Boreas Bed and Breakfast Inn was originally a beach house built in the 1920's. Expanded into a B&B in 1991, Boreas is spacious, light, bright and full of incredible detail from the fresh flowers in the rooms to the beautiful linens, chocolate brownies, award-winning breakfasts and romantic privacy. The large living room at Boreas Inn faces the ocean and views of the gardens and dunes. A white Baby Grand Piano beckons a player, the extensive CD collection provides entertainment as well as an assortment of games. The furniture is casual, yet elegant and makes for extremely comfortable lounging.
Boreas Inn's owner/innkeepers, Susie Goldsmith and Bill Verner, play on Long Beach near the Inn with the North Head in the background. With dramantic views of the dunes, grasses and ocean, vibrant gardens, 3-course 9:30 am breakfasts, fresh flowers, lush beds for a dreamy night's sleep, Boreas is a dreamy way to unwind and celebrate life! This is a broader view of The Dunes Suite, a light and glorious guest room that invites you to be very lazy. Luxuriate in the jetted bath tub, sleep better than you have in years in all the Boreas beds!
After walking out our private path to the ocean, an over 2.5 mile paved Discovery Trail (named for the Lewis and Clark Expedition) awaits you, as well as a half-mile long raised wooden boardwalk. Boreas property adjoins a 28 mile-long beach. Walk down to the articulated whale skeleton and north to Clark's Tree, a 20 foot high replica of the tree William Clark carved his initial in on November 19, 1805 during the Expeditions exploration of Long Beach. The kitchen at Boreas is a busy place in the morning! Susie and Bill are often entertained by guests taking photo's and watching them prepare breakfast every morning. Boreas even has their own coffee, the Boreas Blend, with French, Italian and Espresso beans, from Royal Blue Organics' Cafe Mam. The kitchen and dining room are open, so the breakfasts are a true celebration of fun and gourmet preparation!
Boreas Inn features a three-course brunch at 9:30 am every morning. Triple Berry Fruit Soup is one of Susie's favorite fruit entrees to prepare. Cranberries (the peninsula grows about 5 % of Ocean Spray's Cranberries!), raspberries, blueberries and marionberrys are simmered in apple juice with fresh lemon, lime, cream and cinnamon comprise the soup and the dish is complemented with fresh raspberries and blueberries with a garnish of home-grown chocolate mint and a tiny bit of heavy whipped cream for a garnish. A delicious start to an amazing breakfast!A single key, a candle in the window and a spacious view of the dunes, gardens and the ocean in the background make for a unique and very private special occasion in the Spa at Boreas Inn. Eagles, osprey, deer and even the occasional elk might be spotted from the tub! It's a great way to see a sunset--or sunrise for that matter!
The Stargazer is a light and bright sanctuary with west and south-facing windows as well as windows in the vaulted ceiling. The ceiling fan will circulate those ocean breezes! Sit in bed and look out toward the beautiful Pacific Ocean, watch the eagles soar! The fine linens and featherbed will coddle and comfort you.The dining room features a fireplace and the most memorable and award-winning three course breakfast served daily at 9:30 am. Breakfast time at Boreas is indeed a very special occasion!
The Dunes Suite at Boreas Inn is a favorite
for honeymoons and anniversary celebrations. A jetted bathtub, simply beautiful linens, the vast king-size bed with featherbed offers a view through the dunes to the ocean beyond. French doors opening to the deck, lead you out to the best and most private hot tub on the beach. The Garden Suite is lush with silk and in the warmer weather, the private deck, equipped with lounge chairs is a perfect spot to read, drink a glass of wine and be totally content!
The Pacifica, an upstairs guest room has a huge view to the dunes and ocean and a vaulted ceiling with a Balinese ceiling fan. The bed is luscious with a featherbed bottom and down top.The Boreas Kitchen is where the action is in the mornings (and much of the afternoon!). A wonderful place to cook, guests are welcome to watch the gourmet breakfast being prepared because of the open floor plan at Boreas Inn.
