Cinnamon Pickles: Appetizer-Snack

Ingredients:

  • 20-25 Slice Cumcumbers

  • 2 cup Lime

  • 8 quart Water

  • 1 Bottle Red Food Coloring

  • 1 cup White Vinegar

  • 1 tablespoon Alum

  • 2 cups Vinegar

  • 2 cups Water

  • 10 cups Sugar

  • 10 Sticks Cinnamon Sticks

  • 8 oz bag Red Hot Candies

Step 1:

Slice 20-25 cucumbers, mix 2 cups Lime, 8 quarts Water, pour over Cucumbers and let stand 24 hours. Drain and rinse well.

Step 2:

Simmer cucumbers in the following for two hours and then drain: 1 bottle Red Food Coloring, 1 cup White Vinegar, 1 tbsp Alum

Step 3:

Make syrup of the following and pour over pickles and let stand overnight: 2 cups Vinegar, 2 cups Water, 10 cups Sugar, 10 Cinnamon Sticks, 1 - 8oz package Red Hots

Step 4:

Drain and reheat syrup and pour over pickles, let stand overnight.

Step 5:

Drain and reheat syrup then pack pickles in jars and pour syrup over. Seal
