“Almost immediately after going live on their partner sites, more than half of our top 12 search terms included some form of our name, which  I attribute to our exposure on Expedia.com, Kayak.com, hotels.com, and others.  Guests find us on those sites, and many then find us on Google; we get many reservations directly with us, free of commission.  

“Many innkeepers worry about paying commissions for even a single reservation during busy times and fear they will lose money.  We consider the reservations we get through the program a fair cost for the massive exposure and increased website bookings.  Effective commissions overall are much less than the cost of most directory listings, and are probably closer to the percentage we pay to accept credit cards!
