We thought we might come in late and received a phone call checking on our status. We were greeted warmly when we got there. Our breakfast was fantastic and we had a lot of fun and laughs talking with the other guests at breakfast. Highly recommended. We would go back if that way again.

This lovely home has been restored to it's glory days and is the perfect get away place. Fred and Sally are very friendly and perfect hosts. If you're going to be in the area for a few days, don't hesitate to give The White House a try!

Top rating for this B&B. I needed a place to stay for 1 night for business in Morocco, IN and this was a great decision. The innkeepers, Sally and Fred were very friendly and informative about the area. Breakfast was excellent. I highly recommend this business or pleasure.

Excellent B&B! Breakfast amazing. Wonderful, Caring owners, Top Notch all around

This is a lovely B&B in the small community of Rensselaer, IN. The hosts have taken care of your every need before you even realize it. The decor of all the rooms (we've stayed in 2) have a Victorian elegance and are just beautiful and spacious, with all the modern updates required in the 21st century. The breakfasts are simply divine as is the company: the other guests and our hosts Fred and Sally. I can't think of a single improvement. Book a room and you'll see what I mean.

A wonderful overnight stay for a couple. Rooms are beautifully furnished with turn-of-century décor that evokes a genteel lifestyle, yet the B&B does not feel like a museum. Personal photos and memorabilia of current owners add a homelike atmosphere. A well-maintained vintage baby grand provided much enjoyment for my piano-playing spouse and me. Breakfast was delicious and attractively presented.

Very friendly and very helpful host and hostess. Beautiful home. Large, very comfortable bedroom and bath. Quiet neighborhood. Great breakfast at flexible time--we had to leave early for Cubs game, so had breakfast at 7:30, while honeymooners had breakfast at 9. Accommodated dietary needs of a Type 1 diabetic with a smile. This is a great place to stay.

We enjoyed staying here after our wedding! The room was clean and breakfast was amazing!

Fred and Sally were the friendliest, most helpful hosts we have ever dealt with. The facilities were wonderful, the breakfast was wonderful, and the hosts even helped with our itinerary. Bonus was their knowledge of the history of their beautiful house. We'll be going back next year.

I have stayed at this B&B a few times now, and it just gets better every time. The Innkeepers are two of the greatest people you will ever meet. If you need anything, just give them a call and they are more than happy to try to help you. My husband stay in 'The Cottage' room and loved it. It's spacey and is perfect for a romantic weekend retreat. I have also stayed in 'The Bird's Nest' when I have traveled solo. It's very cozy and I would recommend the room if you are traveling solo. And the breakfast...Amazing. Sally's Mountaintop Bacon is great. Ask for the Fruitini when you stay there, and you won't be disappointed. I look forward to the next time my husband and I need a weekend to ourselves. :)

We stayed here one night for our son's soccer game against St Joes. The home has been beautifully restored. The rooms were comfortable and roomy. The breakfast was awesome. They are willing to cook for vegetarians also. Would definaty recommend this place. Owners are very friendly and knowledgable.

We spent a wonderful weekend in this gorgeous home. Fred and Sally were gracious hosts, and they really made us feel welcome. They obviously make an effort to connect with each guest, as evidenced by the fact that so many guests appear to be "regulars" who come back year after year. Our only issue: the bathrooms are not for the claustrophobic! Still, if we are in the area again, we would definitely look into staying here.

We wanted a B & B for one night after escaping Chicago traffic. The White House was perfect for our needs about 45 miles south On I-65. The White House is just three miles from the interstate in a charming town. Our hosts were exceptionally gracious and hospitable. The inn is well over 100 years old, but remodeled to accommodate three-prong plugs and wifi. The rooms are huge with high ceilings and creative decoration. My wife was entranced by the beautiful antique furniture. Overall, our stay was wonderful and just what we needed. The only negative comment really does not reflect on the inn itself. We prefer basic breakfasts. I am sure that many people would love the quality fare set before us for breakfast, but it was just too rich for our tastes.

