Halcyon Farm Old-Fashioned Cornbread: Breakfast-Brunch

Prep time:35 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup cornmeal

  • 1 cup flour

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 3 teaspoons baking powder

  • pinch salt

  • 1/4 cup melted butter

  • 1 egg

  • 1 cup milk

Step 1:

Heat oven to 425 degrees. Brush iron cornstick pan (12 cornsticks) with melted butter.

Step 2:

Thoroughly mix dry ingredients. Beat and mix egg and milk thoroughly.

Step 3:

Combine wet and dry ingredients slowly and completely but do not over stir. Add and fold in extra butter without over stirring.

Step 4:

Divide the batter evenly into the 12 individual cornstick compartments.

Step 5:

Bake at 425 degrees for 20 minutes (or until brown).
