Davis House

I have not stayed in a bed and breakfast in many years and I was not sure what to expect when I arrived at the David House but my nervousness was completely unfounded. the stay was great, the food was incredible, the price was right, I'll be back whenever I am in Crawfordsville!

I did not arrive the first night until around 10 p.m., yet Cindy was very courteous and greeted me with a smile. The Blue Room was very lovely, extremely clean & inviting (as was the Garden Room during a previous visit). The queen bed was very comfortable and provided me with an excellent night of sleep. Breakfast was served on beautiful china both days (the food was quite good), and I really enjoyed my morning chats with Cindy, Steve and another guest - Lionel. The Davis House is a Big Treasure in a small town. Steve and Cindy's attention to detail is obvious from from second you step into their lovely, lovely home and includes everything from the cleanliness to the decorations to the breakfasts they serve their guests. There's a small kitchen area on the second floor with complimentary snacks and beverages (hot and cold), and they have complimentary wine for their guests in the evenings. Guests can borrow books and movies if they'd like. If The Davis House is booked up when I travel to Crawfordsville, I stay at the Holiday Inn Express. I always prefer The Davis House for the financial value (it's much less than the Holiday Inn), but even more for the comfort and total ambiance. I highly recommend The Davis House to anyone who will be in Crawfordsville, Indiana, over 1 or more nights!!!

The innkeepers where very nice and accomodating. The property is lovely, clean and very clean.

Steve and Cindy were welcoming hosts. The Davis House is beautiful and well kept. The rooms are tasteful and very comfortable. They welcomed us with nuts and wine. Breakfast the next morning was wonderful. We will be back!

We typically stay several days at Davis House on each visit to Crawfordsville, and have made at least 20 such visits since our hosts opened their lovely home to visitors. Cindy and Steve were great. They are very helpful and attentive, but not pervasive. We felt at home as their guests. Their amenities are as good as any we've experienced at any B&B. They welcomed us late and made sure we found a good, warm meal in town before bidding us goodnight. Crawfordsville is a charming little town. If you're looking for a B&B in this area, you'll love the Davis House!

We loved the vintage "Garden Room", and this house is at a great location right on Wabash's campus!

We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay at the Davis House and enjoyed getting to visit for a little bit with the owner, Cindy, on the back porch before we left for the Covered Bridge Festival. The entire B & B was very clean and The Garden Room we stayed in was decorated nicely with soft colors that made us feel at home. We hope to be able to come back again and bring some friends with us. We stayed one night at the Davis house and had a very restful night. Being greeted with a lovely glass of wine in the lovely living room with a gorgeous grand piano. We would definately stay here again.

We stayed here for a nice September weekend. The hosts were great. This was a good value. We enjoyed the accommodations, it was a comfortable bed, and the breakfast was wonderful. Our conversation with the hosts was delightful.

The Gollihers have taken a wonderful setting and added to it an exceptional combination of service and value. The home is simply beautiful, and several of the bedrooms are furnished with items collected during the family travels in Asia. Additionally, they have found that magical balance of making one feel welcomed yet all the while respecting their guests agenda and needs. Indeed, we enjoyed our stay so much that on our way back from Madison, we decided to change our return itinerary in order to once again stay at the Davis House.

I enjoyed my stay, very clean, very good service and great food. I plan to return again in the future.

Our one-night stay was very restful & interesting. The innkeepers have lovely momentos from their travels which add to the interest of this lovely, historic home. They are very hospitable & informative. Wine for guests in the evening, early coffee & tea before the main breakfast, great books & magazines about the area and bed & sheets to die for!! Cindy and Steve are wonderful hosts that take the time to know their visitors. The house is a old beauty that is in wonderful shape. Friendly hosts, very comfy bed and clean accomodations. House is beautiful and very welcoming from the sunroom furnished with wicker and gorgeous greenery to the complimentary wine and nuts served in the formal livingroom. Will definitely recommend!

The perfect balance of availability and warm without breaching privacy.

This historic building is very well maintained and features modern conveniences. We loved the tasteful furnishings in the East Asia Room. The quality of the room and the hospitality of the innkeepers represented very good value. The Country Affair restaurant, a short drive from town in the countryside, was a positive experience ... definitely casual but good.

Best in class breakfast. Never a disappointment with the inkeepers when I stay at Davis House. Some times the other guests are not all that friendly, but that's not the inkeeper's fault. I would stay here again.

I recently stayed at the Davis House while visiting my son at Wabash College. I've stayed there before for only one night and this time I stayed for two nights. I was the only guest, and was made to feel like one of the family. Cindy & Steve are very good hosts and on Saturday morning I lingered at the breakfast table for well over an hour chatting. The yogurt, granola, fruit, tea and muffins were delicious! I would recommend the Davis House to anyone who is visiting Crawfordsville or the surrounding area.