We stayed at the White House the night of our wedding in Rensselaer. It was a perfect place to spend our first night as husband and wife. We were exhausted after the big day and the nice bathroom and tub was a perfect place to relax. It was also nice to wake up the next morning and eat breakfast with other friendly guests The owners of the B&B were very friendly and asked about the details of our wedding. I am a baseball fan so it was nice having a baseball conversation with Fred (one of the owners) and the other guest. Very wonderful experience overall and highly recommended! Perfect place to stay to see Fair Oaks Farms too!

We were celebrating our 12th anniversary. We have stayed at many different Bed and Breakfasts. We found The White House on Park through Indiana Bed & Breakfast. We had no idea it was so close to our home. We were very pleasantly surprised. It was beautiful. We will definitely go back!

Spent the night to attend a wedding. Beautiful home. Fred and Sally were very friendly and made us feel comfortable in using the common areas. Breakfast was outstanding. My teenage daughter was even impressed - not a small feat. I would most definitely stay again.

If you want to have a slice of heaven you must try the White House. We both need a place to recharge or life and this fit the bill. The house was beautiful and relaxing. We ordered the fruit plate It just hit the spot after a long drive. The room was prefect. The breakfast was prefect ending to our stay. I just can't wait to return to White House. If you are planing to being in Indiana the White House should be on the top of your list

Personal touches, especially those involving Sonny and Kathy, made our stay very, very pleasant. Outstanding all the way. Thank you very much.

The interior of the "White House" seemed to glow with the warmth of a fire, though none were kindling in the fireplace at the time of our stay. The wood work is nothing short of art! We were happy not to be overwhelmed by Victorian clutter. The common rooms are furnished in a way that invites guests to sit, relax, read, visit, or whatever. Sally and Fred are friendly and gracious hosts. Our room was comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast was delicious! made more enjoyable by the comfortable, yet elegant dining room.

We stayed one night in October. The hosts were welcoming and made us feel right at home. Our room was spotless, cozy, nicely decorated, as was the whole house. Its in a quiet residential area. We would stay there again if in the area.

Beautiful Victorian house, gracious and friendly hosts, gorgeous bedroom, amazing breakfast - what more can you ask for? We were on the last leg of a week-long road trip, and this was the perfect ending. We'll definitely be back here the next time we pass through Indiana.

I spent 2 nights in Fred and Sally's lovely house. It was certainly better value for money than staying at any of the local hotels. It's really nice and quiet, and although Rensselaer doesn't have much of a variety of places to eat the few that are worth the visit are in easy walking distance. O yes and thank you Sally for the lovely breakfasts, I was treated like a king.

Stayed two nights at the White House on Park Avenue August 2012. WOW! What a gorgeous place! Comfortable beds, clean as a pin, quiet and elegant. Breakfast was scrumptious too. However, the best part for me was meeting Sally and Fred, the most accommodating hosts you'll find anywhere. These folks are the kind of people you want to have as your neighbors. Attentive, interesting and gracious. Truly lovely people. What more could you ask for? Stay here once and you'll throw rocks at the chain hotels from now on!

I reserved a room for two nights at this wonderful B & B for my visiting sister and brother-in-law. They were thrilled with the wonderful Rose Garden room, the delicious breakfasts, the general beauty of the entire place, and the graciousness and warmth of Fred and Sally Berger, proprietors. They remarked that it was really the most beautiful B & B in which they had ever stayed. Thank you, Fred and Sally, for giving my family members such a positive and memorable experience!
5 on May 29, 2012
My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay. The Bergers are excellent hosts, and the room was comfortable and cozy, and we loved our breakfasts. We also love the way the rest of the White House is decorated. I would highly recommend a stay at the White House.

We stayed one night in the room with the large whirlpool tub! We were greeted by Fred and Sally and given the grand tour. Our room was perfect in every way! We looked at the menus they provided us from local diners and we went on a dinner/movie date. The breakfast was superb! All of our needs were met and then some! Thank you!

