Round Barn Inn B&B

  • Inn Details

Our round barn was built in 1916, during an era when 226 similar barns were constructed in the state of Indiana. Most of these structures, due to neglect, have been destroyed. Our barn is one of approximately 100 still standing. We are located just 2 miles from the famous Littletown Barn, Indiana's largest circular barn. Come stay with us and learn more about these unique structures and how they played a significant role in Indiana's agricultural history. Our barns are located in a rural farm setting yet are easily accessible from I-70, I-69, and several other major highways. We have 4 rustic, yet modern, rooms to meet your various lodging needs. Decorated with a large assortment of hard to find antiques, our barn is unique in both architecture & decor. Guests are treated to comfortable beds and a delicious home-cooked breakfast. Weddings, meetings, and retreats are something to remember in this unique setting.

The Round Barn Inn is clean, well kept and, most important for us, unique. Breakfast is excellent and portions are appropriate. Dean offered his garage space for our bike. Nice place & people.

We had a group of 10 women. We stayed in two of the largest rooms, which also had sleeper sofas. He also set up a table in the larger room to do a craft.

    Wow!

Ten of us Mary Kay girls arrived for an overnight fun bonding time. We had little detail of where we were going so we were definitely curious! What a fabulous surprise awaited us! From the gorgeous grounds to the floor to ceiling antiques, this place is refreshingly unique. It maintains a cozy and charming atmosphere all the way through, without ever seeming overdone. We had our late night girl time in the hay loft, complete with a honeymoon suite that included a hot tub! We felt (since we are a loud group of ladies!) that we'd be less disruptive that way, however some of us did stay in the main house. Because we came with our own agenda we did not get to sample all the entertainment the inn offers, but I did note a very nice pool table and large stock of movies. The owner, Dean, even helped up set up for our craft time after breakfast. He had coffee to greet us, fresh fruit and juice and a ham and cheese egg casserole that was delicious! I don't know how he keeps the whole place so clean but it was spotless! I would definitely recommend Round Barn Inn to anyone looking for a fun, unique B&B experience!!

We stayed at this wonderfully unique B & B last weekend. We were greeted by the mild mannered inn keeper upon arriving and shown around. He was friendly without being intrusive and very informative about the place. After settling in our Milk Maid's Room and making use of the huge tub, we drove to Indy for dinner. When we returned, we played some pool and checkers then browsed the selections of DVDs. We were surprised to find the newly released Bounty Hunter which we watched . We had left the AC on in the bedroom and it was nice and chilly in our room. We turned it off before bed and slept comfortably. Breakfast was at 9:00 so we got up around 8:00. The wonderful smells that greeted us when we opened the bedroom door, prompted us to go down early. The welcoming table already had a big portion of fresh fruits cut up in a bowl and orange juice. Since we aren't coffee drinkers, we were given a large glass of milk. Shortly after we sat down, we had a plate set in front of us. There were fried eggs, Texas toast and perfectly made bacon, crispy but not burnt . The inn keeper mother's made a delicious breakfast! This was our first bed and breakfast experience and it was a wonderful one. The inn was clean, cozy, and interesting. There was plenty to do, from relaxing with a bubble bath in an old tub to sitting on the porch swing and listening to the night sounds. The selection of games and things to read was good and the antiques were interesting to look at. We had plenty to do or could relax and do nothing at all if we chose to. We are definitely planning a return trip. Those of you who are interested in architecture and Indiana's older places will love this. Don't go expecting the Ritz. It is an old barn restored into an interesting living space, but it is clean, unique and worth the experience especially for the price! How many people can say they've stayed in a round barn, after all?

My fiance and I decided to spend a weekend at a bed and breakfast. We live in Indianapolis and hoped to find something nice that was also close. A friend recommended the Round Barn Inn. Boy are we glad he did! It was like walking into a museum. Rare and unique antiques were everywhere. The Innkeeper was very pleasant and gave us the history of the barn. Our room was very cozy and the breakfast was wonderful! Definitely perfect for a night away from everything.
