to do. The breakfast food was awesome. They made us feel very welcome. I would definitely stay there again.

    Memorable Beauty

    Imagine a road winding up the side of a mountain to your destination for the evening. You park, get out and turn around. The extravagant beauty touches you at an emotional level as you take in one of the most pristine and breathtaking vistas you will ever see in a lifetime--ice-fields, glaciers, snow-capped mountains ringing the horizon, an exquisite expanse of ecologically rich ocean waters, and a brave little Alaska town extending out into it all far below. Then you go inside and discover hosts who treat you as far more than mere customers. Juxia and Stephen seem (oddly enough in our increasingly corporate culture) to find genuine delight in serving their guests, going the extra mile to prepare a gourmet breakfast, offering very good advice whenever solicited, and making calls to ensure your reservations at the best halibut restaurant in town or to get the last seat on a Cessna plane flying right into nearby bear country the next morning. They also direct you, because you asked, further up the mountain where, quite serendipitously, there sits amid flowers and plants an exquisite little Eastern Orthodox chapel literally covered, ceiling to floor, in golden beauty and sacred artistry. Perched with a commanding view of the entire region, it offers a feast for the senses and the soul. It is not in most tourist guides, but your hosts knew about it, and ensured you didn't miss it. It would be a shame to hurry through Homer. It is a place to slow down and re-center. It would be just as great a shame to book your accommodations anywhere else than at the Halcyon Heights with Stephen and Juxia.

    Great Value

    40th wedding anniversary trip

    What a view! How many people can say they wake up to coffee on the deck overlooking a glacier and the Homer Spit? The interior is a virtual kaleidescope of furnishings and colors. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful and visiting with the hostess and the other guests is always so interesting. Juxcia, our hostess was such a cheerleader for Homer an all of Alaska, and had great information for sights, places to eat, and things to do. It was easy to fall in love with the area.     Fantastic Vacation in Alaska

    After becoming frustrated in my efforts to plan our trip myself, I contacted Juxia. I told her what I had in mind and she worked diligently to secure reservations at some great B&B's, the bus trip into Denali, the ferry and a rental car for us. We were treated royally at Summerset B&B, Ridgetop Cabins, Townsite Gardent, Hart D Ranch, Brookside Inn, Halcyon Heights and Harborview Inn. Gourmet breakfasts and fellowship with the hosts and other guests was so very special. We always felt that we were among friends. We have wonderful memories and an abundance of outstanding pictures of the vacation of a lifetime.

    Homer visit

    Two week trip to Alaska touring Anchorage, the Kenai peninsula, Whittier, Valdez, and Denali. Spent two days in Homer taking in the sights and visiting the Norman Lowell Gallery. We found Halcyon Heights to be the ideal base for our Homer visit. Comfortable, friendly, very pleasant, knowledgable, professional and high quality explain our experience there. We would stay there again.

    The Poetry of Homer

    Two old men, visiting Alaska for maybe the last time were directed by the Homer Visitor Bureau to Halcyon Heights B&B. Separate bedrooms, separate bathrooms, beautiful views, no noisy distractions. VERY CLEAN! Host considerately asked us WHAT we would like for breakfast. Food was expertly prepared and in acceptable quantity. Useful advice given regarding proposed sightseeing activities of the day. We stayed two nights.