Steve and Cindy were wonderful hosts. We were greeted promptly when we arrived and were immediately made to feel at home. Our rooms were clean, the furnishings tasteful and interesting and the beds were so comfortable. We were treated to fresh fruit at breakfast as well as a hot dish and pastries. The coffee was excellent. The kitchenette for the guests was well stocked with snacks. Davis House is on our list for a return visit.

This 1865 home has been excellently maintained and decorated. The innkeepers, Steve and Cindy, are friendly, helpful, and well-informed. We had fruit and yogurt and coffee cake for breakfast, but hot breakfast was available if we wanted. We really enjoyed our stay!

My wife and I were on our way from MD to IA and stayed one night at the Davis House. Cindy met us at the door and served wine and snacks. After a long drive, it was just what we needed. The Blue Room was clean and comfortable. Beautiful home.. wonderful hosts.. can't say enough about it.

Cindy and Steve were great hosts, very accomodating. Davis House is elegant, clean, interesting, and the Garden room was most comfortable & beautiful. Meal in the a.m. was excellent and in the evening the carafe was kept filled. Easy walk to Wabash campus. I look forward to a return visit. Thanks!

This was our second visit to the Davis House in Crawfordsville, IN, and it again was the perfect spot. The innkeepers, Cindy and Steve, are so friendly, helpful, and down-to-earth that it feels like we're personal guests in their home. The location is convenient for walking to the campus or downtown - and is only a couple of blocks from where I lived many years ago so, for me, it's a much better choice than the chain motels out on the highway - and a much better value. Lovely old home.

This B&B is in a beautiful older home and run by a very hospitable couple. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the pictures on the website matched the actual rooms available. Loved the comfy overstuffed rocker in the room since I woke earlier than my husband and was able to sit in a comfy chair and read while he slept. Breakfast exceeded my expectations and was accompanied by wonderful conversation with the innkeepers who visited with us, but were not in any way intrusive. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

The house is beautiful and well-maintained; the host showed us through it before settling in...a nice gesture. He also provided menus and recommendations for local restaurants over wine and snacks (complimentary). The breakfast was "made to order" and served in the spacious dining room. A good value...we would definitely recommend.

Beautiful room, super comfy bed & linens! Fantastic, friendly and helpful hosts. Only complaint is that the jetted tub was out of order, and I had booked this room mainly for that feature. Noticed the sign was dated 2008 as well. Sincerely hope that the site is changed to reflect the fact the jets are non functional, or the jets are repaired! Other than that fairly major disappointment, everything else was lovely.

The complaint about the jets being out of order is absolutely fair and we are rightfully embarrassed to have forgotten to update our website to reflect that. The expense to repair or replace is not in the budget, not to mention the disruption and mess of tearing into the wall/ceiling, so unfortunately the jetted tub functions only as a regular tub/shower. THANK YOU for calling this to our attention!

Liked having the hot cocoa and tea upstairs available at any time.

We stayed at the Davis House while attending our daughter's Cross Country meet hosted by Wabash College. We have stayed at many B&Bs in the East and Midwest, and the Davis House is clearly one of the best. Accomodations were comfortable and well maintained, hosts were congenial, and breakfast was delicious and individually prepared to order. Don't miss this gem in Indiana!

We were driving through the area and stopped at the Davis House. The owners Cindy and Steve are outstanding hosts. The house is beautifully decorated and very inviting. Breakfast was outstanding. The bed linens were of such high quality we felt we were staying at a resort spa. Our morning walk through the garden just prior to breakfast with our cup of coffee in hand was so relaxing. We later took a stroll down to Wabash College and soaked in the beauty of the college and the magnificant trees. We stay at a lot of BnB's and Davis House is definitely at the top of the list. I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone. Exceptional value for the money!

My wife and I stayed here in the fall of 07. We have stayed in 100's of B & B's in the US, Canada, & Europe. If this inn were in a resort area the price would be well north of $200/night. The rooms were inviting, the bed was better that our home bed (and that's saying something), and the breakfast was just perfect. I honestly cannot think of 5 better B&B's. I will be back!

The perfect place to stay! It is down the street from Wabash College. We stayed in the Garden Room; it was spacious, warm, welcoming, spotlessly clean, and had a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was outstanding. My husband enjoyed the wine hour where he met some of the other guests (fellow Wabash graduates). Cindy and Steve were excellent hosts! We were so pleased to have stayed at at wonderful place. We will be back.
