Inn Details
This Historic Dutch Colonial was built in 1932 by prominent politician, Alexander Nelson Pursley, was later donated to the Catholic Church for the St. Louis de Montfort Fathers' and was used as a monastery. After extensive restoration by several owners, it is now an Elegant Southern Styled Bed and Breakfast. Our recent purchase of this home situated on three and a half acres of wooded property and extensive redecorating has created a very unique weekend getaway. Jeanetta and Rodney have designed each bedroom to reflect an elegant memory of the South. Jeanetta and Rodney are both natives of Eastern Kentucky and Western North Carolina. They have fond memories of their southern childhood upbringing and wish to share this with you. Southern Green Gables Bed and Breakfast would like to invite you and your family to come, relax, "sit a spell", and get ready to enjoy true Southern Hospitality! Let us be your home away from home.
As said by Carlton R. Smith "A person doesn't have to live in the South to want to share good food with friends at the end of a warm day when the breeze is just right or to bask in the rewarding afterglow of a hard day's work in the garden. Southerners didn't invent these sorts of simple pleasures-WE JUST REFINED THEM."
