Creme Brulee French Toast: Breakfast-Brunch
Prep time:20 minutes
1 stick butter
1 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons corn syrup
1 loaf country style bread
1 1/2 cups half and half
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoons Grand Marnier
1/4 teaspoon salt
In a small saucepan melt butter, brown sugar and corn syrup. stirring until smooth and pour into 9x13 pan.
Cut 1" slices of bread, trim crusts and fit tightly into pan in one layer.
In bowl whisk eggs, half and half,nutmeg, cinammon,vanilla, salt and Grand Marnier. Pour over bread, cover and refridgerate overnight.
Remove pan from fridge and bring to room temperature while preheating oven to 350. Bake uncovered for 40-45 minutes until edges are golden and puffy. Cut and flip over to serve. Enjoy!
