    Glenculloo Cottage offers guests a unique ‘home-stay’ experience during their visit to the Emerald Isle. Historically renovated as our personal holiday home, it provides an atmosphere that many sterile self-catering accommodations and high-volume B&B’s lack. Though set in the peaceful Irish countryside, the central location of Glenculloo Cottage, makes many “must-see” tourist destinations easily accessible via day-trips. Our guest have the exclusive opportunity to take advantage of our Personalized Tour Service during their stay. County Tipperary is one of the best-kept secrets in Ireland. Away from mass tourist crowds, it is a place where you can experience the ‘real’ Ireland. Our hope is that your stay at Glenculloo Cottage will be an unforgettable experience, rejuvenate your spirit, and surpass your expectations. Glenculloo Cottage only accommodates 1 group of guests at any given time, even if you are traveling solo.     Your hosts are Tony and Dana. Tony has been coming to Ireland for over 15 years and established Glenculloo Cottage in order to share his passion for the “real Ireland”. As a physician, he also enjoys a part-time medical practice in the United States. Since the age of 3, Tony has embraced his gift as a talented violinist…and you might catch him fiddlin’ during your stay at Glenculloo Cottage. Dana brings a wealth of experience from years in the hospitality and tourism industries.

    Reservation Policy

    • Minimum stay: 6 night minimum stay is required

    • Deposit amount required: A deposit of $1000.00 is required at the time of booking to reserve your stay at Glenculloo Cottage. This entire deposit becomes non-refundable once you are within 6 months of the first day of stay.

    • Cancellations: Guests arriving after or departing before their reserved dates, or those who fail to show for any reason, are responsible for the cost of their entire reserved stay. Cancellations must be made by speaking with us in person, via telephone, or an acknowledged email. Voice mail (answering machine) messages do not constitute cancellation confirmation. We will be happy to return your deposit when applicable, less a $25 administrative fee.

Directions from Shannon Airport Take the N19 to the N18 (toward Limerick). Take N7 (Dublin Road) toward Nenagh. Exit right at R499 toward Silvermines. Right at Shallee Cross (just before the R500 exit leading towards Nenagh). Drive approximately 3 miles and take Left at Glown Cross (sign pointing to Keeper Hill Scenic Drive). Continue for approximately 10 minutes. You will cross a small bridge with the Old Glenculloo School on your right. Continue for 0.5 mile and the valley will open-up in front of you. You will look to your left and see Glenculloo Cottage, across another small bridge. Cross bridge and Glenculloo Cottage is directly ahead. Directions from Dublin Airport Take M1 toward Dublin. Take M50. Take M7 toward Portlaoise. Once in Portlaoise, take N7 (Dublin Road) toward Roscrea and continuing to Nenagh. Once in Nenagh take R497 toward Silvermine Watch for the R500 on your right and take that exit. Once at R499, take quick right and immediate left at Shallee Cross. Drive approximately 3 miles and take Left at Glown Cross (sign pointing to Keeper Hill Scenic Drive). Continue for approximately 10 minutes. You will cross a small bridge with the Old Glenculloo School on your right. Continue for 0.5 mile and the valley will open-up in front of you. You will look to your left and see Glenculloo Cottage, across another small bridge. Cross bridge and Glenculloo Cottage is directly ahead.

We will collect your rental car from the dealer, greet you in the airport terminal, and whisk you off into the Irish countryside. A complimentary fireside beverage will welcome you to Glenculloo Cottage. We recommend that guests staying at Glenculloo Cottage fly into Shannon Airport on the West Coast of Ireland. Transit time from Shannon to Glenculloo Cottage is approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. The trip from Shannon, compared to Dublin, is more picturesque and less prone to traffic congestion. You may opt to fly into Dublin, however you will have to arrange your own transport to Glenculloo Cottage, as we do not provide airport pick-up or drop-off service to the Dublin Terminal. All major airline carriers service both airports.
