This recipe uses the microwave to make jam. It works really well with blackberries. We only use fruit collected from the forest brambles. It goes down really well with our guests at breakfast and very easy to make.
Heat the sugar in the microwave in an ovenproof mixing bowl on high power for 2 minutes till warm. Add the frozen blackberries & stir in well. Heat on high power for 3 minutes. Stir well to make sure that all the sugar is dissolved. Return the dish to the oven and heat for 5 minutes. Stir, then test for setting. If required, heat for another 5 minutes & test again. Repeat until setting point is reached.Pour into hot sterilised jars and seal.
