Apple Clafouti: Breakfast-Brunch
1 cup Half and Half or Cream or Milk
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
3 tablespoon Melted Butter
1 cup All Purpose Flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoon Sugar
2-3 Apples Peeled and Thinly sliced
for sprinkling Sugar
for sprinking Cinnamon
1-2 tablespoon Melted Butter
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Combine the wet ingredients (eggs, cream vanilla and melted butter). Combine dry ingredients (flour, sugar, salt). The add wet to dry and whisk until smooth.
Spray a 9-10" oven proof skillet with non-stick cooking spray. Add batter to the skillet. Decorate batter with thinly sliced apples (mandolin works best) to cover batter.
Sprinkle the apples lightly with sugar and cinnamon. Drizzle on the 1-2 tablespoons of melted butter.
Put skillet in oven and bake for approximately 20 minutes. Claflouti is done when it is firm in middle, starts to brown and puffs up a little. Cut and serve w/maple syrup if desired.
