My husband and I stayed here recently, and we absolutely loved it! The homemade breakfast and the unique character of our room was really quite lovely. We plan on definitely staying here again!

I would have liked to know in my welcome email that the main door always remained locked so when we couldn't get in we weren't standing there for 10-15 minutes wondering what was up. When we so called "checked in" the welcoming was not warm or friendly, we were just given a key showed the main door entry access and told that we could have access to the butlers pantry and that breakfast starts at 8 AM. No locations of butlers pantry or brekfast room were explained. We had to find out room ourselves after a brief direction description. When we found our ground floor access garden room we meet a steep set of stairs that lead to a basement door. After entering the door we found a mini apparent which was average. We scoped out our private bathroom to find a pair of men's boxers laying I the tank of the toilet which made us question of our room was even cleaned. There were multiple hairs found on toliet and sink. There was something brown found half way up the wood wprk on the door, very visible. All I can say is thank goodness we had a trial size pack of clorex wipes in our bag. The rooms are very noisy, we could here the tv, the phone conversations, alarms, and etc. of the person staying next to us. The "windows" in our room which were located ground level to the parking light were not private at all. At night when a car pulled near you could hear the engine running and the headlights shined right in lighting up the whole room. I guess I know why there were no pictureen listed on the website for this room (I thought it was because it was "newly" opened), because it was not what they had listed in their description. Ohh and you could hardly lock the door to our room!!!

Had a great stay. The welcoming atmosphere, clean and authentic style and wonderful hotel owner/manager (Tom) really made my stay in Indianapolis fantastic. I will certainly stay here again next time I visit Indianapolis. Tom is the best and they'll take great care of you at Stone Soup Inn!

I was on a quick in and out trip to Indianapolis to attend a funeral and my stay at Stone Soup Inn was a comforting respite in the midst of chaos. The house is beautiful, the host was gracious about the fact that I'd forgotten about the time difference and needed to update my arrival time, and my room was much more spacious than I expected for one of the least expensive rooms at the Inn. I appreciated the healthy breakfast options that set me up for another long day of driving on my way home. My only regret was that I didn't have time to lounge in the public spaces or on the porch and enjoy a good book or walk around the historic neighborhood.

The rooms were amazing. Some of the lofts would be hazardous for older people, but they're very cool. Breakfast was delicious. We'll definitely be returning.

We found this delightful spot after navigating many one-way streets and after that, the ambiance allows for total relaxation. We love period places and this property transports you to the early 1900's with antiques and formal pictures of your great great grandfather who will live on forever on the walls. The home is totally air conditioned during the hot weather, very neat and clean with numerous lounges and public areas. Off-street parking is plentiful and the host is entertaining.

My friend and I stayed in the Craftsman room, the place was tidy, unique, the other guests were nice. It had an elegance to it. The bed was comfy. The window seat was amazing! Breakfast that morning was from a family cookbook. It was very enjoyable. Well worth it! And the cost was lower than most hotels we had been looking at down town. We walked into down town to attend an event and caught a cab back-less than 2 miles to get to the Lucas Oil Stadum.

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised. We thought we were not b&b people, but our time there was good. Everything was a positive experience. We will definitely recommend Stone Soup Inn, and hope to revisit there ourselves.

All rooms are differnt but the one we stayed in was very nice the only thing is it would be nice for a bigger breakfest table but it was ok both days if it was a full house it might have a little wait if everybody wakes up at the same time this might be normal dont know it was the 1st B&B for me will stay again Thank You

I really liked this place. It was very close to downtown and the vibrant Mass. Ave. The house is beautiful. The rooms are quite large. The breakfast was tasty. I had no complaints.

