Ab Butler's Dogtrot is a two-story log cabin built in 1800 on the Cumberland River in Kentucky. Used during the Civil War as a hospital, and occupied until the mid 1990's, the house was brought to Texas and re-built. Located 4 miles from Main Street, Fredericksburg, Ab Butler's Dogtrot stands in a rural setting amidst oak trees inhabited by deer, squirrels, and birds. Marschall Creek meanders to the left of the house and gives visitors an opportunity to explore a hill country creek. Inside the cabin are two distinct suites, each with a living room, wood burning fireplace, upstairs bedroom with king size bed, and private bath with a Jacuzzi.
