Buttery Scones: Bread

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups Flour

  • 1 teaspoon Salt

  • 1 tablespoon Baking Powder

  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder

  • 1 cup Sugar

  • 1 Cup Butter, cold and cut into chunks

  • 2 1/2 cups Sour Cream

  • 1 cup Dried Fruit (your choice)

  • Cinnamon Sugar

Step 1:

Preheat Oven to 400 degrees. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar and salt.

Step 2:

Add the butter chunks and rub into the flour mixture. The end result should resemble coarse meal about the size of small peas.

Step 3:

Step 4:

Incorporate the sour cream and mix. Do not over mix or the scone will be tough instead of light and airy.

Step 5:

Use an ice cream scoop to scoop out batter and place on cookie sheet. Sprinkle top with cinnamon. Bake 15-18 minutes or until tops are lightly browned.
