Door County Cherry Muffins: Bread

Ingredients:
4 cups flour
2 cups sugar
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3 cups frozen & rinsed Door County cherries
1 cup butter (melted)
1 cup milk
4 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
TOPPING
1 cup flour
1/3 cup soft butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Step 1:
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Step 2:
Combine dry ingredients and blend. I a separate bowl, toss 1 tbs. of dry ingredients with cherries.
Step 3:
In a large bowl, mix butter, milk, eggs and vanilla. Then add dry ingredients and stir until well moistened. Stir in cherries.
Step 4:
Spoon batter into muffin tins to about 3/4 full and sprinkle with topping mixture. Bake at 425 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Makes about 2 dozen muffins.
Step 5:
Optional topping - sprinkle with suger.
