Stone Soup Inn

My friend and I stayed in the Craftsman room, the place was tidy, unique, the other guests were nice. It had an elegance to it. The bed was comfy. The window seat was amazing! Breakfast that morning was from a family cookbook. It was very enjoyable. Well worth it! And the cost was lower than most hotels we had been looking at down town. We walked into down town to attend an event and caught a cab back-less than 2 miles to get to the Lucas Oil Stadum.

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised. We thought we were not b&b people, but our time there was good. Everything was a positive experience. We will definitely recommend Stone Soup Inn, and hope to revisit there ourselves.

All rooms are differnt but the one we stayed in was very nice the only thing is it would be nice for a bigger breakfest table but it was ok both days if it was a full house it might have a little wait if everybody wakes up at the same time this might be normal dont know it was the 1st B&B for me will stay again Thank You

I really liked this place. It was very close to downtown and the vibrant Mass. Ave. The house is beautiful. The rooms are quite large. The breakfast was tasty. I had no complaints.

Such a beautiful and relaxing bed and breakfast. I'm not sure where all the negative comments are coming from, but my wife and I stayed at the Stone Soup Inn for our honeymoon and absolutely LOVED it. Staff was friendly, rooms were clean. The Inn has a dedicated parking lot, which is great (and it's free). The building itself is very cool. Old, wood floors, stained glass, pocket doors. Everything you would expect from the outside, is inside. Very quaint and casual. You don't feel like a customer like I normally do at a hotel. But like a guest. You can walk around the Inn as you please. Get drinks and snacks. Breakfast was simple. But much better than any continental breakfast we've had. And the neighborhood is gorgeous. Don't expect a 4 star hotel. But if you are into historic buildings, the look, the feel, the environment. This is the place to stay. We've never stayed at a B&B before. But now it is safe to say that they will be our first choice over a hotel any day.

The Stone Soup Inn was the first B&B my 15 yearold daughter had stayed in, and she loved the difference when compared to a hotel. We stayed in the Victorian Room. It is truly amazing. I don't know who the decorator was, but the pictures don't give the room enough credit. The painting/stenciling was absolutely incredible! I just laid in bed in awe. We had a king size bed which was very comfortable. We did have a shared bath, but we were the on;y ones using it. It had a tub and a shower. Breakfast was great. Fresh strawberries with blueberries, quiche, muffins and cereal/bread etc. I was even offered food to take to our room for my daughter who was still sleeping! Easy wireless hookup. The Inn Keeper had left a lovely welcome letter for us. Overall the house is just beautiful, peaceful, inviting and in a great location. We only wished we could have stayed longer.

I was really excited/didn't know what to expect, it was my fiance and I's first stay in a B&B, the area was really lovely, I love the older homes, I would have liked to have a little more explanation from the inn keeper about the home etc. I never knew where the inn keeper was to ask questions about what they like to do in the area etc. It was a really nice room though, just maybe wanted a little more interaction.

The room was very nice and the service at the Inn was excellent. My only recommendation for this location is additional curtains on the large window of the room (we had to wake up with the sunrise every morning) and a re-evaluation of the air conditioning system that served the room. It was 94 degrees outside during the day and 80 in the room when we went to bed at night. That made it hard to sleep.

I stayed in the SE Loft Room and it was extremely uncomfortable. There were two chairs that were not comfortable to sit in. To climb up and down the ladder to get to the bed was difficult and you had to craw into bed. You could not stand in the loft. This may have been OK for young people. I would definitely stay hear again, but not in a loft room.

In all, this establishment was a very good value for the price. The room was very large, and the kitchen was quite more than expected. Additionally, the room was very tidy and the bed and furniture were comfortable. The only minor ding was trying to find the owner for check-in and check-out. There was not a very clearly marked lock box to deposit keys, and after hours check-in was a bit of a pain. Again, these are only minor grievances, and did not detract from the overall experience of staying in this Inn.

The Stone Soup Inn turned out to be a wonderful, peaceful retreat during a very stressful time in my life. We were greeted warmly and shown to our room (NW loft). The room was very cozy and clean. Both the bed and the furniture were very comfortable. The inn is beautifully decorated and it's easy to feel at home there. It was very quiet and I didn't even encounter any other guests while I was there (although I could hear doors, so I knew others were staying there). It was like I had this big, beautiful house all to myself. I'd HIGHLY recommend this inn to anyone looking for a peaceful place to stay within Indy city limits.

After a long journey from the UK, it was wonderful to stay in such delightful relaxing and friendly accommodations, within easy reach of Downtown Indy. Would strongly recommend the Stone Soup Inn to those seeking a calm retreat after a busy day.

What a delightful place to stay. A superb inn with outstanding decor and service. My stay here was wonderful and I will definitely return. Unreservedly recommended.

Very nice innkeeper. Only negative was the toilet needed plunged everytime it was used and it was hot upstairs.

Had a great few days here during the middle of the week. Wonderful room, large with great HOT water and a very lovely breakfast setup. A beautiful setting, just north of downtown in a quiet residential setting. Would definitely stay again!

The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Hospitality is second to none. highly recommended.

As our 2nd stay here, this weekend proved to be quiet and relaxing in the quaint arts and crafts surroundings. It was the perfect way to spend a weekend with best friends!

Beautiful Victorian mansion, but not pretentious. Home away from home. Great perks, e.g., wine glasses and corkscrew, stocked mini-fridge, snacks, neat book summarizing history of neighborhood!

The Stone Soup inn is a cozy hideaway with a lot of personality, likable staff, and artsy decor.

I found this inn to be a great place for private time with my husband. Our visit made us wan to visit other B&B's!
