• You can't afford not to participate: Joining the program is free, and we handle all fulfillment, promotion, marketing and credit card costs; you pay a 20% commission on the face value of the redeemed card/certificate only when you get a reservation. If you redeem a $50 card on a $250 stay, your effective commission is only 4%.

  New commission schedule, effective October 1, 2008:
  • Up to $1,500 in redemptions in a calendar year: 20%
  • $1501 - $5000 in a calendar year: 17.5%
  • $5001 and up: 15%
  The full 20% commission will be charged on all transactions, and a rebate check will be sent to innkeepers after the end of every calendar year for any amount due. The new commission structure will cost an average of $42 annually per property. Since the average gift card sale is $150 dollars and the average B&B stay is close to $350, the effective commission rate for the program is still under 10%. For the initial change in pricing, the term will run from October 1 through December 31, 2009 (15 months), so more properties will qualify for the lower rates.
• Getting paid is easy as pie: To redeem cards and certificates, just log in and enter the order and card/certificate number, and the money gets deposited into your bank account electronically within four business days (six for Canada). No invoicing, no mailing, no waiting for checks.
• You get featured on BedandBreakfast.com: Participating properties are featured in the gift card search and have identifying badges and icons on their listing, making it easy for the tens of thousands of recipients to find you. Here's how it works: 

Log in to your Home Base on BedandBreakfast.com using your Property ID and Password, and click Accept Cards/Certificates. Read the Terms & Conditions, then check the box and click Submit. Not yet a BedandBreakfast.com member? Click here.

1. Gift card/certificate participation instructions will then be emailed to you.
2. When someone stays at your property with a BedandBreakfast.com gift card/certificate, log in to your Home Base on BedandBreakfast.com with your Property ID and password, and click Accept Cards/Certificates, then click Redeem Cards/Certs and enter the order and card/certificate numbers. The redemption system will verify that the card/certificatebeing presented to you is valid and will show you the current balance available. You will then enter the amount to redeem (up to the maximum amount currently available), and click Submit. For security reasons, some gift cards have the order number protected by a scratch-off coating. After removing the coating, you'll see the number you need. All BedandBreakfast.com gift cards/certificates are priced in U.S. Dollars. Canadian properties should be sure to enter the U.S. Dollar amount of the certificate that is being redeemed into our system. Canadian properties are responsible for converting the certificates/cards into the Canadian Dollar value, to be applied to the customer's payment.
3. For your protection, ask guests for their credit card information, and check to see that their credit card is valid. This ensures that you will be protected for any additional charges or damages. BedandBreakfast.com will then automatically deposit 80% of the redeemed amount into your bank account via Direct Deposit, officially known as Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) within four business days for properties located in the United States, and within 6 business days for properties located in Canada. There's no folding, licking, addressing, stamping or waiting! U.S properties who do not wish to use Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) can be sent a check; a $10 processing fee, per check, applies; one check can cover multiple certificates.
4. To track the status of your payments, log in to your Home Base on BedandBreakfast.com with your Property ID and password, and click Payments.
5. BedandBreakfast.com gift cards/certificates do not expire. The commission rate is 20%.
