Casa Fruit Scones: Bread

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups All Purpose Flour

  • 1/3 cup Sugar

  • 2 1/2 tablespoons Baking Powder

  • 3/4 teaspoons Salt

  • 3/4 cups Butter - cut into small pieces

  • 1 cup Buttermilk

  • 1 teaspoon Citrus Zest

  • 1/2 cup Dried Fruit - Your Choice

Step 1:

Preheat oven to 375.

Step 2:

Sift the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together into a mixing bowl. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture. Cut in butter.

Step 3:

Add the buttermilk, dried fruit & zest to the flour mixture and stir by hand just until the batter is evenly moistened.

Step 4:

Turnout to ball – press 12 turns. Cut into triangles.

Step 5:

Bake at 375 for 15 minutes or until scones are golden brown.
