Ginger Biscuits: Appetizer-Snack

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz self-rising flour

  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda

  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger

  • 4 oz margerine ( hard)

  • 2 1/4 tablespoons golden syrup

  • 4 oz superfine sugar

Step 1:

Set oven to 375. Grease and flour baking trays. Sift the flour, baking soda and ginger into a bowl. Rub in margarine until the mixture is like breadcrumbs. Warm the golden syrup in a pan and add to the mixture with the sugar. Mix well to a stiff consistency.

Step 2:

With Floured hands, roll a spoonful of the mixture into balls the size of a walnut. Place on baking trays, leaving room to spread out, and flatten each one with a fork. Bake for about 10 minutes. Transfer immediately to a wire rack to cool.

Step 3:

These are homemade ginger biscuits and the golden syrup referred to can be found on-line. It is a British recipe, and very yummy.
