Beat 4 eggs in a bowl wide enough to accommodate for the soaking of one or two slices with milk, vanilla and pinch of salt, until frothy, light yellow consistency...think yellow custard color.
Soak bread until moist through & through, but not soggy. While bread is soaking, put one slice of butter into pan for each bread slice.
Lift bread out with a slotted spatula so excess egg mixture can drain off. Put bread slice onto melted butter in hot pan and cook at medium heat until golden brown.
Then flip and blot off excess butter with paper towel and sprinkle on cinnamon sugar mixture, mixed to a light brown.
Serve with warm maple syrup (warmed for 10-15 seconds in microwave), with fresh strawberries, Valencia or Sunkist naval orange slices or other fruit in season. Enjoy with a glass of milk, coffee, cafe latte or whatever!