Such a beautiful and relaxing bed and breakfast. I'm not sure where all the negative comments are coming from, but my wife and I stayed at the Stone Soup Inn for our honeymoon and absolutely LOVED it. Staff was friendly, rooms were clean. The Inn has a dedicated parking lot, which is great (and it's free). The building itself is very cool. Old, wood floors, stained glass, pocket doors. Everything you would expect from the outside, is inside. Very quaint and casual. You don't feel like a customer like I normally do at a hotel. But like a guest. You can walk around the Inn as you please. Get drinks and snacks. Breakfast was simple. But much better than any continental breakfast we've had. And the neighborhood is gorgeous. Don't expect a 4 star hotel. But if you are into historic buildings, the look, the feel, the environment. This is the place to stay. We've never stayed at a B&B before. But now it is safe to say that they will be our first choice over a hotel any day.

We very much enjoyed our stay! Great rooms! Very comfortable.

The Stone Soup Inn was the first B&B my 15 yearold daughter had stayed in, and she loved the difference when compared to a hotel. We stayed in the Victorian Room. It is truly amazing. I don't know who the decorator was, but the pictures don't give the room enough credit. The painting/stenciling was absolutely incredible! I just laid in bed in awe. We had a king size bed which was very comfortable. We did have a shared bath, but we were the on;y ones using it. It had a tub and a shower. Breakfast was great. Fresh strawberries with blueberries, quiche, muffins and cereal/bread etc. I was even offered food to take to our room for my daughter who was still sleeping! Easy wireless hookup. The Inn Keeper had left a lovely welcome letter for us. Overall the house is just beautiful, peaceful, inviting and in a great location. We only wished we could have stayed longer.

I was really excited/didn't know what to expect, it was my fiance and I's first stay in a B&B, the area was really lovely, I love the older homes, I would have liked to have a little more explanation from the inn keeper about the home etc. I never knew where the inn keeper was to ask questions about what they like to do in the area etc. It was a really nice room though, just maybe wanted a little more interaction.

My husband and I had stayed at Stone Soup while visiting our son and his fiancee. When a wedding date was announced, we quickly called and booked all 8 rooms. The staff was very gracious, and the hot breakfasts were delicious.

The room was very nice and the service at the Inn was excellent. My only recommendation for this location is additional curtains on the large window of the room (we had to wake up with the sunrise every morning) and a re-evaluation of the air conditioning system that served the room. It was 94 degrees outside during the day and 80 in the room when we went to bed at night. That made it hard to sleep.

I stayed in the SE Loft Room and it was extremely uncomfortable. There were two chairs that were not comfortable to sit in. To climb up and down the ladder to get to the bed was difficult and you had to craw into bed. You could not stand in the loft. This may have been OK for young people. I would definitely stay hear again, but not in a loft room.

In all, this establishment was a very good value for the price. The room was very large, and the kitchen was quite more than expected. Additionally, the room was very tidy and the bed and furniture were comfortable. The only minor ding was trying to find the owner for check-in and check-out. There was not a very clearly marked lock box to deposit keys, and after hours check-in was a bit of a pain. Again, these are only minor grievances, and did not detract from the overall experience of staying in this Inn.

The Stone Soup Inn turned out to be a wonderful, peaceful retreat during a very stressful time in my life. We were greeted warmly and shown to our room (NW loft). The room was very cozy and clean. Both the bed and the furniture were very comfortable. The inn is beautifully decorated and it's easy to feel at home there. It was very quiet and I didn't even encounter any other guests while I was there (although I could hear doors, so I knew others were staying there). It was like I had this big, beautiful house all to myself. I'd HIGHLY recommend this inn to anyone looking for a peaceful place to stay within Indy city limits.

After a long journey from the UK, it was wonderful to stay in such delightful relaxing and friendly accommodations, within easy reach of Downtown Indy. Would strongly recommend the Stone Soup Inn to those seeking a calm retreat after a busy day.

Beautiful Victorian mansion, but not pretentious. Home away from home. Great perks, e.g., wine glasses and corkscrew, stocked mini-fridge, snacks, neat book summarizing history of neighborhood!
