I was very fortunate to stay for three days in Villa Lemahbang last year and had a wonderful relaxing time. It is a luxurious and tastefully appointed villa set on the edge of a Javanese village with beautiful views over the surrounding farm land with the magnificent backdrop of a ring of volcanoes in the distance. Service is attentive without being intrusive and the responsibility of the host's family. The villa has a privacy and yet takes advantage of its very beautiful surroundings. My favorite place being the private and lush garden with sweeping views to the mountains. The villa is an ideal place to launch an expedition to the fabulous sulphur lake volcano Ijen. Now made famous by several world class documentaries which have shown this unique volcano and the trials of the sulphur gathering locals who do the trek to cut blocks of sulphur from Ijen's crater twice a day. The trip to Ijen is a must do and there is no better place to return to after this fascinating day trip than to the comfort and sophistication of Villa Lemahbang. The Villa has been beautifully appointed in the best that Indonesia has to offer from traditional pattern Javanese tiles to wrought iron finishes inspired by the best of French craftmanship from a bygone era. The villa is a tribute to the taste and experience of the owners Phillipe Ju who have spared no expense to present their villa which is modern and yet breathes the quality of craftmanship in every detail from layout to quality furniture,paintings and fittings so rare in the modern world. A unique experience of comfort and luxury all round. A place where the best of the past and present meet. I highly recommend it. Paul Coventry.

We have stayed at villa Lemahbang in June 2012 for 5 nights. We had a wonderful time. Of course we use the villa as a base to do the Ijen volcano. Amazing ! The staff organized the 4 wheels drive jeep to pick us up at 4am. We came back to the villa around 12 noon to a fabulous Javanese feast. Spicy and Tasty. They also organized a snorkeling trip in Mejangan island in Bali. a memorable day. The house is really well appointed. The bedrooms and bathrooms well furnished and confortable.The antique bale in the garden is great place to sink a few drinks and look at the local working in the fields. Wifi can be a bit slow. You can either cook by yourself or ask the family on site to cook for you. They will organize the shopping,find a motorbike to rent , Get some fresh tropical fruits,or a yellow fin tuna for your special dinner. We will come back.
