Lamp Post Inn and Gallery

This was not the ideal time to visit McGregor as some of the businesses were closed for a shorter season. Our innkeeper was very nice and the stay was comfortable. This is a very good value also. I would stay here again if I'm every in McGregor overnight.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Lamp Post Inn. Ramona made us feel as if we were family. We will recommend this inn to others!

Our stay at the Lamp Post Inn was most pleasant. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay in the beautiful 100 year old house. The bed and room were really comfortable. Also the hostess was very pleasant and the breakfast was really delicious. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home with us on our trip to Wisconsin. We would definately return next year on our summer trip.

Lamp Post Inn is a wonderful place to stay and Macgregor, Iowa is lovely "pocket town". Our hosts were gracious and knew all about the history of this small town. Also, the food was great.

Nothing fancy, just salt of the Earth hostess who treated us like her favorite children home for the weekend (fed us a breakfast of champions).

First time in the area and unsure where to stay...we happened upon the Lampost Inn & Gallery and could not have found a better place to stay. Friendly innkeepers, a restful nights sleep in a very comfortable bed (schoolhouse room) and a great breakfast in the morning! We were surrounded by beautiful art work in this spectacular victorian home. We look forward to returning and recommend this B&B.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Lamp Post Inn and Gallery last week and it truly was the perfect time! We enjoyed everything about the B&B, especially the owners, Ramona and Dorrence. They were very warming, welcoming and entertaining. We would definitely suggest staying at the Lamp Post Inn and Gallery, they opened up their home and their hearts to us during our stay. Everything was perfect, couldn't ask for a better experience.

Gracious, friendly couple in an absolutely gorgeous turn-of-the-century home- original magnificent windows! Quiet, nice bed.

We booked our room the morning of our stay, and the folks here were very accommodating. We booked a room with a lovely clawfoot jacuzzi tub which was still much less expensive than any other hotel in the Prairie du Chien area. We walked around beautiful McGregor in the evening. Breakfast was wonderful -- pancakes, bacon, and strawberries picked from the garden. Would definitely stay here again if in the area!

The Lamp Post Inn is just far enough out of town to be a quiet place to sleep, but close enough to walk to activities in town. Friendly and gracious couple and their daughter were very pleasant to talk to. The home is gorgeous and the windows are absolutely beautiful. We kept to ourselves (the great bed felt good to our tired bodies!), but they were very sweet and willing to answer all our questions. Positive experience for first-timer B&B's like us.

My fiancee and I had hoped to stay here a few more days, but they were booked up except for one night of our stay in the area. Ramona and Dorrance's home is beautiful and we enjoyed the time we spent talking with them. We stayed in the Schoolhouse room and found it to be lovely and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was amazing. We heard plenty of great stories from their lives and even though we were only there one night we felt as though we had known them for years. If ever we are in the area again I am sure that the Lamp Post Inn and Gallery will be our first choice.

My wife and I stayed at the Lamp Post Inn on Oct. 21 and we had a wonderful stay. Our room was excellent, the house was filled with interesting paintings and art work, and the breakfast was excellent. Ramona and Dorrance were very accommodating and friendly, and made our stay in northeast Iowa a very wonderful experience (along with the fall colors of course). This was wonderful!!! They let us upgrade a room with no problem. They referred us to a nice place for dining. The proprietoress was friendly and congenial and told us about the town. Truly a great experience and simply loved breakfast! Jane R

we really enjoyed our stay in july. my husband, gelt at ease...that is an accomplishment! McGregor is definatley a town we will return to. we will check in on you when we come back...thinking maybe in the winter. we have read the book you kindly gave to us. i hope your family is doing well. thank you again for your hospitality. i will refer you to any that are coming to your area. i have received many compliments on the "funky" gourds i bought. nice to have something original! TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER!!!