We were not sure what to expect since we have never stayed a a bed and breakfast before. There were no vacancies at area hotels. We are glad to have found this gem. The restored woodwork throughout is so beautiful. We love older homes and their architecture. The innkeepers were so helpful and courteous. The homemade cookies at our bedside and the delicious home cooked breakfast served at the dining room table on china and with silverware were absolutely delicious! We plan to return there the next time we need to stay in Rensselaer, IN.

My wife and I spent a night at The White House on Park Avenue on our way to Wisconsin. We usually prefer a bed and breakfast to a hotel and found that Fred and Sally do a B & B right! They welcomed us and made us feel right at home. They were very detailed and knew how to really care for their guests. My wife has several food allergies and they were so gracious in providing her a breakfast that she could eat. We would definitely recommend The White House and will stay there again if we are ever in the area in the future.

My fiancé and I stayed here for a couple nights for our summer vacation. We stayed in the Bird's Nest room. It was quaint and cozy, but too small of a room for my fiancé. We wish there are more pictures on the B&B's website so we could see all aspects of the room including how far away the bathroom was from the bedroom. Beside that little hiccup, the rest of our stay was fantastic! Sally's breakfasts are phenomenal! She made a meal with yogurt-tini which has blueberries, honey, apples, and walnuts: it tastes delicious. My fiancé and I looked forward to breakfast everyday. Fred and Sally are hospitable, friendly, and respectful. The house is beautiful. We enjoyed our stay and we look forward to visiting them again.

This is my second stay but the first with the new owners. Sally and Fred provide an outstanding B&B experience. Delicious breakfast and the rare opportunity to stay in an amazing historic home. The room was well appointed and the freshly made cookies a welcome treat. It made my 35th High School reunion even more memorable. Cannot wait to come back. I shall not wait for the 40th reunion to return to the White House on Park! It is clear how much they enjoy the house and sharing it with others. Thank you so much the visit and all the information you shared.

We had a wonderful 2-night stay at The White House on Park Avenue. When asked about our breakfast preferences, I said that I was trying to avoid carbs but that I would adjust my eating to their menu and did not expect it to be the other way around. Nevertheless, the afternoon before our second morning, Sally Berger made it a point to inquire what I would like to have and what I would probably not eat. I really appreciated this and also felt good about the fact that food would not be wasted. Both Sally and Fred were very gracious and my husband and I are looking forward to our next visit there. I am hoping to take my granddaughter there before the end of the summer.

This was the first time I stayed at a Bed and Breakfast, and what a great first impression! I can's say enough about The White House. It was so beautiful, yet homey. Everytime I walked around the house I found something new and beautiful to look at. It was so peaceful. The hospitality was exceptional. Fred and Sally are so friendly and interesting to talk to. The breakfast was delicious, especially the yogurt tini and orange frech toast. Yum! I look forward to returning.

Our stay in the Bird's Nest was very quiet and restful. We loved the homebaked cookies, the breakfasts were delicious and the house was very comfortable. It was also close to the Jasper-Pulaski Fish and Wildlife Preserve where we watched thousands of sandhill cranes -just an easy 30 minute drive North of Rensselaer.

I arrived by car within the time bracket specified by the White House's website and parked under the porte cochere and was soon met by Sally Berger, who had been giving a piano lesson inside. She showed me the room I had chosen (the Rose Garden) and was even amenable to allowing me a different room, if I wanted it. The Rose Garden room was clean and decorated, I think, according to the White House's period--late nineteenth century. "The quiet won't bother you, will it?" she asked. For this business traveler, who would drive on to Chicago the next morning, the promised quiet was golden and did in fact happen. Just as important for me was that the bed was firm. Fred Berger, who appeared a bit later, and Sally later asked my preference, slightly early, for a time for breakfast and delivered (including french toast and bacon) perfectly the next morning in the White House's exceptionally pleasant dining room. I wanted a departure--a relaxing one--in an establishment off the beaten path and unlike the chains and found it at the White House in the good care of Fred and Sally Berger. W. D. B.

Charming, peaceful and miles from the fast pace of the big city. You'll enjoy the tree-lined neighborhood, the town square and the local restaurants. But you'll love the quiet relaxation of the B&B, the comfortable spaciousness of the room and the delicious breakfast.
